Best, Giggs, Ronaldo, Greenwood... Antony?
Is the misfiring right-winger the latest in a line of United stars to have been accused of violence against women?
Editor's note: Charges were levelled against Best and beaten, against Giggs and Greenwood and the cases dropped, and against Ronaldo but quashed (due to a lawyer's error). As such, none of these men were found guilty.
However...
There were A LOT of allegations against Best.
The Giggs case fell apart at the retrial, after a lengthy and stressful court process, and not because a court found him Not Guilty.
Ronaldo settled with his accuser.
Greenwood's accuser was his partner, who he got pregnant late last year - around the time he was arrested for breaching his bail terms not to see her or speak to her (presumably for fear of influencing a key witness)
The latest news is that Antony dos Santos allegedly assaulted his ex girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin, during their two year relationship which reportedly ended earlier this year. Brazilian news reports that both Sao Paolo police and Greater Manchester Police are investigating assault and intimidation accusations from Ms Cavallin.
The journalists involved claim to have interviewed Ms Cavallin and seen evidence relating to injuries, as well as witness testimony, and messages from Antony displaying aggravated behaviour. The most recent incident is said to have happened in Manchester and seen Antony displace one of Ms Cavallin's breast implants in a physical confrontation, as well as locking her in the house and depriving her of both her phone and her passport. Antony is then said to have called a Manchester 'handyman' (it is unclear if this was a United employee or not) who then arranged for doctors to visit the home and assess/treat Ms Cavallin.
It should be stated that Antony is protesting his innocence and through an Instagram statement he said that Ms Cavallin's story keeps changing but that he will cooperate with any investigations.
The Brazilian FA has, in the last few minutes, dropped Antony from the national team's upcoming two fixtures - calling up Gabriel Jesus in his stead. The statement, translated, states: "in order to safeguard the alleged victim, the player, the Brazilian national team and the CBF, the organization informs that the athlete has been removed from the Brazilian national team."
From a fan's perspective this is potentially a second rotten apple at United in recent years, at a time we're gelling new players, coping with an ungodly amount of injuries, and a tricky start to the season fixtures-wise.
We must look beyond this though. It must be treated as a safeguarding matter and Antony be dropped from the first team squad until the issue has been resolved. People may argue, like they did with Greenwood, about innocent until proven guilty. That applies to no unfair dismissal and continuing to pay the player's wages and not affect their livelihood. They have no guarantees to play for United week in, week out, and for serious accusations such as this there has to be a moral stance and behavioural code to allow the law to investigate - without showing prejudicial levels of support for the player or disregarding the serious nature of the allegations.
Racism and domestic abuse are the two big issues associated with UK football. United must take a stand and must handle this properly, and fast.

Distinguishing Workplace Bullying and Harassment: Recognize and Address Both
Workplace bullying and harassment are significant issues that can create hostile environments. Although they may appear similar, each carries specific behaviors and consequences. Knowing how to identify and address both can help maintain a respectful workplace.
Understanding Workplace Bullying and Harassment
Workplace bullying and harassment often overlap but differ in important ways. Bullying includes repeated, aggressive behavior that undermines an individual’s performance or self-worth. Harassment, on the other hand, involves unwelcome conduct based on protected characteristics like race, gender, or age. Both can harm employee well-being and productivity.
Identifying Workplace Bullying
Workplace bullying typically involves behaviors that are persistent and intended to intimidate or isolate. Common examples include unfair criticism, excessive work assignments, and social exclusion. Bullying often escalates gradually, making it difficult for the targeted employee to recognize the behavior’s impact early.
Recognizing Harassment in the Workplace
Harassment is generally defined as unwelcome conduct based on protected categories such as ethnicity, religion, or disability. This behavior can include derogatory remarks, unwanted physical contact, or offensive jokes. Consulting lawyers that handle workplace harassment can help employees understand their rights when facing such situations.
Key Differences Between Bullying and Harassment
While bullying focuses on personal attacks and workplace power dynamics, harassment targets specific characteristics. Bullying may or may not be illegal unless it crosses into harassment. However, both behaviors can create a toxic work environment, affecting the targeted individual’s performance and mental health.
Legal Implications of Harassment
Harassment has legal implications under various employment laws. Individuals experiencing harassment based on protected characteristics have the right to file complaints. In such cases, contacting an attorney for employment retaliation can provide guidance on steps to report incidents without fear of reprisal.
Signs of Bullying and Harassment to Watch For
Employees should watch for signs like:
Unjustified criticism or public humiliation
Isolation from projects or meetings
Offensive comments related to protected characteristics
Threats to job security or career growth
Recognizing these signs can empower individuals to address harmful behavior early.
Documenting Incidents of Bullying and Harassment
Documentation is critical when dealing with workplace bullying and harassment. Employees should note specific incidents, including dates, times, and any witnesses. This record can serve as valuable evidence when reporting to HR or consulting with legal professionals.
Steps for Addressing Workplace Bullying
When experiencing bullying, employees should first address the issue directly, if possible, with the individual involved. Reporting to HR or management is also an option. It’s essential to follow the company’s procedures for handling such incidents to ensure fair treatment and accountability.
Addressing Harassment Through Legal Channels
Legal avenues offer protection and recourse for employees facing harassment. The best wrongful termination lawyer, for instance, can assist individuals wrongfully dismissed after reporting harassment. Legal advice helps employees understand their rights and the next steps for filing a formal complaint.
Creating a Respectful Workplace
A culture of respect starts with clear anti-bullying and anti-harassment policies. Managers and employees alike benefit from training on respectful behavior, open communication, and conflict resolution. This proactive approach can prevent issues from escalating, creating a more positive work environment.
Conclusion
Understanding and addressing bullying and harassment help foster a respectful and supportive workplace. By recognizing the signs, documenting incidents, and consulting professionals when needed, employees can take active steps toward a fair work environment.

How Can Criminal Defence Lawyers Help in Protecting Your Rights?
Navigating the complexities of the criminal justice system can be daunting, especially when you are faced with accusations that could have life-altering consequences. In such situations, having a skilled criminal defence lawyer by your side is not just a luxury—it’s a necessity.
These legal professionals are equipped with the knowledge, experience, and dedication needed to protect your rights and ensure a fair trial. But how exactly can Criminal Defence Lawyers Melbourne help in safeguarding your rights? Let’s explore the crucial roles they play in the process.
Understanding Your Legal Rights
One of the fundamental ways a criminal defence lawyer helps is by ensuring that you fully understand your legal rights. Many people are unaware of the rights they are entitled to when they are accused of a crime. This lack of knowledge can lead to unintentional self-incrimination or the forfeiture of rights that could significantly impact the outcome of the case.
An intervention order lawyer will educate you on your rights, such as the right to remain silent, the right to a fair trial, and the right to be represented by an attorney. They will ensure that you are treated justly and that your rights are not violated during the legal process.
Building a Strong Defence Strategy
Every criminal case is unique, requiring a tailored defence strategy. Criminal defence lawyers assess the details of your case, including the evidence against you, witness testimonies, and police reports. They use this information to build a strong defence strategy that is designed to challenge the prosecution's case and present your side of the story.
Whether it involves disputing the validity of the evidence, questioning the credibility of witnesses, or presenting an alibi, a defence lawyer’s expertise in crafting a strategic defence can make a significant difference in the outcome of your case.
Protecting You During Interrogations
Interrogations can be intense and intimidating, often leading to statements that can be used against you in court. Without proper legal guidance, it’s easy to say something that could be misinterpreted or taken out of context.
A criminal defence lawyers Melbourne will be present during interrogations to protect your rights. They will ensure that law enforcement officers do not use coercive tactics or pressure you into making self-incriminating statements. Your lawyer will advise you on how to respond to questions and may even intervene if they believe your rights are being violated.
Negotiating Plea Bargains
In some cases, it may be in your best interest to negotiate a plea bargain rather than go to trial. A plea bargain involves pleading guilty to a lesser charge in exchange for a reduced sentence or the dismissal of other charges.
Criminal defence lawyers are skilled negotiators who can work with the prosecution to secure the best possible deal for you. They will assess the strength of the prosecution's case and advise you on whether accepting a plea bargain is the best course of action. If a plea bargain is offered, your lawyer will negotiate terms that are favourable to you, ensuring that you do not accept an unfair deal.
Representing You in Court
Should your case go to trial, having a seasoned criminal defence lawyer representing you in court is crucial. They will present your defence, cross-examine witnesses, and challenge the prosecution's evidence.
Their goal is to create reasonable doubt in the minds of the jury or judge, making it difficult for the prosecution to prove your guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Defence lawyers are trained in intervention order lawyer courtroom procedures and have experience in dealing with judges and prosecutors, which can significantly impact the trial’s outcome.
Ensuring a Fair Trial
A fair trial is a cornerstone of the justice system, and criminal defence lawyers play a vital role in upholding this principle. They ensure that all legal procedures are followed correctly and that you are given a fair opportunity to present your defence.
This includes challenging any evidence that was obtained illegally, objecting to improper questions or statements made by the prosecution, and ensuring that the jury is impartial. If there are any procedural errors or violations of your rights during the trial, your lawyer can appeal the decision or seek a mistrial.
Providing Emotional Support
Facing criminal charges can be an emotionally draining experience. The stress of the situation, combined with the uncertainty of the outcome, can take a toll on your mental health.
Criminal defence lawyers provide more than just legal representation; they offer emotional support and guidance throughout the process. They understand the gravity of the situation and are there to listen, advise, and reassure you as you navigate the legal system.
Final Thoughts
Criminal defence lawyers are your advocates, protectors, and guides in the criminal justice system. Their primary role is to ensure that your rights are protected and that you receive a fair trial. From understanding your legal rights to building a strong defence strategy, protecting you during interrogations, negotiating plea bargains, and representing you in court, their expertise is invaluable.
If you find yourself facing criminal charges, having a competent criminal defence lawyers Melbourne by your side can make all the difference in the outcome of your case. They are there to fight for you, protect your rights, and help you achieve the best possible result in a challenging and often intimidating legal landscape.

How Criminal Defense Advocates in Bangalore Can Help You Fight Charges
Facing criminal charges can be an overwhelming experience, and navigating the complexities of the legal system alone can make it even more daunting. This is where criminal defense advocates in Bangalore play a crucial role. These legal professionals are dedicated to protecting your rights and ensuring you receive a fair trial. In this blog, we'll explore how criminal defense advocates in Bangalore can help you fight charges and secure the best possible outcome.
Understanding the Role of Criminal Defense Advocates
Criminal defense advocates are specialized lawyers who represent individuals accused of criminal activities. Their primary responsibility is to defend their clients' rights and build a strong case to challenge the charges against them. In Bangalore, where the legal landscape can be intricate, having a skilled advocate by your side is essential to ensure you navigate the legal process effectively.
Protecting Your Legal Rights
One of the most critical roles of a criminal defense advocate is to protect your legal rights throughout the judicial process. From the moment you are charged with a crime, you have certain rights under the law, including the right to remain silent, the right to legal representation, and the right to a fair trial. A criminal defense advocate ensures that these rights are upheld and that you are not subjected to any form of coercion, unfair treatment, or legal misconduct.
Expertise in Legal Procedures
The legal system in India is complex, with numerous procedures, deadlines, and protocols that must be followed precisely. Criminal defense advocates in Bangalore are well-versed in these procedures and have a deep understanding of how the local courts operate. Their expertise allows them to file necessary motions, challenge evidence, and ensure that all legal formalities are adhered to, which can significantly impact the outcome of your case.
Building a Strong Defense Strategy
Every criminal case is unique, and a one-size-fits-all approach does not work in criminal defense. A skilled criminal defense advocate will thoroughly investigate the charges against you, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and analyze the prosecution's case. Based on this information, they will develop a personalized defense strategy aimed at challenging the prosecution's arguments and weakening their case.
For instance, if there is insufficient evidence or procedural errors were made during the investigation, your advocate may seek to have the charges dismissed or reduced. In other cases, they might negotiate plea bargains or work towards achieving the most favorable outcome possible, whether it's an acquittal, reduced charges, or a lighter sentence.
Negotiating Plea Bargains
In some cases, going to trial may not be in the best interest of the defendant. Criminal defense advocates in Bangalore are skilled negotiators who can engage with the prosecution to negotiate plea bargains. A plea bargain involves the defendant pleading guilty to a lesser charge in exchange for a reduced sentence. While this may not be ideal in every situation, it can be a strategic move to avoid the uncertainties of a trial and achieve a more lenient outcome.
Representing You in Court
If your case goes to trial, having a seasoned criminal defense advocate representing you in court is crucial. They will present your case, cross-examine witnesses, challenge the prosecution's evidence, and argue on your behalf. Their courtroom experience and knowledge of legal precedents can make a significant difference in the outcome of your trial.
Emotional Support and Guidance
Facing criminal charges can be an emotionally draining experience. A criminal defense advocate not only provides legal representation but also offers emotional support and guidance. They help you understand the legal process, keep you informed about the progress of your case, and provide reassurance during this challenging time. Knowing that you have a dedicated advocate fighting for your rights can alleviate some of the stress and anxiety associated with criminal proceedings.
Conclusion
When facing criminal charges, the stakes are high, and the consequences can be life-altering. Criminal defense advocates in Bangalore are your strongest allies in protecting your rights, ensuring a fair trial, and fighting for the best possible outcome. Their expertise, experience, and commitment to your case can make a significant difference in the trajectory of your legal journey. If you or someone you know is facing criminal charges, it's essential to seek the assistance of a qualified criminal defense advocate to ensure your rights are protected and your future is secured.

An employment lawyer in Ajax specializes in these areas, offering expertise to help you navigate complex legal situations.

Workplace Harassment: Experiencing harassment or discrimination at work can be emotionally and legally complex. A skilled lawyer can guide you through the process of filing a complaint and pursuing justice.
Employment Contracts: Reviewing and negotiating employment contracts is critical. An employment lawyer can help ensure that your contract terms are fair and protect your interests.

Legal Strategy: Based on your situation, your employment lawyer will develop a legal strategy tailored to your needs. This may include negotiating with your employer, filing a formal complaint, or pursuing litigation if necessary.
Stay Informed: Throughout the process, stay informed about the progress of your case. Your lawyer should keep you updated and answer any questions you have.
Finding the Right Employment Lawyer in Ajax

Understanding Your Rights with Toronto’s Top Wrongful Dismissal Lawyers
In the complex world of employment, wrongful dismissal is an issue that affects many workers across Toronto. Understanding your rights and knowing when to seek legal assistance is crucial for protecting yourself against unfair termination. This article delves into the essentials of wrongful dismissal, providing insights into how Toronto's top wrongful dismissal lawyers can help you navigate these challenging situations.
What is Wrongful Dismissal?
Wrongful dismissal occurs when an employer terminates an employee's contract without just cause or without providing adequate notice or compensation. This can include scenarios where an employee is let go for discriminatory reasons, without proper notice, or in violation of the terms outlined in their employment contract.
Key Rights of Employees
Employees in Toronto have several fundamental rights under employment law, which include:
Right to Notice or Pay in Lieu of Notice: Employers must provide reasonable notice or compensation instead of notice when terminating an employee without cause. The length of notice depends on factors such as the employee's age, length of service, and the nature of their job.
Protection Against Discrimination: Termination based on race, gender, age, disability, or other protected characteristics is illegal. Employees have the right to work in an environment free from discrimination and harassment.
Fair Severance Pay: Employees may be entitled to severance pay based on their years of service, especially if they have worked for the company for a long period.
Right to Challenge Unjust Termination: If an employee believes they have been wrongfully dismissed, they have the right to seek legal recourse and challenge the termination.
The Role of Wrongful Dismissal Lawyers
Toronto's top wrongful dismissal lawyers specialize in employment law and are dedicated to protecting employees' rights. Here's how they can assist:
Case Evaluation: A wrongful dismissal lawyer will review your case to determine if your termination was unjust and whether you are entitled to compensation or reinstatement.
Legal Representation: Experienced lawyers will represent you in negotiations with your employer, aiming to achieve a fair settlement or severance package.
Litigation Support: If negotiations fail, your lawyer can file a lawsuit on your behalf and represent you in court, ensuring your case is presented effectively.
Expert Advice: Lawyers provide valuable advice on your rights and the best course of action, helping you make informed decisions throughout the process.
Choosing the Right Lawyer
When selecting a wrongful dismissal lawyer in Toronto, consider the following factors:
Experience: Look for lawyers with a proven track record in handling wrongful dismissal cases. Experience in employment law is crucial for navigating the complexities of these cases.
Reputation: Seek out lawyers with positive client reviews and a reputation for achieving favorable outcomes. Personal recommendations and online reviews can be helpful.
Communication: Choose a lawyer who communicates clearly and regularly updates you on the progress of your case. Good communication ensures you are always informed about your legal standing.
Fee Structure: Understand the lawyer's fee structure before proceeding. Some lawyers work on a contingency fee basis, meaning they only get paid if you win your case.
Conclusion
Facing wrongful dismissal can be a daunting experience, but knowing your rights and having the support of a skilled lawyer can make a significant difference. Toronto's top wrongful dismissal lawyers are equipped to guide you through this challenging time, ensuring your rights are protected and you receive the compensation you deserve. Role of a Lawyer in Juvenile Crime Cases
When a young person gets caught up in the legal system, it's a scary and confusing experience. Unlike adult courts, juvenile courts focus on rehabilitation rather than punishment. However, the stakes are still high, and I, Navdeep Dhinda, as your Brampton lawyer, can be the crucial advocate a juvenile needs. I can help you navigate the system's complexities and ensure a fitting outcome. Let's delve deeper into my multifaceted role in juvenile crime cases.
Protecting Rights and Ensuring Fairness:
The juvenile justice system, while aiming for rehabilitation, still involves potential consequences that can significantly impact a young person's future. I ensure the juvenile's rights are protected throughout the process. It includes:
Understanding Miranda Rights: Juveniles have the same right to remain silent and have an attorney present during the inquiry as adults. I, as your juvenile lawyer, can explain these rights to the youth and ensure they are not infringed.
Suppression of Evidence: Improper police procedures can lead to evidence being excluded from court. I, as your attorney, can challenge illegal search and seizure methods, protecting the juvenile from unfair charges.
Due Process: Juveniles deserve an unbiased hearing. A lawyer like me can ensure the court follows proper procedures. I present evidence fairly and allow the juvenile to present their story.
Crafting a Defense Strategy:
Not every juvenile offense requires a full-blown trial. A skilled lawyer like me can assess the case and explore all available options, including:
Negotiation: Often, I can negotiate a plea bargain with the prosecutor. This can result in a lesser charge and a reduced sentence. My plea can even dismiss certain charges in exchange for admitting responsibility for a lesser offense.
Diversion Programs: Many juvenile courts offer diversion programs. They focus on rehabilitation instead of punishment. I can advocate for the juvenile to participate in rehabilitation programs. These include counseling, community service, or educational programs.
Trial Preparation: As your lawyer, I will meticulously prepare the defense if a trial becomes necessary. It includes investigating the case, interviewing witnesses, and building a solid defense strategy. Such tactics will minimize the potential impact on the juvenile's future.
Voice of the Juvenile:
Juveniles are often unwilling to speak up for themselves, especially when facing legal trouble. A lawyer like me is their voice, advocating for their best interests. I will ensure the court hears their perspective. It may involve:
Understanding the Circumstances: An attorney like me delves into the circumstances behind the offense. Was it a one-time mistake, peer pressure, or something more complex? Understanding the root cause allows for a more effective defense strategy.
Social and Psychological Factors: I can present evidence of a juvenile's mental health, family background, or educational challenges that might have contributed to the offense. It can help the court consider these factors when making decisions.
Advocating for Rehabilitation: As your lawyer, I can advocate for rehabilitation options that address the underlying causes of the offense. Thus, I will be aiming to prevent future delinquency.
Working with the Family:
Juvenile cases have a profound impact not just on the young person but also on their family. As a juvenile lawyer, I can work with the family to:
Provide Legal Guidance: Legal complexities may overwhelm parents and guardians. An attorney like me can explain the process, answer questions, and guide them through their options.
Emotional Support: The legal process can be stressful for everyone involved. I, as your lawyer, can be a source of support. Thereby helping families understand the situation and navigate the emotional rollercoaster.
Connecting with Resources: I can connect families with social services, mental health professionals, or other resources. They can assist the juvenile.
Beyond Legal Advocacy:
A lawyer's role extends beyond the courtroom. Hence, I provide guidance and support for the juveniles as they move forward. It may involve:
Expungement of Records: Depending on the offense and outcome of the case, I can explore the possibility of expunging or sealing the juvenile record. Thus, minimizing the long-term consequences on their future opportunities.
Life Skills Development: I may recommend resources or programs to help the juvenile develop life skills. These are necessary to make positive choices and stay on the right track.
In conclusion, I, Navdeep Dhindsa, am more than just a legal defender as your Brampton lawyer in a juvenile crime case. I will champion the juvenile's rights, be a voice for their story, and be a crucial advocate for their future well-being. By navigating the legal system, building a solid defense, and working with the family, I, as your juvenile lawyer, will ensure that justice is served and the opportunity for rehabilitation remains possible.
