The receiving end of Ara's ire is like staring down the sharp edge of a knife. Her eyes are hard when they pierce into yours, merciless. Ara knows how she intimidates either by her known unstability, her eloquence, her gained superiority or a twisted mix of the three. It would have been anybody else than Annie serving her these words, it would triggered an erratic theatrical reaction of hers, a loud laughter of Awww are you judging me Honey? Followed by a grand exposé on how the world will be saved by her and the machinations in her head. She believes, more than her own existence, in this ideal she wants to create, perhaps to the point it becomes a dangerous fantasy she lives in, one she drags everything around her in. It's obsessive. It's called fanatism. Everything is different here. It's Annie. Annie being the one asking her these questions does seize her core. Ara is offended, a little hurt - wanting to believe Annie, more than anybody else would know what's in her heart and that every single action taken is to serve the causes she dedicates her life to. Despite Annie being careful about her words the way she always is, it is judgment. A brow is arched at first, then it's followed by a frown, the lines of her face resisting the urge to distort. "So you are judging me huh." A silence follows. A contemplative silence followed by slow nods from Ara's head, the type of slow nods of disapprovement that actually helps her to slow down, hold her tongue, the type of "I see" cold silence. Ara refuses to lash out, believing it is not Annie's intention to hurt her nor cause a fight yet it's hard not to. "Then tell me if my Choices are Oh so morally inferior. What does it mean to protect the neighborhood to you? Keep doing what we have been doing for YEARS?" Escalating, the last word is almost yelled, she clenches and unclenches her fists, back and forth like a mad woman trying to refrain to raise tone, to control what's always creepling under her skin. Ara is impulsive, it is something she never truly worked on. She attacks, she yells, she overpowers but here, here she is trying. "I won't' protect shit by remaining a lowlife, what we've been our entire existence : victims. There are young girls out there who are currently living the same fucking lives we lived, or you know what, even WORSE, at least I never had to sleep in the streets nor did I got abused by my own alcoholic father who lost his job because he was considered too old to serve some company who treat their employees like stoke. But I swear to fucking God that's what's happening on the daily. Do you know why?" She crosses her arms. "It's a pyramid. In a world where money is power, the only way to stop this madness is to climb the ladder, seize that wealth to be able to redistribute it. And how the FUCK am I going to do that if I don't fight equal to equal? Stealing from the Rich occasionally, we've done that, it's not enough. I need to break the cycle and to break the cycle I need to step inside of it, become part of it and make it implode from the inside." A sigh follows as she paces a bit, stretching her neck, thinking, she's jittery. "This dress - " she starts again, pointing at her own self, stopping where she is, eyes back to Annie. "That's the weapon I need to see eye to eye with the persecutors, I need to be close to them if I want to dare to take them down and dilapidate them all. But I'm all ears if you got a better idea." A sarcastic scoff escapes from her lips as she looks down shaking her head again, her hands on her hips this time. "I bet you don't. No one has. I bet this isn't even your point nor your wish to protect a goddamn neighborhood no, you just wanted to call me a sell out. How long have you been thinking that of me huh?"

Elsword – Eve: INTJ / About Add
Code: Empress.
Introverted Intuition (Ni): Eve’s entire focus is on creating her ideal kingdom, not being content to live with the flaws of the existing one. She knows exactly what she wants to accomplish, and takes actions specifically for this purpose.
Extroverted Thinking (Te): Eve views her ideal kingdom as an achievable goal, not a fanciful dream. She works hard in creating her kingdom, even to the point of building a new Nasod servant to assist her and Oberon in battle. Eve always speaks directly, even when she offends people (In the Time Trouble Vol. 7).
Introverted Feeling (Fi): Eve hides her feelings, tends to be rather reserved about most of her life. Eve doesn’t naturally understand other people’s feelings and can’t cope. At the same time, her principles and feelings are the primary motivations behind everything she does. She is opinionated and always does what she believes to be most authentically right and true to herself, no matter the immediate cost.
Extroverted Sensing (Se): Eve’s showcase her taste for aesthetics in many ways; Eve's fighting style is elegant. Her servants are named after characters from Shakespearean plays. Her Nasod servant tend to be beautiful in appearance. Eve also wants to look her best herself; her clothing is stylish, and her hair, particularly neat, has an elegance to it. Moreover, Eve’s good at handling technology, she takes photos too realistically (El★Star Profiles- Eve).
Eve notices details in her environment that need to be pointed out to other companions at El Search Party.
Beyond her exceptional focus, Eve takes the time to enjoy the beauty in her surroundings ("It is good to see diverse places and add various creatures to the database. …Though it is tiresome to fight anywhere I go… yeah…" and "A lake… it's been a long time that I am seeing a lake again. …I don't know anything about emotions but looking at a lake, I feel that my overheated circuits are being cooled."). She doesn’t dwell extensively on the past.
Code: Nemesis.
Eve was a future, big-picture oriented person. Her focus was to revive the Nasod civilization, and did not allow anything to remove her from that path. (Ni)
Eve’s primary focus is on getting things done, and easily puts aside her emotions in order to make decisions. She doesn’t stop her plan to revive the Nasod civilization. (Te)
Eve’s internal principles are firmly laid out and she does not violate them to please others. She does what she feels is right, regardless of what Add tells her. She assumes an awkward poker face. She suppressed her emotion. At the same time, we can’t deny that she is extremely emotional. She has very few friends, but she would do anything for them, even sacrifice her life so that they could live. In the Time Trouble, the main way that Eve worried about Add is not through words, but by giving his a lemonade. (Fi)
[“I won’t go.” “You’ll only get attacked by demons if you remain in this time. Do you think I’m lying?” “Even if it’s true I won’t go.” Eve refused outright. She ignored the now stunned Add as she spoke coldly. “I have the mission to revive the Nasod civilization. I have no intention of stopping my search for El, or to travel to a different timeline.” “…..What about the demons that will attack you?” “Even if what you’re talking about is true. I don’t think it’s something that can be solved by running away. I must face them head on like Nasods should.” Add’s heart burned up because he knew all too well the result of what she just said. He just gave her all the information he had. He was even prepared to get treated like a crazy person. Despite all this effort Eve didn’t waver. Even if she believed Add’s words her decision wouldn’t change. Her course of action was firm. “…..Are you sure it’s not because you can’t leave Elsword?” “I don’t know why you’d bring up his name here.” ]
She understand her own emotions on a level that allows she to both put a name to them and to pin point exactly what she’s feeling, whereas an Fe user doesn’t always recognize immediately what they are feeling (or why they are feeling it). That’ s the difference between Eve (Fi user) and Add (Fe user). Check the Epic EP.41-42 Master Road Story Quest - Add & Eve (Bringer and Esencia)
Eve: Sigh... I already told Adrian I'm leaving. You don't have to overreact.
Add: O-over react? When did I?!
I read the Time Trouble Vol. 6-7 Code: Empress's passage.
[Add changed the topic when the atmosphere inside the tent turned cold all of a sudden. “So why are you and Rena so wary of Lu? Although Lu is a demon she’s…..” “Isn’t it stranger to trust her?” Eve spoke sharply. “This case is different than Chung and Ara. Ara had her relative become a demon and Chung understood this. But Lu and Ciel are demon and her servant. Don’t you think it’s too much of an excessive request to ask someone who lost their own kind to demons to accept those two?” Add couldn’t answer because Eve’s response was very heated. “Demons destroyed the key to resurrecting the Nasod civilization. It was a really horrible event…. But I was alone in the first place anyways. But Rena is different.” “…….” “Demons brutally slaughtered Rena’s people. Asking her to trust and accept demons as comrades doesn’t make sense.” Eve continued speaking with an unusually passionate tone. She realized Add was only listening to her and lowered her voice a bit. “…..I don’t know much about people’s emotions and can’t understand them. But I think that Rena’s reaction is natural.”]
She's an INTJ with an extremely well developed Fi, and she doesn't feel their emotions the way an Fe user would. Her Ni lets she know intuitively what’s going on behind the lines and then she's able to logically put together what someone is feeling by using Te. She can understand, but she cannot empathize unless she has shared experience.
[“I won’t say that I know how you feel. I don’t know about emotions anyways. But what will you say to Elesis if you kill Lu like this?” / “Lu, what do you think you’re doing by provoking Rena? There shouldn’t be anything good for you even if you win or lose here.”] When it comes to arguments, the INTJ will more likely try to convince you using logical appeals, whereas the INFJ will use emotional appeals.
She’s also pretty cutting with her mode of speech, which isn’t necessary for Te, but it’s definitely more common in Te than Ti. Te prefers direct, blunt speech, while Ti is more concerned with exactness. The difference is subtle, but there.
Auxiliary Te: Eve was a planner. As soon as she knew what she wanted, there was a plan in place to fulfill that desire. Eve wasn’t particularly interested in kiss or anything even distantly hormonal. She was preferred to speak and type in logic, rather than feelings. Eve was consistent in her habits, blunt and honest in her speech.
Tertiary Fi: Despite the fact that Eve was extremely logical, she was deeply motivated by her feelings. She cares about Ara and Elsword. Eve will fully support Add in defeating D and returning to his universe. She had a strong sense of morality and didn’t trust Lu (a demon).
Elsword:El Lady
“Elsword. How can you trust those words without any proof?”
She thinks that Add needs to prove his words with actual evidence (Te).
*
To inexperienced typers who think Eve is an INFJ, please understanding sympathetic INTJs and stop stereotyping everyone. Thanks. An Fi is always less comfortable expressing his/her emotions than an Fe. Esencia is easier to mistake as INFJ because she was a warm and loving queen and she is the only Eve to be depicted expressing emotion in her artwork. (Mature INTJs do not hide from their feelings. They face them without allowing the feelings to control them.) Generally, you don’t see this in a stereotypical INTJ girl, but you do see it in INFJ girls. Eve trust in 'friendship' and 'belief' from her friends, she develops a need for companionship, a connect with people on an emotional level and a deep selflessness. Has Esencia become an INFJ? Absolutely not. She may contemplate the same things an INFJ would, but she processes the information using NiTe logic, not NiTi logic. She may reach the same conclusions an INFJ would, but reaches conclusions the way an INTJ would. Esencia is an INTJ with the perspective of an INFJ. She still processes INTJ style. An INTJ with a well developed Fi will care deeply about how his/her actions and words affect other people.
“...I want... as many of my people to wake up... and live freely without being used by anyone.”
At length.
Personality can change drastically as a result of trauma. It happens subconsciously, in a part of our minds that we have little control over. However, I don’t believe it’s possible to consciously change your personality.
Ultimate-Esencia-Sariel They haven’t changed personalities.
To be honest, Esencia strikes me as an extremely mature INTJ who has learned how to be emotional.
-
Add:
An ENTP who is depressed will very much likely either appear as though absolutely nothing is wrong, or will retreat into either an Ti/Si loop, or their shadow functions (INTJ).
Life experience often changes perspective without altering cognitive function.
He hasn't changed personality at all. By the end Dominator (initially ENTP) behaves more like an INTJ –he thinks about things that are more natural to INTJs, but his mode of thought still functions like an ENTP.
He hasn't changed thought processing style (personality type); he's changed perspective.

tear apart the tenderness || iustise || trial 4.5 || re: jinki, ara, da confession in general
Make them seem guilty. Check.
Pressure them into talking. Check.
Goad them into showing. Hold on.
“How many times do I have to keep fucking saying…”
That murder was bad? That you’re evil for doing it? That you’re an idiot? That you’re an idiot? Idiot, idiot, an idiot for–
“…that you shouldn’t be talking yourself down like that?”
He looks at Jinki a second time, face less stern and more strained, as he was able to make out the clear details of his face rather than the frightening contrast of black and white splotches. He remembers that this game was specifically built to get people at each other’s throats, and it makes him relent.
What a strange time to have a change of pace.
But it was then that Katashi realizes: people do stupid things when they’re scared, don’t they?
(He thought he didn’t understand, couldn’t understand, but looking back, he realizes it wasn’t generosity. He was as scared as everyone else was; scared that it’d happen to him if he didn’t cooperate.)
And he feels like he should be mad, or at least, angrier than he already was right now, because for god sakes he killed someone, two people, and one of them was Kazuya, another good friend of his. Shouldn’t he be frothing for vengeance right now? Shouldn’t he be delivering justice for–
‘but just… know that I don’t want you, or you two to harden your big ol’ hearts off. You’ll miss those feelings when you don’t have 'em. You can’t take back something you don’t have…’
Katashi Aoyama was more than an actor. He was a liar. He would lie to get on people’s good sides, then would talk shit behind their backs to gain the trust of different crowds. He’s been tricking people as early as he can remember that he cared, when in reality he knew this world lived by the words killed or be killed. His kindness was never genuine: Katashi was a stranger, and he made sure of it, and it wasn’t his fault if people got hurt by it because he swears its out of protection. It was out of self-defense. He didn’t want to get burned again, so he simply decided he wouldn’t anymore. That was just how powerful Katashi was (in his own eyes).
He would help others solely for appearances, so people would trust him, so they’d tell them their true feelings, so Katashi would know for sure if they were going to hurt him or not–
He remembers meeting Jinki Noguchi in highschool. Pathetic, rowdy. Useless. But the more they kept crossing paths, the more they spent all that time studying together, the more he’d started to believe the lies he kept feeding to him: You’re better than you think. You’re smarter than you think.
You have the potential to do great things.
Jinki Noguchi has the potential to be great.
(You’re destined for greatness, Katashi.)
He never got how people could think so low of themselves, but he guesses he never realized that not everyone’s lives were glorified growing up.
Similarly to how he felt towards Akaji, Katashi had slowly started to think that Jinki was more. There was more to him, but something was stopping him, and seeing him do something as simple as graduate was enough to prove it. Helping Jinki graduate became less of a performative goal and more like wanting to save him, just like a hero would.
He comes back into his life in adulthood, in the bar Katashi proclaims it belongs to him now. They go out and have fun from time to time, partying in bars and drinking in host clubs, and they’re real friends now, but not close enough that Katashi felt like he was in danger. (Friends were dangerous…?)
He was never that good of a friend to him as he’d like to be. But why was all of this coming to him now?
Everyone else who had been involved in cases like these were people he wasn’t particularly close to, nothing personal of course, but it was just fact. But he shared memories with Jinki just like he did with Akaji and Mugen, and fuck, even Katashi tends to get lost in the past, too.
It was coming to him now because he was human, as much as he wanted to deny it and embrace the cold heart that was thawing. And it was human to get attached. It was human to let the past control you.
He thinks he doesn’t want Jinki to go just yet.
“Like what Hibayashi said,” he adds, folding his comb closed at long last. “The only way to prove it for sure is if he shows that he’s injured, but it appears that obstacles have settled in front of us.”
A sneer. All you do is make things complicated. But then, he steps back for once, and tries to stretch open his narrow view, and,
He thinks he understands now. Had it been Mugen or Akaji, Katashi would be covering for them too, wouldn’t he? Would that make him a bad person?
Reword it. Would caring for your friends make him a bad person? Kazu’s words repeat themselves in his head again, about not closing his heart off. It was different back that, and it was different now– straighten out the kinks, and he finally sees the flaws in his words. He never cared back then, he was just scared. Spouting blind justice won’t do good here– it never did– so he’ll try another approach.
“…We’ll just have to see around it, then. Let’s take a step back and see to his story with logic. Noguchi fully acknowledges that someone innocent will die if we mistrial, or worse– people he loves will die if he sees through a mistrial. That’s one.
Two: his fidgeting and atypical behaviour stopped as soon as he started talking. It’s difficult for someone to come up with a lie on the spot, a whole story no less, especially when you have no experience in improvisation.
"Three: some parts of his story is believable. He gave the impression he knew more than us, and he delivered. But does it truly fit? If anyone is up to play connect-the-dots between his confession and the evidence… be my guest. Because keep in mind, the evidence still matters. Evidence can’t lie.”
He’d oftentimes catch himself thinking to much to the point it hurt. and also munny is awake earlier than theyd like so brain no work yet
“And now…”
He glances towards Ume.
“You’re afraid, aren’t you?”
Another approach.
“Strange, I always thought you saw death as beautiful, but like what Aurora had said, I’m not going to send someone innocent to their death just so I can avoid pissing you off. You spout threats, but what can you really do that wouldn’t worry your beloveds?”
Sure, Katashi would also protect his bros should they find themselves in crime, but he would have worked out a strategy and a string of lies rather than force it like this.
“But if it brings any consolation…”
He stops there. Approach cancelled. Telling other people this information could potentially backfire.
So he holds his tongue, but his eyes say one thing.
He isn’t afraid to die.
“…you can always talk to him after death, should his story be true.”
…He also isn’t very good at consoling people.

“To Fluff-Kevlar: What inspired you to create ARA and the history of robots and AIs?” - Wilson Yu
Tumblr media
“I’ll break from the normal for a little to answer this one actually, it’s very relevant to this blog and my characters in general.
I’ve always been fascinated by AI characters ever since I was a kid. ARA is a combination of Melfina from Outlaw Star, “OS-tan” characters from my early internet days, the Roboticizer from Sonic, and a few other minor influences. I made ARA as a personification of the ship she operates from at first, then slowly over time turned her towards a more scientific instrument.
Science is a big part of my line of thinking, but I also realize that the mistakes and imperfections of sentience give the world colour and style, both good and bad, they make for interesting stories. I slowly moved ARA towards the kind of character who sees everything neutral, logically, and doesn’t understand why that kind of imperfection is necessary. It’s a very cliche thing in scifi for an A.I. to go rogue and try to kill all of a ship’s crew, enslave humanity, or whatnot. So I didn’t want to fall into that trap. She starts off as a nemesis to the protagonists because she sees everything as only her programming will allow, and her story, at the moment, in my head, is one about why logic and reasoning is important, but shouldn’t dictate every aspect of life.
I wanted her to be a different kind of AI character, both in the above mentioned ways, and in the sense of how a complete alien stranger to our ways of thinking might see things. To get people to appreciate the imperfections of organic life, taking the good with the bad, learning from mistakes and all that. It probably sounds like a very preachy summary, but it’s meant to be a bit more light-hearted. I don’t claim to be great at writing, but it’s an idea I’ve always liked to pursue; why a ‘technically’ perfect being would want to learn and adopt more from flawed organics, and what people from different walks of life can teach each other, what kinds of adventures they can have. Like Lord of the Rings, but using the medium of scifi.
Not that I claim for any part of this to be completely original, but I do try my best not to borrow too heavily from one source. This here is just my basic inspiration for how it all started.”

Herald At Dawn World building: religion & gods & stuff
@rivenantiqnerd here, look!
So, in herald at dawn there are six main gods. (In the fae human pantheon. Other people might have other gods, I just don't completely know what they are) Collectively they are called the Council of 7. This name makes total sense, cause there are six of them (i'm kidding. there used to be 7, but they lost of one of them). They all have separate domains, but some of the domains interact/overlap. They are as follows:
Aalis, Lady of Rivets and Gears
Ife, Knight of Ravens
Luz, Lord of Light and Dark
Ercan, Protector of Dreams
Ara, Keeper of Time
Oren, Shield of Nature
they all have titles! this relates to their domains.
i was going to talk about magic in this post too, but its already quite long, so I'm not going to and thats a post for another day. there's also a cut because, as mentioned, this is quite long.
First up:
Aalis, Lady of Rivets and Gears
Domain: Discovery, knowledge, invention, creation
Patron of: Tinkerers, inventors, scholars, blacksmiths, those who seek out new things.
Patron god of Volimere.
Aalis is fun! She's the god of learning things. I really, really like her title. It was the first one I thought of and I love it. She's the patron god of Volimere (where the story takes place), which ties in with how Volimere is a city thats very big on airships and trains and inventing.
Aalis is most commonly depicted as a very tall black woman in her 40s, wearing the outfit of an airship pilot/engineer. With a cane sword, because what am I doing with these blorbos if not giving them cool shit (yes I'm aware putting a sword in a cane makes the cane structrually weaker HOWEVER she's a goddess so hers is magic and is structually sound anyway. my logic may be flawed but thats for future me to deal with)
Tumblr media
Ife, Knight of Ravens
Domain: Love, death, loyalty, friendship, violence, protection
Patron of: lovers, warriors, mourners, embalmers, knights, protectors, raven keepers, and those with a cause.
Ife is a knight, but no one knows who they serve. They're generally depicted in full plate armor, with or without a helmet. Their image can often be found in graveyards and cemeteries, sometimes with a chainmail veil in place of the helm's facemask. They also have raven wings, cause it's cool as fuck. (In herald at dawn's world it's good luck to see a raven on your wedding day or at funerals).
oh, and they're also polyamrous. :DD at one point they were in a relationship with Oren & the now missing, presumed dead, god of Oblivion, Geffin, but they're now in one with Luz, too! (and still oren!) (I mention this entire paragraph only because they're the god of love, so it seems relevant).
Tumblr media
Luz, Lord of Light and Dark
Domain: Light, Dark, night, sun, moon, day
Patron of: meteorologists, astronomers, splunkers, those who seek light, those in darkness, the lost.
Patron god of Lutetia.
Luz is the patron of people who get lost. This has not helped them with looking for that one god (Geffin) who went missing, no one's found him. They're also the patron of Lutetia, which is the city Blake is from.
Luz is generally depicted with half black, half white hair, and wearing robes that are a mixture of both colors.
Tumblr media
Ercan, Protector of Dreams
Domain: Life, hope, curiosity, wonder, children, dreams, medicine
Patron of: children, those who dream, midwives, healers
Ercan is most commonly depicted as a young child (approx. 7) in white clothing, or as a young man in the outfit of a healer. (their heroforge isn't really the best, but I also don't have a solid image of what they look like in my head yet so)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ara, Keeper of Time
Domain: history, time
Patron of: Archeologists, historians, some scholars, recorders, and those who watch.
Ara is really, really good at fucking with time. This makes sense, because she's the god of time, however it felt important to me to state it.
Ara is generally depicted as a woman of any age in a purple dress, holding an hourglass.
Tumblr media
Oren, Shield of Nature
Domain: nature, farming, plants, animals, the Unknown, oblivion
Patron of: most Fae, nymphs, farmers, gardeners, frogs, and those who seek to forget
Oren is generally depicted as a man with black eyes wearing green robes, holding a pitchfork. He's the guy responsible for giving the fae magic. he also was not the original god of Oblivion! that was Gethin, his partner, who Vanished.
Tumblr media
Gethin, The Hidden One
Domain: oblivion, the Void
Patron of: those who seek to forget
Gethin is, you might notice, the only one without a fancy title like ''lady of rivets and gears'', or something. this is because he is missing, and his presence has not been felt/seen/noticed in the world in some 250 years. (the god of oblivion went and got lost and this is very funny to me. (one of) his partner(s) got his job)). Everyone assumes him to be dead! This is also why he is called, ''The Hidden One''. He is generally depicted as a male figure in black robes, and is never shown facing the viewer. That's the other reason he's called the hidden one.

[ sips coffee passively ] | atsuko | trial vi.i | re: aki, hideyoshi talk
"Mm, we weren't on bad terms, that's true..."
Atsuko muses over the question for a moment, hand on her chin before she gives a little nod.
Tumblr media
"I think it was because he surprised me with his sincerity to try and become a better person. To say I forgave him would be a bit too generous of a statement - a murder is a murder, not to mention the murder of the person I held dearest to me."
"But the murder he committed was different than every other murder here, wasn't it? For one thing, it wasn't in person, and for another, he didn't commit it with the actual intention to kill or save someone, but simply due to his lack of belief in this situation; a stupid, terrible, catastrophic mistake, but a mistake that wasn't premeditated nor an accurate depiction of any of his moral bearings. All it proved was that he was impulsive."
Tumblr media
"Speaking with him, I must admit... I began the conversation with the intent to chastise him, whether to prove to him or myself that what he did was wrong. But the way he prostrated himself... Ara." She laughs a little. "It was embarrassing, honestly, in a pathetic sort of way that really made it hard for me to say accurately and vehemently, 'you're a morally flawed person', or something of that sort."
Tumblr media
"Was he a good person?" She shrugs. "I cannot say, given the absurdly brief time that I knew him. But I realized that it was selfish of me to judge him as selfish simply due to the fact that his mistakes killed someone close to me. Of course," She tosses a disapproving eye around the circle, "I can't say the same about anyone else who pressed a button. We've been over this; Kishi-san demonstrated to us that someone would indeed die if you pressed the 'kill' button for one's hostage. Those of you who pressed the button anyway don't have the same excuse as him."
Tumblr media
"So, in the end... I was unexpectedly distressed when he died because for the first time, I had faith in someone being able to surpass my expectations. To be cliche, it was akin to a light being snuffed out."
Atsuko bows after that too long explanation about her feelings on Hideyoshi but the mun's got a lot of feelings so :pensive: :fist:.
"As for what's wrong with this killing game..."
Atsuko's brows furrow a bit.
Tumblr media
"In the end, it has to be something to do with Kishi-san, doesn't it? Kurusu-san was simply here to enforce the rules of the killing game, and while in normal circumstances we might not perceive that as fair, it was presented to us plainly: that we would be punished should any rules have been broken. The rules weren't kept secret or anything of that sort, so in this twisted sort of logic that this killing game abide's by, Kurusu-san's presence wasn't 'unfair'."

"So that's what you really think? What about those lunatics ready to kill someone because they find it fun?" Riamlie questioned Ara, he respected him but found the logic flawed.
"If someone can't leave other alone, then sometimes expectations must be made. There are always expeditions."

Occupation: Shinobi.
Rank: Jonin. I might give her students within time but she isn’t good with kids. Which will make it even better.
Team: Hana Inuzuka. Saisu Kamano (The guy who wanted to fight Itachi all the time but then begun worshipping him.)
Friends: Hana Inuzuka. Izumi Uchiha. She finds herself more comfortable around girls than boys. When she gets older, she befriends Kurenai, Asuma, and Shizune.
Personality: When she’s younger, she kind of has a snobby attitude towards other kids. She thinks she’s better than them since her mom is a strong Shinobi. They only people she feels inferior to is the Uchiha clan. Fugaku Uchiha is the only one her mom could never beat when they were younger so she plans to continue the rivalry for her mother with the next generation of Uchiha. (Unfortunately, Itachi is a victim of this pestering.) When she gets older, she actually becomes a bit more hotheaded but has a calm demeanor in most situations. But sometimes people see this as her being snobby and looking down on them. She is a bit selfish, especially when it comes to her life.
Alright! From what I see so far, everything seems pretty fine to me! I honestly don’t see any flaws here. She’s pretty human. :D
Clan Info:
Clan Name:  Mato clan.
Symbol: A bear claw with a silhouette of a bear on the inside.
History: it was originally a larger clan in Hoshigakure. But during the third Shinobi war, they were scattered around the world to help cease the fighting. Most are presumed dead or in hiding. The clan was founded before the first Shinobi war when their ancestors made a pact with the bear spirits making it so only their family blood can make a contract with them. Kind of like the “sage mode,” they can sync their strength with their bear spirit and temporarily have the strength of a bear, which can kill a man in one hit. But it’s very tiring so they mostly resort to Taijutsu. They connect with bear spirits at a young age and once they make a contract with a spirit, they all get a mark somewhere on their body in the shape of their clan symbol that appears when they summon their bear spirit. Mei’s is on her right shoulder blade/clavicle while Umiko’s is on the nape of her neck. Their clan beliefs are surrounded by the idea of “love” being the strongest fighting technique the clan has. Bears are normally feared and admired at the same time for its strength and power. The bear symbolizes strength, confidence, courage, and the healer for mental and physical pain. Which is where the Kekkai Genkai comes in.
Kekkai Genkai: Since the bear represents healing and protection, the Mato clan members have an ability. When they feel a strong sense of love for someone, they can use their chakra and connect it to theirs and give them strength and life. It’s normally used when someone they love is dying. But as the person heals and lives on, the former one who connected their chakra to them, gets weaker and eventually dies. It’s a hidden technique and they don’t speak of it often since it’s a clan secret. People assume the family’s Kekkei Genkai is the power and strength of the bear but it’s actually the healing ability they have. It only works when you feel a strong sense of love for someone and if they are about to pass on. But it has to be a strong sense of love. Like for immediate family or lover. If the body has been dead for one hour, they can’t do anything, the spirit is already gone. And all the body parts and organs must be intact. But the revived humans Chakra is cut roughly in half until the source of chakra from the other person finally dies.
Specialty:  Taijutsu and Chakra control. They are fast and have the speed to land a good blow but are usually low on stamina so if an enemy is able to block all their moves and tire them out, it spells bad news for them.
I like the clan. I love me some bears. The spirit aspect of it all is a little iffy as we haven’t had much to do with spirits within the Narutoverse. But hey, there is always a first.
I like how your KG has reasonable drawbacks. Reviving people is such a touchy subject as just the mention of resurrection is seen to be OP as it’s something against nature and logic but hey, it’s Narutoverse. I also like how it effects the user of the jutsu as well. May I suggest possibly making large chakra reserves a must have though for someone to use the ability? I’d imagine it takes a LOT of chakra to do it all.
Abilities:
Bear fist: Gives them the strength of a bear in their punch and can kill someone with one hit if they hit them in the right spot. Like the chest or head. Even if they were to hit someone’s arm or leg, it could actually tear blow the limb off (Have you ever SEEN a bear attack something? Some scary stuff.)
[Get that right spot hnnnngggg yes daddy. But yeah, I love me some brute strength!]
Bear palm: Condensing a large amount of chakra to the palm of their hand and with one thrust of their palm, they could destroy almost everything in the blows path. But this move is tiring since the more chakra you use, the more power the attack has.
[Super strong is super strong. Love it. <3]
If they are strong enough, they can actually project their bear and give them a physical form. Much like the summoning Jutsu but this form makes them appear almost transparent and even larger by infusing them with Chakra. They can use these for fighting large summoned beasts or long range fighting. Unlike the Susano’o, this isn’t an ultimate defense. It’s normally used for offense when they need to rest and restore their chakra to fight again. The bear has a bond with that person so it will protect them. So normally the clan members aren’t really affected by Genjutsu. Since the bear spirit could enter a rush of chakra into their bodies when it senses the host in danger and that typically breaks the genjutsu
[I like how you mentioned how it’s not like Susano’o, as it did seem like it to a point, but ay. Like before, I’d hope it takes a lot of chakra to do this. Large chakra reserves is good. Also, do the bears have personalities? <3]
History: She grew up in Konoha but her mom came to Konoha when she was a little girl from Hoshigakure. Her father is originally from Konoha. Her little sister Umiko was born in Konoha when Mei was 2. Mei’s real father, Katsuya, died when she was 3. Then her mom, Yume, remarried a civilian named Natsuhiko when Mei turned 5. Mei graduated from the Academy at age 13 like everyone else. When Mei was 9, her little sister Umiko was kidnapped by the Iwa village to learn more about their family Kekkei Genkai since most of them died out during the Third Shinobi war. When Yume arrives to save her, Umiko has been beaten half to death because of the struggle she put up. Yume decides to connect her chakra to Umiko to save her life and eventually end her own. Mei doesn’t know about this but grows suspicious when her mom retires as a Shinobi because of an “injury.” Eventually, when Mei turns 16 and Umiko is 14, Yume passes away which is 6 years after the kidnapping. Mei finally learns the truth about what her mom did when her mom’s bear spirit didn’t disappear. It actually transferred itself into Umiko and she has her bear symbol in the exact same spot as her mother did. On the nape of her neck. When Natsuhiko takes his own life he says in his suicide letter that he can’t live without Yume and he can’t raise the daughter she gave up her life for the clan for. He says he believes Yume did it because she needed someone to take over the clan since she was “ill” and Umiko was the best candidate (unfortunately, he didn’t know about the Kekkei Genkai and assumed she did it for the village.) Mei begins to loathe her sister and becomes infuriated with her mom for not choosing to live her own life and leaving her all alone. And what’s worse is Mei doesn’t understand why she did it for the clan. Mei stops believing in the Will of fire because dying for another and the village is what’s caused her so much grief. Her mom chose to die for her sister and her dad died for the village. Noble deaths, maybe, but it doesn’t make her happy. Her parents aren’t there with her so she refuses to die for anyone but herself. Which is where the story should take off. But later on in the story, when Mei turns 20 (the coming of age for the Japanese) she is presented a letter her mom left her, saying she sacrificed herself for her sister out of love which is where she explains how their Kekkei Genkai works. Because when she was growing up her mom would say “It’s something you have to feel. It can’t be taught.“
A. 6 years to die? Wow. Did she show severe change in health? Like a drastic decline?
B. Poor lil Umiko. 7 years old when kidnapped. :(
C. I like how Umiko has her mother’s bear within her. Sort of reminds me of Harry Potter where Severus Snape inherits Lily Potter’s patronus after her death.
D. Mei has character flaws! Yay!
E. I want to know what happens to Umiko as she grows up as well. How she reacts to her sister’s coming of age and attitude.
I hope you all liked it and please give me any important critiques. I’m all about constructive criticism. I got most of my bear symbolism from Native American tribes I read about in case you were thinking I pulled this information from my ass or something. Heheh…
Well, thank you for reading!
[Overall, I like your OC. The story is great and I’d love to read it! <3
Considering the feel I get from this character critique, I’d like to think that it’s not only Mei’s story but both her and Umiko’s story. <3333333]
Thank you for submitting and I hope I helped! - Dom
