I was focusing more on the QSMP, because the atmosphere of the DSMP fandom enviroment was so anti-shipping that it actively discouraged kinky or non-platonic reads of things! So situations that in another fandom I would go "huh" (two adults of a very close age assigning one of them as a parents and calling them "Papa" and "Daddy",) I did not react that way in DSMP fandom, and that's one of them. They said it was platonic, I'm happy to keep that lens in place. That is not the case for every enviroment and every relationship in the world, though.

Also like, two points. One, canon relationships are one thing, I'm more focusing on fandom responses, and how they take characters ooc and put them in different dynamics, or start expanding on canon dynamics and twisting them until they're a new thing, and how it takes on Certain Undertones that are not present in the canon.

Two: I am asking you to look into your heart. Do you truly think that people were and are quite the same way about the Puffy-Foolish relationship that they are about Phil-parental relationships. Did you see people talking about how Foolish just needed so much help and guidance and he'd just be lost without her but thank goodness Puffy was there to support him and calm his fears and make sure he sleeps peacefully and they just identify with Foolish so much. Did you see people absolutely furious that Puffy was not a note-perfect dad to Foolish and react perfectly to all his woes because othewise she's being a bad father and a bad influence and they deserve a perfect father figure in their media and she's Hurting Them by Hurting Foolish and they love the CC so they're so betrayed that he would treat them that way? Did you scroll past posts about wanting C or CC Puffy to be your Dad and take care of you and give you validation and support? Did you scroll past posts about how cute it would be if you were on the server and puffy (phil) gave you a bath and tucked you in?
