Adolphas eyes widened as she watched Elizabeth move the water. She had been caught of guard as she had been putting her pack on. She moved her hand through the floating water for a moment before retracting quickly when she heard her Geiger counter tick faintly.

“Is that? Are you mutated? Did radiation do this?” She asked softly wishing she knew more about human biology. Adolpha could give the skinny on ancient history and could explain most of the Technological advancements before the bombs dropped but she never cared for biology and by extension medical science.

“You’re like a real life superhero. This is something you’d see in Astoundingly Awesome Tales. How?” Before she was completely stunned into silence she opened the desk and threw a pen on top of it. She didn’t think this could get any weirder that it already was but the involvement of a pen made her feel less sure. This had to take the cake on strange soulmate meetings

“I don’t know how to explain it well, but I’m never unarmed, even when you might think so. Do you have any liquids around? I can demonstrate some parts better than explain.”

Elizabeth started searching around for a water bottle, speaking again as she did so.

“I mean I understand wanting to know just what the hell is going on, but does the soulmate part mean you don’t trust me innately? Everyone’s different in their own ways and in what they believe. I just gotta know where I stand with you. If this is going to work, we have to communicate well together.”

“Its a mix bag really. I trust you not to kill me. I don’t believe youre from the past. I dont think youll steal from me. I don’t think you’re capable of watching my back considering how you walked in here. I don’t know enough to draw other conclusions yet.” Adolpha said leaning over to grab a bottle of water from her pack that was leaned against the desk. It was labeled dirty with sharpie. 

“Its irradiated water so dont drink it unless you’re dying of thirst. Im Adolpha by the way. Or whatever you call me if my actual name doesnt roll off your tongue well ” She said putting the bottle on the desk. A small grey cat peeked out of the bag after having his nap disturbed. She closed her pack after gently nudging him back inside.
