(Donna Beneviento x Lycan Reader/OC [afab masc enby])

-
yo i wrote this months ago, soo here ya go!
i might be cringe i’m sorry if i am
donna x oc art (if you wanted to know what they look like) (attack dog vibes, dancing, js cute)
-
The ride to Castle Dimitrescu was mostly filled with the sound of hooves pulling the carriage along. You sat across from Donna, hands resting over your axe in your lap. Angie was, as always, a source of noise, randomly giggling to herself or muttering her chaotic nonsense.
It wasn’t often that Lady Beneviento left her estate, especially for long periods, but when Mother Miranda summoned the Four Lords for a meeting, there was no choice. This time, however, the two of you had arrived a few days early to plan decorations for the upcoming ball.
Donna had mentioned that the event was held annually at the castle and served as a political tool for the Four Lords and the mayors of the villages. A night of entertainment and diplomacy, where everyone could maintain their relationships with each other–or at least avoid hostility.
“Honestly, planning for these events is much more enjoyable for me than watching the children of the drunk mayors stumble about,” Donna muttered, her voice laced with a bit of disdain. “Although I do enjoy watching Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela entertain themselves.”
You let a small laugh escape your throat and said with light sarcasm, “I’d never guess you disliked social events.”
“They are tiresome,” she replied with a sigh. “Too many people. Too much noise.”
A slight grin tugged at your lips. “Well, I guess I’ll be just as lost as you then.”
She gave a slight nod. “You were raised in a village. Did you not like social events like this before working for me? I assumed that you were more sociable before your mutation.”
The mention of your past made your stomach twist. so you adjusted your tie, loosening it a bit before talking again. “I’ve always been pretty quiet,” you said, leaning against your seat a little more, then glanced out the window. “I preferred to watch from the sidelines then too.”
“Hm.” Something about her softened. It pleased her to know she wasn’t the only one who found events like this suffocating.
“At least this year, you’ll have me to keep you company.” you added, offering her reassurance you knew she wouldn’t ask for outright.
“Thank you for that.”
The sincerity in both your words lingered. Whatever this next month had in store, you wanted her to know that she had at least one person who would be there with her.
-
When the carriage finally rolled to a stop in front of Castle Dimitrescu, you straightened, reaching for the door handle. You stepped out first, then turned around to offer your hand, palm up for Donna to take as she exited after you. She hesitated for a second before placing her dainty hand in yours, stepping down gracefully.
As soon as her feet met the ground, you let go and moved to retrieve both your bag and hers.
Before you could even walk to the entrance, a familiar voice rang out from the entrance. “Oh, look who finally arrived.”
You turned to see the Dimitrescu daughters waiting at the entrance, each wearing an expression that ranged from amused to delighted. By now, you have learned that Daniela was always the first to approach. Donna quietly but lovingly greeted them.
Then, you greeted politely with a bow, “Hello, you three.”
“Don’t be uptight, we’re friends.” Cassandra let out a short laugh. “But anyway, hope you’re ready for a week of absolute boredom while Mother Miranda talks them to death.”
Bela, the most composed of the three, nodded. “Give it a day, they’ll loosen up again.” You had grown fond of them the past few months and just shook your head with a smile. “Mother is waiting in the ballroom. She’s already made a sketch for the decorations.”
Angie, never one to be left out, let out a loud cackle from your side. “Oh, don’t mind them! They’re just trying not to trip over their own feet.”
“You are just the funniest little thing.” Daniela, already entertained, scooped up Angie in her arms.
You turned to Donna. “Shall I take your bag to your room, my Lady?”
She gave a slight nod, and you carried her bag to her guest room before placing your bag down in the room adjacent to hers. This arrangement was expected, but something about the proximity made your chest bubble inside, still denying the feelings you’d been developing.
The daughters led the both of you through the grand halls of Castle Dimitrescu. When you entered the ballroom, the sight of Lady Dimitrescu herself—towering and ever-imposing—greeted you and Donna.
You immediately bowed. “Lady Dimitrescu.”
She gave a slight nod and a strange smirk before turning to your Lady. “Ah, Donna, you’ve arrived. We have much to discuss.” She then gestured at the diagram of the ballroom.
Your presence was hardly acknowledged past that, which was just fine. As the ladies turned their attention to the sketches and planned arrangements, you quietly exhaled, knowing this would be a long week.
-
The first two days were uneventful. You shadowed Donna and lingered by her side as she and Lady Dimitrescu discussed arrangements, colors, flowers, and placement. It all blended together after a while.
On the third day of your stay at Castle Dimitrescu, the other two Lords and Mother Miranda were due to arrive in the morning after breakfast.
Meetings started immediately. They were long, drawn-out discussions behind closed doors, lasting hours into the day. You, of course, were not permitted to attend. And as it turned out, neither were Lady Dimitrescu’s daughters.
Which left you all with an abundance of free time.
Too much free time actually. So you all sat around the living room, bored out of your minds.
“Ugh,” Daniela groaned, she was slumped over one of the velvet couches, “…I’m so bored.”
Cassandra sat near the fireplace, idly tossing a knife between her hands. “Same.”
“We could always spar.” Bela glanced up from her book.
“But we always spar. I wanna do something different.”
You were there a little further from everyone else, perched on an armchair. You could’ve gone back to your room today and drawn or carved, but Dani and Cass practically begged you to hang out with them. So you cleared your throat and asked, “You have an entire castle. Isn’t there something to do?”
“Not unless we want to scare some maids, which I know you don’t.” Daniela rolled onto her back.
“The ball is next month. We could come up with some more ideas or practice our waltzes.” Cassandra suggested, and at least this caught attention.
“I’m sure there’s still plenty of things to decide.” Bela set her book down.
“Ooh!” Daniela jumped up. “We could give some ideas to Mother and Donna about the music.”
Cassandra pointed at you. “You. You’re helping.”
“Helping?” You blinked.
“You were there while Mother and Donna discussed flowers, weren’t you?” Cassandra smirked. “That means you already know part of the general setup.”
You had this distinct feeling that you were about to be roped into something.
-
The conversation in the ballroom quickly jumped from decorations to waltzing, prompting them to pull you to the center of the ballroom, asking if you knew how to dance. They looked at you with glee when you murmured, “No.” They made you take your axe out of its holster and set it to the side. You were about to be made into a spectacle.
“Alright, little farmer,” Cassandra said, rolling her shoulders as she stepped in front of you, “…We’re teaching you how to dance. No hand servant of Lady Beneviento should be caught stumbling around like a fool at the ball.”
You stiffened. “I’ve never–”
Daniela waved her hand dismissing your sentence. “Yes, yes, you were a farmer, never been to a ball, never danced. We know.” She grinned. “Which is exactly why we are going to fix that!”
Bela was already positioning your left hand on her sister’s shoulder and guiding your hands into a proper hold. “Relax,” she said, amused at your tenseness, “…you’re standing like a knight going into battle. It’s a dance, not a duel.”
You swallowed, your body was naturally rigid, and you felt small next to Cassandra since she was a good bit taller than you. The moment you both attempted to move, Cassandra told you to follow her footsteps.
When you kept messing up, the brunette scolded you. “No, not like that! God, you’re going to trip and take someone down with you!” Which earned a snicker from Daniela and Bela.
“You’re so nervous! Alec, what if you get swept off your feet at the ball?” Daniela joked and gasped, placing her hands over her heart. “Wouldn’t that be romantic?”
“Not helping.” You glared.
“I think it is.” Bela smirked then stepped back to observe. “Now, try again. This time, actually listen. One, two, three. One, two, three.”
You took a breath and tried again, but you quite literally were tripping over your own feet trying to keep up with her. Cassandra sighed in exasperation. “Loosen up,” she instructed, “…or do I have to make you?” She said in a jokingly flirtatious voice.
Before you could reply, Cassandra suddenly dipped you backward with an unexpected force. You let out a startled noise, your hands gripping her in a panic.
Daniela burst out laughing. “Oh, that was perfect! Look at their face!”
Cassandra smirked, holding you in place with ease. “You better get used to it. Someone might try this at the ball.”
“Pull me up!” You hissed, face burning as Cassandra relented, pulling you upright, clearly enjoying your flustered state.
You danced with them for a while, learning simple steps and turns–since there was literally nothing else the girls wanted to do. Then you caught movement at the doorway. Donna was standing there, silent as ever, watching the four of you. She had her head tilted like she’d been unnoticed for a while now.
You let go of Cassandra and bowed your head slightly at the veiled woman, and all three turned instantly to where you were looking.
“Oh! Donna, you should dance this year!” Daniela suggested, trying to torture you both now.
You watched as your Lady stiffened slightly before she gave a small shake of her head. Donna closed the door to the ballroom and lifted her veil. You could feel how surprised Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela were, but they didn’t comment on it.
“Come on,” Cassandra added, jumping on the idea as well, “…it’s been years since you’ve actually danced, hasn’t it?”
Bela faked her thoughtfulness. “Well, if Alec has to suffer through learning, it’s only fair their Lady leads by example.”
Your heart skipped a beat. ‘Oh god.’
You were about to argue against them, remembering how you and Donna discussed preferring to stay on the sidelines just the other day, but then she decided something. Wordlessly, she stepped forward and held out a hand to you.
“My Lady?”
“Come here.” She said simply and barely above a murmur. Her boldness took you aback.
You hesitantly reached out, letting Donna take your hand. Her grip was firm, and when she stepped closer, she positioned you, placing your left hand on her shoulder and holding your right hand out. You felt your breath catch.
She moved, and you followed.
Unlike before, your steps were steadier and more controlled. Donna led you with a slow, subtle confidence that you felt in her steps, adjusting when you faltered. Her presence was grounding, and dancing was much easier when you weren’t being laughed at left and right, or being teased for your missteps. This was just a quiet glide of movement, the feeling of holding each other, the weight of her hand in yours–though you kept your eyes glued to your feet, making sure you wouldn’t step on her toes.
“One, two, three.” Donna muttered under her breath, so softly only you could hear her. “One, two, three.”
When you finally dared to meet her eye, there was something soft. It wasn’t amusement or pity, just patience.
Maybe there was a slight hint of pride in her eye, too. And there was definitely pink in both your faces.
The rest of the room stayed silent, the sisters watched the scene unfold with painfully obvious intrigue. Daniela’s jaw was slightly dropped, Cassandra had a shit-eating grin on, and Bela looked like she had just come up with a thousand witty ways to tease you after.
Donna was surprisingly unbothered by your little crowd. She slowed her movements to a stop and pulled away. But it felt like both of your hands lingered a little longer than they should’ve.
Every point of contact you had with Donna tingled, missing her touch. “Thank you, my Lady.”
Donna nodded and turned to leave, pulling her veil back over her face. “You’ll do just fine.”
Then just like that, she was gone, leaving you standing there, brain reeling.
You collectively stayed there in stunned silence, and then Bela whistled. “Well, that was quite unexpected.”
“Oh, that was adorable.”
“You’re so red.”
You groaned. You were never going to hear the end of this.
-
Your mind had been stuck on the same thought ever since you left the ballroom: dancing with Donna.
Dancing with the three sisters was fine, it stopped the boredom, but at your expense. However, dancing with Donna had been different. It was nice–more than nice.
That might be a problem.
You groaned, rubbing your hands down your face while walking through the corridors. You had caught yourself thinking about it all throughout dinner with the rest of Lady Dimitrescu’s maids, staring blankly at your plate while your brain replayed every little detail: the warmth of her hands and her gently guiding you.
You headed towards your Lady’s room so you could accompany her to the Lord’s dinner. You were doing everything you could to shove the memory aside.
Just before you could knock, the door opened.
“My Lady, I just came to escort you to dinner.” You cleared your throat.
Donna nodded, picked up Angie, and slipped past you. You trailed behind her, wanting to say something, but in your tenseness, you blurted out the most awkward thing possible.
“So…the waltz earlier was…something.”
“Something?”
“Yeah, I mean, it was…not as bad as I thought it’d be.” you said, rubbing the back of your neck and then quickly correcting yourself. “Not that I thought it’d be bad! I just thought I’d step on your toes or something, y’know I haven’t danced before, and–”
“Can’t you just say you enjoyed dancing with her?” Angie cut in.
You were stammering like an idiot, but then Donna admitted softly, “…I-I’m glad. I enjoyed dancing with you as well.”
Your brain shut down and suddenly found the floor very interesting again.
-
The next day. You barely had time to breathe before Daniela dragged you right back into the ballroom.
“Oh no, not again.” You groaned.
“Yes, again!” Bela said, already stretching her arms. “You can’t just learn in one day and expect to be prepared for the ball.”
“Donna and I aren’t even participating in that part, we’re just going to be standing around.”
“You weren’t even that bad; we were honestly just giving you a hard time,” Cassandra admitted, then smirked, “but you need to learn something very important today.”
You gave her a suspicious look. “What?”
“How to dip someone.” Daniela beamed.
You immediately wanted to stop this. “What if I drop you?”
Cassandra patted your back. “You’re freakishly strong. So no excuses.”
“We’ll start easy. Dani volunteered.”
Daniela dramatically tossed herself into your arms. “Catch me.”
You barely had time to react before Daniela leaned back, forcing you to support her weight. You caught her easily, and you had no idea if it was because of your strength or the fact that she was surprisingly light.
“Ooh,” Daniela purred. “That was smooth.”
“You jumped into it. I didn’t even do anything.” You pulled her back up to stand.
“Then actually do it.” Bela stepped in. “Here, take my hand. Lead me into it. Make sure to bend this knee a bit.”
You reluctantly took Bela’s hand and hesitantly led her. It was awkward at first, you messed up some steps but corrected it quickly. You were doing a lot better than yesterday, and when you finally felt comfortable, you dipped her with ease.
“See? Not so hard, right?” Bela grinned up at you.
The practice continued for the next hour, with you practicing different moves you’ve learned from yesterday and today. By the time Donna appeared in the doorway, your movements were much smoother.
“Oh! Donna’s back! Perfect timing!”
You turned slightly, already feeling your nerves returning when your eyes landed on Donna.
“Well then,” Cassandra glanced between you and Donna, “why don’t you two give it another go? They’re doing a lot better today.”
“Um—” You swallowed.
Donna hesitated, but stepped forward anyway. You knew she would be the one to lead for the most part. Taking your hand, she guided you through a few steps, fluid and composed. You blushed furiously from being this close to her again.
Daniela interrupted, practically vibrating with excitement. “Does this mean you’re going to join at least one dance this year?”
You both stopped.
“We have to tell Mother!” Daniela continued, clasping her hands together. “Oh! What if we convince her to have one dance where it’s just us? You, Alec, me, my sisters, and maybe some maids for us to dance with? It would be perfect!”
“It would be cute.” Cassandra admitted, “Especially if Alec stops tripping over their own feet by then.”
“I’m getting better…” you muttered.
You could see a lightbulb turn on in Bela’s head, and she gave Donna a sharp grin before suggesting, “They should dip you.”
Donna tensed slightly, and you defended her hesitation. “I don’t think that’s necessary.”
Cassandra rolled her eyes and then grabbed Daniela. “See like this.” Cassandra demonstrated to you like they hadn’t made you dip them dozens of times already, and in one smooth motion, she spun Daniela and dipped her low, holding her there.
Daniela teasingly threw an arm over her forehead, sighing dreamily like she was a swooning maiden. “Oh!” she purred, picking up on the fact that she was mimicking Donna’s softer tone.
You went bright red, while Cassandra barked out a laugh, barely holding Daniela as she wheezed. “You’re awful.”
Daniela grinned, wiggling her eyebrows at you.
Still flustered, you turned to Donna, a little quieter. “Is…that alright, my Lady?” Your brain was screaming at you for this bold move. Half your brain was yelling at you that this was the most unprofessional thing, and the other half was elated at the idea of staying close to Donna
Donna regarded you carefully. There was a pause before she gave the smallest nod.
Your breath hitched, but you mentally stomped your nerves out. Moving slowly and carefully, you mimicked the steps you had practiced for the past two hours. Donna followed with ease, letting you lead fully this time.
When you dipped her, you swore time slowed. Your hold on her was steady and controlled, just like the girls had taught you. Like yesterday, it was much different with her. The world around you faded, and nothing existed except the warmth of Donna in your arms. Her weight was nothing to you, but the trust she had in you to hold her close like this made your heart soar.
Donna stared straight into your eyes like she was searching for something in your expression. You weren’t sure if the tremble in your fingers was nerves or that other thing you kept trying to sweep under the rug.
“Like that?” You gulped, voice barely above a whisper.
Donna lingered in silence, her fingers tightening a bit on your shoulder. “...Yes.”
You suppressed a shiver at her words, then hastily pulled Donna upright and let her go, trying to get your heart to slow down. Donna adjusted her sleeves, and when you looked at her, she gave you an approving nod.
It took everything in you not to melt on the spot.
“That was perfect.”
“I didn’t think you’d actually do it.”
“I have to convince Mother to let us have a special dance now.” Daniela clapped her hands.

Note: These ideas are so cute, ofc I wrote them :)
Warnings: fluff.
Pairings: Lady Dimitrescu and her daughters x Fem!Reader.
Summary: the reader escapes her abusive household and founds shelter in Lady Dimitrescu’s castle.
@screechinginthevoid
Bela watched the weird human that was resting in her mother’s bed. Usually, outsiders end up in the cellar, and if it happens to end up in her room they are hanged from the ceiling. This was a very rare case. It’s been a while since her mother would bring someone in her bed, but her dating life faded with their growth. Alcina spent and incredible amount of energy and patience to raise them, hence she didn’t had time to herself like she used to. Still, this person couldn’t be a date since she looked very young.
Her curiosity grew stronger and approached the edge of the bed, where she bent slightly so she can take a closer look on the human. Cassandra appeared behind her, sharing the same curiosity.
“What happened again?”
“I saw her running in the forest near the Beneviento house. She seemed like she was running from someone and judging by how she was looking, she might’ve been doing that for some time. When I approached her she screamed and fainted. Since I didn’t know from where she came from, I brought her into the castle. I proposed to mother that she can become our next dinner, and she seemed fine with the idea until I explained the whole story. Then she told me to bring her into her bed where she’s been laying ever since.”
“Do you really want to eat that?” She pointed to the girl with a disgusted look on her face. The girl was very dirty and had an unpleasant smell.
Bela was about to respond but Alcina interrupted their conversation by entering the room.
“Now, now girls, what have I taught you? We respect our guests. Let her rest.” “Of course, mother.”
They left in their typical swarm of bugs. Alcina sat carefully, not to wake her up, on the edge of the bed and brushed off some strands of hair.
“I don’t blame you, my daughter can make quite an…entrance. I had troubles accommodate at the beginning too. Please forgive Bela, I’m still struggling to teach her and her sisters some manners.” Alcina’s mellow, listenable, voice continued to whisper an apology to the way she was treated.
“From who were you running?”. Alcina figured that no one will dare wondering around house Beneviento, mostly because they were freaked out by Donna’s dolls, especially by Angie. Seeing the girl didn’t give any sign of waking up, she decided it’s better to leave.
She woke up in a peaceful ambient, dominated by the faint sound of the burning fireplace. She succumbed to the warm and let herself to slack a little in the comfortable mattress. It was nothing like her cold, disturbing home. The more she begin to compare, the more she remembered why she was in the woods, far away from home, and why she felt better in this strange, yet welcoming place.
As much as she wanted to stay, she knew she couldn’t abuse of the castle residents kindness too long. Besides, she wasn’t willing to meet them since her last encounter shocked her to the point where she lost consciousness. At first she though there were just a few, hungry bugs, but then the swarm got bigger and bigger until a person emerged from it. Then everything went black.
She made her way into he castle in a way to not alert anyone, but he truth is the girls were watching from distance her attempt to find the exit. After big efforts she collapsed on he couch from the main hall. To her despair she heard footsteps coming near her. Alcina’s heels were tapping on the floor as she was searching for he girl. Desperate, she found a place in the corner, behind an armour to hide and waited for the host to made its appearance. When she saw the incredible tall woman coming from the stairs she felt like fainting again. Her heart rate was beyond limit, her breath was rapid, and she felt her ending coming soon.
Alcina saw her trembling from the corner of her eye, but she played along pretending to look around.
“Please, please go in the other way.” Was all she could thing about. Alcina decided not to continue to anticipation and simply walked away. Behind the armour she finally exhaled the air she kept in the lungs, not paying attention anymore to the lady that stopped in her way.
“You can’t stay there forever. I assume you are thirsty.”
She raised her head and saw Alcina staring at her with an annoyed expression on her face. Her instinct told her to run, but there was nowhere to go.
“Come on, follow me. If I wanted to kill you, you would’ve been dead by now.”
Dead. It didn’t scare her when she entered Beneviento territory, nor when she woke up here. There was no point of return. With her last strength, she supported herself on the armour and raised, following the lady with fast steps so she can catch up to her. She looked around her one last time, and saw three other girls smiling and whispering between them from the gallery. One of them was familiar.
She expected worst things than a bottle full of water and a warm bath. Alcina brought her in her private camber and allowed her to use everything from there, including the bathtub. She waited at the vanity and found little things to do to make the time pass, like fixing her make up, arranging her gloves or even the clothes from the cabinet.
A few hours have passed and the lady invited her guest to dinner.
“You can’t leave like this, I would be a bad host.”
She feasted from every dish. Seeing the way she was eating made even the daughter to feel bad about her. Cassandra rose from her seat and was constantly careful to fill the place in front of her, as long as the chalice. This nice gesture however was mistaken by the girl, because the stories she heard from the villagers still clouded her judgement. After she ate she expected to be taken to the chambers and be eaten alive, now that she was somehow in a better shape.
“I hope you enjoyed the meal. Now that you are full, let’s take you to your house.”
She passed by the girls painting, and so she as finally close to get home, but an intense feeling of sadness held her to enjoy the moment. The warm was leaving her body and was replace with a sharp, cold sensation.
“As you can see, we didn’t eat you. Trust me, we have better meat.”
Alcina’s words passed by her ear, all her attention being on he door and on the thought of her getting back home. A chill ran through her bones when Alcina pressed her thumbs over the handles. When she was about to open it, she burst into tears.
“I don’t want to go back, I’d rather stay here.” Alcina barely understood between her sobs. In the next minutes she kneeled in front of her and ran her big fingers over her cheeks, pushing away some tears.
“I knew something was wrong the moment Bela told me. You don’t have to talk with me, but you are welcomed to stay as much as you like. As we can see, we didn’t torture you.” The last line was accompanied by a shy smile, that seemed to light up the girl’s mood.
She listened to Alcina and remained as long as she needed. Days passed without her feeling any sorrow from not seeing her family. Soon, they became her new family. Alcina helped her to change her style in order to fit the castle aesthetic. She couldn’t stand seeing her in those dirty, old ones.
The girl was now sitting at her new mother’s vanity, watching her reflexion. Strands of her hair were slipping through her fingers as it was gently brushed by Alcina. Her hair got a little longer since she got here. Time was just a concept for her, now that she finally felt like home.
“How did you know?” She asked.
“Know what, dear?”
“Know that I wasn’t happy with my birth family?”
“A mother just knows dear.” And Alcina kept brushing her hair and arranging her new daughter’s appearance.

Hey folks, just wanted to share some amazing fan art I received for my fic Only the Monsters Come Out at Night and I’m still emotional over it.
Desdemona, my OFC, pictured in the center with Bela and Daniela flanking her on either side and I’m 🤧😳👌🏼🥺❤️ just in awe over it.
Thank you, you know who you are, I hope you have a fabulous day!
