TFA Redesigns Part 2: ft Team Athenia, the "new" Protectobots and Rescue Force Sigma-17

Random Lore Dump Ramblings Below the Cut:

Team Athenia is not disbanded, but they are stationed back on cybertron security while Rodimus recovers from the Cosmic Rust

Rodimus is a terrible patient and keeps trying to sneak out of the hospital and get back to work (not that he's very successful considering the damage hems undergone; there's been talk of a total reframe and that kind of scares of him)

Red Alert (as second command and technically now in-charge of the team) is VERY stressed out and struggling not to fall back into old habits and paranoia (it doesn't help that one of her conjuxes is MIA too)

Ironhide is NOT joining the Earth Team but he did visit there with Hot Shot checking a lead on an old bootcamp buddy, where he picked up his new alt mode

Brawn is... well if you ask him he says he's fine but he's as stressed as Red Alert about everything going on without a nice outlet of 'con bashing to let it out with

The Protectobots' were picked more off their frametypes then their skillsets; Sentinel got REALLY lucky there that these guys are all highly competent, quick learners

They were all required to get new paint jobs with a white base with single color accents, with the exception of First Aid (who already met the color requirements) and Hot Spot (who had the reverse- single color base with white accents)

First Aid is putting his 200% into Ultra Magnus' recovery because he does NOT want to be Sentinel's poster boy. These mechs are nice but First Aid is a doctor not some mascot. It's hard enough being taken seriously as is.

Streetwise was actually partners with Chase. In contrast to the latter's by the book attitude, he was more focused on working with people to keep them out of trouble.

Blades was another "expendable" "volunteer" for the Aerialbot project after getting bashed in treating a patient in field. (His previous frame being the same mold of Ironhide and Ratchet.) Unlike the Twins, he is not taking his forced frame change with much grace, a bit divided between fear of his new body/being forced to use it and fury for what was done to him...

Hot Spot, the unofficial "leader" of the protectobots, is trying to keep a cheerful outlook with the group of mech's he's been assigned. Honestly, he liked his previous job better, but this can't end up THAT bad, right?

Groove is the only one that signed up for the protectobots, even if he was technically trying to apply for a traveling permit to explore more organic planets with his buddy Boulder. He's testing the waters to see whether he's gonna stick around or not.

NGL, I don't really have too many ideas for the Rescuebots in TFA pre-Earth beyond "and they did their specific jobs very well" sort of thing

Chase wasn't very popular amongst his fellow cops because he was such a stickler about the rules and didn't hesitate to report any misconduct amongst his peers (taking bribes, initiating a search without a warrant, arresting without a warrant, etc.)

Heatwave and Hot Spot both trained under Inferno (Hot Spot may or may not have had a tiny, miniscule crush on his barrack buddy while they were training...)

TFA Breakdown and Knockout

Knockout was both really easy and really difficult (TFP Designs WILL be the death of me WHY ARE THEIR SO MANY MOVING PIECES) but I do love how he turned out. I'll probably shift his wheels back to his back next time though.

I don't say this kind of thing often, but I wish people would use the canonical design for TFA Breakdown, at least as a base for their designs.

Yeah, it's a recolor of Rodimus, but it's still fun to play with

Arcee's Earth Alt Mode

I like to think Ratchet took Arcee to a car show to pick out an Earth Alt Mode but of course their date(?) was crashed by oblivious (Bulkhead) and nosy (Optimus and Bumblebee) youngbots and tiny teasing pig-tailed menaces.

Won't lie, I went through the backgrounds and the allspark almanac to get a car reference I felt fit her (because frankly I still suck at drawing cars from scratch even with real life references).

Waspinator Recovery Thoughts

It's supposed to say "dysphoria" not dysmorphia- it was 3am and I am a terrible at spelling/remembering words even at my most awake sorry lol

Anyways, thinking more on Wasp's recovery and figuring himself out, because while it was unstable, he did seem to enjoy his new organic form and i think it'd be fun to explore his more complicated feelings on the whole thing.

I do think if his Techno-Organic form was more stable it would be less monstrous (something something reflecting how the second time he undergoes the process he is safe and doesn't feel the need to lash out at the world as much something something).

Despite being "cured", Wasp's body was still unstable and causing him problems

Being in a safe environment with food and shelter and his improving mental health had helped, but he still was experiencing extreme body dysphoria (i spelled it wrong in the picture because it was 3am I'm sorry lol) and discomfort.

I HC Moonracer’s was in the last group of cadet’s Rodimus trained and that she and her boot camp buddy’s might have been the reason he was so desperate to get back in field.

She learned a lot under him, though she is annoyed that he doesn’t entirely trust her aim to this day.

TFA Blaster Attempt

Random World Building Lore GO!

Blaster was forged just before end of the war as a part of the canceled "Boom Box" project. The idea was to have to trick the enemy to capture one soldier, only for said soldier to release an a crew of extra small mini-bots, codenamed "Cassettes" to infiltrate Decepticon bases and gather intel. The deployer's frame would then serve as their broadcast towers for however long the 'Con's decided to keep the corpse around.

To be completely clear- it was 100% the plan for deployer frames to serve as canon fodder and their mini's left to die once their position was no longer deemed useful.

Fortunately, the war ended before Blaster could even begin training, much less be granted any cassettes of his own. There were also whispers that the plans had been leaked to the Decepticons.

So instead of being sent to his death, Blaster serves as an underground investigative Reporter (and of course DJ) for his pirate radio station where he'll do just about anything to dig up the truth to a good, much to Autobot Council's chagrin. He may or may not be getting away with said radio station with the help of a certain member of the Elite Guard who enjoys his choice in playlists.

His day-job's a running a pet shop that never seems to sell any pets despite their excellent demeanors and conditions (he can't help it- it's in his coding to keep little guys)

TFA Yoketron Alt-Model

based on how much extra kibble Yoketron has and how narrow/flexible his armor acts, I went with a formula 3-esque racing car for him.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's had a few frame changes over the years though, given his attitude on not getting hung up on the past (unlike certain archivists)
