okay so this might get me in trouble with the pibby fans but (tw: mentions of ruined childhoods)

I... don't like Pibby. Why? Well it's because I don't like how they're taking childhood cartoon icons and basically ruining them for people who grew up with said icons, and I also don't like that people are being inspired by this clear childhood-ruining material to ruin childhoods even further (don't lie to me fnf modders, I've seen your pibby-fication of cartoon icons, especially of my interests like Unikitty).

I, as you may already know, am kind of a purist about certain things, and beloved cartoons are one of them. Boil it down to a combination of nitpicking and being overly sensitive if you must, but this is my opinion anyway. Don't get me wrong, I like the concept of a glitch corrupting a population, but... why choose beloved cartoons and not literally anything else? And did I forget to mention that I grew up with a majority of the cartoons that the corruption corrupts?

That last sentence should probably tell you why I don't like Pibby if it wasn't clear already.

Of course, I don't want or mean to target the fandom in any way, as this is merely just my opinion. I can handle yours, as long as you can handle mine.

Having said that, I believe I've said enough.

Here's a little explanation from me: EA/Maxis has not motivated me in the slightest to play Sims4 in the last few months. Not even with the new "Life and Death" expansion pack. I am now 50+ and being confronted with ghosts and a grim reaper trainee on game screens every day does not increase my motivation to play Sims4. Not even to buy this EP. I play the game to relax from everyday life and have a little fun. I don't need ghosts or funerals in the game. But I would like EA/Maxis to make all worlds swimmable, because each one has so much potential. For example "Sulani" ... Why can't the little pixel Sims surf? I would like to have such activities in the game.

I would like to thank the modders who have made the Sims4 game really interesting and playable up to now. 🥰 A big thank you also to the pose creators. 🥰 You all have my utmost respect. 🤩 Of course I don't want to forget all the other CC creators and also say "thank you". Thanks to you, I haven't given up on the Sims 4 game yet. 🙂‍↕️

before anything else, please do not harass or engage with the mod or its author.

let me clarify: the mod author knows what they're doing. i messaged them privately before citing concerns of cultural appropiation because i thought one of their wips (the tattoo you see in the thumbnail) was too similar to inuit tattoos. i was as polite as i could and shared many resources about the practice and its meaning; their response was that they instead had gotten inspiration from "amerindian tattoos" and that unless someone with a similar tattoo irl (aka inuit women) got offended, they would just consider it artistic liberty. when my partner (who's indigenous) pointed out the issues with the tattoo and the character you see in the thumbnail (which is a very heavily stereotyped representation of native women), their reply was basically to pull the old "special snowflake got offended" card. when other people also brought it up, they made similar replies. (and of course, let's not forget about the amount of people in the comment section issuing the same "haha people get offended by everything xD" replies, or straight up insulting my partner and calling them an ableist slur).

again: don't send threats to the original modder, or even engage with them. multiple people have told them about it and shared resources and they know about it, and as stated before, do not care. just block, and i doubt that nexus will do anything about them if it's reported.
