ngl i got very discouraged today because i’ve gained weight since the last time i visited the doctor about four weeks ago; i weighed in at 237 pounds today which is very not great but i just have to keep reminding myself that muscle weighs more than fat and also that all the physical activity i’ve been doing after rotting in bed for literally 6+ months isn’t going to magically make me skinnier within a single damn month 🥲

Tip for engaging with fellow humans (especially the young and impressionable ones, even more especially if they're a child you're responsible for):

If you notice someone seems to be repeatedly neglecting/struggling to do something important, don't address it by berating them or shaming them or being passive-aggressive or anything else like that. Don't create an environment that shows they can't trust you, don't show them that they should expect criticism and judgement if/when others find out

I promise you it will do much more harm than good (if it does good at all which... something something you don't get someone to start doing things by using shame something something) and it will encourage them to try to hide the problem instead of getting help addressing it
