Ranking the smt ivf collab Cafe as someone who will never have the chance to taste it ft. probably inaccurate translations of their names
Tumblr media
Part 1 featuring the actual meals because I forgot tumblr has an image limit
Tumblr media
1. "Godslayer" Meat Platter
We got steamed chicken and duck meat with some salsa and salad... that sounds yummy but man idk why but this just looks so unappetizing. I mean at least I can stomach duck though so I'd totally be open to eating this. But also it doesn't look like a sizable portion so hm.
6/10: presentation kills this meal sorry Nanashi
Tumblr media
2. Dagda's Large Fried Rice
Good god this is a lot of rice... I'd imagine this would pair well with Nanashi's meal. Looks like a nice batch of fried rice but I have to take points off for the overkill on the sesame seeds... I want my rice not seeds... though apparently the seeds are inspired by Dagda's color scheme so huh.
7/10: it's rice. Too much seeds. I'd complain it's a big portion but the famitsu article notes this is meant for 2-3 people so that's fair.
Tumblr media
3. 阿修羅会御用達 悪ピザ (tls to smth along the lines of Ashura-Kai Purveyor Pizza?? I didn't trust the machine tl so I'm putting the kanji)
Now this is something I'd definitely eat. A nice piece of pizza bread will always make me happy. The famitsu article notes that this was the meal most recommended by reporters.
There is one other thing to note about this one: it's meant to be split between two or three people! ... like Hallelujah and his "Bro".... 😦
10/10: I'm not immune to pizza bread and reporters really liked it so I'm sure it was delicious
Tumblr media
4. Asahi's Energetic and Healthy Coriander Salad
This one is really cute, although I have to admit I've never tried coriander but there's a first for everything! The flower is a very cute touch too, but I'm a picky guy so the peppers are a bit of an ick for me... I can't eat them in salad it needs to be put in stuff like a sandwich for me to eat it.
7/10: unsure on if this would be tasty but the presentation really sells it!
Tumblr media
5. Flynn a la Mode (aka Furin a la Mode)
Ooo now this is a yummy looking dessert! Would absolutely demolish it (sorry Flynn).
They said the pun was unintentional; instead the idea was everyone's beloved Flynn wanted to make a dessert everyone loves (I hope I'm reading that correctly 🥺)
9/10: I'd give it a 10/10 (and it really deserves one) but I'm very picky on those extra gummies surrounding the pudding...
Tumblr media
6. Jonathan's Grilled Beef Tongue
Er. Apparently chosen for Jonathan for its elegant and luxurious taste ... anyway this looks very yummy and it gets extra points for the kewpie mayo 🤤. The onions are a nice touch too... guess I have to concede and agree this is really elegant!
9/10: I've never tried tongue personally but the kewpie mayo would be enough to get me on board with eating it.
Tumblr media
7. Father's Fisherman's Meal
They want you to think Walter's dad caught the fish that went into this meal... I laughed a bit ngl. Anyway I'm always down for poke-esque meals I guess it'd come down to the quality of the meat 🤔 though the amount of fish in there might leave me wanting more...
6/10: unsure if I want to give this higher bc I don't personally know how the fish tasted... also could use more fish.
Tumblr media
8. Fairy Forest Mushrooms
Maybe they're not appetizing to you but I absolutely LOVE mushrooms. They're so yummy to me and especially when you add some nice butter for extra flavor... mmm very yummy 🤤.
8/10: I'm biased I like eating mushrooms I'd devour this in a heartbeat
Tumblr media
9. Gaston's Long Skewer Platter
This was the 2nd funniest item on the menu (you'll see the funniest one soon). Other than that, skewers are always tasty with some soy sauce and lemon for extra flavoring... although apparently it was a guessing game to discover what was inside the skewer?
7/10: unsure if i wanna play skewer roulette with Gaston 😦

i just saw ur answer about the hospital bill (bc my tumblr sucks as notifs) and oh no :((((( i hope it works out okay sending best wishes and prayers
also what tf is up with america's healthcare??? how the fuck they can ask for a thousand dollars when they initially said it was covered with insurance + the country i'm living in doesn't have the best government either but for something to cost me a thousand dollars i'd probably need multiple surgeries or something like that. also i heard calling an ambulance cost money in us???? and inhalers are so expensive? so what, do they just leave poor ppl to die? and despite that shitty healthcare system "us is the best country in the world" propaganda still exists? how?????
anyways best of luck i hope you can deal with it without any worries and hiccups! have a good night or in ur case have a good evening ig <3
no yeah healthcare here sucks i forgot how bad it is….lived in a diff country for 2 years & healthcare there was really affordable, accessible, good quality, etc & it was one of the biggest culture shocks for me….like my coworkers would go 2 the doctor allllll the time i’d get sick w like a cold & they’d be like well why don’t u go to the doctor? and i’d be like what. r u crazy….like it’s so ingrained to only ever go to the doctor if u absolutely need to that it did not even occur 2 me. i had a week where i was losing my voice & my coworkers thought i was crazy they were like um. hey. see a doctor…. i was like losing my voice won’t kill me why would i see a doctor….
anyway. thanks 4 the thoughts & prayers lol the usa does in fact suck so 😃 i’ll take whatever good vibes i can get

i know this is a stupid question but. how did you get the impostor factory font in other sigcorp games
it's not a stupid question at all, no worries!
it's not the font itself i changed, but rather the settings i use to run each game, which affects how the font is rendered.
i'll put the instructions below a read more, but it's actually somewhat easy! here's a comparison of what the game looks like before and after
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i've only ever done this on steam, so i'm not entirely sure how you'd go about this on GOG. also, i'm doing this on a windows computer, but i'm sure it's entirely doable on mac or linux as well !!
1. so first off you're gonna want to find the game you want to edit, right click it, and then click on properties (for the sake of the example i'm using to the moon, but this also works on a bird story and finding paradise!)
Tumblr media
2. then you're gonna want to go to the betas tab, click the dropdown, and select alternative (i believe linux beta and mac beta are those platforms' equivalents of the alt. build)
Tumblr media
3. afterwards, your game should start updating, and there should be an "(alternative)" next to the title. doing just this already helps the game run a lot smoother and look generally nicer. however we want that nice, integer scaled look, so there's a bit more we can do
Tumblr media
4. go to the local files tab under properties and click "browse". from there click on the game's root file and find the mkxp.conf file. open it with whatever text-editing program of your choice
5. change your settings to match the highlighted ones, then save the file
Tumblr media
(sorry in advance, i have no idea how this last part would translate to mac or linux, but here's how to do it on windows. the game still looks good without these steps, though! so don't stress it)
6. find the to the moon.exe file, right click it, and go to properties.
7. click on the compatibility tab and then click "change settings for all users"
Tumblr media
8. click "change high DPI settings" under the new popup, check off "override high DPI scaling behavior" and select "application" under the dropdown
Tumblr media
and now your game looks nice and crisp! it also doesn't scale weirdly to 64 bit computers now either, which is a huge plus!
Tumblr media
luckily, they made this a whole lot easier to do with impostor factory, all you have to do there is the first two steps, but select the integer scaling build instead ;O
anyways i hope this helped anon !! i tried to keep this as comprehensive as possible, but if you have any questions feel free to ask
(EDIT: tumblr killed the image quality so here’s an imgur album w/ all the graphical examples)

(It's fine if you don't want to publish this bc it's salty but if you could post something to let me know Tumblr didn't eat these, I would appreciate it ^^; ) Your post about feeling like Isym dislikes Eren was eye-opening. I've been bothered by some of his comments about Eren + the way the narrative has been handling Eren for the past arc, and this made me finally realize why. It feels like even after so many years of the manga, Isym still doesn't care about Eren except as a way to move- (1/3)
-the plot, and he still seems to view his MC in the most negative light possible. And now after the timeskip, it's like all of Eren's good qualities have been removed or warped to something negative, to the point it's like he's backtracked on some previous development. This arc's lack of insight to Eren was somewhat interesting at first but now it's making me feel like Eren is being written as a source of plot twists more than a character. I remember being so interested in Isym saying- (2/3)
-that Eren was no longer a slave to the story but really it's like he is more than ever, just in sort of an opposite way now- Eren's the one moving the plot now but Isym is writing him in a forced way to shock the audience with twists, rather than giving us more organic character development. That's how I feel after the last few chapters anyway. (3/3)
Referenced post.
I don’t have an issue with posting this, because you’ve been respectful in your salt! It’s okay to voice negative opinions. Especially because it stems from frustration, not blind nasty hate, so I think it’s constructive as well as liberating!
I too was very excited when I read Eren wasn’t a slave to the story anymore. Heck, I translated that part so I was like “AAAAAA”. But now it seems Isayama is just using Eren to make some point about morality and negative, tragic sacrifices or something like that. I’m not sure, because as I stated multiple times, I don’t understand the point of...some major things that happened in the past years in snk, so I’ll reserve judgment for the end.
To be honest, I feel that if there was more space for insight into the characters, especially Eren, but not exclusively, and sharing of feelings between characters, it wouldn't feel like Isayama doesn’t care about them. Like, I can pinpoint one of these few moments in chapter 108. And the previous chapter where some main characters had talked about their feelings, was way back at the end of Uprising, chapter 72 and a bit in chapter 73... Both in the story and in real life, it’s been years between those instances.
I was also pretty bummed when Isayama said Eren now represents Isayama’s darkest part - well, he called it “a part of himself that he didn’t wanna see” and I guess I’m a pessimist, but the side of our personality that we turn our eyes away from, aren’t usually pretty. And Isayama is a very critical person towards himself, so maybe that’s why he’s overly critical of Eren. Still, it is disappointing.
But just a correction, or rather, something that could be taken into consideration when taking into account that Eren’s good qualities have been turned on their head and shown as negative (or things that were previously framed as heroic are suddenly bad if it’s Eren): maybe it’s Eren who’s convinced himself he is the bad guy after all. There is a sort of negative fatalism in his perspective, I feel.
“I’ve always been this way,” he says, and after that, he looks upon himself killing people. He seems to forget that the point of that scene was saving an innocent girl from murderers and sexual slavery (and I hope seeing the scarf scene drove the point home). I just mean to say that we aren’t always the best judges of our character when we are suffering, or depressed, or when we feel guilty.
Another example: Eren, in Uprising, said he ended up thinking of himself as special when people died for his sake, and I think Isayama reiterated this in an interview (I can’t remember which one so I may be wrong!!), but I feel like it’s really unfair to Eren/Eren isn’t looking at this objectively (understandably so). Aside from the fact that we have always seen him struggle with accepting people dying to protect him, and berating himself when it happened - even feeling guilty for deaths that he hadn’t caused directly -, it is just normal to try and accept those deaths in the name of the powers he had. First of all, because those powers had already made a huge difference, and second, that’s how you keep sane. Besides, Eren felt a monster because of those powers but still decided to embrace them to help everyone, he accepted the heavy responsibility of being mankind’s hope, a title that other people gave him. It’s very similar to Levi’s situation, but you don’t see Isayama criticizing Levi for it. Because there is nothing to criticize, but somehow Eren is Bad, and Selfish, and Egocentric.
That’s why authorial intention is not that important. We can interpret what’s in the manga however we want (if it’s not a fact, ofc).
I think it was etoincognito again (but I forgot, sob) who sad that it seems like after the basement there was no mystery left so Isayama made up another mystery: Eren’s thoughts and intentions. Well, it is incredibly frustrating to love a character this much and being...cockblocked (pardon the terminology) by the author himself.
Tumblr media
I’m not sure you’re the same anon, but anyway, it’s the same topic so yeah... sob...
Let’s love them as intensely as we can!!
