it had never occurred to me before to see myself that way, with such kindness, and she was so so soft about it, so loving and, surprisingly to me, so so into it.
i know thatâs not good, for me to be surprised by it, but idk, i just didnât expect her to find those parts of me attractive. i still struggle with that from time to time.
but to this day, my dear boyfriend uses the sweetest words when talking about my body and i adore him so so much for itđť more people should do it, more people should realize how tender we can be when describing our bodies and how much of a difference it can make to others

and well the thing is Eddie also does not want to leave LA. like yes Buck is gonna feel bonkers crazy clawing the wallpaper about it we all know this. but I feel like people are almost forgetting also. that Eddie wants to be in LA. their life is in LA they've built a home in LA. he does not want to leave the 118 and his family and everything and go to El Paso he does not want to live in El Paso he does not want to live near his parents. and he doesn't want Chris to be there. he just wants Chris happy and to be with his kid and since he thinks there is no budging on Chris coming home and he is trying to let him have that agency he never got as a kid. he is willing to put everything else he wants aside to go to him instead because he loves his baby which. he is such a good dad forever but a significant part of his arc so far this season has been about how operating as if sacrificing his happiness is a necessary evil ultimately doesn't serve him or them as a family. and it is not going to be what Chris wants for them either and they're gonna TALK ABOUT IT and CHOOSE JOY! anyways this is gonna be good :)

Synopsis: If ATZ were asked what their prized possession is, they wouldnât say what you think. It isnât the money, the cars, the jewels, the priceless paintings or anything of the sorts. As cheesy and unexpected as it sounds, they would answer each other. On one side of the outskirts of town, there is this mansion belonging to a very interesting group of people. As of this moment throughout the gargantuan mansion, the sounds of fast paced footsteps can be heard. While loud or fast paced footsteps like these werenât necessarily uncommon.
However somehow everyone who heard them deep down knew, something was wrong.
Suddenly said footsteps came to a stop as the sound of the door to the meeting room was opened.
Then the dreaded question was asked.
âMy loves, have any of you seen or heard from Princess?â
Silence.
Just like that it became nothing but silence as all discussions of work seems to halt after hearing Yeosangs question.
âIs.. she not home yet?â Seonghwa asked softly.
âWell.. I canât find her anywhere and sheâs not answering her phoneâŚâ
âWhat?!â Wooyoung exclaimed as he quickly pulled out his phone and called her number.
Yunho took a glance to the clock on the wall and saw how late it was.
âItâs past her curfew. She knows sheâs supposed to be home by now.â
âForget that! She knows to always answer us. And sheâs literally not answering us!â Wooyoung groans after the call goes unanswered.
âSheâs just supposed to go shopping again!â Jongho exclaims.
The rest of the men in the room were silent. Frozen in fear and contemplation of what happened to you and where could you possibly be.
Suddenly they hear the front door open.
Believing its you, they wasted no time and quickly rushed down. However what they find are only your body guards, bloodied and bruised.
You?
Nowhere in sight.
At the sight of their bosses, your guards quickly got on their hands and knees. A position that screams begging for forgiveness.
âS-sirs! Weâre sorry! So terribly sorry!! One second we were watching over her then the next we go-â

Hongjoong had no need for useless explanations or excuses.
His Princess was taken.
All he needs now is her back.
Mingi takes the gun from Hongjoongs hand and steps forward.
He kneels in front of one of the other guards and grabs him by the hair, positioning the gun under his chin.
âWhere?â
âD-downtown! The alley near her favorite Chanel store!â
BANG
Jongho then takes the gun and aims it at the last guard.
âSIR! Please no forgive me!! I will find her! I will-â
BANG
Protecting you and making sure you come home safe was these guards only job. And yet they have failed.
Now theyâve lost you and to them there is no greater sin.
As Yunho is cleaning the blood off of Mingiâs face, Seonghwa turns to the maids and the henchmen stationed in the room. Clearly terrified as theyâve never seen their bosses so angry.
âClean this up. We want this place spotless. Not a single trace of these sinners left behind. And get everyone to work. Find her. Check every corner. Turn every stone. Use any informant we have. Use any methods you can think of. Do what you must! And Find. Her. Now.â
With that they scrambled and quickly got to work.
Your husbands then left the room. Rage and determination emanating from their very being.
They will find you.
And those that took you will pay.

At another mansion on the other side of town, much smaller than the one he calls home, San is residing. He's currently on an undercover mission to get information they need to get rid of this nuisance of a mafia.
This other group wasnât really a threat. No one was. However theyâve been getting on their nerves for far too long. So they intended to just wipe them out for their own comfort. Silently, quickly and deadly. Like they always do. Furthermore itâll maybe also send a message to other groups to not pull the same stunts.
So once they got wind of how the head of the mafia likes collecting and having âtoys' around no matter the gender they knew one of them had to play the part.
After careful consideration and discussion they agreed upon San.
No one was entirely happy with the idea. They hated the thought that San had to flaunt what was theirs and let another man touch him, possibly even kiss him.
However they knew their options to make this quick were very limited.
They all drew the line that San cannot sleep with him though. Not like San ever wanted to anyway. He would rather die before betraying his loves like that.
Thankfully San knew how to play his part well, where he was fun enough to keep around even if he had yet to sleep with the man. Plus he's too pretty of an eye candy to be let go anyway.
However he still needed to get this information quick, cause he knew he couldn't play celibate forever. The man will eventually want to force him to sleep with him.
So he needed to get out of there before that happens.
Currently San is in the living room in nothing but a fur coat and his boxers, as how the man requests all his toys to dress, with said man and the rest of his toys.
He's just drinking his whiskey as the man plays, wishing he was back home.
When suddenly the door was slammed opened and a girl was thrown to the ground.
"Sir, we've retrieved what you've asked for!"
One of the henchmen announced loudly.
San acted uninterested and nonchalant as he usually does until he glanced at and unfortunately recognized the poor girl on the ground.
..Princess..?
Why were you here??
How were you here???
Youâre supposed to be safe at home with the rest!
âAh yes. So this is ATZâs precious treasure.â The man said with a shit eating grin causing the diamonds in his teeth to shine in the light.
He then got up and made his way to kneel in front of you. The man then grabbed your chin to make you look at him.
San almost lost it.
How dare his filthy hands touch his Princess?! So roughly at that.
âI have no idea what youâre talking about. Let go of me you piece of shit.â You growled at him.
âAh ah.. is this the way you talk to the only one that can spare yo- UGH! Fucking bitch!â
Before he even finished his sentence you spat straight into his face.
In retaliation he gave you a hard slap, knocking you down.
There your eyes met San.
While to an outsider San seemed unbothered, you knew your husband. He was beyond mad. So mad that the devil himself wouldnât dream of messing with him.
You, of course, knew of his mission. So you understood why he had to just sit there and act like he didnât know you.
You werenât even upset.
You missed him too much. It was such a sight to see him again.
Especially in the outfit heâs in.
So you only give him the tiniest comforting smile. Letting him know that youâre okay.
âLock her up. ATZ will come and find her soon. Theyâll make the deal to get her back. And soon Iâll be the most powerful.â
As you were being dragged away, your eyes only lingered on San.
San could only take another sip of his whiskey, with only one thought in his head.
Oh how wrong this man was.

âWhat do you mean you have no leads?!?â Mingi barked at the henchmen who gave him the update. Or lack there of.

CRACK
âWe donât need your useless apologies. Get out there and FIND OUR WIFE. NOW!â Mingi didnât even let him finish before hurling a heavy desk ornament straight towards his head and yelling at him again.
Bleeding from the head but grateful it wasnât from a bullet hole, the henchmen hurriedly staggered over to give Mingi, Yeosang, and Wooyoung each a kiss on their rings that dawn their middle finger. Once the obligatory task of showing respect was done he left the room to continue searching for the lady of the household.
The room fell silent again as Mingi walks over to the big portrait of his husbands and you right in the middle. Smiling so wide and beautifully. Heâd do anything to make sure that smile stays forever on your face and for him to always see it.
All of them would.
Youâve only been missing for less than 24 hours yet thatâs longer than any of you have been apart these past few years without reason. Along with the fact that they knew you were taken forcibly, unease would be an understatement to describe what Mingi and the rest of them are feeling.
Then after a sigh, Wooyoung reached over and rung a bell that was on the desk. Which caused a maid with a tray of glasses and Wooyoungâs favorite bottle of liquor to enter.
Wooyoung took the bottle, disregarding the glasses and took a swig.
âHave we heard back from San? He needs to come home now. I already hated that he had to do this. Now with Princess gone, I need to know that heâs safe too. And Iâm sure heâd also want to find her.â Wooyoung rambled, jittery due to the present status of his lovers are up in the air.
âWe just sent the message to him. Heâll respond soon.â Yeosang sighed, trying to reassure him by also softly grabbing his hand. However he also then poured himself some of the liquor and took a sip.
Suddenly a rushed knock on the door was heard.
âCome in!â Mingi yelled.
âSirs! A message from Sir San!â A different henchmen hurriedly walked in and dropped a small note on the table.
âGood. Now leave.â Wooyoung said.
The henchmen nodded, also kissing the rings on their fingers before leaving.
Yeosang then took the note. It was only two words but it caused him to jump up from his seat. He bellowed for whoever was nearby to come in.
âGet Captain! We need to leave now!!â He ordered firmly.
âWhat?! What did he say?!â Wooyoung asked also jumping up.
âCausing Mingi to also step forward curiously.
Yeosang merely had to show them the note for them to understand.
âSheâs here.â

Locked away in a small and quite frankly ugly room is currently where you are. Truth be told?

You knew the second you were taken your husbands will bring upon hell on earth. So youâre just waiting for that to happen.
Youâre not sure how they were able to figure out you were their wife in the first place though. Someone on your staff mustâve snitched. Well you can deal with them later.
Right now they just need to hurry and pick you up.

A loud thud can suddenly be heard outside of your locked door and it caused your heart to race. Soon the door unlocked to reveal the beauty that is Choi San.
âSannie!!â You chirped excitedly.
You leaped from the bed only to be pulled back.
âUgh! Stupid handcuff.â You grumbled. Completely forgetting it was there.
âOh Princess!!â San said as he made his way to you in a flash, quickly uncuffing you. With a key youâre not so sure where he got it from. A knocked out guard possibly. No matter though.
As now with your arms free you can finally engulf your husband in a big hug once again.
âOh my sweet darling! What happened?? How are you here???â He asked as he pulled away and checked every inch of you to see where you were hurt.
âIâm not sure my Sannie. One minute I was walking to the car then the next thing I knew these big oafs grabbed me and dragged me here. Iâm fine though love! I promise! Minor bruises and scratches is all..â You explained and try to reassure him.
You knew it was in vain though as even a microscopic scratch on you will cause any of your husbands to go on a rampage.
The fact your old butler is now six feet under for giving you a small cut is proof enough.
âPrincess.. youâre clearly hurtâŚâ San said with a sigh. âWeâre so sorry.. This shouldâve never happened.â He apologized softly stroking the bruise on your cheek.
âHush now my love. You know thereâs only one way I could ever possibly be considered hurt. And that is if anything were to ever happen to my precious husbands. Only then. Will I ever consider myself harmed.â Pure love and sincerity lacing your voice.
A voice San truly does miss. Itâs been weeks since heâs home. Oh how he misses it.
âWell itâs good to know the feeling is mutual darling. As seeing these bruises and scuffs on your precious skin brings me nothing but great agony and ignites a fire in me like no other.â He explained as he kisses each visible blemish and cut.
âDonât worry Princess. The others will be here very soon alright? Just sit tight. I need to get back to work to avenge you darling.â Once finished with his reassurance that your husbands are on their way, he finally gives you a kiss youâve been craving ever since he left the comforts of your home.
âOkay my love. Though do be quick. Iâm awfully bored. Oh and by the way..â You start as you softly trail your hand down his chiseled body. âYou should start dressing like this at home. Iâm sure the others would also very much enjoy it!â You giggle as your hand made it to his crotch. Cupping it.
Oh you missed the little twitch it does so much.
âAh yes, hmm your wish is forever my command Princess.â He replies with a chuckle. He then takes your hand and kisses the wedding band on your finger softly.

Yunho doesnât bother to reply before walking in.
âMy, how rude you are. But very well. Iâm sure youâre uneasy as.. something is missing.â The man then continues to taunt with a smirk.
Yunhoâs face remains stoic, however his fist clenches a bit tighter.
âI have no time for your games.â Yunho simply states before letting himself into the mans office. Yunho then sits down and tells the man to do the same. âState exactly what it is you want. Weâll talk from there.â
The man lets out a scoff before sitting down across from him.
He then claps his hand which causes a very familiar man to walk in to bring in a tray of drinks.
âThank you San.â The man says in a smirk, once again causing the diamonds in his mouth to shine.
San simply ignores him.
No longer seeing the need to act accordingly.
As San makes his way to leave, he gets stopped by a hand on his exposed abdomen.
âExcuse me. I donât believe Iâve given you permission to touch my lovely toys.â The man warns Yunho.
Who is simply admiring his husband.
âHmm⌠well, âyour toy.â Is quite the specimen I must say. Canât seem to help myself.â Yunho says with a smirk towards San, running his hand up and down his body.
Oh lord how much theyâve missed each otherâs touch.
With Sanâs back facing the man, he canât see the smirk that San reciprocates to Yunho. Yunho lets out a soft chuckle before taking Sanâs hand and kissing his ring finger. That was unfortunately currently empty.
âLeave San.â The man growls.
San does. But not before softly grazing his fingers across Yunhoâs broad shoulders.
âOdd.. he usually never lets anyone else touch himâŚâ the man mumbles to himself softly. Too stupid to realize whatâs going on.
âSo youâve stolen our Princess. Due to that you expect us to work with you. Is that it?â Yunho finally cuts to the chase.
âWell youâd do anything to get her back wouldnât you?â The man replies cockily.
âNaturally.â
âWell then work with me. Then Iâll set her free. Simple!â
CRASH
âYouâre a bigger idiot than we thought.â
Suddenly the sounds of bullets firing, screams and yells can be heard throughout the mansion.
The man, the coward he truly is, instinctively hides under the desk at all the noise. However that desks gets thrown off of him, revealing Yunho standing above him. Gun aimed straight to his forehead.
âRun.â
Without a second thought he books it out of the room. Only to be met with the bodies of his henchmen, maids and toys scattered about. Blood coating the walls and floors. He was frozen in shock. That is before a bullet goes flying near his head grazing his ear.
âAH!â
âI said. Run.â
The man once again runs, but also stupidly tries his luck and pulls out his own gun. Before he could even aim at Yunho, his gun was shot out of his hand.
âThe more you try to survive. The less likely itâll be the case. So when my husband tells you to run. You run.â Jongho simply states standing in the living room. Surrounded by dead bodies, shattered chandeliers, ruined paintings, and mangled musical instruments.
While he was devastated at the state of his fortune he was thankfully still smart enough to value his life more. So he began to rush again.
He thought that maybe he could take the shortcut that leads to his garage through his dining room. So thats where his running legs took him as bullets were still flying everywhere. So much so that he canât tell which came from his own men and which came from ATZ.
As he made it into the dining room he was only met with the sight of his most precious car on top of his dining table.
âOh? Were you planning on escaping with this? Hmm. That doesnât seem possible now does it?â Seonghwa taunts while sitting on the roof of the car.
âAll this over some girl?!?!â The man roars enraged of what has become of his hard work.
Seonghwaâs expression hardens in the blink of an eye. Without another word he stands and pulls out his gun then starts shooting at the man without mercy.
The man realizes his mistake too late and gets shot in the shoulder and grazed on the thigh. However the adrenaline pumping through his veins was still enough to have him dashing out of the room.
He no longer has a plan and getting slightly dazed from the blood heâs losing, heâs just trying to get out of there. He opens the nearest door to him hoping itâll lead to an exit.
Unfortunately for him, once again heâs met with a horrible sight and sound.
âAh! Youâve finally come to play!â Yeosang says with a smile laced with venom.
What the man has stumbled into is his indoor tennis courtroom. Where currently Yeosang and Yunho have gathered a bunch of his henchmen, somehow tied up their upper bodies, and made them into moving targets for their tennis practice.
Many of his henchmen had succumbed to their injuries and their blood has splattered and painted the walls, floor and ceiling.
Frozen in shock due to the gruesome display, Yunho took the opportunity to serve and strike a tennis ball straight to the mans face.
âWonderful shot my love!!â Yeosang cheers.
âYour turn handsome.â
Yeosang then wastes no time before doing the same and hitting the man right on the crotch.
âOops wasnât aiming for that but Iâll take it.â
âI would say you got a higher score than me.â Yunho chuckles.
This man still doesnât give up however.
Not like the boys wanted him too anyway. They always loved a challenge and this man hasnât even payed a fraction of his sins.

After hearing the commotion thats happening outside your ugly holding room, you knew it only meant one thing.
Your lovely husbands are finally here to pick you up.
While the man that thought he could have his way by kidnapping you was being dealt with, the door to your room opened revealing your knights in shining armor.
Oh my! They look absolutely gorgeous in their suits.
If circumstances were any different you wouldâve happily have them take you right then and there.
âMy loves!!!â You screeched happily and skipped your way over to them.
âOh Princess!!!â Wooyoung exclaimed happily as he wrapped you up in his arms.
Seonghwa and Jongho doing the same.
âAre you hurt Princess??â Seonghwa asked worriedly. âOh my you are! Oh weâre so sorry darlingâŚâ Seonghwa didnât even let you answer.
âMy loves Iâm fine! I promise Iâm fine! I have you here, Iâm alright. Where are the others..?â You ask with a pout.
âOh theyâre dealing with pests right now Princess donât worry. It wonât take them too long.â Jongho says with a soft comforting smile.
âHmm alright.. are you three taking me home?â
âYes we are darling! Come no- goodness! what an ugly room they kept you in!! Our Princess doesnât deserve this?!â Wooyoung then exclaims when finally taking notice of the room. Genuinely upset that you were kept in such an ugly room.
âI know right?! Itâs so tacky!!â You say with an eyeroll. Seonghwa and Jongho can only chuckle at your antics.
The three of them then safely brought you outside. Where you were met with Hongjoong waiting patiently on the hood of the limousine.
Also looking immensely good. As in âplease fuck me right nowâ levels of good.
Alas.
Circumstances didnât allow it.
âJoongie!!!â You exclaim happily as you sprint to him.
Hongjoong quickly opens his arms for you. You jump into his arms as he picks you up and spins you around.
âOh our Princess.. we were so worried. Weâre so glad youâre okay!â Hongjoong sighs in relief.
âOf course Iâm okay! Youâre my husbands! Nothing will ever harm me!â You say with your gorgeous smile.
âYou were taken sweetie.. Weâre oh so sorryâŚâ
âOh enough with your apologies! Iâm fine! I promise Iâm fine! It seems like you guys constantly forget my vows! Now that hurts! You know Iâm only ever hurt when you guys are!â You remind them.
âWell the bruises on your sweet body may not hurt you but they do hurt us sweetie. So that makes it hurt you!â Wooyoung explains going off your logic.
âAlright smarty pants!â You huff.
âBesides! You all bruise me constantly! Do you not?â You tease.
âThose are different love.â Seonghwa says with a knowing glance and grin. Stepping closer to you.
âYou know that very well. Any bruising or scratches done to your skin that is caused by us is all because you wished for it. Done specifically for your pleasure.â Jongho says as he leans forward as well to kisses a certain spot under your jaw.
You quickly bit your lip to suppress the moan bubbling up your throat.
Once Jongho pulls away, and youâve calmed down, you look at all of them properly and smile.
âIn all seriousness Iâm fine my loves. I really am. Youâre here now. You saved me. Like I knew you would. What happened to me was not because of you. Someone betrayed us that Iâm sure of and we can deal with that later. Now can you all just take me home?â
âVery well our sweet.â Seonghwa says with a smile as he steps forward to kiss the crown of your head.
As you were about to enter the car you noticed Hongjoong still just standing there.
âMy love? Are you not coming with?â You ask.
âNot yet Princess. I need to watch over and there are things I must do. Go home with the others. Weâll be home soon.â He informs with a smile.
âHmm very well⌠Donât take too long though! Tell that to the others too! I miss my husbands!!â You grumble.
âAnd we miss you. No worries. Being away from you after everything that has happened aches me as much as you.â
âHmm alright. See you soon my beloved.â
With a final flying kiss goodbye, you enter the car with the rest. You all then drive off as Hongjoong turns around and looks at the mess he intends to finish.
Back in what was once a mansion, with the help of his henchmen that are still abled bodied and loyal to him. The man that caused all of this is executing a plan of escape.
They were finally able to sneak past all of the chaos that was still happening, to the last functioning escape car they know of.
Or so they thought.
Before they could even start the car. That wouldnât have worked anyway.
They noticed San standing in front of it.
With an expression none of them have ever seen.
âSan..?â The man questions as he thought San wouldâve been killed as well.
San without even thinking twice, pulls out his own gun and shoots the very last henchmen he had, dead.
Merely as second after their bodies slumped over, a fist slammed into the window of the mans side, cracking it.
âGet out.â
Laughed.
The man laughed.
Thats the only thing he can do in this situation.
Incredibly bloodied, bruised and broken.
With everything he had worked for.
Gone. In less than a 12 hours.
All because he thought he could kidnap you and get away with it.
He then finally got out and stood in front of Mingi.
Where Mingi happily grabbed him by the back of the collar and dragged him to the front of the mansion. Here he threw him down in front of the feet of his lovers that had stayed behind. Their sea of henchmen standing behind them.
Before Hongjoong even acknowledged him, he turned to San. Admiring his body that he missed as much as the others but then clicks his tongue. He grabbed the fur coat San was still wearing then asked.
âHe gave you this?â
San simply nodded.
Scoffing he tugs on it more, silently telling San to take it off as he takes his own off.
âNo husband of mine will wear such a cheap and ugly fur coat like this any longer.â He complains as he puts his coat on San.
Thankfully he wore the big sized one today. It fits San perfectly.
âH-husband..?â
âYes. Husband.â Hongjoong replies still admiring San but now also running his hand up and down his body.
Now these are the touches Sanâs been craving for all these weeks.
âOh which reminds me!â Yeosang exclaims before pulling out a familiar gold band.
Seeing this causes a huge smile to appear on Sanâs face and his eyes to light up.
As he did many years ago, Yeosang took Sanâs hand and slipped his wedding ring back right where it belongs. Kissing it to seal the deal.
âHmm. Much better. Oh also! You should start dressing like this at home.â The smirk never leaving Hongjoong as he says it.
âI agree.â Mingi states.
The other lovers humming in agreement.
San could only chuckle.
âPrincess said the same thing.â
âWell we must make it happen then.â Yunho said with a wide cheeky smile.
âWhat the fuck is going on?!â
Oh they forgot he was there-
âYou really did mess with the wrong people you stupid man.â Yeosang sighs bored of the man already.
âI have a name?!â
âWe clearly donât care. And it clearly wonât matter anymore.â Mingi says with an eyeroll as he flicks open a lighter.
âSo this is it? Youâre gonna set me on fire?â
âYes.â San says.
The mans eyes shot wide. Somehow not expecting the blunt answer.
âNot before you watch everything you have burn of course.â Hongjoong says as Mingi throws the lighter behind the man.
The lighter then lands in a trail of gasoline that leads to mangled furniture and fortunes that are strewn about, before leading to the actual mansion.
It doesnât take long until everything goes up in flames.
The man watches in agony as everything. Everything. Burns. He then turns to the men and curses.
âYouâve taken everything.. literally everything. Must you really kill me too?â The man asks somehow still trying to make it out of this alive.
âI wonât bother you again⌠Iâll just vanish. Live a quiet life please. You wonât gain anything from killing me. You got her back!!!â He bargains.

âDonât even think about mentioning her again. No. Donât even think about her. Your mind is not worthy to have her in it.â Hongjoong says after slapping him straight across the face.
âYouâre right though. We wonât gain anything from your death. We wonât even gain satisfaction.â Yunho starts.
âHowever. Weâre merely just punishing sinners.â Yeosang continues.
âBefore you even bother. No. You havenât suffered enough. Not even close. But we couldâve done much more. So consider yourself lucky. As of now at least. As weâre sure in hell youâll suffer even more for what youâve done.â Mingi adds with a gleaming smirk.
âYou took our Princess. Your greatest sin and stupidest mistake. So for that. You must pay the price.â San explains further.
âTo put it simply. You gotta die.â Hongjoong finishes as he steps forward and grabs the mans collar.
ââCause you being alive is still a sin in itself. Why? Well... youâre still breathing her air.â
And with that, Hongjoong merely gives him one last shove. Making the man fall back into the flames.
His screams of suffering can be heard for miles. However due to his extensive injuries it didnât take long for said screams to just stop. Leaving nothing but the melody of crackling fire in the air.
Once that happened, Hongjoong lazily chucked in Sanâs old fur coat into the flames as well. Coincidentally the coat landed perfectly on the mans, now charred, body. This action actually made Yunho chuckle.
âOh. Like he needed that. Iâm sure heâs toasty enough.â Yunho commented sarcastically.
In turn causing everyone else to also let out a laugh.
âWell. Thought he might want to descend to hell wearing what he thinks is fashion.â Hongjoong reasons with a shrug.

As the fire burned on ATZ and their henchmen just watched. Making sure everything gets burned to the ground. Took a while but it was beautiful in a way so they didnât mind.
Once the fire started dying down the sound of a car approaching was heard.
Odd.
They were supposed to wait at home.
The car came to a halt and then the rest of ATZ exited. As they walked up to ones who were watching, the henchmen parted straight down the middle to make way before returning to position.
The rest that just arrived now stand next to the others as they also tuned in to watch the fire.
âWerenât you all supposed to wait at home and keep Princess company?â Yeosang asked.
âWell we were. But we all missed you too much. And you know Princess loves watching the show. Plus.. she was getting needy for all of us.â Seonghwa explains with a subtle smile.
âAaah I see. Oh! But she shouldnât be breathing this much smoke though!â San says worriedly.
âRelax. We made her wait in the car. She can still view it well but she wonât be in harms way.â Jongho reassures before handing San a pair of pants.
âGood. Oh? Whatâs this? Youâre not enjoying seeing me like this like the others are Jongie?â San teases.
Jongho simply rolls his eyes and ignores him. Biting the inside of his cheek hoping no one notices his flushed cheeks. Also trying to not look down at Sanâs bulge.
âI think he just doesnât want to be distracted. This is the first time weâve seen you in weeks Sannie. We missed you very much. You and your sexy body.â Mingi says as he nudges Jonghoâs shoulder.
Jongho just softly nudges Mingi back.
âJust say you miss my cock.â
âWe all do.â Wooyoung chirped in with a smack to Sanâs ass.
A couple of hours past before the fire finally dies down and the smoke begins to clear.
Their work here is finally done.
And just ust like that the car door then opens.
Then out walks you, their Princess, wearing one of your newest most lavish and expensive dress in your favorite color. Youâre also all dolled up just for them.
At the sight of you exiting the car, the sea of henchmen that were still standing behind your husbands, quickly part to make way like before. However this time, they also got down on their knees, head down, in respect.
As they should.
âWhat a beautiful sight! Oh my loves you outdid yourselves with this one!â You praise them giddy as if you werenât talking about the scene of a gruesome massacre.
âAn appropriate punishment for such a sinner donât you think Princess?â Hongjoong asks as he takes your hand.
âI suppose.â You hum as you stand beside him.
âNow that youâre done, can we please leave? Iâm hungry!â
âAh! One more thing before we leave!â Hongjoong announces as he walks towards the ashes.
In said ashes, there lies the skeleton of the man that started all of this. With a wide smirk on his face, Hongjoong carefully crouches down and picks up a small but very sparkly diamond from the teeth of said skeleton.
Hongjoong, smirk not faltering even a bit, makes his way back to you and takes your hand.
âWhat do you think princess? Shall we customize you a new ring?â He asks showing the diamond.
âOh my! Yes please! Oh! And check for any more jewels that are left behind in these ashes and rubble! We shouldnât let such pretty things go to waste.â
âOf course darling.â Jongho starts before turning his attention to the men that were still on their knees before you.
âYou heard her.â
âYES SIR!â
Like that they all got up, bowed to you once more before rushing to the ashes where a lavish mansion once stood. In search of anything shiny that might please you.
âHmmm can we pleeeasee eat now?â You ask with a pout.
âYes we can our Princess. Yes we can.â Seonghwa tells you with a smile as they all lead you back to the car.

The first time they met, he saw her sitting at the bar.
She was alone, in a cocktail dress with her legs crossed, sipping on a martini. There was a faux fur coat hanging over her chair. She wasnât on her phone, or listening to music, she was just sitting with the world around her.
Lando Norris was well acquainted with the female species. Heâs met pretty woman, heâs dated pretty women, heâs fucked pretty women.
She wasnât just a pretty woman.
âIâm Lando.â She didnât shake his hand, didnât smile or giggle⌠she just nodded.
âI know who you are.â She brought the martini to her lips again and Lando felt his mouth open a bit, âDo you know who I am?â
He slipped into the seat next to her, âNo. Should I?â
Then it happened, the corners of her perfectly lush lips tugged upward. âNope.â
And thus started a beautiful friendship. Yes, I say friendship because neither of them expected to fall in love with each other. Even if everyone seemed to hope they would.

Her apartment was a mess like usual. I pushed open the door with two coffees in my hand, house keys, and the purse she made me bring all the way from Monaco to New York.
I managed to get to her room without stepping on any of her loose clothes, books, or instruments. She was lying on her bed, her head hanging off the side and her hands lazily strumming her guitar.
She was wearing a pink nightgown that scrunched up on her thighs, a faux fur coat, and headphones. Her head finally tilted back far enough to see me standing there, staring at her.
I used to worry about her a lot because of her reaction time and how she never realized I was staring. Yet I stopped thinking about it after it allowed me to watch her before we would hang out.
That sounds creepy, I know. But just like the first time I met her, I could get a read on her body language or emotions, I would look at her outfit and how much jewelry she would be wearing, I would just look at her for one quiet moment.
âLan!â She screamed far too loud and stood up at lightning speed, hugging me. âMy angel, youâre back!â She grabbed the coffee she knew was hers from my hands and spun around, hopping back onto her bed and sitting on her feet.
I pushed the clothes off her chair and sat on it, âSomeone came up to me and asked if I was your friend today.â
I rolled my eyes and sipped my coffee, âOne day, weâre going to be walking around and people will swarm around you and ask who the idiot next to you is.â
She sighed, sipping her coffee, âAnd Iâd tell them that if theyâre true fans, theyâd know who my best friend is.â She leaned back on her pillows and stuffed animals.
âRight!â I let out a laugh, âYou would definitely say I'm some freak following you.â
Her eyes got serious for a second, âIâd never pretend to not know you, Lando.â
I shook my head, âHowâs the writing coming along?â
âIf youâve come here just to bug me about my music, then I will kick you back onto the streets.â Sheâs a musician.
I wasnât lying when I said I didnât know her⌠but she had just put out her debut album and I had just officially become an F1 driver.
She claimed she wasnât a fan of the sport, yet would text me non stop about âgossipâ she heard from her âcredibleâ sources. Her sources were F1 twitter.
She let me listen to her music, humming along to the songs without lyrics and singing without any instrument to the songs without background music.
I donât remember when I fell in love with her. It wasnât a specific time or place, I just sort of knew one day.

I always loved him in a suit.
I liked his hair and the way the curls just fit with something so neat and tailored to him. Lando looked bored, an expression I didnât see on his face a lot when he was with me.
But that day and that banquet⌠it was so slow and I was so off my usual game. I had secrets and Lando could tell. I thought he was going to confront me about them when he brought me outside.
âLan, thereâs a speaker!â I whispered to him as he took my hand.
âWhen have you ever cared about shit like that? Come on.â His hand was cold, I remember that. I actually remember everything from that night.
We slipped out the back door and he started laughing. I didnât know why, but I also didnât ask a lot of questions.
The banquet was in a stuffy hall, but the back garden was beautiful and miles long. I laughed with him, hurrying down the steps as fast as I could in my heels.
He loosened his tie and undid the top button of his shirt. âI couldnât breathe in there.â He runs a hand through his curls, tilting his head back so his Adam's apple is more pronounced and his eyes are looking to the sky.
âWanna get out of here?â I asked because I was getting cold and could tell he needed a change of scenery.
Thatâs when I noticed a difference. The way he looked at me just then, it was like everything I had dreaded came true in one singular moment. âNo.â He had said it quietly but I felt like he had a megaphone. âI need to talk to you.â
âLandoâŚâ I said his full name that time because I wanted him to know that for once in my life, I was being serious. I was warning him.
âI love you.â He was breathless and I'll never forget the look on his face. It was almost as heartbreaking as the look he gave me five seconds later, when I didnât respond.
I loved him, of course I had.
But I wasnât ready. I wasnât ready for a relationship or for him. I wasnât ready for everything to change or for him to suddenly start kissing me instead of hugging.
I wasnât ready to be loved.
âPleaseâŚâ He was holding my hands now, âI canât not love you. I know you love me too.â That made me feel nauseous.
How could he know?
I kept everything close to me and had never tried to kiss him, I never even joked about it!
âI canâtâŚâ Is all I said before pulling my hands away.
His face turned sullen, his arms limp at his sides, âYou donât have to be scared.â
âIâm not!â I didnât mean to say it as defensively as I did.
âBullshit.â Lando never raised his voice at me, but he did then.
âYou donât get to tell me my feelings!â I stepped farther away, ignoring every instinct to get closer.
His eyes were piercing me, âTell me you donât then.â
I was shaking my head as he begged, âTell me you donât love me! Say it to my face.â I couldnât say anything, and he knew me too well because of it. âBreak my heart, then. Do it.â
âLanâŚâ
âDonât âLanâ me!â He stepped closer, his hands going to my arms again, âFucking break me or never talk to me again! I canât pretend I donât love you and I know you canât stay friends with me when you know that I do.â
His voice broke and my tears started. Lando Norris knew every part of me. He watched my facial expressions, my body language. He watched me get dressed and he watched me break a million guys' hearts.
He watched me loudly do what I love but that was always music, and never him.
Thatâs why I had to walk away. Itâs why I couldnât admit loving him. Itâs why I cut all contact, Itâs why I hated myself. Itâs why I pretended I didnât know him, even though he haunted everything in my life.

Carlos forced me to come to his girlfriend's party. Rebecca is nice and all but as I watch Franco get surrounded by models and Charles whispering in Alexandraâs ear, Iâm seriously regretting saying yes.
Iâm in a suit and zoning out with champagne in my hand, leaning against the bar as the noise around me gets louder.
âLando!â I already know itâs Carlos, glancing back to see him hurrying over to me, âLando!â
âWhat?â I ask, tired and wishing I was more drunk.

For once, I didnât see her coming. I didnât get to have that moment of peace where I could revel in her.

I heard the rumors and the second that one of the guys called her pretty, I clocked out.
I never saw her in person though. I would be paranoid every time I was at a music festival or even saw someone wearing close to the same faux fur jackets she adored. But I havenât seen her for over a year, until now.

AK! Jason Todd who you're not even sure what you have with. Every time you try to refer to him as your boyfriend or yourselves as together like you did before his death, he pulls away and gets defensive.

But if you try to walk away from the situation or start talking to somebody else, he gets so incredibly jealous.

AK! Jason Todd who, if you couldn't tell by now, is so incredibly toxic in whatever situation you have. He cant stand to see you walk away but it kills you inside every time you come back to him and his baggage.

AK! Jason Todd who absolutely loathes you going out at night. Even when he's there with you, it still puts him on edge to see you walking the cold, dark Gotham sidewalks when you could be safe in his apartment or the base instead.
AK! Jason Todd who just gets so mean with you for no reason. Well, not for little things like forgetting to pick up plastic wrap at the store or something. More like walking alone in Gotham without him knowing you were even gone. He hates the thought of something happening to his precious little thing.
AK! Jason Todd who would never physically harm you. Are insults thrown around like confetti? Absolutely! Is there a scream fight almost every week? You bet! But has he ever raised a finger against you? No. And he would never even think of it.
AK! Jason Todd who's absolutely pissed whenever somebody even looks at you for too long, nevermind making comments. You'd be surprised just how many of his soldiers he's gotten rid of just for telling him to "put his bitch in her place," or for telling you to "cover up, slut."
AK! Jason Todd who can't open up. He knows what he's doing is horrible. He knows that everything he does affects you in one way or another. But what about the horrible things other people have done? What about what the Joker did to him? What about Bruce letting the Joker roam free afterwards and replacing him with another goody two shoes? Jason wants to talk to you, he really does. But he just doesn't see how you or anybody, for that matter, coyld ever understand him or what he's been through.
AK! Jason Todd who found himself crying in the dark shadows of your shared apartment when Bruce first came along to stop his ridiculous plan to take over Gotham with Scarecrow's fear toxin. Jason loved Bruce. Bruce was his only family. But family means that nobody gets left behind and Bruce sure as hell broke that rule.
(This is actually kinda cannon: in Akrham Knight, one of the conversations you can overhear between a few of the gaurds mentions Jason crying after encountering Bruce for one of the first times)
AK! Jason Todd who truly does love you, in some way. He doesn't think he can be in love with you, but that doesnt makw him care about you any less. You're his person, and you've been there for him whether he likes it or not.
AK! Jason Todd who would absolutely lose it if anything were to ever happen to you. He never wants to see even a hair on your damn head hurt if he can help it. If one of his guards were to be responsible for an injury you sustained, they'd be out the door and probably six feet under in a heartbeat.
AK! Jason Todd who, no matter what your situation or relationship is like, refuses to let you see his chest. Yeah, his entire body is covered in scars, both from the Joker and other things he's experienced. But the 'Y' shaped scar on his chest is strictly off limits. If you were to ever accidentally brush your hand across it while laying with him or something, he wouldn't lash out, but he'd certainly guide your hand away by gently grasping your wrist.
AK! Jason Todd who never wants to see you involved with anything he does or his plans. He thinks that his activities are far too dangerous for you, even if you do happen to be somebody who's capeable of holding your own in combat or other high-stress situations.

The Alexandria dinner party is louder than usual, laughter spilling out into the quiet night. Someone had insisted on opening the last few bottles of wine, and you watch with amusement as Daryl, leaning against the far wall, swirls the red liquid in his glass like itâs some kind of trap.
âNever took you for a wine guy,â you tease, stepping closer. His eyes dart to yours, and the flush on his face deepens. You figure the alcoholâs working its magic, though Daryl had always been shy about these kinds of thingsâespecially in a crowd.
âDonât even taste right,â he mutters, setting the glass on a nearby table like it might bite him.
You grin. âThen why drink it?â
He shrugs, glancing at you sideways. The usual ease between you feels a little... off. His gaze flicks to your face, then away again, like heâs avoiding something. You tilt your head, trying to figure out whatâs wrong, when his voice breaks the quiet.
âYou look real nice tonight.â
The words come out low and shy, almost like he hadnât meant to say them. You blink, surprised, but before you can respond, he fumbles to add, âNot that ya donât always, but... I mean, yeah.â
âDaryl,â you say, trying to catch his eye. Heâs looking anywhere but at you now, cheeks burning. âAre you okay?â
ââM fine,â he grumbles, crossing his arms. But the way he shifts on his feet, the nervous way he rubs the back of his neckâitâs not like him. You step closer, studying him, until something clicks.
âOh my god.â You canât stop the laugh that bubbles up. âYou donât remember, do you?â
His brows furrow, lips parting in confusion. âRemember what?â
You canât believe it. âYouâre acting like we just met or something.â
Daryl stares at you, his eyes swimming with haze, but he blinks hard, trying to piece it all together. His eyes widen slightly. âWait... weâreâ?â
âYes, Daryl,â you say, trying to suppress another laugh. âWeâre together, at least I thought so,â
The realization hits him like a brick wall. His mouth opens, then closes, and for a second he just stares at you, dumbfounded. âShit,â he mutters, rubbing a hand over his face. âIâuh... forgot.â
âObviously,â you tease, stepping even closer until youâre standing right in front of him. âShould I be worried youâre forgetting about me already?â
âNah,â he says quickly, his voice quiet but insistent. âJust... too much wine. âS all.â
You bite your lip, trying not to smile too wide at how bashful he looks. The Daryl you know is rarely this unguarded, and itâs endearing. But as you watch him glance down at youâhis face still flushed and his nerves practically visibleâyou catch something softer in his expression. His hand drifts to the back of his neck again, but this time, a crooked grin follows.
âYouâre... somethinâ else,â he murmurs under his breath, almost to himself. âMust be the luckiest som' bitch,â
The words catch you off guard, and warmth blooms in your chest. âDamn right you are,â you say softly, but thereâs no teasing in your tone anymore.
His lips twitch, and he finally dares to meet your gaze. âGuess I donât mind that.â
You smirk, leaning up to press a quick kiss to his cheek. The move makes him freeze for half a second before his face turns a deeper shade of red, but his hand brushes yours in a subtle, almost instinctive gesture. Even drunk, even shy, Daryl Dixon couldnât hide how much he cared.
âCâmon,â you say, tugging lightly at his hand. âLetâs get you some water before you forget anything else."

Its been a while Jikookers, but let me tell you why...
Just a warning this post will talk about grief and death, so if you aren't in a place to want to read that right now please scroll past đ
On October 11th my world changed and I am still working out how to be in it without my best friend. I have never felt loss and pain like I do right now but I am surrounded by amazing friends and family who will help me work this shit out. My beautiful friend of 20+ years died after a very short time in Neuro ICU following a burst brain aneurysm. No warning, just walking home from lunch with a friend on the 3rd October and she collapsed in the street, she never regained consciousness and died peacefully surrounded by her siblings, children and mum 8 days later on 11th October.
It's the little things I am struggling with, the coffee dates on my days off, the messages she would send just to say 'love you' and ask how your day was, the random phone calls because she was putting off gardening or housework, the messages to say have lovely trip the day before or after you went as she always got the date wrong, but she never forgot the important dates and would spend her last pound to get you a card to celebrate.
One of the reasons for me posting on here is because I want to recognise how being part of this fandom and being a Jikooker has had a profound impact on my grieving during this time. In life some people come along and impact on your life in a way they may never understand because you can't find the right words to tell them, but even from thousands of miles away their words bring you strength and comfort, a hug in the form of a voice message. Part of me working through this shitty grieving process has been to just say what is in my head into my phone and send the message to this person, with no expectation of a reply or words of wisdom, but she has never let me down. Even if its just to say 'keep going, it will get better', she has never allowed me to feel unheard.
So @dgtn please stand up and accept your virtual hug, until I can give you one in person đ
A week ago we had a ceremony and celebration of life for my friend and it was beautiful, the sun shone, we cried, we laughed ( she loved to laugh and was always making us laugh) and I started on the next part of my grief journey, to learn to live without her but never forgetting her.
Everyday is a new day and some are harder than others, work is either a blessing of a distraction, or a curse, as my ability to deal with stress and the stupidity and pettiness of the general public is better some day then others. My work colleagues have been beyond amazing and the love and support they have given me has been beyond anything I could imagine. But I know my friend would be shouting at me to live my life now as it is too damn short and can be gone in an instant, so that is what I am doing. Next year is busy, first K-pop concert (Ateez, don't get me started on how excited I am), West end theatre show, and the icing on the cake is a trip to Niagara falls and NYC in March! Not to mention the impending BTS concert when that pesky military service is over for all our guys.
Music is an important part of my life and BTS' music has helped me massively, I have cried to it, I have sung my heart out to it, and I have sat in silence and just listened to it and taken comfort from their lyrics.
One song which has seen me do all three is Zero o clock, so what better way for me to sign off than with this...

people who hate the direction of kit's character because he's upset with ty while also knowing ty is autistic... are the same people who fail to realize that while kit is more knowledgable in that area than most nephilim, he was STILL only 15 years old, and while he did go along with ty until last minute even ty questioned his authenticity at some point...
(also did we all collectively forget kits entire storyline? this kid was in NO position to make any life-altering decisions... tbh the only person who might have an inkling of what he's going through is clary, cause yea not even jace and his reassurance can fully encompass kits issues...
i mean here is a kid who was abused by neglection and harsh treatment, a kid who has only ever know to crave love and never felt it. and then one day his abuser/protector is ripped in half right in front of him, and he's promptly told that he is apart of a society who he was taught to hate his entire life. so there goes his first identity crisis. but oh wait, this entirely new society has been taught to expect tragedy to happen at anytime of the day so suck it up cause your one of us now and also we're placing you in a super tight-knit family that is going through their own traumatic shit, so they won't have time to even TRY and make you feel welcomed or acknowledged... like AT ALL. (cause wow, how many times was kit left on the sidelines while the entire LA institute had a giant group hug... LOL) but then you get accepted by these twins and become apart of their little group, and now you don't want to let go, you CAN'T, because this is the closest you've ever been to being apart of a family, so you have to bury your grief and be likeable and cool and strong. but then one of the twins die and suddenly everyone is looking at you to comfort the other twin, but you haven't even been able to figure out how to grieve yourself before having to experience this additional loss of a budding relationship. but you love this boy so OK you do what you can, even if it means going along with something that makes you sick to your stomach. but your still new here, you don't know which lines to cross, you don't know whats ok and what's not, who to tell and who not to tell, you dont want this boy to hate you, you can't lose this "home" even as it's being held by the thinnest string ready to break. even as you look at yourself and can only see the same look of disappointment and hate and secrets upon secrets, an exact copy of his fathers expression when he looked at kit, a man your not sure you even love. there goes your second identity crisis. (funny how much kit hates secrets and yet thats been the only revelation of his entire existence)
you suck it up until you can't anymore, until your feelings spill over in the purest words that you can express, words that mean a lifetime to you because these are words no one has have uttered to you, because these are words you know you probably need to hear too.
except now your left soppin wet and punched by your inconsolable crush and watching as he performs a failed resurrection. and then after being kept in confinement for some days its revealed that your part faerie, another race hellbent on being hated by the world. except your not just any faerie but the one true heir to TWO thrones... and there's your third identity crisis.))) also,,, dont get me started on the short stories where we expect to read about kit healing and then we actually just see him sink deeper and deeper into this pit of self-loathing as he's continuously put in positions that have him viewed as a threat and danger to his family... i.e. his heritage, tessa and jems reaction to him holding james' gun, mina's kidnapping, etc.
yea, by all means kit be angry!
and to address kit being older and still holding this grudge years later with the assumption that he knows more and maybe understands ty's thought process better,,, he's already admitted to being mad at ty for putting kit in a position that had him looking in the mirror and seeing johnny rook... NOT at the fact that he was "rejected" or even the resurrection itself...
is kit in the right for his misplaced anger? ofc not,,, but he also went through a lifetime of trauma that you can't simply let go of just because another person might not have fully understood the headspace that he was in at the moment
kits characterization within the fandom really makes me realize how privileged many people are to never having to go through the messy process of grieving your abuser while now figuring out who you are after them, all while their shadow is still casted over your entire being... like, no kit didn't runaway from being rejected by a boy, he ran away from being rejected despite his desperate efforts to be loved, even if it meant sacrificing his own sanity by becoming someone who resembled the catalyst of ALOT of his trauma,,,ofc this is all in his pov since we the readers are aware of tys feelings)
thats all to say that kit really is good at suppressing his feelings if even the readers glossed over the multiple times his mind began to stray towards the death of his father throughout the tda series. like, we're aware of johnny's treatment towards kit and we're also aware of the envirommemt he was raised in,,, so why is it that people focus on him "knowing" about the spectrum b/c he lives in modern society than they are about the life he's personally lived that influenced his decision and thought process throughout the story?
and if it wasn't obvious this post was entirely for kit's pov, ty has a completely different view of things and where kit might not fully understand how ty processes things, neither does ty towards kit. they're both on completely different pages!!
but thats the point of their story!! theyre gonna heal together! we will explore ty's pov and see what he REALLY saw during that time period and maybe kit can finally love himself the way he wants others to love him,,,,

Hi Gina,
Iâm in Europe, so Iâm just waking up to all the discourse on your blog about SC. Maybe itâs because Iâm older, maybe itâs because Iâm more jaded or just the fact that I tend to look for the motives behind the obvious, but SCâs actions yesterday struck me as being very calculated. I forced myself to watch the footage of mourners leaving the service and what I noticed was the boys very discreetly leaving, one by one, trying not to attract too much attention to themselves. Then Liamâs devastated parents escorted Liam to the hearse waiting in front of the church to begin his last journey. It was at that moment that SC made his way towards them and âbroke downâ in front of them, which basically forced these sweet, kind people to console him in view of the paps and the spectators.
SC has been getting a lot of bad press lately. His search for the next boyband turned out to be a flop. The interview he gave where he talked about his single greatest regret with 1D did him no favors. He tried to use Harryâs name when he told an interviewer that Harry had called him up for a little chat about the good old days and as recently as a month ago he implied Liam had paid him a nice little visit only last summer. He used those boys names to keep himself relevant and to boost his PR, even though Liamâs death had created a lot of backlash for him. What better way then, to clear his name and get back in the publicâs good graces, than being seen breaking down in front of Liamâs poor parents and being consoled by them. Heâs a narcissist and a master manipulator, so he must have known very well that these sweet people would never do anything to dishonor their sonâs memory by pushing him away in full view of the press. And judging by some of the anonâs youâve gotten, his nefarious little plan seems to be working, because heâs now being seen as the heartbroken friend of the boys and we are the heartless a-holes who refuse to forgive his transgressions.
Anyway, this is just my two cents. Maybe Iâm too harsh, but this feels in line with everything else we know about the man, so I wouldnât put it past him to have orchestrated this entire interaction.
On a side note, thank you for being a voice of reason and a port in a storm for all of us in these difficult times. Your blog is the first thing I turn to every single day and I want you to know how much I appreciate you being here for us all. Donât forget to take good care of yourself! Paul about the breakup of The Beatles in The Lyrics, 2021
The four of us just knew how to fall in with each other and play, and that was our real strength. That made it all the more sorrowful to think that our breaking up was almost inevitable. So thereâs a wistful aspect to âGet Backâ. The idea that you should get back to your roots, that The Beatles should get back to how we were in Liverpool. And the roots are embodied in the style of the song, which is straight-up rock and roll. Because that was definitely what I thought we should do when we broke up â that we should âget back to where we once belongedâ and become a little band again. We should just play and do the occasional little gig. The others laughed at that â quite understandably â because by then it was not really a practical solution. John had just met Yoko, and he clearly needed to escape to a new place, whereas I was saying we should escape to an old place. Reviving the old Beatles just wasnât on the cards. It was too late to be recommending that we not forget who we were and where we once were from. If my dream at the time really was to get back to where we once belonged, Johnâs dream was to go beyond where we once belonged, to go somewhere we didnât yet belong. Iâve already mentioned how in September 1969 we were in a meeting and talking about future plans, and John said, âWell, Iâm not doing it. Iâm leaving. Bye.â In the ensuing moments, he was giggling and saying how this felt really thrilling, like telling someone youâre going to divorce them and then laughing. At the time, obviously, that was wildly hurtful. Talk about a knockout blow. Youâre lying on the canvas, and heâs giggling and telling you how good it feels to have just knocked you out. It took a while, but I suppose I eventually got with the programme. This was my best mate from my youth, the collaborator with whom Iâd done some of the best work of the twentieth century (he said, modestly). If he fell in love with this woman, what did that have to do with me? Not only did I have to let him do it, but I had to admire him for doing it. That was the position I eventually reached. There was nothing else I could do but be cool with it.

That was coupled with the business problems at Apple Records, which really were horrible. The business meetings were just soul-destroying. Weâd sit around in an office, and it was a place you just didnât want to be, with people you didnât want to be with. Thereâs a great picture that Linda took of Allen Klein, in which heâs got a hammer like Maxwellâs silver hammer. Itâs very symbolic. And thatâs why we have the little nod and a wink in the middle section to âYou Never Give Me Your Moneyâ, in the lines âI never give you my pillow / I only send you my invitationsâ. That whole period weighed on me to such an extent that I even began to think it was all tied in with the idea of original sin. Even though my mum had christened me as a Catholic, we werenât brought up Catholic, so I didnât buy into the concept of original sin on a day-to-day basis. Itâs really very depressing to think that you were born a loser.

The Beatles stuff all got too heavy, and 'heavy' at that time had a very particular meaning for me. It meant more than oppressive. It meant having to go into meetings and sit in the boardroom with all the other Beatles and with the accountants and with this guy Allen Klein. He was a New York spiv who had come over to London and talked to The Rolling Stones and persuaded them he was the man for them. Prior to that, he had persuaded Sam Cooke he was the man for him. I smelled a rat but the other chaps didnât, so we had a fight over it and I got voted down. I was trying to be Mr Rational and Mr Sensible, and it all went haywire. It was early 1969, and The Beatles were already beginning to break up. John had said he was leaving, and Allen Klein told us not to tell anyone, as he was in the middle of doing deals with Capitol Records. So, for a few months we had to keep mum. We were living a lie, knowing that John had left the group. Allen Klein and Dick James, who sold our publishing in Northern Songs without giving us a chance to buy the company, were both hanging around in the background of this song. All the people who had screwed us or were still trying to screw us. Itâs fascinating how directly we acknowledged this in the song. Weâd cottoned on to them, and they must have cottoned on to the fact that weâd cottoned on. We couldnât have been more direct about it. ...
Contracts were written on funny paper. Lying behind the song is the idea of the contract as a relationship between two people. The negotiations are at once business negotiations and romantic negotiations; Iâm thinking of the lines âAnd in the middle of negotiations / You break downâ. The breakdown in negotiations is also a kind of nervous breakdown. The problem was that, by this stage, everything was up for negotiation, and miscommunication was the order of the day. We werenât really writing together anymore. Each person was bringing in little bits of this and little bits of that. And we all knew that phase of our lives, of being The Beatles, was coming to an end. We were working towards an album, knowing it was probably going to be our final fling. Though Let It Be was released later, Abbey Road was indeed the last album we recorded in the studio. There was an upside, however. Iâd got married to Linda, and our relationship offered some respite from the dreary infighting and the financial stuff. The lines âOne sweet dream / Pick up the bags and get in the limousineâ were a reference to how Linda and I were still able to disappear for a weekend in the country. That saved me.

This was just after The Beatles broke up, and I was trying to establish myself as a solo artist with a new repertoire. If it was going to work like the Beatles repertoire had worked, I had to have a hit. One in two songs had to be a hit. So, this was a conscious effort to write a hit, and Phil was very helpful. We knew that if we had a hit, it would cement our relationship and we would keep working together, which we did with the RAM album. It would prove that we were both good â he as a producer and I as a singer songwriter. Releasing my first solo song after the breakup felt like a big moment. Thrilling, though tinged with sadness. It also felt like I had something to prove, and that kind of challenge is always exciting. The song went to number two in the UK singles chart and number five in the US Billboard Hot 100, so it did pretty well. Of course, this was still a time when there was a bit of tension between John and me, and this sometimes filtered into our songwriting. John made fun of this song in one of his own, âHow Do You Sleep?âThe only thing you done was yesterday And since youâve gone youâre just another day One of his little piss takes.

This song was written a year or so after The Beatles breakup, at a time when John was firing missiles at me with his songs, and one or two of them were quite cruel. I donât know what he hoped to gain, other than punching me in the face. The whole thing really annoyed me. I decided to turn my missiles on him too, but Iâm not really that kind of a writer, so it was quite veiled. It was the 1970s equivalent of what we might today call a âdiss trackâ. Songs like this, where youâre calling someone out on their behaviour, are quite commonplace now, but back then it was a fairly new âgenreâ. The idea of too many people âpreaching practicesâ was definitely aimed at John telling everyone what they ought to do â telling me, for instance, that I ought to go into business with Allen Klein. I just got fed up with being told what to do, so I wrote this song. âYou took your lucky break and broke it in twoâ was me saying basically, âYouâve made this break, so good luck with it.â But it was pretty mild. I didnât really come out with any savagery, and itâs actually a fairly upbeat song; it doesnât really sound that vitriolic. If you didnât know the story, I donât know that youâd be able to guess at the anger behind its writing. It was all a bit weird and a bit nasty, and I was basically saying, âLetâs be sensible. We had a lot going for us in The Beatles, and what actually split us up is the business stuff, and thatâs pretty pathetic really, so letâs try and be peaceful. Letâs maybe give peace a chance.â The first verse and the chorus have pretty much all the anger I could muster, and when I did the vocal on the second line, âToo many reaching for a piece of cakeâ, I remember singing it as âPiss off cakeâ, which you can hear if you really listen to it. Again, I was getting back at John, but my heart wasnât really in it. This is me saying, âToo many people are sharing the party line. Too many people are grabbing for a slice of the cake, a piece of the pie.â The âsleep in lateâ thing â whether that was accurate, whether John and Yoko actually slept in late or not, Iâm not sure (although John often was a late riser when I would drive out to Weybridge so that we could write together). They were all references to people thinking that their own truth was the only truth, which was certainly what was coming from John. The thing is, so much of what they held to be truth was crap. War is over? Well no, it isnât. But I get what youâre saying: war is over if you want it to be. So, if enough people want war to be over, itâll be over. Iâm not sure thatâs entirely true, but itâs a great sentiment; itâs a nice thing to think and to say.
Iâd been able to accept Yoko in the studio, sitting on a blanket in front of my amp. Iâd worked hard to come to terms with that. But then when we broke up and everyone was now flailing around, John turned nasty. I donât really understand why. Maybe because we grew up in Liverpool, where it was always good to get in the first punch of a fight. The whole story in a nutshell is that we were having a meeting in 1969, and John showed up and said heâd met this guy Allen Klein, who had promised Yoko an exhibition in Syracuse, and then matter-of-factly John told us he was leaving the band. Thatâs basically how it happened. It was three to one because the other two went with John, so it was looking like Allen Klein was going to own our entire Beatles empire. I was not too keen on that idea. John actually had Allen Klein and Yoko in the room, suggesting lyrics during writing sessions. In his song âHow Do You Sleep?â the line âThe only thing you done was yesterdayâ was apparently Allen Kleinâs suggestion, and John said, âHey, great. Put that in.â I can see the laughs they had doing it, and I had to work very hard not to take it too seriously, but at the back of my mind I was thinking, âWait a minute, All I ever did was âYesterdayâ? I suppose thatâs a funny pun, but all I ever did was âYesterdayâ, âLet It Beâ, âThe Long and Winding Roadâ, âEleanor Rigbyâ, âLady Madonnaâ, . . . â fuck you, John.â I had to fight them for my bit of The Beatles and, in fact, for their bit of The Beatles, which many years later they realised and almost thanked me for. Nowadays people get it, but at the time I think the others felt they were the ones who were victims, who were being hurt by my actions. Allen Klein already had a history with The Rolling Stones. I just thought, âOy oy oy, no, this guyâs got such a bad reputation.â And good old John says, âOh, if heâs that badly talked about, he canât be all bad.â John had this kind of distorted thinking, which was amusing sometimes. But not when someone was going to take everything that John and George and Ringo and I owned and had worked really hard to get.
So, I stood up as the sensible one and said, âThis is not good.â Klein wanted twenty per cent, and I said, âTell him he can have ten, if you have to go with him.â âOh no, no, no,â they came back. âNo, he wants twenty.â It seemed to me they were just fucking out of it and making no attempt to do anything sensible. A lot of hurt went down during that period in the early 1970s â them feeling hurt, me feeling hurt â but John being John, he was the one who would write a hurtful song. That was his bag.

Towards the end of 1969, John had quite gleefully told us it was over. There were a few of us in the Apple boardroom at the time. I think George was away visiting family, but Ringo and I were at the meeting, and John was saying no to every suggestion. I thought we should go back to playing smaller gigs again, but the answer came back: âNoâ. Eventually John said, âOh, Iâve been wanting to tell you this, but Iâm leaving The Beatles.â We were all shocked. Relations had been strained, but we sat there saying, âWhat? Why? Why? Why?â It was like a divorce, and he had just had a divorce from Cynthia the year before. I can remember him saying, âOh, this is quite exciting.â That was very John, and I had admired this kind of contrarian behaviour about him since we were kids, when I first met him.
He really was a bit loony, in the nicest possible way. But whilst all of us could see what he meant, it was not quite so exciting for those left on the other side.

This is one of my favourite songs. It's a ballad with a brass section, but itâs always felt Victorian in style to me. Itâs very heartfelt. âA love so warm and beautiful / Stands when time itself is fallingâ. I like that idea, instead of just saying, âIt will go on forever.â I got a good feeling writing this song, and listening to it now, I still do. âLove, faith and hope are beautifulâ. The brass solo is lovely for me because it harks back to the brass bands that were so common when I was a kid; there would often be brass bands in the park or in the streets. My dad played trumpet, as I never fail to mention, and he had his own little band â Jim Macâs Jazz Band. The first instrument he bought me was a trumpet, and he taught me the scale of C which, when you go on the piano, becomes B-flat. Itâs all very complicated. Thatâs why we didnât even bother learning music. I realised that I wanted to swap the trumpet for a guitar, so I asked his permission, and he said, âYes, okay.â âWarm and Beautifulâ was written well after the demise of The Beatles, and at this time we knew sadness. I knew about delving into your mind to look for help and looking for some sort of solace in a song. I liked the idea of writing a song in a universal way that dispels the sadness. You write about the wonderful things you know in the world, and you try to write so that it will sing well and be well received by people dealing with grief something that inevitably surrounds all of us at one time or another. On a more personal level, the main inspiration for the song was LindaâŚ

After The Beatles thing became so depressing, Linda and I decided weâd get out of London and start living full-time on our small holding in Scotland. It was quite a difficult period because of the bandâs breakup but it allowed me to see another side of myself. First and foremost, we did everything for ourselves, and at this point it was Linda, Heather, Mary â who was still a baby â and me. If we needed something to eat, weâd go into town in the little Land Rover, come back up, and cook it. We didnât have anyone helping us, except for one guy, the shepherd, because it was a little sheep farm. It was an experience that allowed me to be a man. <âŚ> Iâd grown up in Liverpool and gone on the road with The Beatles around the world and then around again, and now here I was on a farm in the middle of nowhere, and it was sensational. <âŚ> This was the kind of thing Iâd never done, ever, in my life, and it was amazingly liberating. I got to do all the things I think a lot of young people still dream about today â the famous âgap yearâ. I sense a lot of people want that freedom, escaping the rat raceâŚ

After the breakup of The Beatles, I wouldoften just sit around a lot. Sometimes I sat in the kitchen while the kids were playing. Maybe they were drawing. Maybe they were doing bits and pieces of homework. In this case, I came across the chords and I just felt optimistic, and I liked the idea of a song saying that help is coming and thereâs a bright light on the horizon. Iâve got absolutely no evidence for this, but I like to believe it. It helps to lift my spirits, to move me forward, and hopefully it might help other people move forward too.

Wings, which we began in 1971, was in many ways an experiment to see whether there was life after The Beatles, to see whether that success could be followed. It was the result of asking myself, âAm I going to stop now?â The Beatles were so wonderful and all-encompassing, so successful. Now, should I stop and look for something else to do? But I thought, âNo. I like music too much, so whatever the something else is, it will be music.â <âŚ> But it wouldnât be The Wings, like The Beatles. Just Wings. My problem after The Beatles was, whoâs going to be as good as them? I thought, âWe canât be as good as The Beatles, but we can be something else.â I knew that if I were to go ahead with this project Iâd have to tough it out, but I had reserves of courage from being part of The Beatles when pennies were thrown at us at the village hall in Stroud, when we were still starting out. <âŚ> Starting off a new band is always a lot of fun, but itâs a lot of hard work too; you have to establish yourself. Following The Beatles was one of the most difficult things for me, just trying to live up to those expectations. It was even more difficult for her [Linda]. I started to write songs for Wings from 1971 onwards, when we got started, and I tried to keep them away from The Beatlesâ style. There were avenues I could go down that I wouldnât have gone down with The Beatles, like bringing in the influence of reggae, which Linda and I got into in Jamaica. I fancied doing something crazy, and Wings allowed me a little bit more freedom. So, this is a love song in which Cupidâs arrow is referenced, but itâs a malevolent arrow. Itâs possible Iâd seen an illustration of Cupid and thought, âCupid fires a bow, but Iâll switch it. It wonât be love; it will be the opposite.â The character in the song has been wounded. Heâs been cheated on. And it couldâve been a great relationship, couldâve been fantastic. As things stand, you couldnât âhave found a more down heroâ, because there was nobody more down than me at that moment. So, get it together and bring your love. I have always had a soft spot for this song. Thereâs a nice horn riff in it, and itâs funky. Sometimes you write to get a sort of feeling rather than a perfectly âcorrectâ lyric. Sometimes the lyric can be secondary to the feeling. This one has as much, or more, to do with the feel of the song, the groove.

John described âComing Upâ somewhere as âa good piece of workâ. Heâd been lying around not doing much, and it sort of shocked him out of inertia. So it was nice to hear that it had struck a chord with him. At first, after the breakup of The Beatles, we had no contact, but there were various things we needed to talk about. Our relationship was a bit fraught sometimes because we were discussing business, and we would sometimes insult each other on the phone. But gradually we got past that, and if I was in New York I would ring up and say, âDo you fancy a cup of tea?â

Itâs very possible that Iâd been feeling down in London. I was back in the solace of family and Liverpool, and what with the Beatles troubles down south, I was likely thinking, âWouldnât it be nice to get home and have that comfortable feeling again?â So, there may have been some of that in the background. I wouldnât rule it out. When I wrote the song, I hadnât been back home to Liverpool for a long time. But now I was at my dadâs house, which wasnât quite home because it was a house Iâd bought him when I got some money â a five-bedroomed mock Tudor place in Heswall near the River Dee. But it was still Liverpool, and it was âhomewardâ. So I added, âOnce there was a way to get back homeward / Once there was a way to get back homeâ. The song turned out to be quite soulful, and I think thatâs what attracted me to those lyrics in the first place â that notion of consoling a baby or reading kids a bedtime story. âSleep, pretty darling, do not cry / And I will sing a lullabyâ. Those are lines â or something with a similar sentiment â that most parents probably say to their children to soothe them when theyâre growing up.

It became a refuge of sorts, and it was nice to get away from London and everything â both the good and bad â that comes with the city. I would drive a Massey Ferguson 315 tractor and mow the hay, and I loved that because Iâd been a nature fiend as a kid, and this freedom just gave me time to think â âDown to Junior's Farm where I want to lay lowâ. It was such a relief to get out of those business meetings with people in suits, who were so serious all the time, and to go off to Scotland and be able just to sit around in a T-shirt and corduroys. I was very much in that mindset when I wrote this song. The basic message is, letâs get out of here. You might say itâs my post-Beatles getting-out-of-town song.

The context in which the song was written was one of stress. It was a difficult time because we were heading towards the breakup of The Beatles. It was a period of change partly because John and Yoko had got together, and that had an effect on the dynamics of the group. Yoko was literally in the middle of the recording session, and that was challenging. But it was also something we had to deal with. Unless there was a really serious problem â unless one of us said, âI canât sing with her thereâ â we just had to let it be. We werenât very confrontational, so we just bottled it up and got on with it. We were northern lads, and that was part of our culture. Grin and bear it. One interesting thing about âLet It Beâ that I was reminded of only recently is that, while I was studying English literature at the Liverpool Institute High School for Boys with my favourite teacher, Alan Durband, I read Hamlet. In those days you had to learn speeches by heart because you had to be able to carry them into the exam and quote them. There are a couple of lines from late in the play: O, I could tell you But let it be. â Horatio, I am dead I suspect those lines had subconsciously planted themselves in my memory. When I was writing âLet It Beâ, Iâd been doing too much of everything, was run ragged, and this was all taking its toll. The band, me we were all going through times of trouble, as the song goes, and there didnât seem to be any way out of the mess. <âŚ> Around the time we recorded âLet It Beâ, Iâd been pushing the band to go back out and play some club dates â to get back to basics and just bond again as a band, end the decade like weâd begun it, just playing for the love of it. We didnât get to do that as The Beatles, but that idea did inform the direction of the Let It Be album. We didnât want any studio trickery. It was supposed to be an honest, no-overdubbing album. It didnât exactly end up that way, but that had been the plan.

This song is also an analogy for when something goes wrong out of the blue, as I was beginning to find happening around this time in our business dealings. Recording sessions were always good because no matter what our personal troubles were, no matter what was happening on the business front, the minute we sat down to make a song we were in good shape. Right until the end there was always a great joy in working together in the studio. So there we were, recording a song like âMaxwellâs Silver Hammerâ and knowing we would never have the opportunity to perform it. That possibility was over. It had been knocked on the head like one of Maxwellâs victims. Bang bang.

In much the way that Linda wanted to flee from New York societyâ the constrictions of Park Avenue and Scarsdale â I wanted to flee from what The Beatles had become. I was hoping to escape, she was hoping to escape. So we had this feeling that we had each pulled the other âout of timeâ. Though the song was written immediately after The Beatlesâ breakup, it was somehow included under the Lennon-McCartney rubric, where it doesnât belong. It was one of my first solo songs, but because of the deal, it got caught in the publishing net. That was very annoying. <âŚ> âŚthe central idea being that thereâs so often a split between the inner and outer. <âŚ> The elements of fear and loneliness are very much to the fore. âMaybe Iâm afraid of the way I love youâ is itself a troubling idea. While itâs true that Linda is the person Iâm addressing, itâs also true that Iâm dealing in fiction. Starting with myself, the characters who appear in my songs are imagined. <âŚ> In any event, this song isnât the conventional way of presenting a relationship, or of some of the contradictions that can arise from being in love. <âŚ> It shows the fragility of love.

John went to the exhibition, and I think that was when he and Yoko met, towards the end of 1966. He climbed up a ladder to see what sheâd written on the ceiling, and got close enough to it to read it, and it said, âYes.â So he thought, âThatâs a sign; this is it,â and they fell madly in love. Once they were an item, there was the whole Beatles recording thing, where she would be there too. I think this started at the beginning of the âWhite Albumâ sessions â so, around the end of spring in 1968. And at first we all â all of us except John â found it pretty intrusive, but we went along with it and worked around her. And eventually I came to the realisation that, look, if John loves her, weâve just got to let it be, and weâve got to support this relationship. That was basically my feeling. Then, a year or two later, The Beatles broke up, and it was a bad period, a real low point, where everyone was taking potshots at everyone. And I felt that John and Yoko were particularly good in the potshot department, saying things in interviews, or comments that would make their way to you. They would say not always very pleasant things, and looking back on it, I sort of think, âWhy? Youâre annoyed, so say something unpleasant?â Over time, the situation eased off and my relationship with John got better, and I used to see him in New York or speak to him on the phone.

Iâm not sure I thought of it at the time, even though this was well after The Beatles disbanded, but I canât help connecting the oppressiveness associated with that phrase to the oppressiveness that coincided with the end of The Beatles. Not that The Beatles are over exactly. Itâs not like we were some little band that never had another record; even though half of us have died, the phenomenon continues stronger than ever. Spencer forgets to eat lunch.
It's just a fact. He doesn't always forget, but he forgets enough for you to meet him for lunch when you can or shoot him a reminder text.
Today, you have a day off, so you decide to visit. Spencer tells you he'll meet you at the entrance so you don't have to go through security and get a visitor's badge. You think it's a little ridiculous that you have to do that every time, but according to Spencer, it doesn't take much time at all for people to become a danger to others and themselves.
Not that I think you would do that! he's always quick to add. You adore him.
He gets off the elevator with Agent Morgan. You watch as they approach and Morgan sees you, then claps Spencer's shoulder.
"Oh, so this is where you disappear to for lunch," he says, wrinkling Spencer's shirt. You can tell Spencer notices right away and is mildly annoyed. He shrugs his friend off.
"What're you talking about?" Spencer asks, pursing his lips.
Agent Morgan grins. "How many lunches out do you need, Reid? Seems like you're always forgetting food. 'S not like you."
Spencer looks at him, brows furrowed. "I need one a day, according to the general medical opinion. And my lunch breaks aren't that long."
You suddenly feel queasy.
"Uh-huh." Agent Morgan just grins that sly grin. "Don't be too long. Have fun, you kids."
You walk out. Agent Morgan goes the opposite direction of where you parked your car. Spencer's warm hand squeezes your arm affectionately.
"Hi," he says. "I actually brought lunch today, I just wanted to eat with you, so I lied and told everyone that I don't have lunch so we can be alone."
"Sweet of you." You voice is thin.
"Are you okay?"
You try to keep walking, but hello! Behavior analyst boyfriend alert. Spencer gently tugs you to stop and face him.
"What's wrong?" he asks, forehead crinkled in concern. "Your voice has a tremor."
"Did you tell Agent Morgan that we have sex during your lunch breaks?" you ask, folding your arms.
"What? No, I don'tâno!"
"Because I know I've been making you wait, Spencer, and I know I keep saying I'll be ready at some point, but it's really shitty if you're telling people that I stop by just to give you head in your car or something."
Spencer's mouth opens and closes a couple of times in genuine, horrified shock, like when he'd found you hunched over the toilet in pain months ago during a bad stomach flu, and you realize then that you're way off the mark.
How could you think that? Of course Spencer wouldn't do that to you.
"Spencer, I'mâ"
"I would never say or imply that. I don't evenâI'm not mad or resentful of the fact that we haven't had sex, okay? I wouldn't care if you never wanted to have sex. I don't date you because I'm hoping to 'hit it and quit it.'"
You both cringe at his choice of words. Spencer sighs. "Okay, never using that phrase again. But it's true. I'm not waiting you out, and I'm definitely not talking about us having or not having sex to anyone at work." He shudders. "My living nightmare."
"I'm sorry. You're right, you wouldn't say that. I know you wouldn't. You wouldn't tell people even if we were having sex."
Spencer shakes his head emphatically. "Of course not."
Of course not.
"Then why did Agent Morgan imply that we were leaving to do it on your lunch break?" you ask unhappily.
"He was implying that we were sneaking off to have sex?" Spencer asks. "Are you sure?"
You frown. "Yeah, Spencer. He was teasing you about taking long lunches and always going out with me because..."
He nods in understanding. "Oh. That's... weird. Okay. I'll tell him not to say that stuff. I'll say that it bothers me."
You rub your arms self-consciously and turn your body away from Spencer. "It's not that weird for him to think, though. I do stop by a lot. And you're a young guy. Other guys your age probably visit their girlfriends during lunch and do that."
Spencer raises his eyebrows. "That seems excessive. And risky. And highly unsanitary. And uncomfortable. Andâ"
"Okay." You laugh a little. "I get it, Spencer. You're not like other guys."
"Story of my life."
"I guess I'm not really like other girls either," you say. "Having sex on your lunch break is probably more normal than dating for six months and never having sex."
Spencer frowns. "There's no such thing as normal. There's socially accepted behavior and opinion and laws and a bunch of made up crap that a lot of people are too afraid to challenge. I'm about the furthest from normal that you can get."
Your mouth flattens. "You're not bad, though."
"Exactly!" Spencer kisses your cheek, startling you. He doesn't often initiate kisses, preferring to show affection in his own way. You don't mind when he does kiss you though.
"Exactly," he says. "And neither are you. I doubt that how you feel about sex is so unusual. But even if it was, it wouldn't make a difference to me. It's how you feel, and I respect it. If I had a problem with it, we wouldn't be dating."
You glance down the block, at the building entrance. "But people might talk."
"Derek wouldn't," Spencer says firmly. "He jokes, but he would respect this if I told him to."
"It's not him, Spence, it's just..." You shake your head. "I've hit a stumbling block with every guy I've dated because they thought I was a prude, a tease, frigid. One guy said I needed shock therapy."
"I don't think that," he says softly. "I don't think any terrible things about you for feeling this way."
"No? You haven't tried to profile me based on my aversion to intimacy?"
Spencer's face scrunches with sadness. "No. You're my girlfriend, not a suspect. This isn't something I have to diagnose. I love you. I like spending time with you. Please don't think that I don't have the capacity to know what I want in a relationship. You don't have to be suspicious of me. I have nothing to hide about how I feel."
"People might think something's wrong with you for dating me," you say.
Spencer shrugs. "So what? People already think something's wrong with me. Doesn't mean they're right. I currently hold the record for the longest relationship in the BAU, besides Hotch. I'm the winner."
You sigh. Everything you throw at Spencer about how he should run while he can, he has a response for.
You might just give up and keep on letting him love you without any strings attached.
"Have I convinced you?" he asks. "I'm really good at debating."
"No kidding," you say. "I'm surprised you didn't become a lawyer."
"Hotch says there's still time." Spencer smiles. "Wanna go to that Thai place three blocks from here?"
Spencer loves the Thai place. It's one of his safe restaurants. You like it too, mostly because of how much Spencer likes it. And you trust his recommendations. He always checks the health inspection grade before eating somewhere.
"Don't you have lunch?"
"I have a peanut butter sandwich in my desk and I'll probably stay late. It'll keep."
"Okay." You lean in and kiss Spencer. He responds immediately, stroking your cheek with his thumb. The tenderness overwhelms you.
"You're really nice," you whisper.
"You deserve a nice boyfriend," he says. "And Chicken Satay. I'll get you both."
You link your arm with his as you begin to walk.
"Is six months really the record?"
"Oh, you don't know the half of it."

Hello, Nick! Can you share with us some of your favorite scenes into the writing process of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory? Or even some scenes that didn't end up on the show but you liked it?
Gosh, we wrote these so long ago it's so hard to come up with specifics. For the episodes I wrote, I loved writing the scenes in "Halfway Home" between Daniel and Kenji. I have a relationship in my own life that mirrors (to a certain extent) theirs, so to be able to put all of myself into that episode -- my first as a staff writer on a TV series -- was very special for me. It really allowed me to completely open myself up to working with other writers to intimately. I also get a giggle out of the part where Kenji doesn't have the words to describe Daniel's ultimatum, so he just grunts -- I didn't know if it would make anyone else laugh, but it seemed to, so it stayed! That was pretty fun.
"The Drop" was a bit tougher for me, as it was a pretty pivotal moment between Darius and Kenji. In their scene where they struggle over possession of Brooklynn's phone, I really wanted Darius to rear back to take a swing at Kenji, but for some reason, in a show where people are eaten by dinosaurs, throwing punches (or even implying it) was a no-go, but what ended up in there was still really fun and to the spirit of what I was trying to do.
"Batten Down the Hatches" was sooooo much fun to write as a horror and action fan -- I feel like the team really took what I wrote and ran with it in the best possible way! Seeing that one at SDCC with a group of like 800 fans was something I will never forget. People laughed, gasped, shouted at the screen -- it was just such a cool moment for me.
But getting to introduce Soyona Santos was also such a special thing for me. As I've said in the past, getting to write for Dichen Lachman was such a fanboy moment for me, I'm so glad I got to reintroduce her to the world and help usher in a more three dimensional version of the character than there was time for in Dominion. I love the cat-and-mouse vibe of their conversation. There's also the bit that I'm not sure many picked up on where Santos is the one who uses the term, "limb difference" for the first time in the series. Our consultants had taught me that phrase, and I thought it was an interesting choice for Santos to introduce it to Brooklynn. The thinking was somewhere along the lines of, in her quest to get deeper into the trafficking of dinos, she probably didn't have a ton of time to look into how she was really feeling about losing her arm, let alone find anyone else who'd introduce that phrase to her. So when Santos uses it, there's a split second where Brooklynn kinda connects with it. I think it shows that Santos isn't just a mustache-twirly type of villain. She's intelligent, she's hip to how language has evolved, and she might even be a good person in another life. There was a moment where it was called into question whether or not Santos would use the phrase, so I'm especially glad we got to keep it in there.
And don't even get me started on the episodes my amazing colleagues wrote for the rest of the series. They all did such an incredible job, I don't even have enough words to express how awesome their episodes turned out, not to mention how awesome all of the rest of the crew did in bringing the show to life!!

I don't think the Buck/Tommy break up was bad writing.
Finally got to the Buck/Tommy break up after hearing about it since it happened and without going into some of my major icks into some peoples reactions to it (I will never understand the Tommy haters), that was honestly really sad. But I don't think it was bad writing. I get it. That hurt like a sonofabitch, and I do think it sucks that Tommy is like gone gone now. Especially because I think in just about any other show this would usually be the time to actually explore Tommy's character even more, delve into his history, explore who he is outside of his relationship to Buck. But we're not getting that, which sucks. (Lou's going off to another show, which possibly played a hand in this decision to have Tommy exit.) But I also think that in shipping, we sometimes forget that characters exist as their own individuals outside of the ship dynamic. As Lou himself stated, Tommy breaking up with Buck was about Tommy, not Buck. It was about Tommy's fears. He essentially said "I already like you so much that when (not if, when) you break my heart, I will not be able to handle it."
As much as Buck believes Tommy to be this fully confident and unapologetic gay man... he is still a man with his own insecurities and his own fears and feelings.
I think finding out Buck also dated Abby scared Tommy. Not just because they both dated the same person but because dating Abby meant something to Buck. Buck is going on and on about how Abby was so important to him. How she changed his life and helped him grow as a person. But Buck's not with Abby anymore. And Tommy doesn't really know they're history, he just sees Buck comparing their relationship to the one he had with Abby. A relationship that did not last. And I think Tommy suddenly comes face to face with the possibility that him and Buck won't work, and he's thinking about how much he already likes Buck, maybe even loves Buck. And if... no "when", they don't work out..... that's going to destroy him.
So Tommy does the only thing that will keep him safe from that. He ends things with Buck now, before it REALLY has the ability to hurt him.
And as much as it sucks that... THAT is where it ends. Sometimes that happens. We as the audience knows that Buck would never do what Tommy is thinking, but Tommy doesn't. Tommy just knows that he could get really hurt if this doesn't work out. I kind of hope that perhaps Lou will come back for a small Cameo appearance to have one final conversation with Buck, to give Buck (and hopefully even Tommy) closure, similar to what we got with Abby. But also.... sometimes we don't get closure. And we just have to figure out how to move on from there. Either way, I don't think this is the end of Buck's queer journey, and I think it's worth it to stay tuned in to see where he goes from here. He still has a lot of self exploration left, and I'm excited to see it.
Also, big shout out to Lou Ferrigno Jr. for giving such a nuanced and honest portrayal to Tommy. I am sad we won't be getting more of him, he was absolutely amazing while he lasted.

âHow far would you go to protect Mondstadt?â
She blinks down at him, apparently thrown. âHow do you mean?â
âI mean,â he clarifies, âif for some reason Mondstadt was in danger because of me. Or, to make it more tangible, if I had put Klee in danger somehow. Would you kill me?â
She makes a tiny, horrified noise. âWhy are we talking about this hypothetical?â
âIâm a man of science,â he says, letting his voice tip halfway to joking. âHumour me.â
He watches the protests hover on her tongue before she swallows them down. âWalk me through the scenario again.â
âItâs quite simple,â he says. âThe context doesnât matter. All you need to know is that I have put Klee and the rest of Mondstadt in danger somehow, and the only way to save her is to kill me. Would you?â
Jean swallows, but he can see her answer in the set of her jaw even before she opens her mouth. âYes,â she says. âI would.â
Albedo nods. This is the answer he was looking for. He is the anomaly, the transgression, the liability; she must be willing to kill him to save the people they both love. He shouldnât feel as betrayed as he does.
âStill,â Jean says, before he can thank her and turn to leave, âthere must be other options.â
âPardon?â
âEither I kill you or I let Klee die. Why are those my only two choices?â
âIâŚâ He trails off. âJust because.â
She shakes her head. âFrom a man of science, thatâs not very scientific.â
He laughs a little incredulously. âI suppose I never saw any other way forward.â
âWell, the forced dilemma is part of the fun,â Jean allows graciously. âBut real life is messier than that.â
âI think, in this hypothetical, there would be no other options.â
She makes a low, noncommittal noise. âIâm not saying youâre wrong. Iâm just saying that maybe you arenât seeing the whole picture.â
âHow do you mean?â he asks, echoing her earlier words.
âI meanâŚâ She pauses. âEula is out in the field a lot, so she sees much more of the day-to-day workings of the Knights than I do. But as the Acting Grand Master, I have a birdâs-eye view of the organization as a whole. As a result, when faced with a quandary, she often offers solutions I would never have come up with on my own, and vice versa.â She makes a small motion with her hand, like sheâs going to touch his shoulder, then drops it again. âThatâs why we have people around us. So they can catch things we miss.â
âI see,â Albedo says.Â
Jeanâs blue-grey eyes, shadowed in the dim light, search his face. He fights the urge to look away from that piercing gaze.Â
âI would hope,â she says finally, her voice low, âthat if you believed you were a danger to yourself or others, you would come to me. Iâm not saying I can always help. But the Knights look after our own, Captain.â
âI see,â Albedo says again. His chest is tight. âThank you, Master Jean.â
She scrutinizes him for a moment more, then smiles a small smile. âI hope my answer was satisfactory?â
âVery much so.â
She looks relieved. âOh, good. I was worried I wasnât making much sense there.âÂ
âYou made perfect sense,â he reassures her, strangely endeared by her earnestness. âBut now itâs late, and you should get to bed. Iâll take my leave.â
âVery well. Have a good night, Albedo,â she says.
He turns away, and watches the sliver of golden light from the foyer fade into shadow as the door shuts. The chill autumn air threads around his ankles as he sets his feet towards home.
If he ever loses control, she will not be able to save him. He knows that already.Â
Still, it is nice to know that she would try.
