I wish more people cared about actual Alexander's motive to return to his homeworld, it actually would be so cool if others made content about him and his beloved also like, hear me out Alexander angst based on his desperation to come back to someone who he loves. But hell nah we can't have that because it all got watered down by Alexaniel shippers, and honestly in my personal opinion Alexander is mischaracterized by this fandom so much especially by Alexaniel shippers and I hate that, despise even.

How would you change code Veronica for the remake?

Okay basically I want them to choose either one of two angles with the Ashfords: Either they are firmly condemned bad people, or they are firmly sympathetic. The og and the Darkside Chronicles remake skirt the line a LOT and don’t really make up their minds, and while blah blah morally gray characters, how og CV did it kinda sucked.

So for the firmly condemned bad people angle: They’re terrible, corrupted monarchs, they’re nazis, while Alexia and Alfred’s desire to be reunited is still there, Alexia is an entirely selfish person and betrays her brother, the one who saved her, to try and destroy Wesker and the Redfields. I’m not pulling the nazi shit out of nothing btw, Claire and Steve were literally held in a concentration camp on Rockfort Island. I’ve also seen some people talk about a remake drawing parallels to the Ashfords trying to reunite and the Redfields trying to reunite, and I really like that, it could go for both versions, evil Ashfords and sympathetic Ashfords, and for the latter it could be similar to the Dimitrescu family in 8. Ethan was fighting to protect and save his daughter, who he raised and loved, while Lady D cares about her daughters in a manipulative and possessive way (which no one understood because they wanted to fuck her but w/e) I think it could work with the Ashfords and Redfields

For the sympathetic angle, draw attention to the fact that the twins were Alexander’s vanity project, the stress Alfred was put under at 12 years old when he became the head of the family, no father or sister to support this child, just “business partners,” the stress Alexia was under to live up to the standards set by Veronica. Make us feel a little glad Alexia and Alfred take revenge on their father, make us think “hell yeah, he deserved it.” Make Alexia look like a child when she comes out of cryosleep (she was 12 when she went in) make Claire realize how much resemblance Alexia has to Sherry, make T-Veronica seem like something freeing to Alexia, so her infecting Steve feels motivated (she’s trying to share her gift with other young, lost and lonely people like her) make her devastated when her first sight coming out of decades of cryosleep is her brother’s dead body, who did everything he could to bring her back.

Aside from the two angles are stuff that literally everyone agrees with and doesn’t rlly need to be repeated but I’ll rapid fire it anyway

No transphobic stuff

No Steve staring at Claire’s ass or trying to kiss her while she sleeps

Regardless of the angle taken, no incest jokes or implied incest with the Ashford twins, it just feels unnecessary. Alexander can still lust after his dead ancestor I don’t give a shit he sucks either way
