IN NELL’S DEFENSE, this isn’t the usual scenario. Between her, Alfred, and Myungdae, she’s more likely to be the one administering the treatment, not the one needing said treatment. That being said, her wounds this time around is…well it’s tame in comparison to say some of the things the other two have come back to base with. When you’ve had instances where someone is half-way to knocking on death’s door more than once, it makes, say, a bullet graze on the neck seem harmless. 

“Oh this?” Nervous laughter. Now what exactly is she supposed to tell Jing here? Nell forgot that she was supposed to meet up with Jing for…what were they going out for again? It might be the brain fog kicking in here— rationality will tell her that she’s safe, but it seems her body still thinks otherwise. The dissociation must be the way to bridge the gap. “It’s nothing. Serious, really. You know, you walk around in a dark alley and just…surprises happen?” 

Surprises in the form of a serial kidnapper that you definitely went looking for because who else is supposed to be bait?

( Myungdae and Alfred, yes, but this time, this was Nell’s decision. They can’t be only ones willing to throw themselves into danger. )

“Anyways, the point is I’m fine, we should get going–” And yet, Jing, who normally looks so chipper, like a woman made of sunshine, is frowning here as she brushes a hand over the wound. The skin there tingles; a shiver runs down Nell’s back. She’s never seen this look from Jing– one of scrutiny, anger even. Nell wonders if it’s normal for Jing to swallow her unpleasantness on the daily. There’s a lot of things, Nell realizes that she doesn’t know about Jing.

She swallows the lump in her throat. “It’ll heal. Quickly, I think.”
