Rehabilitated Chapter 2: The Old and the New

It had only been a week since the surprise visit from the octo, and it was all that was on 3's mind. She thought for hours about all of the possible octolings in her life that it could be. The only problem was that most of them hated her, and would probably only visit to finish the job that commander Tartar had started. Until one outlier came to 3's mind. The girl from the metro... No. No it couldn't have been.

Amidst all of 3's thoughts, the doctor walks into the room with someone who has an all too familiar voice too 3. It was her "mother", though 3 never saw her as one.

"How is he doing"

"Still no movement, but there is still a steady pulse and brain activity, Mrs. Kaori."

"I hope my Sam wakes up soon"

3 had heard enough and started tuning her out. That name made her sick too her stomach. Ever since 3 came out to her mom their relationship had been horrible. Her mom tried everything to make her "son" normal again, until one day, at 14, she ran away. They had never seen each other since. All of these thoughts came flooding back too 3, it was growing too much for her to handle. If only she was able to control her body she would go strangle her right now... but alas, she could not. As her mom and the doctor said their goodbyes and left the room, 3 drifted to sleep in an attempt to calm down.

3 awoke the next morning to the sound of the door to her room. Expecting the doctor, 2 attempted to fall back asleep.

"h...hello...a-again."

3 immediately perked up. It was her. The octo. The same broken Inklish and all.

"you pro-obably do not remember m-me." She sheepishly said

3 tried one last time to finally figure out who this was, but she couldn't. She had thought of everything and exhausted every option. That is until...

"um... t-thank you for your help at k... ka-amabo co."

Holy shit. It was her. The octo from the metro, it really was her! 3 had to say something, ANYTHING. She tried and tried and tried. Nothing was working. The footsteps of the metro octo were walking out the door to leave.

"h..."

The octo stopped dead in her tracks.
