Staycation: Crowne Plaza Alice Springs Lasseters (IHG)
Who says you have to travel far to have a great vacation? Kaydes and I just had one of the best staycations over New Year’s at Crowne Plaza Alice Springs Lasseters! It was a bit last minute—I booked it the day before, thanks to a targeted ad that popped up! 😂 It gave me a great spur of excitement thinking of a staycation over New Year’s, especially since we weren’t going anywhere else for the…

Sinday - Oliver and Elio (Closed starter)
Oliver had been in his new adapted accommodation in the grounds of the villa for only a few blissful nights. Finally being out of the hospital, to eat what pleased him and indulge in a few glasses of wine or spirits at night made him feel like he was living again. The sun was going down, birds sung to him from the nearby trees, cool spring breeze flowed in from the open doors and windows as Oliver sat on his bed with a book in his hand. He knew Elio was coming over, they had agreed on the plan earlier that day. Oliver's parents had cut their sympathy trip short and Alice was out for the night with friends she had made in the town. Finally Oliver would have a chance to be alone with Elio. "Hello you" Oliver spoke before looking up from his book, finishing a line before saving the place with an old train ticket and placing the book down on the side. "I was wondering if you were going to show" Oliver teased as he took in the sight of Elio before him. @wehavefoundthestars

{☾} "...and what exactly brings you to my manor, Rhysand?" Her tone is light, even--she doesn't show her anxiety as they walk side by side in her gardens. She is nervous, but she doesn't show it. There is no open HOSTILITY, though the Mother knew Tamlin had told her enough to treat him as an enemy on sight.
Alicent's hands are clasped before her, warm brown eyes watching the fountains splash to life, filling the gardens with the gentle sounds of babbling water. The spring sun feels good on her skin, a gentle breeze tickling the edge of her elongated ears. She arches a brow, tilting her head at the guest to her home.
"As you well know, I am only Tamlin's heir. I have no power, no sway over my cousin's will," she hums softly. There is only a touch of bitterness in her words. Though she adored her cousin, he was so pigheaded. So STUBBORN. Even if she had fantastic ideas...he would nod, acknowledge them. But never once had he taken her seriously.
The long folds of her teal gown kiss the ground, brushing over scattered petals and stones.
"I am, of course, happy to accommodate you for your travel, but I must ask why you came all the way to the Spring Court and came to me, of all people?"

It's spring break and since we were just in Mexico we didn't really plan anything but we are FOOLS bc Alice is suddenly the most social person on earth and has a playdate every day this week. I am stressed! Trying to get her from place to place and accommodate the plans she made herself and figure out what the f we're going to do with Joe while Alice is off gallivanting! and I feel bad bc we are definitely leaning on the moms who don't work or work from home but what are you gonna do!!
I think I have it all sorted at this point but it is a lot to manage! Next year I will do better about lining up camp acitivties-- our next door neighbor and I tried to do one for wednesday and it was cancelled for low enrollment! we could have prevented that if we hadn't waited until 2 days before the class!
Anyway spring break fucking sucks! I think next year we'll just do our spring trip over actual spring break and save ourselves a lot of this agita.

hi i’m back again lol!!! so my situation this time is that i’m starting a new sports class. it’s like a combination of yoga and pilates and i’m super nervous as in more fitness situations i’m kinda shy and self conscious. i’m going with someone i know so it’s not like i’m gonna be on my own or anything but i’m still stressed about it and i think i’d be less stressed if i didn’t have to worry about what to wear. for this sports class i want to emulate the pink pilates princess vibe but not to the point where i look overdressed and will attract more attention to myself. and i still want to be true and in keeping with my personal style. what should i wear?
Hi! Happy to have you back!
That sounds super fun and exciting! Going with a friend always helps take the pressure off in unfamiliar scenarios, and over time you may make friends who feel just like you! Here are some outfit ideas to accommodate to yoga and pilates whilst remaining lowkey and casual.
WSIW: Yoga / pilates class
For these situations, wanting to appear stylish whilst not being over the top is easy as long as you stick to the mindset of Less is more. For gym / sports related activities I feel you can't go wrong with one stand out piece, and the rest of the outfit being practical / built around it. Try opting for a unitard for a ballet-chic effortless look, and pair it with comfortable sports shoes in the same colour, black or white. For this occasion, leg warmers could be perfect with a matching claw clip, and you can throw on a cute hoodie over the top before and after the class to bring up the casual factor.
Alternatively, if you feel like a more modest look is called for-- yet you want to remain cool and comfortable, try a wrap top with some looser fit yoga style pants or joggers. A way to instantly achieve that put-together look is by making the look monochrome. For a pilates princess chic, baby pink is a no brainer. A warmer toned pale pink will be more ballet-core, reminiscent of ballet slipper colour whilst a cooler toned pink will give you that modern barbie exercise doll look. A matching alice band will tie the look together whilst keeping your hair out of your face.
Invest in a co-ord that supports sweat and working out efficiently. For the spring season, I see these sets coming into fashion and being worn in a more casual downtown girl way and I feel wearing them to a class will make you instantly shine as an it girl who is dedicated to her exercise grind. Pictured below is some inspiration in what to look for.
I hope this helped, good luck!

We’ve reached Spring Tuesday in the Chill Valicer Save, and -- as promised last week -- I have fixed the lighting situation in the house! And made a few other little tweaks and improvements while I was at it, because build mode is my passion. :p First though, please marvel over my very impressive shot of lightning striking the tree behind the greenhouse, because I basically NEVER pause the game in time to get a snap of lightning when it strikes in this game. :D
Okay, so -- first things first, the updates from my little trip into build mode:
1. The major update -- I have replaced ALMOST all electric lights in this house with candle chandeliers and sconces from Vampires! Mostly because those are the brightest and best off-the-grid lights I could find in the catalog. The only places that didn’t get this update were Smiler’s party on the upper level of the barn (as I felt it made more sense for that spot to have electric lights), and the greenhouse (as I couldn’t find any other good lights that would fit). Now, when the power inevitably goes out again, the house itself will stay lit, because candles work off-the-grid! My HOPE is that having fewer electric lights will also allow the household to rebuild its power surplus and thus have power for longer stretches.
2. I replaced Victor’s CC Bioshock Infinite upright piano with the actual upright piano from Growing Together -- while I like the CC one, I really liked the colorful swatches on the new “canonical” one, and wanted to use it. It even has slots on top, making it the perfect place to store that MySim trophy Smiler recently picked up. :) I also hung up a painting Victor did recently on his sketchpad, and put down a new rug -- one of the swatches available on Simularity’s new nursery rug set! Yes, okay, the rug is INTENDED for nurseries, as in the name, but the minute I saw that butterfly swatch, I knew it was perfect for Victor. XD
3. After talking to my friend Squid (@gaydragonwizards) about the new moon mirror from Werewolves, I realized it would be a good addition to the seance room, so I hung it up over the rocking chair. I also got the little moon salt lamp and stuck that in there too, atop the bizarre idol shelf. :)
4. And you can’t really see any of these in any of the pictures, but I added a couch to the back porch, made the greenhouse a little bit bigger to accommodate either more trees (or possibly stairs, if I decide I need a second level at some point) and rearranged the trees/plants on the grounds to accommodate that, and swapped out the games table in Smiler’s party room to one of the new Growing Together ones because it had better swatches.
Whew! Mostly little tweaks, like I said, but it did all take some time (especially the greenhouse thing, given I had to figure out where the tree that was in the corner was going). I also took a moment to turn off the Self Discovery mechanic (I mentioned this before, but unless you want the game to pester you on the regular about making Sims Paranoid, I wouldn’t recommend having it on in a Haunted House) and note down everyone’s conversational likes and dislikes:
-->Victor is a fan of Deep Thoughts, Stories, Affection, and talking about Hobbies
-->Alice is a fan of Deep Thoughts, Stories, and talking about Hobbies
-->Smiler is a fan of Compliments, Stories, being Silly, Pranks, and talking about Hobbies and Interests
*shrug* They all have something to talk about that they all like, at least!
Okay, so, now that building and preferencing is all done, what about gameplay? Well, after a bit of early Victor/Smiler flirting, Smiler took advantage of a brief burst of power to head upstairs and FINALLY upload their latest SimsTube video, while Alice did some painting and Victor went out to clear some creepy hands -- just in time for Temperance to appear! Well, we know what to do about HER, don’t we?
#sims 4#the lazy save#victor van dort#alice liddell#smiler always#renovations#yeah I was like 'you know what I am NOT playing with a dark house'#'where the hell are those candles'#the chandeliers are maybe a LITTLE fancier than I'd want#especially for the barn#but they were the brightest of the lot so#I want to be able to SEE my Sims after all#and yes after chatting with Squid about the witchy vibes of the moon mirror#I was like 'yeah should totally get that for the seance room'#and then I saw the lamp and was like 'that too!'#and sorry CC piano but I do genuinely like the look of the GroT one#I think the colorful swatches really fit the house as well#Alice needs more conversational interests I admit#I'll get it all sorted eventually#just gotta figure out what feels right for these Sims!#queued

Saturday 25th February 2023
We Outbackers wouldn't normally enlist for a Motel, but other accommodation in these rather rural locations is hard to find. At least we haven't pursued the outback theme as far as backpacking in a hostel! As far as motels go, this is extremely comfortable, quiet, modern and thankfully, empty, but also one of many motels in Roma. Modern day Roma is a bustling town at the northern end of the Murray Darling Basin. It is a meeting point for the farming industry with a cattle saleyard, sales and maintenance of heavy farm equipment, supplies and services. It is also very much an oasis for refuelling and stopovers on long journeys across the outback. It was first named in 1867 after the wife of the Governor of Queensland, Lady Diamantina Bowen (née di Roma). In 1863 Samuel Bassett brought the first vines to Roma and formed the Romavilla Winery in 1866. Roma's next claim to fame came in 1900 when due to a drought a bore was drilled to 1350 feet and water and natural gas gushed out. Sadly at the time it was not known how to separate them. By 1906 they had sunk a second well to the gas strata and started a commercial gas supply business. However, things don't always go the way you want as 10 days after the first customer was connected, the gas ran out. Not to be defeated, 2 years later the Roma Mineral Oil Company drilled deeper and hit natural gas which unfortunately blew across in the direction of a wood burning steam boiler. You couldn't make this up could you? Flames were 100ft high and the roar could be heard 7 miles away and it took a fair bit of putting out by all accounts. The next well in 1927 produced oil but they ceased production in 1931. Hmm. Good news eventually, despite the setbacks - these were determined people, and natural gas was finally piped 440km to Brisbane and used until 1969.
Out of 10 things to do in Roma, 5 were not open so we did what we could. Number 1, the Roma Bush Gardens. Very nice and also informative about local trees and shrubs. Number 2, the Walk of Hero's. This was an avenue of bottle trees planted, one for each local soldier killed in WWI. 140 in all and very poignant. Each tree had a commemorative plaque. Number 3, the largest bottle tree in Roma. Vital statistics: girth 9.62m, height 15m, canopy 23m, age 100 years. Very impressive. Number 4, the Big Rig that tells the story of oil and gas, see above. Number 5, various sculptures around town. Disappointments: The museum at the ,'Up the Creek Garage' was shut for upgrades. So was St Paul's shut so couldn't see the stained glass windows. We had missed the film night at the Big Rig and no cattle sales on at the saleyard. With all that excitement we went to Woolworths for some provisions.
With our trackers hats on we set off for the cricket ground a couple of hundred metres down the Warrego Highway in search of the evasive kangaroo. Now we are well aversed of the penchant the species have for golf courses, but we wondered whether evolution had moved them onto a liking for cricket pitches. It would appear this hypothesis was correct because there they were in deep fielding position. About 20 of them. They could see us and were extremely wary of our presence. Sunset seems to come suddenly. 6.20 and it's quite light and by 7pm completely dark. I guess that's the point at which they find something else to do.
Tomorrow we have a fairly short journey to the cattle station we shall be staying at. We shall be a little way from a food supermarket so a trip to Woolworths is essential before starting off plus petrol fill up.
ps TV advert tonight is for 120 bulls for sale. We are picking up Alice Springs TV now.

Guide to Backpacking Across Australia: Tips and Top Routes
Australia, a land of diverse landscapes and vibrant cultures, is a dream destination for backpackers. With its expansive coastlines, rugged outback, bustling cities, and serene national parks, there's something for every adventurer. Here’s your ultimate guide to backpacking Australia, filled with essential tips and top routes to make your journey unforgettable.
Planning Your Backpacking Adventure
1. Visa and Documentation
Before embarking on your backpacking trip, ensure you have the appropriate visa. For most travelers, the Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417 or 462) is ideal, allowing you to stay and work in Australia for up to a year. Make sure your passport is valid for the duration of your stay and have digital copies of all essential documents.
2. Budgeting
Australia can be expensive, so budgeting is crucial. On average, a backpacker might spend around AUD 70-100 per day, including accommodation, food, and activities. Save money by cooking your own meals, using public transport, and taking advantage of free activities like beach outings and hikes.
3. Packing Essentials
Pack light and smart. Essential items include:
Lightweight clothing suitable for various climates
A durable backpack
A good pair of walking shoes
A hat and sunscreen for sun protection
A refillable water bottle
A basic first-aid kit
A power bank and travel adapters
A compact sleeping bag or liner
4. Health and Safety
Australia is generally safe, but it’s important to be prepared. Get travel insurance that covers health, theft, and cancellations. Be aware of local wildlife, especially in remote areas, and follow safety guidelines for activities like swimming, hiking, and bushwalking.
Top Backpacking Routes
1. The East Coast Adventure

Tips for a Successful Backpacking Trip
1. Use Backpacker Apps
Download apps like Hostelworld for accommodation, Rome2rio for transport options, and Meetup for social events and activities. These can help you find affordable places to stay, navigate public transport, and meet fellow travelers.
2. Stay in Hostels
Hostels are budget-friendly and offer a social environment. Many hostels in Australia have communal kitchens, bars, and organized activities, making it easy to meet new friends.
3. Travel Off-Season
To avoid crowds and save money, consider traveling during the shoulder seasons (spring and autumn). The weather is still pleasant, and prices for accommodation and activities are often lower.
4. Work Along the Way
If you’re on a Working Holiday Visa, consider taking up temporary jobs to fund your travels. Common jobs for backpackers include fruit picking, hospitality, and tourism.
5. Respect Nature and Culture
Australia’s natural environment is unique and fragile. Always follow Leave No Trace principles and respect the cultural significance of places, especially those sacred to Aboriginal communities.
Conclusion
Backpacking across Australia is an incredible adventure filled with diverse landscapes, unique wildlife, and vibrant cities. By planning your trip carefully, budgeting wisely, and embracing the local culture and natural beauty, you’ll create unforgettable memories. How NDIS Respite Accommodation Can Improve Health & Well-Being?
Respite care is a crucial service in healthcare offering temporary relief to families and caregivers of people with disability or chronic illnesses. By availing NDIS respite accommodation in Sydney, the caregiver can take a short break from the daily routine of providing for care recipients while exploring the many facets of life.
In this blog, you will explore what this a necessary service and how it promotes well-being for both the NDIS participants & their families alike:
Preventing Emotional & Physical Burnt Outs
Everyone aspires to live a life of choices and fulfilment. But, caring for the terminally ill or people with special needs can be physically exhausting and takes a toll on the mental well-being of the caregivers. With this service, they can take a short break from their duties and come back energised and with a fresher perspective.
Better Quality Care
Like any other people, caregivers face exhaustion from performing routine work day in & day out. When they feel stressed and less rested, the quality of care also decreases. This can pose a challenge for the receiving participants.
Thus, a change in routine thanks to NDIS respite accommodation in Cairns, can offer the families of participants to -
Socialise once again
Follow their dreams & aspirations
Develop new hobbies
Enhance their skills & creativity
Go on a short tour to refresh & reenergize
Better Scope of Independence
An unknown benefit of using respite care services is fostering a sense of increased independence for people with special needs. Besides being cared for by someone from the family, getting the chance to interact with someone outside is a welcoming change. The compassionate support workers at NDIS respite accommodation in Alice Springs is a wonderful opportunity to bond and make new friendships.
This once again proves that respite care is not a choice but a necessity to consider if you are a primary caregiver. Give yourself a break and allow your loved ones to receive the care they deserve from the professionals.

What Are the Different Airline Classes?
You can get cheap flights to Alice Springs from London. If your flight takes several hours, then flying cheap often means less comfortable accommodations and you would feel it once you land.
Likewise, first class flights to Christchurch will be comfortable and luxurious, but you will definitely feel the pain in your wallet as ticket prices are expensive.
Now, we will discuss the different airline classes and what each one offers. Also, are the upgrades gonna be worth it?
The first and cheapest airline class are economy seats. These are just basic packages with no frills or extra amenities
Everything in economy package is basic. Chairs are regular and closely spaced together. Some airlines offer meals and some simple amenities as part of the basic package.
Economy seats make up the bulk of the airline seats. In most cases, 80% to 100% of a plane’s total seating capacity are economy seats.
The second is premium economy. Some airlines do not offer this type of seating. The main difference between economy and premium economy is the space between seats.
Seating spaces in premium economy seats are a few inches longer. This can spell a lot of difference as most people will have their legs or knees knocking on the front seats during the flight.
Depending on the airline, there are upgrades when it comes to meals and amenities like blankets and other accessories. In most cases premium economy and economy share the same cabin or are separated by a blanket.
The next upgrade to this is business class. Business class has a significant jump in cost compared to economy. Many airlines that offer business class flights to Barbados and other locations offer different accommodations and upgrades.
Business class seats are significantly larger when compared to economy or premium economy. Most business class seats can also be reclined and may also have foot rests for a more comfortable flight.
In this class, there may also be complementary meals and drinks. Meals here can be different from the regular ones served in economy, either in quality or quantity. There may also be priority boarding, exclusive access to the airline lounge, and other perks.
Lastly, first class is the most premium class that you can find in airlines. Here, you get the ultimate benefits although the cost is the highest, too.
First class flights from Cairns to London will be much more comfortable with the benefits that airlines provide. First class seats are much larger and can be reclined and turned into a bed.
There is also much segregation and isolation in first class, with first class cabins limited to only a few passengers.
First class passengers also enjoy priority check-ins and immigration lines. They are also prioritized when it comes to onboarding and deplaning.
Like business class, first class passengers may also enjoy lounge access, high-quality meals, complimentary meals and drinks, and more.
In some airlines, business class and first class are treated the same. Some budget airlines also do not offer these higher-tier classes.
As such, take the time to ask the airline about what seat upgrades are being offered, as well as what benefits you are actually gonna get, for the flight that you would like to take.
There are many choices of airline classes, and each has their pros and cons and has varied availability, accommodations, and benefits.
When choosing to upgrade flights, there must always be a balance between the comfort and convenience that premium economy, business class, and first class flights provide, and the cost that it entails.
There is a significant jump in price especially from economy to business class. In some cases, the difference between lowest and highest classes can be double the price.
Still, for long flights, and if you can definitely afford it, then we can’t really blame you for splurging. For some of us, flying is such a rarity, so why not fly in the best luxury that you could afford?

Explore the Land Down Under: Your Ultimate Travel Guide to Australia
Australia, known for its breathtaking landscapes, unique wildlife, and vibrant cities, is a dream destination for travelers around the world. From the iconic Sydney Opera House to the stunning Great Barrier Reef, Australia offers a diverse range of experiences. In this comprehensive travel guide, we'll cover everything you need to know to make your trip to Australia unforgettable.
Preparation Before Visiting Australia
Before embarking on your Australian adventure, there are a few important things to consider. First and foremost, ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned departure date. It's also advisable to purchase comprehensive travel insurance to cover unforeseen events.
How to Get a Visa and Other Required Documents
Most travelers to Australia need a visa, and fortunately, the process is relatively straightforward. You can apply for an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) online, making it convenient and quick. Make sure to check the latest visa requirements and fees on the official Australian government website before applying.
Places to Visit in Australia
Australia boasts a plethora of attractions. Sydney's iconic Opera House and Harbour Bridge are must-see landmarks. Explore Melbourne's vibrant arts scene and coffee culture. Head to the Great Barrier Reef for world-class snorkeling and diving, or venture into the rugged Outback to witness the awe-inspiring Uluru (Ayers Rock). Don't forget the pristine beaches of the Whitsundays and the ancient rainforests of the Daintree.
Places to Visit in Small Towns
While the big cities offer a lot, don't overlook Australia's charming small towns. Visit Byron Bay for its laid-back vibe, Surfers Paradise for its golden beaches, and Port Douglas for its boutique shops and fine dining. Small towns like Alice Springs and Broome offer unique Outback experiences and indigenous cultural encounters.
Personal Vehicle vs. Public Transport
The choice between personal vehicle and public transport largely depends on your itinerary. If you plan to explore major cities, public transport is efficient and cost-effective. However, for exploring remote areas and small towns, renting a vehicle is ideal. Australia offers well-maintained road networks and scenic routes for road trips.
Booking Accommodation: Couch Surfing and Cheap Hotels
For budget-conscious travelers, Couchsurfing is a fantastic option to connect with locals and find free accommodation. Alternatively, you can book affordable hotels through websites like Booking.com or Hostelworld. Don't forget to check for reviews and ratings to ensure a comfortable stay.
Renting a Vehicle as a Tourist
Renting a vehicle in Australia as a tourist is hassle-free. International travelers can easily rent cars from reputable agencies at major airports and city centers. Ensure you have a valid driver's license and familiarize yourself with Australian road rules, as they may differ from your home country.
Top Picks for Trekking and Solo Camping
Australia offers some of the world's most scenic trekking and camping opportunities. Explore the stunning landscapes of the Blue Mountains, hike through the ancient Kakadu National Park, or challenge yourself with the Overland Track in Tasmania. Remember to obtain any necessary permits and follow Leave No Trace principles for responsible camping.
Applying for an International Driving License in India for Australia
To drive legally in Australia as an Indian tourist, you'll need an International Driving Permit Australia (IDP). Apply for an IDP through your local Regional Transport Office (RTO) in India before your trip. Ensure that you carry your Indian driver's license and IDP while driving in Australia to avoid any legal issues.
Australia offers an adventure like no other. Whether you're exploring its bustling cities, rugged Outback, or pristine wilderness, this vast and diverse country promises an unforgettable experience. With proper preparation, you'll be ready to embark on your Australian journey, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
