The haunting by Alex bell - book review

Rating: 3/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️

My thoughts: I read this book because I really loved reading frozen Charlotte (another book by Alex Bell) which I rated 5 stars but this book wasn’t scary at all! I expected it to be quite chilling like frozen Charlotte had been but it disappointed me. I liked the characters and the idea of the water witch haunting the inn but I thought it wasn’t executed as well as it could have been.

it's been so long since i came on this blog to see a multichaptered thg fic posted on here (with the cute headers) that i astral projected to 2017.

the multi-media aspect is so cool, i'm having a little bcw the book moment reading it AND MY GOD!!! it's never an em fic if clato/alexbelle don't have a long tired history of being at each others throats only to eventually get intertwined once more (fave example of this is gracie's 2019 birthday fic but this reveal has me ITCHINGGG for a new chapter for further explanations)

band aus are always everyone's bread and butter but not all of them have an entire chapter dedicated to gale slander so this is immediately a cult classic. not to mention the little note about djats at the top of the chapter has me thinking that katniss being a karen type is the most accurate vibe check ever since the golf cart joke (which has become it's own cinematic universe at this point) accurately diagnosed marvel with dumbass.

this is turning into it's own short fiction at this point so tldr: WE ARE SOOOO FUCKING BAAACCCCCKKKK!!!!! can't wait for more!!
