Allamanda or bush allamanda (Allamanda schottii) is native to parts of Brazil. This one has been in the garden since at least 1995 and needs almost no care. I usually cut it back quite hard but have let it grow a bit this year. It’s still flowering into autumn and is looking very lush. Sweet Allamanda

This was taken with a 2007 four thirds sensor camera. With the exposure biased 1/3 stop darker against the light, the flowers had still come out rather bright. The exposure metering of our copy of the camera had been a bit off for a while now.
