Four major wildfires have forced tens of thousands of residents to evacuate Los Angeles County. The largest, the Palisades Fire, has destroyed 1,000 structures and burned over 5,000 acres. Fires in Eaton Canyon and other areas have stretched emergency services to capacity. "The LA County Fire Department was prepared for one or two major brush fires, but not four," Fire Chief Anthony Marrone stated, citing extreme winds as a major challenge. Officials warn worsening conditions could further endanger residents and homes.

Vice President Kamala Harris was briefed as fires approached her Los Angeles home, which was under evacuation orders. "And it's always sad when I have to say this, but part of our responsibility is to make sure that no one loots or steals from our residents." Amazon pulled the plug on the premiere for Jennifer Lopez's Unstoppable and Universal cancelled the world premiere for the Blumhouse horror film Wolf Man, both slated to take place Tuesday night. Paramount has also cancelled its Wednesday night L.A. premiere for Better Man, a Robbie Williams biopic, and the upcoming Max medical drama series The Pitt cancelled its red carpet in Los Angeles, which was set to take place on Wednesday. The premiere of The Last Showgirl, scheduled for Thursday, has also been cancelled by its studio, Roadside Attractions.

The annual BAFTA Tea Party, a celebrity-filled stop on the Oscar circuit originally intended to occur on Jan. 11, has been cancelled "in light of the dangerous winds and wildfires in Los Angeles," BAFTA North America said in a statement on X.

Mansions belonging to the rich and famous aren't the only structures being destroyed. Iconic film locations such as Topanga Ranch Motel, which has featured in a dozen films, were being threatened by fire, local media reported.

A fire broke out Tuesday near the Pacific Palisades — a coastal neighborhood on the west side of Los Angeles — and quickly exploded in less than an hour to at least 200 acres.

A large swath of people in Topanga Canyon, a woodsy, tucked-away community with one winding road in and out, are under evacuation warnings. The fire sparked amid a “life-threatening and destructive” windstorm event that’s sweeping through a region that has not seen significant rain since spring.

The region is prone to massive, fast-moving fires that erupt during the dry, powerful Santa Ana winds. The area’s geography and limited evacuation infrastructure can make evacuations a challenge.

Anime: Code Geass, Soul Eater, Death Note are the ones I like the most (will reblog stuff from Hetalia, Dungeon Meshi, and whatever's gay, cute, or even both)

Fanfiction: Meh. Only recently getting back into reading Harry Potter fanfics and that's after a while. If you have fanfics from a fandom I'm not in I'll still read them though.

Games: Uhhhh, Minecraft? And Tetris? I play Grepolis too.

Literature: For non-fiction I mostly enjoy historical and biographical works; my favourite authors so far are Anthony Beevor and Laurentino Gomes. For fiction I mostly enjoy fantasy and historical fiction, some of my favourite books are the Harry Potter, Leviathan, and Artemis Fowl series. I also love anything ever written by Finnish author Mika Waltari.

Movies: I don't do that.

Random: Calligraphy, conlanging and conscripting, language learning (currently Russian), legal history, true crime, execution methods, calendar reform, antidisestablishmentarianism, and others, and others, and others.

PRIMEIRO

o César nasceu em 1990 e estudou com o Bruno, implicando que os dois tem idades parecidas (como margem de erro vou usar 2 anos pro cálculo todo). O César provavelmente era um ano adiantado por ter nascido em janeiro.

mas o Bruno ainda tava no orfanato em 2009, o que significa que ele tinha menos de 18 em 11/2/2009, quando aconteceu o incêndio*

ou seja, o mais velho que o Bruno pode ser é ele ter feito 18 anos em 12/2/2009, tendo nascido em 91. O mais novo que ele pode ser (caso o César tivesse rodado duas vezes e ainda estivesse no mesmo ano que ele) é ele ter nascido em 93.

*até é possível que órfãos maiores de idade fiquem no lar por alguns meses (até acharem outro lugar) ou também por tempo indeterminado, se forem trabalhar no orfanato. Isso é menos comum, então to considerando que eles só iriam embora.

aí é que complica. Eles parecem ter a mesma idade, mas se a gnt começa a considerar altura fode tudo 😍

o Bruno é descrito como alto, e eu tinha a impressão que o Gal foi tb em algum momento, mas não achei onde :/ (se algm puder confirmar ou negar agradeço)

eu também achava q o Gal era alto por causa da capa do ep 7 de calamidade:

Mas essa ilustração tá fora de escala, pq a gnt sabe que a Artemis tem 1,90 de altura e o Damir tem 1,75, mas ele parece mais alto que ela aqui.

então eu fui comparar as outras ilustrações oficiais do gal, mas não achei nenhuma que deixasse clara a altura dele. Já que não achei fonte certa dele sendo descrito nem como alto nem como baixo, vou considerar que ele tem uma altura média.

também dá pra comparar as alturas com o Dante, que, na foto, tem 12-13 anos (nascido em 1993)

vendo essa foto, fica claro que o Bruno não tem 13 ou 14 anos, querendo dizer que ele tem que ter nascido em 1991 (e que o César não repetiu dois anos do ensino fundamental :D)

e também é bem condizente dizer que o Gal tem 15 anos nessa foto.

O ngc é que essa ilustração não é prova, tanto porque cada criança cresce no seu tempo (então o Gal poderia ser muito alto com 14 anos, ou o Bruno um mlk de 13 anos comicamente bombado) quanto pq desenhar crianças/adolescentes é muito dificil (veja-se criança do cyberpunk). então pode muito bem o desenho não corresponder perfeitamente com a idade que quer representar, ou até ser estilizado.

fazendo a mesma estimativa que eu fiz com o César e o Bruno (mesma idade com dois anos de margem de erro, mas não podendo ter 18 anos antes do incêndio), podemos dizer que o Gal nasceu entre 12/2/1991 e 31/12/1993, tendo de 30 a 32 anos de idade ^^ eu tendo a acreditar no 91, já que encaixa melhor, mas n da pra ter ctz.
