Hi! As you might have noticed, I liked to fight with the stigma connected with addiction so I decided to make a zine about it. Project is non-profit, zine will be available online and I will distribute a few physical copies in Poland. If you want to join, publish your article/thoughts/drawings/collage/songs that remind you about this topic, DM me.
Main thought of the zine is:
to give voice to addicted people, so we can finally speak for ourselves
fight with the stigma
show that addicted people deserve as much respects as others, no matter whether they fight their addiction or not
show different perspective on the topic of drugs

I’m a 25 year old manic depressive writer living in poverty & I have two books out if you wanna support me
Acid In Georgia (which is available for purchase here through Bottlecap Press) is a chapbook containing five stories about addiction and madness
Shrine (which you can purchase here through Junkie Scholar Press) is my first novella that I wrote the last semester of my undergrad, Shrine follows a protagonist over seven months as she works as a stripper and wrangles with addiction
I’m working on a website for my work but it would mean so much for you to read my books :)

Fair Thoughts
Just got back from the fair with my friends, so I wanted to share some LU thoughts on if THEY went to a fair!
Roles:
Legend - The Prepared One: Dramamine, sunscreen, water, painkillers, anti-acids and a map are all to be found with this guy. He's the one with his phone timer set to remind everyone to reapply sunscreen and hydrate, and not only does he know his way around, he always knows where to get the best deals on food, what stalls will be quietest at what times and where they are, and generally is your go-to guide. He's not much for most of the rides, but he's got extra pockets for all the stuff that will fall out of yours. He enjoys carnival games and is uncannily good at them (maybe too good). He comes across as the chill sort most of the time, but if you do get him on some of the crazier rides, he screams bloody murder.
Time - The Dad: He is wearing the most obnoxiously loud shirt he could find, if only to make sure the rest can always find him. Despite the loud shirt, his sunglasses say FBI and his face says "don't touch me". He's the crowd clearer to help the kids get where they want, using his broad shoulders to his advantage and his scary dad privileges to make others stay out of his way. He's not much for most of the rides, but likes to dare some of the more cagey/up-tight boys to try new things. He likes the carnival games as well, and he and Legend bet each other who can do better. The few rides he does go on, he somehow maintains a straight face (he is absolutely Freaking Out behind his shades though).
Twilight - Former 4-H Kid: Twilight is the one that drags everyone else into the various exhibits and animal barns to look at the things people have made and entered in competitions. He's sure to ensure everyone in his party knows proper barn etiquette and tends to strike up conversations with the farming folk there about any old thing. The animals love him, the stall keepers enjoy his company, and he's generally a delight to have around. He also tends to drag everyone to the local 4-H building to see anything his little siblings might have made, or just enjoy whatever is there. He likes the shooter games at the fair, but shoots like a man who knows what he's doing and so loses more than he wins (them things are rigged). He does get pretty excited if he does win things though. He enjoys the rides alright, but only if someone comes with him, since he says they're boring to ride alone. He will hold your hand if you're scared, and he tends to howl a bit when he get's really pumped up on the rides.
Sky - The Adrenaline Junky: Sky is the one who drags them to most of the rides in the carnival section. He's perfectly happy to let Twilight take them to the barns first, and totally enjoys the animals and seeing the home-made crafts and the like, but he's really here to ride each and every one of the craziest rides he can. The others are a bit intimidated by his daring (no one should be that eager to get thrown around upside down) but try as he might to explain the rides in a way that makes them sound manageable, he just makes them sound like a torture experience. He sucks at most of the skill games, but is competitive enough to still try. He's a good group member though, and tends to let the others take the lead and call for breaks when they need them, and checks in frequently if they haven't in a while. He pushes them to try new things, but respects hard no's when he gets them, and if an experience is too much for someone, is always there to help them find their feet again afterwards.
Hyrule - The One Who Keeps Getting Lost: It's not intentional, but this guy has to have his phone on full blast just so he knows it when someone texts him, because he is constantly getting separated from the rest of the group. He only needs to stop for a second to look at something and then they're gone, and he's not great at speaking up loudly if he needs to slip away for the bathroom or a drink. They try and keep him at the center of the group, but nothing works. Luckily, when they come to the merchant's stalls and whatnot, he and Legend have similar taste, so they tend to stick close and admire things together (or haggle, legend's the better haggler but Hyrule has stupid good luck). He's not much for skill games, but games of chance or anything that requires guessing usually works out well in his favor. He's not super big on most of the rides, but he enjoys some of the tamer ones, and is working his way up to some of Sky's sort of rides.
Four - The Craftsman: Like Twilight, Four enjoys going to see displays of skill or wandering around the mercantile. He's not typically able to ride most of the rides (he hates it) but talking with fellow craftsmen helps make up for it. He's got an uncanny skill for finding dropped tickets (or maybe stealing them?) and always has some to spare, which he'll use to bargain for favors from his brothers. When he can get on rides, he typically prefers the sorts that make your stomach churn, but isn't fond of spinning ones. he likes being up high (not because he's short! just because!) and honestly, genuinely enjoys the Ferris Wheel.
Wild - Mom Friend: He smuggled lunch in inside of his backpack (which is secretly a cooler) and he has sports drinks and wrapped sandwiches for everyone. Because of medical reasons, he's not really able to go on most of the rides, but he has his camera out nearly the whole time taking pictures and videos of the rest of the group. They will all be receiving prints; no they don't have to ask. He likes the skill games, and while he's not good at them, he does tend to eventually win most of them after a couple rounds. He's a great shot when it comes to throwing things at moving targets, for some reason. He also is forever running into people he knows and striking up conversations, but is pretty good about moving on when his group wants him to.
Warriors - Fashion Model: You know when you go to a local event and most people are dressed for comfort, but then there are those small groups where it's clear they took it to the nines? Where I live it's mostly the Alt Kids (Goth/Punk/Rocker/Scene), but in Hyrule, who knows! Warriors though is the one person on the team who is always picture ready and rediculously put together for a man wandering around under the sun all day surrounded by sweat, grease and sticky children. He doesn't let his looks stop him having fun though, and participates in whatever his brothers would like. He's more here for the social interaction than the games or the exhibitions or the rides, and he's taking plenty of photos the whole time, even though he knows Wild is as well. He's happy to let Sky drag him on the craziest of rides, has the time of his life in the horse barn, especially when they find the Clydesdales (he's a horse girl, fight me!), and he's probably blowing more of his paycheck in making bets with Legend than he's losing to the various games he ends up playing. Man's just here to have fun though, and he is :)
Wind - A Kid: Yeah, I know, it goes without saying, but let's be real! Wind is having the ultimate fair experience with the rest, especially as the youngest in their group! He doesn't actually have to pay for anything, but gets to enjoy all the rides, games and chaos he could want. He teases his older brothers into joining him in new things, taking dares, or generally looking stupid. He's pretty good at staying with the group, and listening to legend's directions or Time's instructions, but he still isn't afraid to speak up if he sees something along the way that he'd like them to do. He's pretty bored when it comes to the booths and stalls of things to buy, but willing to go along with interactive exhibits (which Twilight loves pulling him towards). He does help keep an eye on Hyrule, and he'll absolutely let Sky take him on anything he's allowed to ride (and some he's not)
There we are! That's all of them! I think I had some other thoughts in the car, but I'm too tuckered now to actually remember what they were LOL

spn fic rec fest - 8
AUGUST 28 - episode codas
as before, i've tagged authors that have their tumblr public on their ao3. if you'd like me to remove the @, just lmk. @spnficrecfest for more info on the event.
034 - adrenaline by ani_coolgirl (@ani-coolgirl) 2x12 Nightshifter, Sam/Dean, 2k, E
Sam & Dean crash at a motel after the bank heist in Milwaukee, but they’re way too wired to sleep. i really had to restrain myself from putting every coda in the Every First Time series into this list :') the way ani writes the boys is perfect for episode codas/missing scenes because she just absolutely NAILS their characterization and tone of voice. i love how chaotic and desperate this fic is, it’s really like sam and dean are like two black holes collapsing into each other. very electric & sublime.
Hail, The Son by HandsAcrossTheSea 4x1 Lazarus Rising, Sam/Dean, 2k, E
When Dean comes back from hell, Sam’s buff & broody. With a little push from Dean, they rediscover the sexual relationship they had before. ok so this ones mostly on the list for being scorchingly hot and having one of my fav hell!headcanons, that sam&dean came back from hell with foreskin. dunno why but it has cemented in my brain and refuses to leave. its also so cozy seeing them find comfort in each other during really tough arcs like post-hell seasons, and this fic really exemplifies that <3
True Face by WetSammyWinchester (@wetsammywinchester) 12x11 Regarding Dean, Sam/Dean, 5k, E
Rowena can't undo Dean's amnesia curse. Sam deals with the aftermath. this fic is the perfect mix of angst with absolutely adorable wincest. its basically 5k of dean crushing hard on sam & being able to show it without inhibitions while sam has a mini freakout every time dean forgets who he is and finds their terrifying hunting gear lol <3 great fic
acid by goshen/applecrumbledore (@goshen-applecrumbledore) 11x17 Red Meat, Sam/Dean, 15k, E
Dean's romeo-juliet suicide attempt in red meat spurs Sam into starting a conversation about their codependency that Dean really does not want to have. ok so-- not TECHNICALLY a coda, because it veers away from red meat pretty quick, but i haven't recced one of goshen's fics in this fest yet and that's just plain wrong. the dahmer conversation in this is crazy and totally something sam serial-killer-junkie winchester would ramble about. i also loved the scene later on about sam pointing out how much they know about each other and how they’re basically synced up 24/7. i luv my codependent boys :3
Sometimes I Think It's A Sin by TatteredBurningWings/angelshotgun 4x22 Lucifer Rising, Sam/Dean, 3k, E
After accidentally freeing Lucifer, Sam is certain that Dean will want to kill him. He hopes that sex will put Dean in a better mood, at least. a voicemail fix it!!! this is my brand of angst, i cant explain it but i loveeeeee when characters feel that overwhelming sense of guilt & humiliation and push themself into doing whatever they can to appease the other person. this fic hits that little guilty-pleasure spot in my brain. plus its hurt with comfort and the ending is soft and a great ending to the scene ❤️

i am struggling with explaining my immense love for marauders era barty to my bestie, who mostly lives in the jamespetersiriusremus hole of the fandom. i can't find a proper way to describe him?? and he is not a fic reader, so i can't even give him your fics to explain (bc they explain EVERYTHING) so can you PLEASE help me make a short elevator pitch for our barty boy. like how do you describe him?? i've told him to not think about the david tenant goblet of fire barty, but instead think of the slytherin boy dramaqueen sassy superloyal acid green hair punkish raccoon barty, but he just doesn't GET ITTTTT
“I’m literally just a girl” - Barty Crouch Jr
Hope this helps!!!
[borderline personality disorder, daddy issue, chaos junkie, over achieving, insanely (almost criminally) intelligent, fiercely dedicated friend who only knows how to give/receive love via sex at first]

It's sooo interesting how much focus the show puts on hanks ptsd and anxiety, and directly mirrors it with Jesse. Who. Like. On a daily basis, witnesses and lives through, very similar and worse stuff.
Hank, until he himself kills tuco in s2, has a cruel and even joyful attitude towards crime scenes. He laughs about them, shares them with his family. Always as a way to hold up his masculinity. But then he kills tuco, and then has to deal with the ptsd of that. He has panic attacks, thinks he's being attacked in his home when his poorly sealed craft beer bottles explode, and just barely survives the tortuga explosion bc the sight of a dead man's head on a turtle gives him another anxiety attack, which in turn exposes him to even more death and his colleagues losing limbs. He tries to keep up his toxic masculinity facade after that, and clings to it, but we do see his change starting there. I'm not well versed on the later seasons, I just know that the time he is bed bound give him some more time to both let out all his horribleness, and to become better at his job. He shows us a pretty realistic reaction to all the horrible situations he's being thrust into. All while having a pretty stable home life and loving family.
Jesse meanwhile. Jesus that boy needs so many hugs.
He kills a man and dissolves him in acid in the very first episodes. He keeps getting beat up, bad enough that he has to be treated at the hospital. He has an already fractured relationship to his parents, which is why he stays at his aunts place, whom he took care of before her death from cancer. Which is likely why he accepts to work with Walter. To help him. And he keeps being confronted with excessive violence and death, while his situation keeps getting worse, so he finds himself bound to Walter. He has literally no security net. All his friendships are conditional, and based on drugs. It's a vicious circle. No one to process his feelings with, so he turns to the drugs. To forget, to numb. Etc. Everywhere he turns there is more rejection, conditional relationships, and so much violence.
And just. That one moment in s2. After hank thinks he's being attacked in his own home, and nearly shoots marie, directly followed by Walter arriving at Jesse's home with the gun, to 'take care' of the junkies who stole from them... which is again followed by way more and more horrible violence. With the kid Jesse keeps trying to protect and parent while he's there... it just hit a very very soft spot in me. Someone please take care of Jesse. Someone cook him a meal and tug him into bed. Give him 6000h of therapy and a stable home. Give him 2,5 friends (or more) who just like him and want to hang out with him.
