I consider myself lucky-- I have friends and followers that like my V or my style and as a result I've managed to mostly skirt the issue. And then I scroll through the main tags and see newcomers or people on console posting photos for fun or to try to be included, and they have like, one wayward like. I add them into my queue and try to shuffle it around so those posts don't just stay at the bottom, but there's enough that a lot that end up getting unnoticed and forgotten.

I know that people have their friend groups and people tend to reblog from their dashes these days but the clear message that tends to comes across from it is this: you're not visible in this fandom if you don't invest in a gaming rig and take high-quality screenshots.

There's something bitterly depressing in knowing that no matter how hard you try, there's just a certain subset of the fandom who will never ever reblog your screenshots if they were taken on vanilla.
