So, to be self-indulgent for a moment, I like to imagine Chibodee roping the other shuffles into playing Overwatch (RIP) with him

He and the gals sometimes play but they always end up with a random for the 6v6

The gals recruit Rain and Allenby from their group chat at one point and so Chibodee gets the shuffles to join him.

I think Domon would be the frighteningly deadly Zenyatta you sometimes see. I think the robot monk would pique his interest, and since you need a balanced team he could be roped into playing dedicated support because "the healer is traditionally in charge" (half-truth, from Chibodee). Playing Tank and DPS, I think he'd go for Reinhardt and Hanzo, respectively. (I just know Domon would find Hanzo attractive. Which would probably frustrate him because that fucking backstory.)

Chibodee's most familiar with the game, so he's probably the teammate who switches characters the most to gain an advantage. I think he'd be particularly good with Soldier, Reaper, McCassidy (... ask me and I'll explain), Dva, Doomfist, Orisa, Winston, and Ana.

Argo has a soft spot for Zarya (at least in SRW he does have some love for his own nationality) and he is deadly with her. He's all right with Bastion, but they never really need him in a non-tank role, because he knows what he's doing. Often the de-facto strategist when Domon and Chibodee are being dumbasses.

Sai ends up really liking how Tracer plays, and being fairly good with Pharah and Genji (though he thinks Genji as a character is kind of a square, why, Sai thinks, did he become so lame when he grew up?). Wrecking Ball is his favorite tank, Followed by Winston and Dva, and he loves Lucio's speed and wallriding abilities.

George also doesn't strike me as particularly gaming-inclined, so he mostly picks characters with "traditional" strategic roles; Shield tanks like Reinhardt and Orisa, the sniper Widowmaker, and the dedicated healer Mercy. Later on he discovers he likes how Mei and Symmetra play, and starts using a lot of them (he tried Echo. didn't like having to learn to play every character in order to take advantage of her mimicry).

Since the Gals have already snatched up Rain and Allenby, Domon gets Kyoji or Schwarz (whomever is more free at the moment) to join as their sixth. They have mixed feelings about Moira but are very good at playing her, they enjoy Hanzo, Genji, Mei, and Symmetra, and are solid with the tanks Sigma and Winston, though neither of them tank well. Their reflex is to avoid damage rather than soak it, which makes for a very inconvenient tank for the rest of the team. Often also a de-facto strategist when Domon and Chibodee are being fools. They get along pretty well with Argo because of this.

(Strangely, the pirate reminds him of a friend of his from college, but is baffled by the association. He's even more baffled when he eventually sees Andrew again, who is for some reason as buff as Argo.)

On the Gals side;

Bunny is a dedicated Sombra main. She fucking loves going invisible and dicking with people. She will play Dva, Winston, or Moira if she must. She's surprisingly good at Junkrat and Reaper when they need one.

Cath really appreciates Baptiste, though will go Ana, or Mercy if they can't keep close enough to take proper advantage of his kit. She gave Doomfist a try, but didn't gel with his fighting-game-esque mechanics, so she'll sometimes play Sigma if they need her to be tank. She'll go Ashe, Mei, Pharah, Tracer, or Torbjorn if they need to fill a DPS gap.

Shirley likes the puzzle of filling gaps in the team's needs, and plays a little of everyone. I think she favors the Junkers (Junkrat & Roadhog), Torbjorn, and Lucio.

I think Janet likes the robots, but isn't fond of Orisa or Zenyatta's gameplay. Moira (support), Bastion, Genji, Pharah, and Doomfist (DPS), and Dva, Winston, and Wrecking Ball (Tank) are more her speed.

Rain grabs Mercy at first because she finds her relatable, but quickly pivots to Ashe and McCassidy for their gunplay. She picks up Orisa or Winston occasionally, as well as Lucio (I think she'd find him attractive, and appreciate his personality).

Allenby loves smacking people around as Reinhardt, and adapts to Echo surprisingly well for someone who just picked up the game; she'll usually go with her or Tracer for DPS. She likes Brigitte for being a healer whose gameplay is similar to Rein's, and for her personality, and she enjoys flitting around as Mercy as well.

that is exactly who I imagine whenever I see this post.

Domon is exactly the kind of person to have A Routine (especially since I've settled on AuDHD Domon as a headcanon), and we have seen Kyoji mess with him, just with more of a goal in mind.

(I also kind of wonder what kind of video games, if any, Kyoji would go for. Which is very hard for me to speculate on because my answers would be extraordinarily biased towards my own tastes. )

Week 7 Recs: Fever Dreams

Week 7's theme was "Fever Dreams," all about the crackfics and other wild and wacky rides. Some of these are sheer goofy fun, and others take a chance with some crack treated seriously. This includes not one but FOUR different animal transformation fics, by the way. Here are the recs gathered from the Yeehan community, organized by rating then alphabetically by title!

When shelter worker Hanzo takes in a rescued armadillo, he doesn't expect it to be quite so much trouble. Or for it to take such a shine to him. Or for it to maybe, possibly, be more than an ordinary armadillo.

There is little to be done once Hanzo's dragons have their minds set on solving his problems (with some nudging from certain interested parties).

The fact that they are on the same side, on the same team and fighting for more or less the same cause doesn't change the fact that Hanzo Shimada and Cole Cassidy compete about everything.

After pissing off Cupid, Hanzo is cursed to do the god's bidding by playing matchmaker. His latest assignment is the most challenging yet: finding the perfect match for one Cole Cassidy.

Trust and Love in a Broken Heart by Author_of_Kheios [22,191 words] Reccer comment: "not exactly a crack fic, but I'd like to recommend "Trust and Love in a Broken Heart" by my buddy Author_of_Kheios. Hanzo accidentally gets possessed by the god of Love, but this Cupid is far kinder, more thoughtful, and more profound, than he is usually given credit for, and Hanzo and the Cowboy both get swept along for an adventure. The ending is perfectly self-contained, but also leaves the door open for further adventures"

Hanzo didn't mean to become a vessel for a god of love, but it might just be the best thing that's ever happened to him.

Jesse is not thrilled to be taking care of a swan, much less one as aggressive as the one he was sent to rescue from a local park for attacking someone, but he doesn't have it in him to turn down an animal in need.
