So awhile ago I bought Season 2 and 3 of SPN DVDs from a thrift store and I'm finally watching it on my 14 year old computer that still has windows 7. Let's begin!

Omg this is so nostalgic for me even tho when this episode came out I was 8 years old and never heard of supernatural.

When I first watched the season 1 finale I was shocked. Like I didn't see that coming and neither did Sam and Dean! Lol

We start off the episode with them in Impala almost dead and a demon confronts them. The graphics of the demon smoke is horrendous lol

I don't get how it was night and now it's already daytime when the ambulance and fricken helicopter show up like it really took the first responders that long? Anyway.

Sam asks "are they alive?!" But the real question here is HOW could Dean and John still be alive??

Dean's finds out that he's a spirit not in body currently and honestly sometimes I wish I could jump out of my body sometimes too.

Sammy is so adorable.

Wow I'm surprised how much Dean wants to live here. He hasn't been like that for many seasons I believe.

John has messed up priorities.

Oh Dean was watching the whole I didn't remember that part. He's got every right to be suspicious of that asshole of a father.

"What the hell kind of father are you!!" I'll tell you Dean, a peice of shit one.

How can a girl be on floor choking and calling out for help and one hears? Sheesh

Dean meets Tessa and she was a reaper no? I can't remember.

Ha Sam brought an Ouiji board 😁

Dean feels like he's at a slumber party but he's never been to one probably how sad really 🥺 he would have loved slumber parties.

I can't believe his own Father left him at the hospital. He's just so awful. Didn't even say what or where he's going.

Oh right she was a reaper like I remembered.

I don't care that John to make a deal for Dean. That's not what makes a good father.

Damn yelloweyes just jumped into a reaper and then brought Dean back to life. How??

"Can we not fight?" Hmm how about you start telling the truth! Look how John makes Sam feel guilty because John is trying to distract him from the truth! Such manipulation. He says he's done the best his could. Bullshit.

Dean was such a sweet boy even John can admit that. Where did he learn that from? Mary? Cuz it certainly wasn't John.

Imagine all the bullshit you've been saying for years and then on your deathbed you open up and say you're proud of your son? Probably said that for the first time ever? Ya that's a peice of shit father. Too little too late.

Then he tells Dean he has to kill Sam. Big YIKES. Johns dead, at what cost?

Supernatural Rewatch 01x04

Phantom Traveler

(not spoiler free, I have watched up to 15x13 and this is directed to an audience that has seen that far as well) 

The only thing I remember about this episode is that Dean is terrified of flying and then it never comes up ever again (presumably this is the reason they drive everywhere)

Black eyes?? But he’s not a demon, right? I remember nothing.

Sleepy Dean, sleepy Dean. Ok, actually though, the fact that Dean can go from sleepy -> alert and grabbing for the knife under his pillow -> oh it’s just Sam pretend that you’re groggy and just woke up in a matter of seconds is … wow. He really is hard wired to protect.

Oh, and there’s another consistency, Sleepless Sam. It’s 5:45, he was awake at 3:00, already left the motel room to grab coffee. You know in season 14 when Dean says “you get three hours of sleep a night,” and Sam responds “Then I’ll sleep two.” Yeah, you think it’s an exaggeration maybe, but this boy does not know how to sleep. (I know in this particular instance it’s probably part of his grieving process, but this boy needs to take CARE of himself)

Dean: When’s the last time you got a good night’s sleep? Sam: I don’t know, a little while I guess. It’s not a big deal. Dean: Yeah it is Sam: Look I appreciate your concern – Dean: Oh I’m not concerned about you, it’s your job to keep my ass alive, so I need you sharp … seriously, you still having nightmares about Jess?

The way I see it, there are two motivations behind this line. One, Dean is uncomfortable with emotion, so he turns it into a joke, even if he is going to sincerely ask for Sam to open up, he has to get that macho “I only care about myself” line in there.  Two, Dean knows that Sam (being a type 2) doesn’t care much about taking care of himself, but when it comes to taking care of other people, he’ll do whatever it takes, so if he can reframe the need to sleep to make it so Sam is helping other people by sleeping … well, that just might work better than telling Sam he needs to worry about himself. (alternatively, it was just a joke and I’m reading too much into things....)

 Sam: So, all this, it never keeps you up at night? Never? You’re never afraid? Dean: No, not really Sam: [finds the knife under Dean’s pillow] Dean: That’s not fear, that is precaution.

 Anyway, later they talk to this guy who knew John

Jerry: You’re dad said you were off at college, that right? Sam: Yeah I was, I’m taking some time off Jerry: Well, he was real proud of you, I could tell. He talked about you all the time. Sam: He did? Jerry: Yeah, you bet he did.

Sam, actively shook by the idea that his dad cares about him, especially that his dad would be proud.

Sam: “Homeland security? That’s pretty illegal, even for us.” LOL that’s all I’ll say. Dean: “Well, it’s something new, people haven’t seen it a thousand times.” (What like, pretending to be FBI agents every episode?  Is that what you mean, Dean?)

Bad cop, good cop routine. Dean prods the vic until he’s uncomfortable and then Sam comes in with his puppy dog eyed compassion to get the answers they need.

Haha look at them so uncomfortable in suits. These little boys.

What? I forgot Dean made the EMF meter himself our of an old Walkman! Haha, this nerd. Sammy don’t make fun of him he’s so proud of himself.

Sam just cleared that fence in like, one jump. He is too tall.

Oh, Sulfur? It is a demon? Wow yeah the demon special effects have really matured since then.

Awwwwwwwwwww researching different religious beliefs about demons because they haven’t actually met any demons yet.

 The number 40 means death in biblical numerology?? Ummm … ok Dean. I was always taught that the number 40 didn’t always mean a specific amount of days, but rather it was another way to say “a long time” (for instance, when Noah was on the boat it didn’t really rain for 40 days and 40 nights, it was just a really long time) I’m gonna do a quick google.

 Ok, back to Supernatural.

“Why do you think I drive everywhere Sam” lmao. I think it’s really funny how even these early episodes are written like the audience already knows the characters. There is a very quickly established norm, and then when the episodes deviate from that norm it is very clear.

Humming Metallica calms Dean down, that is my favorite thing.

Sam: Now, who is it possessing? Dean: Well, its usually gonna be somebody with some sort of weakness. You know, a chink in the armor that the demon can worm through, somebody with an addiction or some sort of emotional distress.

Ok, I know this is one of those things that the writers probably just forgot about (or, if we’re being generous to the writers, something Sam and Dean didn’t fully understand and later learned was kind of irrelevant) but it is interesting to think that demons “usually” need to find someone with a chink in the armor. It would be interesting to determine what those chinks are throughout the series whenever people we know get possessed by demons.

I like that Dean keeps holy water in a crushed water bottle.

“if she’s possessed, she’ll flinch at the name of God.” WHAT. Oh wait, I guess they do keep that, Jack says it [Cristo] when he’s trying to test the one girl in 14x06. Man, I forgot.

Wow back when they needed exorcisms and didn’t just have demon/angel blades handy at all times. (then again, this way they save the vessel, which they don’t really seem to care about anymore….)

(The demon knew about what happened to Jessica) Sam is starting to put together that everything is rigged. O.o if only he knew how rigged.

Is it me do jtwo look extra focused on making us believe that the magic between jtwo isn't gone? I noticed every answer is turned into brothers being codependent like it's a good thing. Jensen said he hated soulless Sam because he missed being with real Sam and JP said he hated Amelia part bcoz Sam wouldn't leave Dean to rot in purgatory. Okay maybe he has a point. But even the panel was all jtwo love with raindrops and whiskers and kittens.

I don't know but it felt too good to be true. Maybe they have worked things out but still. They were all over each other as if their memories were wiped and they were put into this brothers only scripted pr drama.

And It's like suddenly they don't remember the show had found family too. Cas and Jack not even brought up. Cas is forgotten just bcoz he confessed his love? I don't understand what we or Cas did wrong to be neglected like that. I don't remember the last time they mentioned found family or tfw. It's like they all have forgotten the show didn't just run on the brothers storyline. I am a little hurt. It's good that they worked things out. But it's sad that it seems like the show is been pushed into brothers only now that all other aspects are done and dusted. I hope the reboot does some justice but I have too little hope even on Jensen.

Bro I'm still figuring if this is w*incest or Heller ask and I haven't watched any j2 panel so I'm not aware things you're saying in the first half my knowledge of j2 panel is only based on a few gifs that comes around the dash from different panel. Well, I have a really strong opinion about about the whole pr thing if there is any and j2 being nice to make peeps believe they are good friends but I don't think this fandom is ready to hear my opinion but you bought it up so I'll say it anyway

Okay so the thing is there are certain people in life you're just stuck with for whatever reason and no matter how much tantrums they throw or how self centred they are or how hard they are to deal with you just have to tolerate them cause you're stuck with them and that can be your colleague or your friend or anyone in whole world. I know everyone is not perfect and I'm not saying they are all bad they have a good side too, they could be nice and fun to hang out with but sometimes they do or say certain things that are completely opposite of your ethics or sometimes they act in certain way that it gets very difficult for you to tolerate them. And no offense people but I think j*red is that person in Jensen's life. Like 15 yrs of being brothers on a show now he can't just ends things with j*red or go out and be mad at him publically but cause they both celebrity they have to carry the whole brother thing on and that friendship too. For some people j*red must be fun and hilarious and nice person all that but pay attention to those j2m panels where j*red makes fun of misha and Jensen refuses to laugh, those are the moments when you'll see a glimpse of Jensen who's in no position to fight, sure he doesn't agree with what's going on but he can't fight about it either cause he's stuck with j*red. In conclusion pr team or not they both have to keep things going like everything is normal and Jensen has to tolerate j*red no matter what he do.

The found family and team free will topic doesn't come up as much in j2 panel is cause people asking the question are mostly the w*ncesties and their questions will revolve around Sam and Dean that's why Jackles and the other guy answer everything in that way and maybe that's why they bring everything down to brothers cause they don't have anything else to say.

If it makes you feel any better spn's legacy is destiel so Cas will never not be forgotten and keeping j2 aside misha and Alex and other cast do bring up found family topic so we're getting enough content and serotonin from where it counts so that's a win I guess

They Keep Fighting

We started season 15 with Destiel driving us to their big fight.

The bickering the sarcasm, is all over between Dean and Castiel.

Talking about frames and visual narrative, also symbolism in the dialogues, we have Sam and Dean in the same page about taking decisions, and Castiel in disagreement. This was deliberately written to show us how Dean and Castiel are walking away from each other.

It shows the mood. It also drives our attention to Castiel's intentions to separate humans from angels, he did it too when he explained Jack that Dean and Sam will die someday. And it will be linked to the very end of the show, in Wich Castiel and Jack are in another high level by rebuilding the Universe and Dean and Sam remain in Heaven.

Even when Dean is so mad At Castiel (in fact, he's mad with himself and he just put all that shit over the man he loves... Things that people used to do) even when he is mad at him, he can't stop checking on him. Because he knows Jack's death hit him strongly, and also, seeing his son being possessed by a filthy demon, it's breaking his heart. But Dean cuts his attempt of talking himself. And of course, Belphegor will mock Castiel about it.

About Belphegor, the Demon of the Divorce

At first I thought he was behaving sarcastically, as a very weird matchmaker between Castiel and Dean, but this was because he represents divorce.

He was enjoying Dean and Castiel fighting like a couple in a crisis for sure. He even will mock about Dean being handsome (indirectly Castiel being handsome). Two beautiful men in love.

Belphegor: Okay. Cool. So, people are, like, crazy good-looking now, eh?

Dean: What?

This observation is linked to season 13: "They're equally beautiful". Belpjegor is trying to mock Castiel and Dean's beauty.

Belphegor: I mean, the last time I was on Earth, I mean, I was human. Ah, it was a while ago. I mean, but, you know, we were all worshipping this giant rock that looked like a huge penis, and... Anyway, folks back then, you know? Had a lot of humps. I mean, a lot. Look at 'em now. I mean, look at you. I mean, you're, uh, you know, gorgeous.

Dean: What? Okay. When are you gonna get out of that body?

The mention of a phallic statue, and people worshipping it, is symbolically talking about Dean and Castiel being in love, passionately in love, with each other. The desire of being together. And then again, he turns to Dean's beauty. All of these comments made Dean very uncomfortable.

Another things about Belphegor enjoying the Destiel Quarrel...

First of all, let's pay attention to the spell and it's ingredients:

This spell is related to season 8 spell to close Heaven! And it's not the only reference to season 8.

And the explanation of why that heart belonged to Dean:

This has to do with the break up in episode 15x07 but also with Castiel dying in episode 15x18.

Closing this episode I want to mention two more things:

Nobody understood Castiel's silent pain, not even Dean. Castiel had to suffer seeing a demon possessing his son but also, he will have to see his body burn.

Another important reference to season 8 besides the spell was the Mausoleum with Carver's name on it.

It was a clear call back to Carver's era, to the crypt scene THE I LOVE THAT NEVER WAS because we will have ANOTHER NOT SAID ILY in this season from Dean.

And these so many call backs to season 8 not just in this season but the reminder of PURITY in season 14 with Michael are linked to the incoming Purgatory 2.0 and more Destiel.

We Are Real

Episode two, we had one couple as a Destiel mirror at the beginning, but it ended up in tragedy, just like our Destiel love story will en in 15x18.

We also had Ketch and Rowena, and Ketch dressed in pink (happiness) showing us that love can be real in wartime.

Another important scene after watching how Dean and Castiel kept working in separated teams ,was the one Castiel tried to give Dean his faith back.

CASTIEL: Ball, right. I didn't tell you about Jack, and then after what happened with your mother...

DEAN: Don't.

CASTIEL: You're angry.

DEAN: Yes, I am angry. At everything. All of it.

CASTIEL: All of it?

DEAN: This mess... all the messes. It turns out that we're just hamsters running in a wheel our whole lives. What do we have to show for it, huh? Tell me you don't feel conned. God's been lying to you, Cas, forever. You bought into the biggest scam in history.

Dean is angry for everything, but mostly, because he feels all his life has been a lie. Something written for Chuck. So he's afraid things he thought were real, are not. Like his love for Castiel. So he needs to know if Castiel is angry too. Aren't you angry that what we feel for each other is not real?

CASTIEL: You don't think I'm angry? After what Chuck did? After what he took from me? He killed Jack. But that doesn't mean it was all a lie.

DEAN: Really?

Dean needs to believe again. If not all was a lie, it could mean...?

CASTIEL: Chuck is all-knowing. He knew the truth, he... he just kept it to himself.

DEAN: Well, now that his cover's blown, everything that we've done is for what? Nothing?

Dean pushes again all his fears. He needs an answer that satisfy him.

CASTIEL: Even if we didn't know that all of the challenges that we face were born of Chuck's machinations, how would we describe it all? We'd call it "life". Because that's precisely what life is. It's an obstacle course, and maybe Chuck designed the obstacles, but we ran our own race. We made our own moves. And mostly, we did well with that.

DEAN: Did we? I'll tell you what we do know. Nothing about our lives is real. Everything that we've lost, everything that we are is because of Chuck. So maybe you can stick your head back in the sand, maybe you can pretend that we actually had a choice. I can't.

And because Dean keeps pushing, Castiel gives him the answer he needs, the answer about them, TFW, bus mostly, about Dean and Castiel:

CASTIEL: Dean. You asked, "What about all of this is real?" We are.

If this is not romantic, then what else can be?

To Conclude:

The beginning of season 15 started by deepening the incoming Destiel big fight.

All is unhoped, pain and Sadness. Despair.

But those three words said by Castiel "We are Real" gives the hopes we need.

Note:This is very old writing that’s been sitting in my drafts,I lightly edited this and decided to publish.I was younger then so I apologise if it’s too cringy or badly written.

"I still can't believe this is real!"(Y/n) was having a near meltdown,her body was jumpy and heart racing,"we really get to meet them again-"choking up a bit,she can't resist the urge to flail her arms for a bit.

Becky was just as exited,if not hella lot more."I get to meet my Sam again!This is like fanfiction coming to life,"her voice wavering at the very end.

Looking around,she sees all these people,dressed as the Winchester brothers and even Bobby."How did you convince them to come,anyway?"(Y/n) can't help,but to squint her eyes at the blonde and then give her a fake accusatory look,"i mean-no way are they gonna' just agree to this,right?"Before she could get an ansver,They heard a car skidding to a stop.

Not wasting any time,Becky ran out of the lobby towards the noise."SAM!" Her exited cries rang out,sounding more like an alarm to some.

Quickly following her outside and down the steps,the (h/c) girl sees the real Winchesters,with Becky being all over Sam.It seemed like they were not happy,including Chuck.

Briefly giving Chuck her attention"-I only borrowed your phone!" Becky returns her thirsty gaze to Sam.

Finally getting closer enough to catch the group's attention,she greets them."Becky,so..that's how you did it?"she question's her best friend,not knowing how to feel about it.

Dean looks done with literally everything.

(Y/n) quickly glances at Chuck,not knowing exactly what to do,her thoughts getting quite conflicted.Should she scold her friend or-

Becky decides to snap her best friend out of her state of confusion and plant a mental image instead,"Lighten up,they need to get their mind off of everything,we can help them,if you know what i mean."

Letting out a tired sight,(Y/n) finally truly sensed the akward atmosphere.The way Sam looked uncomfortable,the way Dean still forced his eyebrows to unite,and Chuck-his nervous energy radiating off of him,the way his eyes darted around-this whole scenery seemed quite comical in a weird way,maybe something you would see in a fanfiction."We should probably head inside."

Sam completely ignoring Becky for a split second shared a look with Dean,"did you see it too?"He nudged Dean.

"Yeah,this whole thing is weird,"he can't help,but chuckle.

Dean pulls up the bag a bit more on to his shoulder and continues to walk inside the hotel.

Weird was an understatement.

Trailing behind them out of habit,she notices Chuck doing the same,walking next to her,her heart skips a beat,'this is NOT a fanfiction,get a grip on yourself.'

The inside of the hotel is quite packed with bootleg versions of Sam,Bobby and Dean,even 'monsters' we're present,ghosts,clowns,all there,even more people had showed up.

"Hey Chuck,are you alright?" She Asks,giving him a small smile."You look really nervous,"she rembered that she just got a water bottle,so before he could give her an ansver,she pushed the bottle in his clammy hands,"you will probably need this."

Their eyes met for a brief moment and noticing how breath takingly beautiful they were,the poor girl couldn't help,but stare,she had never seen anyone with such eyes,they might have been 'only blue',but she could see the whole universe in them.

"You can do it,they adore you,Chuck."It didn't help much,but encouraging words we're all she had.'i believe in you.'

She goes to sit down,blending in the small crowd,next to Becky.Attentively watching Chucks panel.At one point or another,she can't help,but to let her mind wander to the 'feelings' section in her brain.'I don't do feelings,just no,how can people live with such a thing?It's only a chemical reaction in the brain,nothing else,you bitch!'

"You seem weirder than usual."Becky's worried voice snaps her out of inner turmoil-ish thoughts.

Becky had an eye for details,it was undeniable,even if it was directed on fandoms most of the time,she still saw more of what was happening around her,as she was sitting around those people,next to her best friend,her mind multi-tasked as to why (y/n) was acting so strange.She tried to piece the puzzle together,but she needed more puzzle pieces,and she was determined to get them.

Chuck was nervously standing on the stage,trying to entertain the crowd.At one point he started to turn the water (y/n) gave him into wine in his mouth.He cept glancing at Becky,but pretty soon his gaze kept landing on (y/n).

Every time their eyes met,she gave him the biggest smile he had ever seen,but then,seconds later a shy,encouraging one replaced it.(Y/n) was rarely that shy,but how can you keep it together if when it feels like you have ran a marathon,when you look at someone?When you feel like you will faint right on the spot?

After the first part of the panel ended,the 'ghost hunt' was about to start.Many got in 'character' with their friend and some made new friends to roleplay with.

The Winchesters still couldn't get over the insanity of it all.

The 'hunt' had officially started and people had cleared out,turned out,the hotel was haunted for real.

Chuck had bought them drinks,really nice,yellow coctails.

Leaning back in her seat,"thankyou,"s take a sip and enjoy the cool sensation gliding down my throat."so...another case,huh?"

"I might be able to see them in action!"The blonde haired girl squeals.

Chuck starts to get bummed out by the fact that Becky doesn't notice him the way he want's her to,doubt starts to creep up on him,does he even want her to?

Sam noticed Becky watching him,they made eye contact and Sam waved.She unexpectedly licked her palm and blew him a kiss.

No one could blame Becky,at one point or another,she was all of us.

"Just great."Mutters Chuck.

Later on in that evening,the adorable writer had to go back on the stage and entertain the crowd again,while Sam and Dean deal with the ghosts.

"So,uhh..who has any questions?"He asked.

Many hands shot up,including ours.

He loved his fans,but at that moment,he felt overwhelmed.

He nervously smiled and picked a person,they asked a question and he would ansver.

"How old where you,when you first fell in love?"

The question intrigued many,including the two friends.

'Who doesn't want to know such saucy details about one of their favourite authors?'

"Let's see,Uh-i fell in love for the first time at sixteen,lost my virginity,actually,but then she went around telling everyone it didn't count."

'Yikes,must have been hella akward."the (h/c) female thought,she felt a bit bad for him.

She shifted in her seat,suddenly remembering the ghost hunt happening outside.Silently hoping everything would go smoothly.Luck was never on her side.

The doors burst open and the little kids showed up,their dead,pale faces held a sickening,murderious intent.Striking terror in those who could register what was happening.

The blue eyed man leaped from the stage and ran toward them with an iron bar in his hands,swinging it up to strike,they wanished,and he was left standing by the door,with dozens of strangers wintessing everything.

Some would label this as a 'unforgettable experience.'

(Y/n) hands found themselves cluching on to Becky's,she couldn't tell if it was out of shock,fear or awe and exitement-maybe a coctail of everything.

They both saw Chuck in a new light.He was no longer the nervous,akward wreck in Becky's and (Y/n) eyes,tho' the latter never did see him as only that-he was so much more and now,others could see it too.

After the whole ordeal,the girls we're in the lobby again,exitedly conversing with one another about the convention.

"By the way,is something going on between you and Chuck?"She wiggled her eyebrows suggestively.

For a moment,her mind froze,(Y/n) body went riggid."What?"Was all she could push out.

"I mean,the interactions between the two of you are so akward to witness,the tension is killing ME!"Trying to calm down,the blonde girl continued,"it looks like something out of cheest fanfiction that everyone secretly reads,but would deny if questioned like their life depended on it!"Her voice had significantly risen in volume.

Before (Y/n) could open her mouth,she didn't get the chance to say even a word.

"Yes,it is that bad!"Becky had gotten too passionate and had caused a small scene,embarrassing her friend even more.

(Y/n) wanted to crawl in a hole and die,but more importantly,leap forward and clamp her mouth shut before the subject of her friend's monologue overhears,so that's exactly what she did in near-blind panic.

"Okay-okay i get it!" She whisper shouted,desperately wishing for this to end.

Literally seconds later,to her horror,the subject of their 'talk' appeared.

"Hey!"Plain confusion plastered on his face,brows furrowed,eyes traveling between them."Did i miss anything?"

(Y/n) quicly removes her hand from Becky's mouth,both trying to act as normal as one possibly can in a situation like that.

"Nope,everything's fine!"she finally ansvered,'could this get any worse?'Was all she could think,as the young female tried to shake off the mortification and move on.

Becky,being the good friend she is,saw an opportunity when she noticed Sam and Dean nearing the exit and called out to them,leaving her alone with Chuck,but not before wiggling her eyebrows again,and throwing thumbs up.

If Chuck noticed,he didn't mention it.

Coughing nervously,she finally met his eyes and innocently smiled,pretending like nothing happened."So,uhh...you did amazing today."She tried to find courage to say what she really wanted to say,"would you,maybe,go on a date with me...?Only if you really want to,tho'-"nervousness and fear of rejection got to her in the end,her face was burning up,she looked up at him with hope filled eyes.

This made the writer grin like an idiot,"yes,i would love to."He had been meaning to ask her out first,but she beat him to it,thanks to a certain person.He had to thank her later."By the way,Becky was right."He mentioned it with a Charming smile.
