Like, yes, I think some of the "we're making this so you didn't have to play botw" stuff was awkwardly handled and in some cases unnecessary.
I DON'T think every case of difference is a continuity retcon.
Purah and Robbie have apparently had around four to six years to strip every piece of Sheikah tech they could find. The Sheikah monks apparently set a timer on their tech that let it dissolve or teleport or something once it wasn't needed anymore.
Is the DEGREE silly and dumb? Yes, but the simple explanation is right there.
--Also again if you talk to enough npcs and do enough side quests almost all of the botw Lore comes up.
I think making the original Sages essentially faceless nonpersons wasn't the best choice and creates some Unfortunate Bad Vibes in the story messaging
I think the reason they DID it was because they didn't want four more characters like the Champions to overshadow the modern Sages, not because they were forwarding an agenda (just. Just give them their own fucking names Nintendo it's that easy, you don't even have to give them faces at that point)
I think Nintendo doubling down on the Foreign Evil Wizard trope is more them clinging to the trope itself and thinking they can keep it and be less racist if they make the Gerudo themselves more sympathetic. They're WRONG but that's what I think is going on there. (I do not personally need a bullet point list on all the things wrong with that idea. I know.)
I'm sure I'm going to have more commentary to this effect by the time I finish the game but yeah I'm just having a lot of "my man did none of those things but he sure as fuck did these other things you're not acknowledging"
I'm having the same problem with totk that I had with botw which is that I have genuine criticisms but I feel like I can't talk about them bc people will jump on with criticisms I think are in bad faith
And even people I otherwise respect are some of the same people forwarding the crit I disagree with

I'm wondering now that we know Robbie/Ghost Rider is in the finale we'll see the penance stare in action again? Maybe Aida is a real person at that point and he can use it to defeat her? It could also be used to prove how guilty May and especially Fitz truly are for their actions in the framework which could mirror Daisy being spared in 4x01 (i really just want this to happen so i can feel vindicated tbh)
Hi Anon!
TV Line confirmed it yesterday and I’ve had my theories about it for awhile now.
My thoughts still remain that AIDA getting herself a real girl body is only part of the plan that the Darkhold has its own agenda and we’re going to find out what that is tonight.   And whatever that is is likely not only going to allow but require Robbie’s return in order for them to stop (and if they are planning on one they  are going there set up his own spin off).
I’ll be honest, if May or Fitz doesn’t get the take down of AIDA herself (with Jemma and Daisy close third) I’ll be a bit upset.  They have suffered the most at her hands and I feel they deserve that ‘win’ against her.  But AOS doesn’t always go that route so we could see either the Real Girl body and/or Android body on the receiving end of that…though I believe they have to have a soul for that to work…I could be wrong its early and I need to read up on my Ghost Rider knowledge again
Robbie can take out Chthon or whatever else comes out of the Darkhold (nope not letting that one go at all)…and the Darkhold itself.  After all we suspect that the previous host of Ghost Rider was hiding that book for a reason…someone knew what its true purpose was.
It will be interesting to see how much of the team Robbie interacts with again. If they are all together or split up going into the final battle.  I’m expecting him to for sure be with Daisy but am not sure about anyone else right now.
