I was rly surprised talking to my mom the other day.. was saying I'd taken an interest in the 2008 financial crisis bc it'd sort of defined the latter bit of my childhood in a way and my mom was like "YES, it did." My parents never rly wanted to talk about money unsurprisingly, they'd be like "you don't know what you're talking about" and that was that. So I expected her to be like "really, you got that impression?" But she was rly emphatic, like yeah, that fucked up our whole shit.

NOT part of our narrative it seems.#Like ig “generation Z” basically #Maybe this is just a failing of my own info seeking etc. maybe everyone else is like.. discussing how fked up 2009 was at the cookout..#Too big to fail is a really good movie imo about it and it's general enough w/o sacrificing personal interest narratives #To like. Idk if you're into economics at all or market regulation there's lots of stuff you can dog-ear n research more #I started researching 2008 at all bc I was home alone n like “ok I finally need to watch this Big Short movie”#And was like >:o This shit is bonkers #Also a really good movie tho I wish they'd portrayed the main characters a little more honestly
