When it comes to Astarion's opinion on Durge choosing to reject or serve Bhaal, I'm always entertained by the dichotomy between this:

And this, when you actually chose service when given the choice between that or death (and Astarion approves of your choice):

Durge: "I'm sorry, I wasn't strong enough to stand against [Bhaal]." Astarion: "Servitude or death. You didn't have a choice." - Astarion: "If the only way to control his possession is to bow to it, I suppose that is how it must be."

And if you do reject him he clearly does not want to talk about it, for one or more of reasons.

So what I'm getting from these conversations is: Astarion: "You should do your best to avoid becoming your abusive dad's slave, servitude like that is worse than death." Durge: *dies* Astarion: "IT WAS A FIGURE OF SPEECH."
