AIS 140 GPS for Mahakhanij

AIS 140 GPS for Mahakhanij GAGAN-01 is an electronic device which locates its position and sends it by using GPRS network along with I/O information. This device is suitable for applications, where it needs the location of remote assets. It is important to mention that GAGAN-01 has inputs, outputs and a serial communication feature which will control and monitor other devices/status on remote assets. It has a USB port for configuration of settings and the status log output of the device. The GAGAN-01 device is compiled with AIS140 standards where in each operation can be detected accurately and precisely. The device also supports multiple Panic buttons which are used to generate an emergency alert in emergency conditions. For a couple years now, I’ve been eyeing the advancement of robotic lawnmowers. Ever since the Roomba, it’s been obvious that a lawnmower could work similarly. You don’t want it bumping into everything, of course, but the basic premise is the same. Last year, the prices were getting to a point where I’d start considering them, and I figured that this year could be when the technology had matured enough to pull the trigger on one.

All robotic lawnmowers have relied on a wire being staked down, outlining the area that you want to mow. Husqvarna mowers have added some GPS mapping abilities, but they still need the guidelines. Enter the Landroid Vision.

Worx has had the Landroid line for awhile, but this May, they are introducing “boundaryless” mowers. The Vision models sport a 140° wide angle HDR camera. It can identify grassy areas and obstacles. Neural Network Mower uses AI deep learning to continuously improve this identification. The only boundary markers you have to install are to delineate your lawn from your neighbor’s. You can also place RFID cards to tell it where it can cross over driveways or other surfaces to reach different mowing zones. 

Other notable features are a rain sensor so that it will avoid damaging the lawn or getting stuck in wet conditions, a water-resistant design to withstand rain, very quiet operation, WiFi connectivity, remote management through a mobile app, and batteries that can be shared with other Worx products. They have several models ranging from 1/5 acre to 1 acre. My yard is small enough that I can get the cheapest model: $1,600. And they have a punny name.

The one potential issue for me is that I have a fairly steep bank in one area of my back yard. The Landroid is capable of navigating a 30% grade. I’m eventually doing some landscaping that will take care of that, and I’m willing to deal with it if the mower can’t. Husqvarna has a model that will handle 70% grades, but it’s more than twice the cost and would require boundary wires.

I’ve signed up on the pre-order list. This should be interesting.
