These slugs cannot enjoy the beautiful colors and patterns that they have because their eyes are used very simply - to detect dark and light. It feeds on ascidians and stores ascidian toxins in its tissues, and then, when threatened, releases them in the form of defensive mucus.

The distribution area of ​​the Variable Neon Slug in the Indo-Pacific region is East Africa (Kenya, Mauritius, Tanzania), the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia. Nemrota cubarayana was first described by Danish scientist Rudolf Berg in 1877.
