ive been trying to not be petty about it but watching 'in another life i would've really liked just doing laundry and taxes with you' get massacred has been slowly driving me insane for hte past week

this got longer than I thought so were gonna put a little cut here

my best friend invalidates me a shit ton. I know they've gone thru stuff too, and some of its worse than mine, but still, I feel like they shouldn't be invalidating me.

I could be having a really shitty day, and it wouldn't matter because their day is more shit. I could have the best day of my life, and it doesn't matter because there's was bad. they can't be happy for me. the only time they have a good day is when I do, and most of the time, they're talking over me and won't let me finish what I'm saying.

it could be the smallest thing. one time I said that someone told me, "you would swallow" on the bus. they said something along the lines of "well at least your mom's boyfriend didn't say that to you," and proceeds to vent about their moms bf sexualizing them. I think thats totally fine if you do it once in a while, but they do it EVERY. TIME. their life is ALWAYS worse than mine somehow. I'm not exaggerating. when I say always, I mean it.

there was a time where it felt like I was more of a therapist than a friend to them and ir really upset me because all they would do is vent and whenever I would vent they just wouldn't care. so I stopped actually helping people with their problems and started just saying stuff like "sorry about that bro" when I used to type out a really good, helpful paragraph. and now, whenever I want to help someone, I feel like I've lost that ability because of them, and all I can say is that I'm sorry for them. it's starting to feel like I'm their therapist again.

sometimes I feel like they try to invalidate me without me knowing. like they'll turn it into a joke. I told them about a sh relapse, and they "joked" that you've never "actually" sh'd unless you've gone for the wrists. right after I told them about me RELAPSING.

It always feels like it's lies, and I think just from this small bit of me venting, you can see how. I don't want to be friends with them anymore, but I don't feel like I can cut ties because a. it feels like a codependent relationship at this point, and I just keep coming back even tho I know what they'll say to me and how they'll act. and b. I have a bad feeling that they'll kill themselves or something. it might just me another one of their possible lies (I have a feeling it is, but I'm never gonna say that to their face because that would be shitty).

I can't do this anymore, and I've been trying to slowly distance myself, and they've been noticing because, like an hour and a half ago they said they were afraid of us drifting apart. I'm scared they'll do something to themselves, but I want this all to stop because it's just digging me into a deeper and deeper hole. possibly the worst part is that no matter how much I try to distance myself, I keep coming back. it's the codependent thing, idk. I'll just find myself texting them about something I'd only tell a close friend even tho I dint want to be close with them anymore

Seeing the Super Hero AU here, and seeing like every villain kidnaps Chase b/c he's the "Only one w/out super powers and knows who the Super Heroes are." I can't help but keep thinking of maybe one the Dark Egos/Villains getting this "Ingenious Plan" of kidnapping Chase for the umpteenth time but try to make Chase the Super Villain. Having his Super Friends fight him. IDK why, now, I have this urge to start writing it!

ohhh see i loveee that dev that is the good stuff oh my goodness…. and see now here’s where a villain Anti fits in real nice…. or maybe Dark or i gUESS i could be actually creative and make up another villain but ANYWAY YES

Chase has gotten into hot water a couple times now because of his association to his vigilante friends, and it’s gotten to be almost funny to him when it’s not too inconvenient, and Jackie will joke along about it too, but Jameson is scared, Henrik is worried, and Marvin is getting more protective as it becomes clear that Chase has without a doubt become inextricably tied to each of them and that that reputation is only growing in the underground community of their opponents. Enemies start to get more cautious but less gentle with Chase. Someone snatches Chase straight out of his apartment and JBM has to negotiate his way out of seeing Chase thrown off a building. Someone crashes into Chase’s car and would have killed him, but Monochroma was there. Finally someone takes a hit off on Chase not for ransom or blackmail, but apparently just to hurt them by taking their boy away, and Chase ends up in the hospital with a bullet in his side and Blue refusing to leave it. This is not funny anymore, but it’s still okay, it’s still okay, Chase is safe for now and they’re so over-protective that it would take a more powerful, intelligent, and reckless villain than they’ve ever fought with before to take him away from them. Besides, why would they dare? Everyone who hurts Chase pays back the debt in full.

And then Chase is gone.

Monochroma rewinds fifteen times without finding who did it or how and passes out across the couch, bleeding from the nose and the eyes. Surgeon and JBM are working like wild to piece together every clue and every possibility, hacking into police scanners, checking bus and train routes, following Chase’s path for the day, everything, but their clues dwindle and dwindle until there’s no trace of him left. Blue can’t divine anything to find him. They all come back to each other going, “Well, I couldn’t, but you must have found something, right? Right?”

No. He’s just… vanished.

Jameson tacks up Missing Persons posters. Henrik reports it to the cops. Jackie is scouring the city by hand. Marvin sits in Chase’s room alone and tries to think about anything but the way it’s already starting to lose the smell of him, and weeks pass. A month passes. Two. Is he dead? Did they lose him? How could they not have saved him? Why hasn’t anything come - a note, a ransom, credit-taking, anything, anything?

On the other side of the city, right beneath their noses, Chase is meeting Anti. Hypnosis and control and conditioning and training. Chase is falling apart. Chase is losing track of what’s real. Anti shows him pictures of his friends and then triggers his shock collar. Anti shows him pictures of his friends and then dumps cold water all over his head. Anti shows him pictures of his friends and then tells him if he kills the random victim he presents Chase with, he’ll give him food for the first time in weeks, how does that sound? The hot rush of hypnotic eyes sends Chase spinning and he grips the knife Anti gives him. He’s forgetting his own name. He’s forgetting their names. Anti takes care of him. Anti renames him. Anti controls him.

Anti won’t watch these wannabe superheroes tamper down the chaos in this city anymore. He has been watching for a very long time, noting every weakness, every routine, every failure and success, until at last his plan was ready to be put in place. And now Chase is his. Jackie and his friends aren’t going to be ready for anything like this - cause they can expect a thousand different villains, sure, but they’re not going to expect their own little buddy, controlled by Anti’s overwhelming and completely unfamiliar power and filled up on it too, so Chase is this ghostly, glitching figure at the end of a hallway.

Anti gives Chase an assassination target in Blue’s section of the city, passing him a sniper and titling up his chin to make sure no traces of resilience or Chase remain in his eyes.

“You see them,” he says. “You kill them.”

Chase already knows who he’s talking about. He gives one nod and then his body glitches away, fueled by Anti’s power coursing through him, under his control now. If only he weren’t under Anti’s power…

They’ll be so horrified when they see him. Now they’ve got to fight their old friend - newly termed the Glitch by the media - all while trying to find the true Puppetmaster pulling his strings and set Chase free.

and maybe afterwards Chase still has some of Anti’s powers and has to deal with the fact that is endlessly bonded to him now no matter what he does or where he goes and he’d be scared he was still evil and experience some of Anti’s mood swings or violent cravings and even feel some of his pain or sometimes see through his eyes because of their connection and ahhh it would all be so good and angsty yesss

Don't Get Me Wrong, It Seems Like A Good Episode But It's Just Not One Of My Favorites And I Admit Freely That When I Look Back At The Series I Don't Watch It Despite The Story Being Okay And The Regular Characters Being All Right I Just Don't Like Phelan As A Character And Unfortunately We're Not Done With Him On, No He Didn't Survive Being Shot By The Museum's Security Guards But He Does Appear In A Flashback In An Upcoming Episode Called Zero Which Goes Over An Incident In Lex's Past At Place Called Club Zero Which Has Been Mentioned Before This Episode By Roger Nixon In The 4th Episode Of This Season, X-Ray But Even If I Don't Like This Episode I'm Not Going To Stop Anyone Else From Liking This Episode So I Say See It...
