The funniest part of black friday for me is to look up toys and steam games I won't buy anyway :')
#I want that hydraulic fire engine for my Marshall toy...#But a speedboat for Zuma and a garbage truck for Rocky are off limits entirely like why the hell are these so much more expensive??#I'm gonna build my own garbage truck with cardboard at some point#At least I can make sure it'll look like the first movie one which I like a lot#And Zuma's movie hovercraft too#Y'know what fuck it I'll just build stuff with cardboard next year

I know many people (including me) are upset about Air Rescue and it's Pup Inequality but to think of it I think it's a good concept. To me, I think the decision to have only 3 pups have Air Vehicles is so that it's not too similar to JTTR (unsure if those have merch) that had every pup in a jet and fly around. Kinda like how Sea Patrol only had Rocky and Rubble have Underwater Vehicles, Chase and Marshall have Boats and Zuma and his hovercraft that can be both. While Aqua Pups had all pups have underwater vehicles.
On the bright side, there might be a future mission which will have both Air and Sea involved so you get three pups up in the air while the other three pups on water.
For context, for those of you unaware of this stuff.
It's been established now that the latest subseries, "Air Rescue", will only give new vehicles to Chase, Marshall and Skye. Sadly, Rocky, Rubble and Zuma were left out (Rocky did get what looked like a new vehicle at the start of the first Air Rescue episode, but it was just for unloading luggage at the new airport). And for those who have heard of this and might have still have some doubts... well...
(Image courtesy of TybsTybsy on Twitter/X)
Even the merchandise shows Rocky, Rubble and Zuma in their default vehicles. They're not getting anything, so hence the "inequality" part that a lot of fans have talked about with the latest subseries.
But the thing is, they really didn't have to do this. We've had subseries in the past that were similar to others, such as season 3's Jungle Rescue and season 10's Jungle Pups, but they still found ways to differentiate them while being fair to each pup. They could've done the same thing here, even if the other three weren't given airborne vehicles; Marshall's plane could've included a submersible dropship that's piloted by Zuma, Skye's plane could've included a unique construction vehicle for Rubble, etc. If anything, this could've made for some interesting toys for the kids, too. Sadly, they decided to just not bother, and unlike season 3's Air Pups and the Jet to the Rescue mini movie, three pups inexplicably were kept grounded. It's odd.
Maybe they only modeled three new vehicles to save money, since the animation recently got a complete overhaul?
Or maybe they didn't want six big vehicles in the air at once. For Jet to the Rescue, their planes were small, so that wasn't a problem. The ones in Air Rescue, however, are much larger, and that could've been a bit awkward, trying to have all six in the air at once. Then again, they didn't absolutely need six big vehicles, as even three large planes and three smaller ones could've worked, too. I guess there still would've been some inequality with that, but not as bad as what they decided to go with.
Who knows the true reason. Whatever the case, let's just hope this doesn't become a regular thing. It'll be a shame if the next subseries, which we know is "Fire Rescue", only gives new firefighting vehicles to Chase, Marshall and Skye again, while the other three just twiddle their paws and wait for Ryder to give them something to do.

Zuma Appreciation Week - Day 6, Favorite Vehicle
Guess what? Yeah. I don't have one favorite XD Let's go for a top 3 this time!
Starting with the first movie's Hovercraft! I absolutely LOVE how it looks, being a nicely upgraded and bigger version of his standard Hovercraft from the show, not to mention how versatile this thing is, what with it being able to go into submarine mode by getting rid of the floats - and having the floats base be a life raft!! I promised myself if I ever can affor buying another Zuma toy, I want it to be THIS Hovercraft. Which will probably be impossible for me to acquire lol last I searched it's costing almost 200 here in my country
Plus it's the ONE TIME we get to see any of his Hovercrafts ACTUALLY BEING A HOVERCRAFT, y'know, ACTUALLY BLOWING WIND AND HOVERING A GOOD FOOT ABOVE GROUND. THANK YOU FOR THAT. It always pissed me off to see his Hovercrafts SLIDING on the floor or sailing in the water like regular boats XD
His Sea Patrol submarine is in my top 3 too. I really like its design... Small underwater speedboat, my beloved- I don't have much to talk about it, I just... Really like it. Idk how to explain.
And last, but not least, THIS- The Mission PAW Motorcicle which doubles as a small jetski- I WISH WE'D HAVE SEEN THIS MORE TIMES???? I think he used it like, ONCE???? I remember seeing the bike get loaded into the Mission Cruiser but I don't remember seeing him driving it until the Floating Carriages episode. I'll check the episodes galleries later to see if my memory's tricking me or not. Too bad this thing's "stuck" in Barkinburg, I bet Zuma would love to drive it more times anywhere else.

my conscience told me the mighty pups movie on sept 2023 will be a disastrous smokey mountain (๐ฏ๐ ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐น๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฟ๐๐ฏ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ'๐ ๐๐๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐ด๐๐ต ๐๐ถ๐๐ต ๐ฎ ๐ช๐ฅ๐๐๐๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ธ๐๐ฒ ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐บ๐ฒ ๐ฎ ๐๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐ป๐ด ๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ธ ๐ถ๐ป๐๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ ๐คฆ) and i had enough with mayor g*** w****er in a recent episode where katie takes over as a substitute leader of the squad.
so might as well sit through with their first movie as the last hurrah for me before hitting myself in reality where i need to STOP WATCHING NICK JR. and...boy it's a 50/50 in terms of storyline and characterization
my approved crumbs: ๐ค๐ค๐ค
- appealing landscapes/setting of adventure bay to the big city
- adorable, realistic makeover of the main six pups
- high stakes in numerous action scenes
- rubble being a comic relief in a span of 30 to a minute
- upgraded vehicles (mostly on marshall's fire truck, zuma's hovercraft sub hybrid)
- satisfying revenge against the purple bastard, six little trashballs and his pompous henchmen (but it could have been more bloody though...)
- townies of adventure city + bay are more supportive, cooperative, good samaritans, and wise than we have now on Earth
- self-aware joke about paw patrol had in-universe merchandise
main gripes: ๐๐๐
- TOO MUCH SCREENTIME OF THE PURPLE MOTHERF****ER BEING AN INSUFFERABLE, PUTRID BANE OF EXISTENCE AND RESISTING MY URGE OF DOING 7 PAGE MUDA IN HIS FACE AND SMACK HIM WITH A MORNING STAR (solely the main reason it took 2 1/2 years of hibernation before mustering my courage to get through hell and back with this film)
- six main pups' personalities and flaws were altered or butchered out of existence
(i.e. marshall stays the same but where is his kindhearted trait from the series? skye lacks her signature backflips and bubbly energy including her fond of aviation)
- robodog, everest, tracker were ABSENT
- lack or minimal of relevant heart-to-heart interactions between the main six pups
debatable dรฉbรขcle
- while i do like the addition of chase's backstory and could sympathise his struggles of surviving alone after getting kicked out of his former owners, its latter kind of derailed of what he should have been in the show : a mature and caring police dog in position as a leader of his team in case ryder gets in a pickle and never leaves out of his own
- liberty is just a female counterpart of arrby, but i can see that spin master wants to add female members of the team which is understandable
unfortunately this is now the final time i would stay with them...technically a permanent farewell ๐ข

Would Rocky and/or Zuma be VSCO pups? Also also, are the pups' and Ryder's vehicles green vehicles(eco-friendly vehicles)?
I never heard about VSCO before in my life. Had to look it up. I'm guessing you mean an app where the users take photos, edit and publish them? Where I live, the popular app for this was Instagram and for a short while, Snapshot.
I'm guessing maybe Zuma might be into taking photographs, he's got plenty free time to do whatever he wants and he's one of the few pups who's shown to go out on their own, to mind their own business pretty often, like how he goes windsurfing regularly without necessarily bringing anyone else with him. I can see him seeing something, taking a picture, publishing it. He would like to share his world as he sees it, he's the type who loves nature and wants to share his experiences.
As for their vehicles, sad to disappoint but they're almost all fuel-driven. It's clear none of them is electric or whatever just by their engine noise. The most I can say for that is that maybe they use alternative fuel, like maybe corn-based or soy-based fuel. Maybe diesel, Idk. Ryder and Rocky may have adapted a bunch of filters and stuff to make sure they'd pollute less, but it doesn't change the fact they're run by regular fuel.
I'm putting the rest under the cut, first because this post got long AGAIN, secondly because I have a dear friend who didn't watch the Mighty Movie yet and I'll talk a bit about something from the movie with screenshots too soooooo I don't wanna spoil their fun ๐
The exceptions are the Mighty Vehicles. Those are fueled by the pups' own energy once they're powered up with the Meteor energy. I imagine this would maybe drain the pup's strength at some point if they spend their energy to drive those vehicles for too long, but neither the show nor the Mighty Movie had anything about that.
Also it's important to note: In the show, their Mighty vehicles won't work once they run out of power. They stop glowing, they stop hovering, they just stop working altogether, meaning they don't have an alternative engine/fuel to work without the Meteor power up. You can see it happening in the episode when the Copycat steals the Meteor from their tower while they're out on a rescue mission.
In the Mighty Movie, however, Ryder apparently accounted for the possibility of that being an issue and had engines installed with emergency fuel from beginning, so they can still be driven normally even when not powered up - they only lose ability to use the weapons/tools that are to be energized by their powers. The best way to notice that is if you look at Zuma's hovercraft: It doesn't have propellers! Instead, it's the Meteor's power swirling where the propellers would have been that gives the Hovercraft the impulse it needs to move. Once the power is out, though, you can clearly spot a motherfucking turbine just between them-- Ryder, my man, that's ONE WAY to make a Hovercraft move for sure XD
The good news is that Zuma's hovercrafts in general are literally NEARLY 100% green and the most eco-friendly a vehicle could ever be and that's simply because it's a hovercraft! These vehicles have little to no friction against surfaces when moving, barely any contact at all, be it over water, over grass, over a road, over a swamp, whatever. No friction against surfaces means that the engine doesn't need to produce much strength/power to make the vehicle move in the first place, which in turn means way less consumption of fuel and energy. A full tank will make those orange bad boys go daily for months, while the others will need to refill their gas every other week XD
