Sustainability Trends Shaping India's Architecture Exhibitions
In the vibrant landscape of India's architectural scene, exhibitions serve as vital platforms for showcasing innovation, trends, and sustainable practices. As we step into 2024, the anticipation for upcoming exhibitions in 2024 is palpable. Let's delve into the captivating world of architecture exhibitions, highlighting the sustainability trends shaping this dynamic industry.
Tumblr media
Upcoming Exhibitions 2024: Unveiling the Future of Architecture
As architectural enthusiasts eagerly await the unveiling of the latest trends and innovations, 2024 promises to be a pivotal year for exhibitions in India. From cutting-edge designs to eco-friendly solutions, these exhibitions offer a glimpse into the future of architecture.
Best Exhibitions in Delhi: A Hub of Architectural Innovation
Delhi, the bustling capital city, serves as a hub for architectural innovation and creativity. Each year, numerous exhibitions attract architects, designers, and enthusiasts alike, offering a melting pot of ideas and inspiration.
Among the best exhibitions in Delhi is Darc Build organized by Zion Exhibitions, renowned for their diverse range of exhibits spanning traditional, contemporary, and sustainable architecture. Showcasing the works of both established and emerging talents, this exhibition celebrates the rich architectural heritage of the region while embracing modern sustainability principles.
Trade Shows and Exhibitions: Catalyzing Industry Collaboration
Trade shows play a pivotal role in fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange within the architectural community. These exhibitions bring together industry professionals, manufacturers, and stakeholders to explore the latest products, technologies, and trends shaping the built environment.
In India, trade shows and exhibitions serve as premier platforms for networking and showcasing innovative solutions. From sustainable materials to smart technologies, these exhibitions provide valuable insights into the future of architecture and design.
Sustainability Trends Shaping India's Architectural Landscape
Amidst growing environmental concerns, sustainability has emerged as a central theme in India's architectural exhibitions. Architects and designers are increasingly integrating eco-friendly practices into their projects, driving a shift towards more sustainable built environments.
1. Green Building Certification: With an emphasis on energy efficiency and environmental performance, green building certification programs like LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) are gaining prominence. Exhibitions often feature projects that have achieved certification, highlighting their sustainable design strategies.
2. Biophilic Design: Inspired by nature, biophilic design seeks to create spaces that enhance occupant well-being and connection to the natural world. Exhibitions showcase innovative examples of biophilic design, incorporating elements such as green walls, natural light, and indoor vegetation.
3. Reuse and Recycling: The concept of circular design is gaining traction, emphasizing the reuse and recycling of materials to minimize waste and environmental impact. Exhibitions feature projects that prioritize adaptive reuse, upcycling, and sustainable construction methods.
4. Renewable Energy Integration: As we strive towards renewable energy targets, architects are exploring ways to integrate solar, wind, and other renewable technologies into building design. Exhibitions in India showcase innovative solutions for incorporating renewable energy systems, such as solar panels and wind turbines, into architectural projects.
5. Community Engagement: Sustainable architecture goes beyond the building itself, encompassing broader social and environmental considerations. Exhibitions highlight projects that prioritize community engagement, social equity, and resilience, showcasing the transformative power of architecture to create positive change.
Conclusion
In the dynamic world of architecture, exhibitions in India serve as catalysts for innovation, inspiration, and collaboration. As India embraces sustainability as a core principle, Zion exhibitions play a vital role in shaping the future of the built environment. By showcasing the latest trends, technologies, and practices, these exhibitions inspire architects, designers, and stakeholders to create a more sustainable and resilient world for generations to come. As we look ahead to the exciting upcoming exhibitions of 2024 and beyond, let us continue to champion sustainability as the cornerstone of architectural excellence.

Air's End-of-Year Youtube Video Rec-List Round-Up
In light of recent events and also because I wanted to, I have put together a rec list of various (mostly longform) videos that I've enjoyed this year. Not all of these videos were released this year, however-- I just happened to see them for the first time in 2023. For readability and quality of life purposes, I have put this list under a readmore and divided the videos up by category, then creator, which means that some youtube channels might appear in multiple categories
I reserve the right to edit this later as I remember more videos, but I feel comfortable publishing it as is, considering it has almost 100 videos on it at this point

Greece evaluates sale of Mirage 2000 jets to India 🇮🇳
Although the expected selling price is modest, Athens sees an opportunity for broader strategic cooperation with New Delhi.
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 02/08/2024 - 19:28in Military
The leadership of the Hellenic Air Force is exploring the possibility of selling the 18 Mirage 2000 EGM/BGM to India, a proposal that was communicated to the Prime Minister's office and the Ministry of National Defense of Greece.
The aircraft served until 2022 in the 332ª "Hawk" Squadron, and most of them are not in flight condition, while some were cannibalized to keep the others flying. However, it seems that there is fertile ground between the two parties and do not rule out the possibility of the subject of the sale of the fighters to be discussed during the future visit of Prime Minister K. Mitsotakis to New Delhi.
Squadron 332 struggled with problems of availability of the Mirage 2000, resulting in the abandonment of some aircraft on the runways of Tanagra and others cannibalized because they were beyond the operational life.
At the end of 2023, New Delhi decided to communicate its interest to the Greek part in acquiring used Mirage 2000, as it plans to keep these fighters in service for at least another decade. Athens, aiming to further strengthen defense relations with India, has already decided to sell the retired Mirage. The Air Force General Staff expects to profit
Tumblr media
However, the criterion for its sale is more political than economic. In the General Staff of the Greek Air Force, which is directly involved, they do not expect profits. On the contrary, they maintain modest expectations regarding the selling price of aircraft, which are unfortunately in poor condition. The experts' estimate is that, at best, they will be sold for a few million euros.
These 18 Mirage, which carried the weight of the interceptions in the skies of the Aegean Sea, were withdrawn from service in January 2022 with the arrival of the Rafale. The aircraft were inactivated due to lack of support long before the arrival of the new French fighters. However, there are still users of the French delta fighter, such as India, which maintains about 50 aircraft in three combat squads and may be interested in supplementing any losses or renewing its stock of spare parts for existing ones.
The Hellenic Air Force is also evaluating the future of the newest Mirage 2000-5 operated by Squadron 331 "Teseu". Although the support contract has improved its availability, concerns about its compatibility with evolving technologies and high integration costs, such as the proposed Link-16 terminal, have led to a reassessment.

Headcanon that Pat cheats on VK with Mitch again, during the 2023 Ashes 😈 Pat's so guilty after it happens, because the first time it happened, he at least had a nominal excuse, his marriage with VK was new, neither of them wanted it and they didn't know each other that well. This time, he has nothing in his favour. The past ten years have been idyllic, him and VK have really clicked after overcoming their rough phase, and there's no shortage of passion in their sex life. There's literally no reason for Pat to get dissatisfied and look for satisfaction elsewhere this time.
He hopes VK hasn't found out about his transgression, because deep down, he knows his husband won't forgive the same mistake twice. He thinks of a life without VK and finds out he doesn't want a life like that, he can't imagine waking up without his omega in his arms. Then he thinks of a life where he wakes up where Mitch is in his arms, his head nuzzled against his chest, and he wants it so much he aches. He's not sure which life he wants more. It's disgusting of him to wish so, but secretly, he wishes that VK never finds out about this, never suspects a thing. He wants to go on with VK being blissfully unaware of everything, waiting for Pat at home with a smile on his face and warm dinner on the table. And he can restart his affair with Mitch on the side, because by God, he can't stay away from his teammate, their connection is undeniably electric for that. It's selfish and insensitive, but Pat wants the best of both worlds-- an omega husband at home and an alpha to warm his bed on tours.
VK finds out though. When Pat gets back from the 2023 ashes, VK is standing in the hallway, a suitcase of his things next to him. And the moment Pat sees him, he knows he's lost him forever. He apologizes, begs, pleads, and grovels but VK doesn't listen to a single thing. He walks right out of the house and doesn't look back. A week later, Pat gets a notice from VK's lawyer, that he's filing for divorce. It's unrefined, but Pat resorts to threats to get VK to stay, because although his actions don't show it, he loves the omega too much to lose him. "You know your career is over if you go through with the divorce, right?"
VK laughs-- it's a cold, bitter sound. "I can't believe you've sunk so low as to pull that on me. But I should have seen it coming. I really can't put anything past you, can I? My career is my problem. I'll find a way around it. And for the record, I'd take losing my career over having my dignity compromised every time I'm with you."
True enough, VK DOES manage to find a way around losing his career. Of course, the BCCI pull out that card as soon as they hear of the divorce, but VK's incredible skills, raw talent and public popularity give him immunity that is usually not given to an omega. It helps that his friends-- Rohit, Shubman, KL, Hardik, Jasprit, Rishabh, Siraj, Shami-- practically the rest of the team threaten to resign themselves if the BCCI sack VK. In the end, the board has to give in.
Pat tries to get VK back. He flies to Delhi, and nearly pounds down the omega's door. VK opens it, only to slap his ex-husband across the face, hard, before slamming the door right back in Pat's face. Later, Pat seethes with impotent rage when he discovers that VK's blocked him on every social media platform, as well as placed a restraining order against him.
Pat kindles a proper relationship with Mitch. He's happy, he supposes. Of course sometimes he wishes that VK was still his. Of course, sometimes, he wonders how life would be like if he hadn't been unfaithful to VK. Of course when they're playing against India, Pat finds himself staring at his ex-husband, admiring his beauty, committing his every curve to memory. Of course Pat feels a surge of uncontrollable jealousy when he sees newspapers publish photos of VK walking hand-in-hand with a New Zealand beta called Kane. When he spots a ring on VK's finger, the following year, he could just about tear Kane's head off. Somehow, Pat never thought that VK could move on from him.
VK finds his happily ever after with Kane. He retires from cricket as the highest ever run-scorer. They get a house in the New Zealand countryside, and live a quiet life, away from the spotlight mostly. Their babies, Shubman and Rachin become best friends. Ten years later, Shubman marries his omega teammate, Ishan at VK and Kane's house. Rachin is Shubi's man of honour. Their best friends are with them. Kane's arm is around VK's waist. VK looks at his family and doesn't think about Pat even once, finally happy and contented.
(well, this got away from me 🫠 I know I made pat very greasy in this, but I love me a "omega takes control of their own life" narrative 🥹)
It's a very interesting idea - not one I'll use in main overse but maybe a spin off? Or if someone else wants to grab this and run please feel free!
A couple of things: firstly, by this point there is absolutely no way VK's career is under threat. If Pat restarts his affair with mitch, no one would protect him from VK's choice. As you said he's got fame in his own right, but also the BCCI marry him off to try and settle him (more on that when the VK/Pat fic starts coming) and for ten years (just under) he's been very settled, the happy little omega they wanted him to be, and playing great cricket. His career is no longer under threat and the BCCI wouldn't try and stop VK getting a divorce.
He's gonna needs some alpha friends to help him get a lawyer to take the case, seeing he's omega, but VK has all the connections he needs.
Loving the happy ending for VK but remember that he's bonded to Pat, so he'd need Pat to break his heats. Do with that what you will, but it's very established lore in my canon so not something that could be negotiated.

Importance of SEO in Today’s World
Tumblr media
It is a vital Digital marketing tool that helps the site rank on Google. Even if you have the basic knowledge and understanding, you may not have a strong grip on this multifaceted process. SEO Services is made up of different elements; it is very crucial because it makes your website more visible. In simple words, we can say that it helps in increasing web traffic and more opportunities to convert prospects into customers.
The main crucial elements of SEO are given below:
Keywords
Keywords were the only SEO technique that mattered, but that doesn’t mean they are still crucial yet. The difference is that in today’s world, keywords must be well researched and carefully selected. If you use your selected keywords, then there is a criteria that should be followed: content must be affected by those keywords in a positive way. In simple words, we can say that keywords are phrases that prospects use to find online content and that can be used to connect with prospects who are ever looking for their services to rank their site on the browser.
To find the perfect keywords, there are some steps that every SEO must follow, as given below:
i. That particular keyword must be commonly used in daily day-to-day life that is related to your content. ii. After finding the keyword, there must be a high search rate and low competition. iii.The primary keyword should also have secondary tertiary keywords, as they will add value to your business.
Conent
It is an important part of SEO because this is the vehicle that you use to reach your desired audience and also engage them. If you want to increase your visibility, you must publish a series of blogs about related topics that attract the desired audience. The content must be interesting, valuable, contain relevant information, and last but not least, be shareable with others so that we can reach a larger audience.
Content comes in different forms, like:
i) Blog writing ii) Videos iii) Podcasts iv) Local Listings
Off-Page SEO
It includes external optimization practices that happen on other sites rather than on it. The technique used for off-page SEO is backlink building to your site from external sites. The backlinks must be of high quality, which includes high domain authority (DA). There are many ways to build backlinks; some of the current best backlinks include creating infographics that will be shared, guest posting, and influencer marketing in your content.
Local Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
It is becoming increasingly important as more people use mobile devices for searches. From a survey, it was confirmed that 60% of all searches are performed locally on hand-held devices. For example, if you own a bike showroom, then local SEO ensures that when people in your area go looking for the best bike showroom in the town, they come to your site because of the SEO that is done on your site by using local keywords like “best bike showroom near me,” “Bike showroom in Delhi,” etc. In this way, local SEO works, which is also defined as creating pages for your business, also called doorways pages.
Search engine marketing
It includes paid marketing for achieving greater goals or also to get business and clients leads for their businesses. In short, we can say that businessmen pay some amount of cost to grow their business in less time so that they can get promoted and also get famed for the factfor the fact that yes, this or that company exists in the marketing.
Although search engine marketing (SEM) is not always a major component of a compressive search engine optimization (SEO) strategy, it also has its place so that it helps you achieve highly targeted audiences. You can also make your search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) work together.
Some of the paid tools of search engine marketing (SEM) are given below.
i) Google Ads ii) Social media ads iii) Pay-per-Click iv) Shopping Ads v) display ads

The New Formalist: Edward Durell Stone
This is the second part of a two-part post. Read part one.
Stone’s Academic Career
During the late 1940s into the early 1950s Stone was an “associate professor of architecture at the Yale University School of Architecture” (2). His reputation allowed him to connect with other prominent architects in academia such as Walter Gropius at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, and Pietro Belluschi, dean of MIT’s School of Architecture and Planning. He also guest lectured on architecture at Cornell, Princeton, and Stanford. (2)
A New Woman Brings a New Influence to Edward Durell Stone’s Life
Edward Durell Stone and his first wife, Sarah, divorced in 1952. After his divorce, while on a transatlantic flight, Stone found himself seated next to “Maria Elena Torchio, a fashion writer… and proposed to her before the plane landed” (1). The couple were married in 1954 and “would have two children, Benjamin Hicks Stone III and Maria Francesca Stone” (2).
Stone’s Pivotal Commission in India
In 1954 Stone’s firm was commissioned by the United States government to design a new embassy in New Delhi, India.  Stone strived to create a “modern structure that would respect the architectural traditions of its host country” (2). The embassy would define a major shift in Stone’s style which would become known as “New Formalism.” The most prominent feature of the clean, elegant building is its decorative concrete grille. Stone’s hero Frank Lloyd Wright who rarely praised the work of other architects, publicly lauded it (2,4).

Architecture critic Paul Goldberger called it “one of the best‐known pieces of American architecture of the decade” (1). The success of the United States Embassy in New Dehli established Stone’s place as a major American Twentieth Century architect. It also led to important commissions such as the “John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, … the General Motors Building in New York, and the State University of New York campus at Albany” (1). “Business Week called him ‘the man with a billion on the drawing board’ ”(3).
“These designs fused the formalism of Stone's early Beaux-Arts training with a romantic historicism, … influenced, in part, by Maria Stone's Italian origins” (2). The couple took several trips to Italy during this time which “reawakened his interest in the classical and Italianate” (2) architecture. While Stone did not intend that his work copy classical architecture he hoped that his work would embody its timelessness. (2)

Stone becomes a Celebrity Architect
Edward Durell Stone’s work garnered him publicity both at home and internationally. In 1958 Time did a cover story on the architect. He appeared on many television programs, including Edward R. Murrow’s “See It Now.” Stone published his autobiography, The Evolution of an Architect in 1962. (5)

Huntington Hartford Gallery of Modern Art
Stone’s later work “became more romantic and more highly embellished” (1), such as the Huntington Hartford Gallery of Modern Art built on Columbus Circle in New York City in 1964.
Paul Goldberger described the building as “an eccentric marble box on delicate legs with arches at top and bottom and characteristic Stone grill work tracery up and down the sides.” The structure's delicate legs caused many New Yorkers to refer to it as “The Lollipop Building.” In the mid-2000s the structure would become embroiled in a controversy over preservation.
“New York City's Landmarks Preservation Commission refused to consider its eligibility for landmark status” (2). Little of Stone’s original design remains after its renovation designed by architect Brad Cloepfil. (7)

Edward Durell Stone’s Later Work
Stone’s firm continued to “garner major architectural commissions”, and his later work includes, “the Standard Oil building in Chicago, Illinois (completed 1973); the First Bank Tower in Toronto, Ontario (completed 1975); and the Florida State Capitol in Tallahassee (completed 1978)” (2). His last residential work was the Sheldon Cohen House (1976) in Greenwich, CT. (3) Although successful, these later works earned more scorn than praise from the critics.

In 1966 Stone and his muse, Maria Elena Torch, divorced. He remarried in 1972, this time to his executive assistant, Violet Campbell La Stella. The couple had a daughter, Fiona Campbell Stone…. Declining health forced Stone to retire from active practice in 1974.” (2) His firm Edward Durell Stone & Associates, however, remained in business until 1993.
Stone’s Tributes and Legacy
During his career Stone had several honorary degrees bestowed on him including one from the University of Arkansas in 1951. (4). Stone received numerous awards for his work including the Medal of Honor from the New York Chapter of the American Institute of Architects in 1955. He became a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects in 1958 (2). He won the Horatio Alger Award in 1971. (4) The Mullins Library at the University of Arkansas holds “an extensive collection of project and personal photographs in addition to a collection of architectural drawings and papers” (2).
Edward Durrell Stone died after a brief illness in New York City on August 6, 1978. (1) His career spanned five decades and encompassed Art Deco, the influence of Frank Lloyd Wright, Modernism, and his own unique decorative style of architecture, reacting against the cold International Style. As Paul Goldberger wrote, “Mr. Stone sought not to go beyond the International Style but to turn the clock back to a personal kind of modern architecture.”
