I've had this idea of the links reacting to the reader who rode a motorcycle, like street racing, or trick riding! like in a modern time, they find a bike under a tarp or smthn and ask them about it, and they offer to show them, and turns out they did trick riding/ street racing/etc. [with a helmet and leather jacket ofc, safety first!!] [idk really, i just like the idea and its been stewing lol]

A flustered Twilight isn't something I've gotten to see often, but it's a very addictive sight seeing someone as tough as him crumble like this over something so small. My bike's fine, the tarp's only torn a tiny bit and my helmet, well there's nothing that could scratch that any more than it's already been scratched. I wonder if I could push his fluster any further, maybe if I…

“Hey Twi, you know I promised to take you to a coffee shop at some point? So I can prove to you it’s not broken, want to ride with me?”

That did it, he’s redder than I’ve ever seen him ever and I think I can still push him further. Taking my jacket off of the hook, tossing it on then handing Twi my spare set with a wink.

“Come on pretty boy, let me treat you?”

Oh? That is cute, it seems the wolf’s lost his ability to speak as he follows my lead by putting on the gear I’ve lent to him. I’m just glad I keep some spares at all times, for when things like this come up it can be a lifesaver. Walking the bike outside with him trailing behind me with lovestruck eyes before I gesture to him to come closer. Gently guiding him to sit behind me on the bike then coaxing his arms around my waist with very little complaint from him only to start up the motor. 

It’s been a while since I’ve felt the freedom of riding like this, I think Twilight is enjoying it as well which is the main thing. Pushing my bike more from his unspoken joy, it’s like I’m back to racing again and with that thrill-seeking side winning out I push us further still hitting about a hundred now, likely faster than he’s ever moved before.

And then we’ve already arrived. Clearly he doesn’t seem ready to let go of me, the way his arms have tightened again is a good enough show of that.

“You can hold me more later Twi, don’t you want to go in then I can explain more?” 

“Alright, darlin’.”

It took a moment for him to find something on the menu that he liked the sound of and was safe for him, while I just ordered my usual but after that, we’re free to just talk for a while, although even after all of that his blush still hasn’t died down the smallest amount. 

“So I’m guessing you’re curious about my bike? I used to spend a lot of my spare time racing so it’s a very high-quality one.”

“It’s that important to you but you’re willin to let me ride it?”

“I mean, of course. There’s no fun in riding alone, and I trust you.”

I think that last sentence might have broken him, he’s a blushing mess mumbling about how good I look and how impressed he is. He’s sweet. Although now it might take a while for me to be able to talk to him again.

I used to be a pretty casual Granblue player who was mostly around for Belial and about a year ago I developed a strange fascination with Seofon, to a point that I got a bunch of my friends into him as well (including Shades, it's my fault). I was apprehensive about recruiting an Eternal, so I got Seofon from the freebie I got after Seeds of Redemption in early February

...I then recruited the other nine Eternals over the course of the next seven months

Just yesterday I transcended Seofon for the third time

Which meant clawing my way to victory against Ewiyar in a grueling solo battle, but I pushed through. For. For him

I used to be so casual and I've been getting nonstop Platinum every month since March. I've gotten so much stronger, especially in Wind. Can you guess why? It's all his fault

I used the free revans weapon we got from the anni event to get a Sette di Spade because I can't do revans raids yet and I've been using it ever since too -

The friend group keeps making jokes that ever since he noticed my interest, we've been getting a lot of content for him as well, Heart of the Sun and Last Sumo Warrior and Relink and the Grandcypher Kitchen and his art for the orchestra concert and who knows what else

I also had to grind like crazy in Relink to unlock him immediately when I hadn't unlocked Proud quests yet so I spent hours farming Ahrimans, so I'm used to suffering for him at least

I just wanted to get that off my chest as I am the resident Most Normal Seofon Anon

You yawned as you made your way through the House of Lamentation. It had been gloomy outside all day, making the darkness of the Devildom feel even darker than usual. Everybody knew it was only a matter of time before the storm that was blowing in began in earnest.

You had something of an unspoken agreement with Belphegor when it came to stormy evenings like this. The extra layer of grey clouds had a tendency to make you a little sleepy. Since Belphie was always sleepy, it was the perfect time for the two of you to nap together. And so you were wandering around the house, trying to find him. Likely he was already asleep somewhere.

You poked your head into the kitchen just in case he was with Beel. And this time you happened to be right - that was exactly where he was. He was even awake, which was surprising.

Beel was busy making some kind of enormous sandwich, but Belphie was making two cups of some warm drink.

You came over to find that he was mixing the ingredients for devil hot cocoa in the two mugs in front of him.

You folded your arms. "You guys know we just had dinner, right? I'm not too surprised that you're already eating again, Beel. But Belphie? I'm surprised you're not already sleeping, it's been so gloomy today."

Belphie finished what he was doing and turned to you, handing you one of the mugs. "Leave Beel to his after-dinner snack, MC, and come with me to the planetarium."

You cradled the warm mug in your hands as you followed Belphie to the planetarium. You found a pile of pillows and blankets already on the sofa, including Belphie's favorite cow print pillow.

Belphie placed the mug on the table in front of the sofa before sitting down and burrowing himself into the blankets.

"Come on, MC," he said. "I heard this storm is going to have a lot of lightning. The planetarium is the best spot to watch from because of all the windows."

You finally understood what was going on. You settled in next to Belphie, mug of cocoa in hand. After taking a few sips of your drink, you rested your head on Belphie's shoulder and you felt the gentle weight of his head on yours. You were both already sleepy and you could feel yourself drifting. It was so warm there in the blankets and the steady movement of Belphie's body as he breathed lulled you.

Just as you were sure you couldn't stay awake another moment, the rain began. It started quiet, but it ramped up quickly, pattering the glass windows. And then the thunder began to rumble. It also started quietly, low and slow in a way that made it seem like it was in fact rolling across the Devildom.

Then there was a loud clap of thunder and you jolted a little. You managed to keep your drink in its mug, but you were dislodged from your comfortable position.

"Are you okay?" Belphie asked.

"Yeah, it just startled me, that's all," you said.

And then a bright flash of lightning streaked across the dark sky, illuminating the tops of the trees outside and creating a strange pattern on the floor of the planetarium. It lasted for only a few seconds before everything was dark again.

"Woah," you said.

Belphie nodded. "It looks really cool, right?"

"It's amazing," you said.

The two of you listened to the rain and thunder, watched the lightning, and finished off your drinks. You were nuzzled in close to Belphie as the room continued to light up with flashes of blinding light. You could see the jagged streaks in the sky, cutting through the clouds.

"Thank you for showing me this," you said. "I was ready to sleep through it."

Belphie laughed a little. "Me, too. But I thought you might be more interested in staying awake this time."

You realized suddenly that Belphie was staying awake to show you something amazing. That he was content to forgo his usual nap time routine just to be with you for this.

You reached out to cup Belphie's cheek, turning his face toward you. He looked into your eyes before leaning forward to meet your lips in a kiss. Lightning flashed through the room as the rain continued to patter against the glass. Belphie's arms were around your waist, his body providing even more warmth there beneath the pile of blankets.

The two of you would eventually fall asleep as the thunder and lightning calmed, leaving only the gentle sound of the lingering rain.

I often feel lonely, and i know i can be difficult to love because i've gotten so used to being single. I can be a little hot and cold, mostly cold when people see me at first but i promise there's a warmer side to me when i get comfortable with someone. I am definitely a homebody, but if someone happens to open the floodgates on one of my interests, unfortunately they just got themselves trapped in a 30 minute unskippable cutscene.

This would be what many would consider a slow burn, but I think it would work out.

Astarion is basically if a cat was a very traumatized person. He'd honestly appreciate your more independent streak and not at all put off by your cold side. If you hit him with all that warmth all at once, he wouldn't know what to do with it. He'd thaw at about the same pace you do as you slowly suss each other out.

He'd likely express an interest in your art, giving you fair, if sometimes harsh criticism, and shockingly good advice on how to actively improve it. After so long of fearing the next day, he'd settle in nicely to a safe, comfortable home where he can read without interruption as you each give each other the space you need. At the same time, if he sees you laying about, he'll be quick to berate you into shape to get the things you need to get done.

The man also said stealing for Safeway is morally correct, so in terms of saving money in this capitalist landscape, you've got somebody to help.

I do have a soft spot for this man.

I’d like to request a Sailboat for your event !! Specifically for Harry Potter, or just the young Marauders

- I am arospec & queer. I don’t experience romantic attraction but I love the idea of a relationship. I love having a person who is committed to you & also some relationship stuff like cuddling and dates is nice to me :^) This is something important to me that I would tell my partner just to make sure we’re on the same page. I don’t have any gender preferences for dating

- I use all pronouns with a slight preference towards they/them

- I am pale, lanky, and like to think I’m androgynous looking. I have shoulder length brown hair with white streaks in the front and bangs. I have brown eyes, freckles, heavy eye bags, and wear glasses almost always. I dress in a lot of big sweaters, long skirts, and hand me down t shirts + baggy pants.

- In general I’m extremely shy and can come off a little cold to people who don’t know me well just because I’m very awkward and do not know how to talk to people at all. I don’t make friends easily but when I do I am very talkative and lively around them. My humor is pretty sarcastic yet lighthearted, I also laugh way too easily. I am a little nerdy about my interests (fantasy, sharks, & crochet) and will gladly ramble to anyone who‘ll listen. I have a hard time understanding social cues and can be seen as very odd. I’m very caring towards my friends and put them before all else, even myself most times. I can be a pushover and have a very difficult time standing up for myself, I hate confrontation and will suffer if it means I don’t have to talk to someone but I will stand by my morals and speak up when I feel something is truly wrong. I’m a huge crybaby, I will literally cry at any little thing but I don’t really see it as a bad thing necessarily, that’s just how I release negative emotions. I’ve been described as timid, empathetic, kindhearted, and a good listener. I’ve also been compared to the main (human) character of Ratatouille an oddly high amount of times ??

- My giving love language is quality time, I love spending time with my loved ones even when we’re just sat in comfortable silence. I also love giving gifts, I crochet and make jewelry for others quite often. My receiving love language is preferably words of affection and physical touch <3

hi! snow globe anon again!

I've managed to almost complete my collection. I am just missing "popular" and "one short day". granted, I've had "the wizard and I" since around 2015/2016 and got "as long as you're mine" in march 2024 (would have gotten it when I saw the show last may 2023, but couldn't justify the price at that time). I've gotten "defying gravity", "for good", "dancing through life", and "what is this feeling?" all within the last couple months thanks to eBay. I did have to buy two different "what is this feeling?" snow globes since the first one I bought was broken by the time it arrived due to poor packaging (😢). I did also buy another "for good" and "defying gravity" snow globe to give to my mom for her birthday and Christmas. I do have my eye on a "one short day" one, but haven't had any luck finding a "popular" one. I've heard that "popular" can be impossible to find.

I'm kind of impressed with how quick I was able to almost complete the collection. I am sad, however, that only two have the original boxes since they were bought while they were still being sold at the show.

so I was curious on how long did it take you to find them all? did you buy all of yours at the show or did you have to do some googling to find them?

Congrats on building your collection!

I first saw Wicked in 2010, but I didn't buy a snow globe until 2012 when I saw the show in Singapore (because I was trying to be good, and was like... do I really need this? But also by 2012 I was earning Teacher money, instead of Supermarket Cashier money, so I could afford it more).

So the only ones I really have had to track down were Defying Gravity and Popular.

DG I got via ebay- I think in 2012 or 2013? Popular is definitely harder to find- I only got that one I think around 2015/2016? And that was because a friend had it and she was moving overseas and therefore selling a bunch of stuff.

Other than that, I've either gotten mine at the show or have had to buy them via the US store and have them shipped to Australia- which between shipping costs and the exchange rate can be very expensive.

I got the ALAYM one only last year when the show came back to Australia, so I guess it's taken me a little over a decade to get them all! I do have all my OG boxes though, thankfully. I have moved far much more than I would like in this time and this way I don't worry about them getting broken. The boxes sit in a storage tub in the storage cage of my apartment building's basement until I need them.

These were hard to narrow down, but I finally picked my top five favorite quotes. I've put them below the cut since it's a longer post. I hope you enjoy them! ❤️

This quote was said by Metallica's lead singer, James Hetfield. He wrote a letter to the Metallica fans and this was written in that letter. Fun fact: I met Metallica on March 11th, 2019, and since James and Lars are my two favorite band members, I asked Lars to write James' quote on a piece of paper. Now, Lars is Danish, and when I had him write this quote for me, I asked him to write it in Danish! He did, and I've since gotten it tattooed on my left forearm. Here are pictures of James' letter, Lars writing the quote on a piece of paper for me, and then my arm.

2. "Embrace your differences and the qualities about you that you think are weird. Eventually, they're going to be the only things separating you from everyone else."

This one was said by Sebastian Stan, and it really speaks to me because I've never felt like I've really fit in anywhere. I've always been shy and kind of kept to myself and this quote is one I hold near and dear to my heart. Another fun fact: I took my little girl to meet Sebastian last year at New York Comic Con. She proposed to him in her photo op and I filmed the moment she met him during the autograph session. Click here to watch it! ❤️

This is a quote from the movie The Notebook based on the book written by Nicholas Sparks. This is by far my favorite movie of all time, and I've seen it so many times that I can quote it from beginning to end. Yet another fun fact: I'm a former active duty Marine and was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station (or MCAS) Cherry Point in Havelock, North Carolina. One year for a charity event, Nicholas Sparks came to our base to sign books and take pictures. I was fortunate enough to meet him and tell him that I named my daughter after a character from the movie. Also, when I married my husband this quote was incorporated into our ceremony. Below is a picture of me meeting Nicholas Sparks.

4. "They say it is the first step that costs the effort. I do not find it so. I am sure I could write unlimited 'first chapters'. I have indeed written many."

The amazing J.R.R. Tolkien said this one. I am a huge Tolkien fan and have been since I was a little girl. I'm full of fun facts today: My dad used to read me the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy as bedtime stories, and a couple of years ago he gave me his original copies that he bought back in the 1970s. Here's a photo of them.

One of the greatest writers, Stephen King, said this. Well, he's one of the greatest in my personal opinion anyway. He's been one of my favorite authors for as long as I can remember. I don't have any fun facts about him though, other than my grandma gifted me her entire collection of his works that she collected over the years. 🥰 One day, I hope to meet him and thank him for inspiring me to want to get my writing out there. I hope one day I become a published author.

as for tips?? hmm,,, i havent really gotten back into making / applying to apply fics so i don't really remember much...but ig i would say that something i've learned is to be super specific with the forms !! usually like. i put a small desc after each category just to let them know what exactly i want from them :D

also for the last two af's i did i kinda used slots,, and based on experience, they're kinda neat to do (as long as you don't go on a first come, first serve basis)! i don't know, it just feels a lot more organized for me to read through every form per slot smth like that !! (but if your af doesn't require slots than that's fine too :D)

as for deadlines ~ i guess i'd go with like a month's or a month and a half's time?? LKASLKDHL whatever your comfortable with !!

i also suggest making a rough outline for the story,, i didn't do that for my first few af's and i don't think i wrote much chapters for them...so an outline helps even if personally i don't use outlines that mcuh HELP

Kaeya

You were busy with the investigation team as recently you had received some information on the Fatui when your boyfriend, Kaeya had barged into your office. "Hello my lieblieg~" He slams the door wide open as he struts in like a celebrity. "Kaeya what are you doing? I'm busy right now." You inquire not once looking away from the papers. "Oh, I'm just here to take something before I leave for Angel's Share." Kaeya says as he walked towards your desk. "What is it?" You looked up from the papers. Kaeya quickly leaned in stealing a kiss from you and soon he was walking out the door leaving you red in your seat.

Diluc

You were reading a book by the fire place waiting for Diluc to come back from work. "Welcome back, master Diluc." Adelinde warmly greets Diluc who had just came back. You stood up from your chair and made a beeline towards him. "Welcome home, Diluc." You greeted. You noticed his annoyed expression when you inched closer towards him. "Did something happen at work today?" You ask worriedly as you cupped his cheeks into your palms. Diluc grasps your hands in his and didn't utter a word as he stares at you. "Can I kiss you?" You were surprised to hear that from him but you nod your head as a 'go ahead'. He didn't waste any time and captured your lips with his.

Zhongli

You were strolling around Liyue when you came across your boyfriend sitting at one of the tables at Third-Knockout listening to the stories of the storyteller. "Zhongli~" You stretch his name as you made your way to him. "Ah, (Y/n). Fancy seeing you here." Zhongli smiles. "I just gotten a break so i decided to stroll around but I didn't think I'll see you here." You said. "Director Hu has gone off to do some promotional offers again. She told me to have a little break until she's back." Zhongli explained. You hummed in understanding. "Ah, I've been here too long. I should go back now." You told your boyfriend not before an idea pop into your head. You turn to your boyfriend with a cheeky grin, "Zhongli~" The man turn his face towards you and you planted a quick kiss before dashing off to your work place. "Oh dear..." Zhongli said with a tint of red across his cheeks.

Albedo

The both of you were seated in the snow of Dragonspine. Albedo had came out with a sketchpad in hand, wanting a break from his experiments. You were there to visit him to make sure he was taking care of his health. Albedo was sketching away a scenery that had captivated him whilst you were laying on his shoulder admiring the process. However his hands soon stop sketching and he calls your name instead. "(Y/n)." you hummed a response tilting your head to look up only to see his face so close to yours. His hands wraped around your waist pulling you closer for your lips to meet.

Itto

It was during one of those rare days where he won a beetle fighting contests with one of the kids. He was so happy, he sprung up in joy and ran towards you. "I won! I finally won!" He yells as he spins you around. "Congrats on winning, babe." You smile warmly at his enthusiastic behavior. He planted a kiss on your lips before settling you down on the ground. He soon ran over to the kids who lost to him to brag about his victory leaving you stunned with a hand clasp over your blushing face.

it might be hard to pick, but what's your favourite greek myth parallel/reference/allusion in regards to five? (i hope i phrased that right lmao)

for me it's still odysseus because you know. metis and long journeys and inability to adjust to peace after a lifetime of war and being held captive by a woman and having "no name" to hold him back and being extremely arrogant and hypocritical yadda yadda yadda. (i like the sisyphus references too, but i dont really consider five to be an ~absurd hero~, especially after s3. he clings to meaning in the apocalypse but in the face of his existence turning out to be absurd he does give up, kind of).

Hey Anon, first of all, congrats on sending in probably my favourite ask I've ever received. I was genuinely so excited to answer this that I kept it for when I would be in the mood and able to savour it, and before I knew it, a month has passed, so sorry about that, I hope you'll see this. But now I've just come off making a mythology-centred Five-gifset and my mind is buzzing, so there will never be a better time.

I once did an entire, very self-indulgent gifset about figures in Greek mythology that Five reminds me off, because to me, he thematically fits into that kind of storytelling. Very powerful, very skilled, fatally flawed, fucks around and finds out, all that jazz. The fact the writers have made a dozen mannequin jokes and yet haven't tossed in a Pygmalion reference yet is baffling to me. But I think Sisyphus and Odysseus are the only direct comparisons made in the text, and I do love them both. Me elaborating on why both of them are really neat connections under the cut.

I agree with you, I like the Odysseus one better, mostly because it's a really satisfying comparison. Yes to everything you said, the combination of wisdom and cunning, the long journey motivated by finding his way back to his family, his inability to find peace once he'd gotten them back because his time away - both the erring and the fighting - changed him, the women that keeps him, the absence of a name, the arrogance, the hypocrisy. I'd like to add the reluctance to fight paired with a high level of fighting skill, the tendency to try and talk things out first, the ability to read people well, the way people around him tend to die, the fact that his fatal flaw is pride/hubris, a character paying for his transgressions.

It's a very interesting character to compare Five to, because Odysseus is definitely one of the most nuanced and most versatile characters from Greek mythology, and I like how much the two have in common. But what I find even better is that there are a few key differences that make Five more than just a superhero take on Odysseus. There's the obvious fact that Five got reverted back into a child, and that he started his journey a lot younger, so what he longs to find his way back to is a different version of family from Odysseus. Odysseus also has a certain amount of obedience to authority, he knows how things ought to go and primarily tries to operate within boundaries set, while Five is pretty much ungovernable, he is constant to question and defy authority. Five also has time-travelling powers and technically the ability to undo everything that has gone wrong, but he just doesn't manage, he keeps overestimating himself and making things worse, which adds to his pathos. They are quite similar, but there is just enough of a spin to Five where the comparison is very much warranted but not tired. It tickles that particular part of me that loved Odysseus at age 10 when I first learnt about Greek mythology.

As for Sisyphus...I'm kind of splitting this in two, one part about the Sisyphus from the original myths and one about him as an absurd hero because Camus be Camus-ing.

Sisyphus is so known for his eternal punishment, because it is truly a wonderful image for a neverending, meaningless task, that it tends to be forgotten what he did to deserve this fate. Sisyphus was sentenced because he cheated death, not once, but twice, by finding new ways to escape it. So when Five says, "I've cheated time so much, I guess I thought I'd somehow cheat death", that hits, first of all because the writers literally forgot that Five had already cheated death by rewinding time and saving his siblings and himself from their certain demise, and secondly because that realisation of one's own mortality is part of the Sisyphus myth, in my opinion. Fun fact, in some, non-Homeric versions, Sisyphus is said to be the father of Odysseus, so being a cunning dickhead who pisses off gods is apparently a heritable trait. This tidbit about cheating death, paired with the endlessly repeating punishment, which the show alludes to via world's biggest ball of twine (Five replying "seems pretty big to me" when Klaus says that he thought it would be a lot bigger is a moment that I hold very dear) is just a good bit to compare with Five. He technically cheated death by turned time forward and bypassing the death of the entire human race, he cheated death again by turning time backwards, and he keeps living despite everything. At the same time, he chases his obligations, trying to keep the world alive, and surviving, in a seemingly endless repeating cycle. I really like the allusion to Sisyphus too, because it too is very warranted but it's not just a direct adaptation with superhero veneer.

As for Sisyphus as an absurd hero...it's been a while since I've read Camus, but the fact that Five, right after comparing his obligations to his family to a ball he keeps watching roll down a hill, asks, "and what's the point?" does suggest that the writers did mean the more meaningless side of the Sisyphus myth, likely tinged by Camus and his eternal obsession with the absurd. As far as I remember, his take on the myth is that realising and acknowledging the meaninglessness trumps the absurd and allows to reach a state of accepting serenity. I think whether Five, specifically in s3, falls into the role of an absurd hero really depends on interpretation. He doesn't in s1 and s2, because his meaningless, ever-continuing task (working to save the world from an impending apocalypse) is pursued with no acknowledgement of the underlying absurdity of trying to save the entire world that keeps changing and slipping away. In s3, there's a shift. Five gives up. Kind of. Sort of. Not really. I don't know. To be an absurd hero, he would have to acknowledge the situation and still continue his task, content with what he is doing because he is aware of its meaninglessness. A key quote from Camus that I am absolutely nicking from Wikipedia because I am not re-reading that and do in-depth literary anaylsis for a throw-away line from a silly Netflix show, is that "there is no fate that cannot be surmounted by scorn". Five talks about fate in s3. He says that fate doesn't care for whether he is ready to face whatever it has in store for him, and then again, he tells Reginald that it's time they accept their fate and let the world end. And Five gives up. He stops pursuing the task...for a time. Because he was ready to let the world go and see what, if anything, is on the other side. Until the finale, where he is back in survival mode. He's the one to find the sigil, his decision is what ends the last guardian and culminates in Reginald (and Allison) resetting the world. So, does the act of giving up keep him from being an absurd hero? Or was that uptick, working towards saving it despite everything he knew, despite knowing it can't work out well, the action of an absurd hero? I don't know. Not quite, I think, because I don't think Five has ever reached that moment of contentment at the realisation of the meaninglessness of everything he's chased for his entire life. But it is fun to think about. I'm a bigger fan of using the original myth rather than Camus' interpretation of it, because that one was very much written with the meaninglessness of labour under capitalism in mind, which is not quite something that the Umbrella Academy is dealing with, Five even less, and I like the detail about cheating death being the thing that condemns Sisyphus to his endless, meaningless, repetitive task, and Camus doesn't delve into how Sisyphus came to be stuck on that hill.

Two Years Later...

"C'mon, you must eat, my darling." I try again to entice Callie to eat her dinner. My daughter turns her head away in disgust, pushing my arm away.

I put the spoon back down on the plate, "You know, you're quite picky, Callie Eden. Quite picky for such a big girl. You'd think a big girl like you would eat all of her dinner without a fuss. Maybe you're not a big girl after all?"

My teasing catches her attention, her brow furrowing in toddler rage, "I am a big girl!"

"I dunno... Big girls never push away their dinner." I give her a look. For a moment, I swear I'm looking into Egon's eyes as she stares silently with fury in her eyes. They are so similar in the strangest of ways. It startles me occasionally, which usually follows with intense sorrow. Even as I've gotten better the past two years, thanks to the guys' constant help and support, I'm only human.

Callie takes the plastic spoon from the plate, eating it without another word.

I smile, running my thumb against her cheek, "Always proving me wrong." How she would be three tomorrow, I don't know. Time flew so fast. I could swear we-- I was bringing her home as a newborn. 

Callie smiles, looking very pleased with herself.

"How's the rugrat?" Peter asks as I open the front door.

"A handful per usual," I tease back as the three of them walk through the door carrying colorfully wrapped gifts. "You didn't have to get her anything--"

Ray side-hugs me, "Not get Callie gifts on her birthday? You know us better than that."

I smile as Callie comes running into the room, shouting as she sees her three favorite uncles. 

"Cals!" Ray picks her up first. She sees the three of them on a pretty regular basis, but Ray is the one she has grown up seeing the most. In many ways, he's stepped and somewhat replaced Egon as Callie's surrogate father. It's nice to see her happy and talkative with him, but I secretly wish Egon was the one holding her, talking to her about how exciting it was that she was three now.

"You okay?" Winston seems to have noticed my zoning out, his hand on my shoulder in a comforting manner.

I nod, "Yeah. It's just hard sometimes, without him. The usual."

He looks at me with sympathy. None of the guys really understood why Egon up and left everything behind. They were angry with him, the angriest being Ray. 

None of us talked about it much, but I'm glad they all stuck around when Egon left. They had no obligation to be in Callie's life, but here they were at a three-year-old's birthday party.

"Is Dana coming with Oscar?" I turn towards Peter, hoping to get my mind off of the sad things in life.

Peter checks his watch, "She should be here soon. Oscar slept terribly last night. You know how it is."

I nod. I knew all too well what Peter meant. 

A week later...

"Thank you," I smile at the teenager who hands me my photos. I look through the photos from Callie's party as I walk back towards my apartment. Every photo turned out wonderful! Callie with her little friends, opening brightly colored gifts, Callie with her surrogate uncles.

But, the best photo is of Callie in front of her birthday cake. Her smile is so big, purple frosting smeared across her face and fingers. 

This is the photo.

I open the front door, setting down my purse on the kitchen table before gathering up an envelope and a pen. Quickly, I scribble down Callie, Age 3, Third birthday party.

I memorized the address immediately after Janine slipped it to me a few months after Egon left. Who knows if it's even his, it's not as if he ever sends me something back. I still have hope he gets the pictures.

Even though I still am angry with him, I want him to see her grow. He should know she's okay even if he's all the way in Summerville, and we're still here in New York.

A week later in Summerville...

The mail comes. I'm not expecting a letter; I wouldn't blame her if she decided three years of photos with no reply wasn't worth it any longer. 

The afternoon of Callie's third birthday was spent in the lab. I couldn't pull myself away from the slowly growing collection of photographs on the corkboard, leaving my work untouched. 

She's three. Where has the time gone? 

The week after Christmas, I received my last photograph. That picture stays with me at all times, tucked into my wallet. Callie beneath a tree, lights sparkling behind her.

(y/n)'s familiar penmanship catches my eyes immediately as I shuffle through the bills and junk mail. Throwing the rest of the bills and other letters on the counter, I rip into the letter to find a picture of Callie.

The tears spring to my eyes before I can stop them. Grief... or maybe its guilt, overcome me once again, and I'm left wondering if I'm doing the right thing. I could've prevented all of our sorrow. Could've been happy in New York with the woman I love and our child. I should be with them on holidays and birthdays... 

Tracing my finger against the picture, I turn it around to see what (y/n)'s written.

I've been told that I'm rather charismatic (although I can't see that myself (￣▽￣)) and friendly. Dislikes… huh… I don't really dislike anything until it becomes a problem. There was this one time my classmate was arguing with me (even though we had the same point) because he zoned out during my presentation. To this day, I still want to slap him for it.

Fun facts? I have hypermobility, insomnia, and can almost never make a suitable expression (like say, my friend has gotten +12 in uno and my face contradicts my words of sympathy). My face is almost *always* in a soft smile!!

Childe is always putting in effort and is eager to fight and improve himself. So I’m sure he’ll be able to respect you because you display the same zest for the things that you’re interested in! I can see him making himself involved in what you do. And at the end of it, he’s probably going to ask you to do something like an “exchange” even though there was no agreement made between the two of you. Though he will never force you if you’re really not up to it!

If you’re free and he misses you, he’ll walk up to you and hook his arm around yours. In a cheerful tone, he’ll say, “Hey, let’s go out.” (with a wink as a cherry on top, if you’d like). Even if you’re with your friends, he’ll probably do that. But not too excessively because after all, you would love to spend time with your friends too.

Oh? You play the piano huh. This man will try to get a seat beside you and wrap his arms around you from your side, leaning his head on your shoulders. You tell him your arms are gonna move and all but he says that’s okay, staying that way for a while. He's going to cling onto you until you tell him you can't focus. He'll get his hands off you, but he'll say that he wants to sit by your side to listen to you play.

If he does play a musical instrument, I think he'd be someone who plays the violin, so he’d find pieces to do with you.

He definitely plays games. He’ll ask you to spar, in the game. He probably has Street Fighter or something at home. He’ll ask you to come over and play VS mode with him.

If you can’t sleep, I can see him playing games with you. Not just any game but more of those calm games that allow for coop mode. Maybe something like Genshin but you guys just run around the world or do menial things until you fall asleep.

Charismatic people interest Childe, so I can see him approaching you first. But he starts finding out that you’re really shy and he’ll find it super cute. Cue him finding all sorts of ways to tease you to make you blush more.

I can see him being super talkative with you, so you don’t ever have to be worried about having a conversation with him. Even if you don’t, I think you would appreciate the short amount of comforting silence that you have with him.

The first time he sees you being chaotic, he’ll have a split second of surprise and proceed to laugh maniacally as he did in the Liyue archon quest.

Not gonna lie, I can see him being problematic such that there’ll be things that you’ll dislike about him. But he’ll be willing to compromise with you when it comes down to it.

When he finds out about your hypermobility, I can see him asking you to do all sorts of things for him. He’ll probably ask you to bend your arms and/or legs and he’ll be so awed. I bet he’ll even try it himself but please stop this fool (affectionate) so he doesn’t injure himself.

I think he’d poke your cheeks a lot in a response to your unsuitable expression. You’d furrow your eyebrows and he’d laugh, “Yeah, that’s what you’re actually feeling.”

I know you didn’t ask for this, but as thank you for being accommodating to me, here’s a little something extra I wanted to give you.

Platonically, I believe that you’d make amazing friends with Yunjin.

You come off as a very artistic person to me (in the sense that you create content) and I feel like you and Yunjin would hit it off because of this.

I can see you two helping each other out and even having collabs, nicely fusing what you do together with her opera craft.

Who knows, she’ll also ask you more about the lore of games that you play and she’ll make a whole story to perform out of what you give her. I feel like she’d even give you plausible theories even if she doesn’t play the game.

second: i go into other writers ask blogs to congrats them on milestones and/or send them love because we’re friends/mutuals AND i usually sign them off with “briswriting” because this is a sideblog and although i have my main in my bio and this blog in the bio for my main, some people still don’t know its me so i like to adress it so they know the love is coming from me and not another person 

third: i’m just vibin trying to do my 3k event so i just looked at my dash and saw all the drama going on but the way you accused me of name dropping myself for the attention. sweetie i don’t need the attention i would be happy if i had one follower but go off lmfao why would i need to disguise myself as a hate anon to namedrop myself to gain more attention i don’t think that would give me any exposure.
