A new epidemiological study found that fluoride exposure from drinking water associates with decreased testosterone levels in young and middle-aged men.

Testosterone dropped most sharply in 18-39 year-olds based on fluoride burden. Surprisingly, in older men with higher fluoride exposure, testosterone increased with age instead of declining as expected. This complex relationship hints that fluoride may disrupt multiple hormonal pathways beyond the male reproductive axis.

A novel study reveals fluoride affects serum testosterone in a complex, age-specific manner, adding evidence that environmental toxicants may contribute to declining hormonal function in younger males.

Published in Biological Trace Element Research, the cross-sectional study examined fluoride exposure and two reproductive biomarkers, testosterone and androgen binding protein (ABP), in over 300 Chinese farmers.1 Scientists divided participants into higher and lower fluoride exposure groups based on urinary fluoride levels.

Compared to the lower exposure group, men with elevated fluoride measured significantly lower testosterone overall. This depletion was most pronounced in 18-39 year olds. Paradoxically, among higher-exposed middle aged and older men, testosterone increased slightly with age instead of undergoing the expected age-related decline.

Meanwhile, ABP remained unaffected across groups regardless of fluoride burden and age. As ABP governs testosterone transport and tissue uptake, results indicate fluoride direct

Lumi loafs on her perch, back in ABP, with a conflicted look on her face. She can't exactly blame TPO as she listens to the conversion below. Red was arguing with TPO, Green was trying to meditate, and Blue was on Red's side.

She narrows her eyes, placing a paw under her chin. Her eyes drift over to the door that she and TPO made to access the little place a while ago, and an idea comes to mind.

She remembers seeing the girl, Root, using a portal in a single spot every time. She knew jack about code, but.. surely something would linger there if she did it every time.

Her ears perk up, and she leaps off the perch. She breaks into a run, heading towards one of the few doors.

"Lumi?" Blue calls, his paws gently thumping against the ground as he turns and races after her. "What are you doing?"

"I have an idea!" Lumi grins, skidding to a stop by the last door. She then walks down a bit more and sits down.

Right, how did she do it without TPO's help..

She holds up her paws and forms a circle with them, one on top and one on the bottom. She feels the familiar energy form and then she thrusts her paws forward.

A door appears, with no location set.

"What." Blue blinks comically.

Lumi opens her eyes and bounces on her paws. She gets up and races down towards one of the first doors and jumps through.

"What is she doing?" Red asks as he comes rushing over, TPO and Green right behind him.

"I have no clue." Blue shakes his head as he comes up as well.

The group of cats all jolt when the sounds of crashing and cursing comes from beyond the door. Then.. "COMING THROUGH!"

The group all yelp and manages to rush out of the way when a familiar set of two rings, with mist in the middle, comes barreling through with Lumi clinging to the outer ring.

"A POWER POINT?!"

"I HAVE AN IDEA!" Lumi cheers. She hops off the power point (really a checkpoint, but she doesn't need to spoil the moment) and looks at her friends with a confident smile. "We're obviously not doing well by ourselves. So, why don't we recruit whoever is with her?"

"What." They stare at her.

"Whenever Leto talks to her, Root always mentions other people!" Lumi wraps her tail around the outer ring and starts walking. "If we go there and explain the situation, they'll be sure to help!"

"Are you sure about this?" Blue frowns as he follows. "What if-"

"We can't rely on 'what-ifs' anymore, Blue." Lumi cuts him off, looking at him. "That kid is getting worse, and anything we do, we can't do efficiently."

She sighs. "So this? This is our best bet."

The ground behind her all pause, looking at each other before nodding.

"What do we do?" Green asks.

"Red, Green, Blue! Go and grab that door I made." The trio nods and rushes off. "TPO, help me get the Point through the connected door."

As the group reconvenes at the door to the other world, they sneakily move through, carrying with them the door and check point. They all carefully pace and weave through the large area, keeping their ears pricked.

Finally, they get to the spot, and Lumi sets it up. She places the door down, and in an instant, it starts reacting, code crackling around. A vibrant red mixes with the white, and Lumi grins.

With a huff, she tosses the check point, and it envelopes the door. The mist expands to cover it, and then darkens.

"Percect!" Lumi laughs. "It worked!"

"Wait, did you expect it not to?" Green looks at her incredulously.

"K-Kinda." She laughs again, though this time nervously.

"Hide!" Blue suddenly hisses, as the mist began to crack and sparkle. The cats all yelp and rush off, hiding behind banisters.

Root walks through and looks around, confused. "Huh.. guess Bioluminescent wanted to designate where I come from." She smiles before walking over to the ground, where her cloak had been discarded. She dusts it off before heading back through.

"Now!" Lumi whispers loudly, and the five cats shoot through the check point just before Root's portal can close.

As they land on the other side, Lumi because distinctly aware how.. round everything seems. Not flat or 2D.

"Woah.." Green seems to share the sentiment, his eyes sparkling.

"Perfect!" Lumi cheers, hopping up to her paws. "Now, all we have to do is-!"

Silver roots erupt from the ground and wrap around them all. The cats all shriek and struggle as the vines squeeze them a bit too tight.

"You." Root snarls, emerging from some nearby trees. Her rapier appears, and she points it towards TPO. "You brought backup because you're too chicken to face me alone?!"

"She recognizes you?!" Red's tail puffs up.

"I'd recognize anyone's inferior character code any day." The offshoot of Ozymandias narrows her eyes.

Blue struggles against the roots. "Hey, come on, we don't want to hurt you or anything. Let us go!"

"Let you go?" Root sneers. "Yeah, right. Coral mentioned things like you, saying you were spying on us. I'll get rid of you right here, right now."

".. yeah guys, maybe turn liquid-"

The group all turn to liquid and slip out of the roots, just as Root swipes her rapier at them and the roots holding them captive.

"Book it! Run!" Lumi shouts, and the group runs.

Root chases them after them, snarling softly. "Bring it on!"

They are contained right here in this little collection called the Horror Movie Files!

Disclaimer: I do not own anything from the SCP mythos. This will be a fanfiction based on the American side of the SCP foundation, International SCP’s might be mentioned but that’s it. Also please don’t assume I know everything about every cannon because let’s be honest no one does. So, if I say something that contradicts the current SCP universe then just assume I don’t know or don’t care about it. This is a fanfiction after all so things are bound to get messy. So please bear with me as I try to make this mess work.

Extraordinary Measures: It’s Time to Abolish the Latin Mass

Proponents of the Latin Mass are proponents of schism. The most recent ecumenical council—one of the highest forms of authority in the Catholic Church—decreed the Mass to be in the vernacular. To allow so many variations from the universal norm in the Latin-rite church can be damaging to the spirit of common prayer which we are called to by the Roman Ritual and the Roman Missal. Admittedly, the Dominican rite and the rite used by former Anglicans (among others) concern me, they’re only applicable in specific pastoral situations, and do not, for the most part, interfere with the unity of the Church at large.

A regressively conservative liturgical group in the Archdiocese of San Francisco, personally overseen and funded and led by Abp. Cordileone, is seeking signatures to a perition demanding more Latin Masses and rejecting a supposed rumored crackdown, additionally calling “to pray and fast for Pope Francis.” This sort of open disdain for the rule of the pope would be unheard of if attempted against P. Benedict XVI or P. John Paul II by these same people.

Out of boredom and concern, I have compiled frequent rationales calling for more Latin Masses and my responses to them below.

Is the Latin Mass more traditional than the Novus Ordo?

No. The word “traditional” has been heavily co-opted and re-appropriated by those supporting the Latin Mass, as opposed to those understanding the original meaning rooted more in the Church as a living tradition. Just because something has been done longer doesn’t necessarily make it more traditional in the Catholic sense. Jesus was not traditional in this way, nor were the early Christians. Even with this simplistic argument equating prolonged time with tradition, the original Last Supper wasn’t in Latin, nor was Latin the universal norm for quite some time at one point.

The Novus Ordo is traditional. Even the reformed rites in the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, not yet mandatory in the US until Ash Wednesday of next year (2025), will be traditional despite some of the words and actions having never been said or done previously.

Since the pre-Vatican II ritual books are recent enough for some of the faithful to remember, would it be ok to allow its use for them?

No. We don’t allow other previous liturgies (e.g., use of the Sacramentary circa 2010 or other ancient ritual books) or translations for use, so why would we make an exception here? This seems to be a political ploy which I suspect is to inflame a popular movement in order to even further roll back the reforms of the Sacred Council. Also, take one look at the population of the Latin Mass attendees and you will see that the vast majority were not alive at the time of its customary use.

Is the Latin Mass more reverent and respectful than the Novus Ordo?

No. It’s almost like a reverse “sackcloth and ashes” situation where we have some people who wish to be seen being more opulent or more pious so as to virtue signal their self-perceived liturgical superiority.

Since young people are demanding the Latin Mass, should we listen to them and implement it?

No. Perhaps it’s helpful to ask: which young people are being listened to? Is it mostly conservative white men with money and lots of children who are doing the demanding? Are bishops listening to all the people of good will or instead narrowly searching for ones who already share their views? If young people do not find beauty and truth in the vernacular liturgy, then we have failed as catechists and liturgists. Although anecdotally, as someone who has worked with Catholic youth for many years, I can attest this is not what the majority want. It’s much more uncommon than Tumblr or other social media or even many bishops would have you think.

Is the Latin Mass more authentically Catholic?

No. Being under the authority of the Pope and following the binding ecumenical councils are important parts of what makes one Catholic. Not recognizing the authority of the Pope or Vatican II makes you literally a Protestant.

"The Rise of Success: The Inspiring Story of Bale Chandrahas"

Bale Chandrahas is a young business magnate and investor from Telangana, India. He is the founder, CEO, and owner of Lime Stone Corporation and Mercury, as well as the president of the philanthropic Bale Foundation. Chandrahas is considered to be the teen-wealthiest person in the world, with an estimated net worth of around $21 million as of February 3, 2023.

Chandrahas was born on October 15, 2008, and attended KGR High School briefly before dropping out to focus on his entrepreneurial ventures. In 2021, Chandrahas co-founded the online software and game development company Lime Stone Corporation with his friend Hitesh Kumar Sanga. The company generated $7 million in revenue in 2021.

In 2021, Chandrahas founded Mercury, an e-commerce company, with an initial investment of $1.8 million. He later acquired and merged it with the e-commerce business Inco, of which he was an early investor. In 2022, Chandrahas founded Porex, a non-profit forex trading company. He has also proposed a space exploration company that makes cheap space travel and transportation systems, and is planning to found a cryptocurrency company called Namot.

Chandrahas has made controversial statements on politics and technology and has been criticized for his wealth. He has also faced legal issues, including a settlement agreement with the SEC, for which he paid a fine of $11,150.

Chandrahas' family was not very wealthy during his youth. His father is a college lecturer and aeronautical engineer, while his mother is a government teacher. He has two younger brothers named Kranthiveer and Savyasaachi.

Chandrahas attended Mount Carmel High School, Sainik School, and is currently studying at KGR High School. After more than 7 months of Israeli bombardment, just a handful of ATMs remain operational in the strip, most of the them in the southern city of Rafah, where some 1.4 million Palestinians are sheltering.

Supplies of basic goods had returned to some markets in April and early May for the first time in months after Israel ceded to international pressure to let in more aid trucks amid famine warnings.

But residents and aid workers say that many people haven't had the cash to purchase them. Now residents say Israel's offensive in Rafah has dried up supplies again and stoked prices.

Hundreds, sometimes thousands, of desperate people crowd outside ATMs, often waiting days for access. Armed gangs sometimes demand a fee to provide priority access, exploiting the absence of Palestinian police, three Western aid workers and seven residents told Reuters.

Abu Ahmed, 45, a resident of Rafah, said he had waited for as long as seven days and became so frustrated that he turned for help to gang members, who are sometimes armed with knives and guns.

"I paid 300 shekels ($80) of my salary to one of them for accessing the ATM and getting my cash," said Abu Ahmed, who asked that his last name not be used for fear of reprisals. He earns 3,500 shekels per month as a public servant.

The three Western aid workers described the gangs as improvised groups that have sprung up across the Strip up as desperation has grown.

As of May 13, only 5 branches and 7 ATMs remain operational in the strip, primarily in Rafah, according to the Palestine Economic Policy Research Institute, a non-profit organization headquartered in the West Bank. Before the war, Gaza had 56 bank branches and 91 ATMs.

The conflict erupted after an Oct. 7 attack on Israel by Palestinian Islamist militant group Hamas, in which some 1,200 people were killed and more than 250 taken hostage. Israel's assault on Gaza, aimed at destroying Hamas and returning the hostages, has killed at least 35,000 Palestinians, according to Gaza's health ministry.

The Palestinian economy runs on the Israeli shekel. Gaza's financial system is almost completely dependent on Israel, which must approve major transfers and the movement of cash into the enclave, bankers said.

Israel has blocked cash imports to Gaza since the start of the war in October, according to the Palestine Monetary Authority (PMA) and the Association of Banks in Palestine (ABP), a non-profit based in the West Bank city of Ramallah.

Adnan Alfaleet, the Gaza district manager of Palestine Islamic Bank, which operates the biggest Islamic banking network in the Palestinian Territories, said his bank has no cash left in Gaza.

"We reached the point of complete lack of liquidity now. It can't get worse," he said.

The Israeli central bank did not respond to questions about whether transfers had been blocked. It said there were no Israeli banks in Gaza and shekels had circulated there in the past because of trade with and Palestinian workers in Israel.

COGAT, an Israeli Defense Ministry agency tasked with coordinating aid deliveries into the Palestinian territories, did not respond to Reuters' questions.

Mario and Nimbus (in their seperate universes) are once again pulled to CAL, by a suspiciously placed blue and white portal..

They assume their forms from before and very cautiously start to traverse. They meet Lumi, but note this isn't SMG4 Lumi. This is Loop Lumi, where she doesn't even know anything about the Code World. Ever since Leto took over ALitS, ABP has just been looping Loop Lumi on repeat, erasing her memories each time. (Explanation here.)

L!Lumi is very kind and helpful, especially once they meet her friends, Red, Green, and Blue. Things actually go well until the scripted event when Green is meant to leave. Before Green does, SMG4 Lumi comes crashing in while in her more cat form. Bracelets made of coral are on each of her ankles along with a coral circlet, and seeing Mario and Nimbus, S!Lumi chases them. With Green's departure put on hold, L!Lumi and her friends chase after them.

Hijinks ensue, but Nimbus is also super concerned with the rhetoric S!Lumi is shouting, as it was the same things Leto said to her to trick her. With the help of the ABP gang, S!Lumi is tied up by a piece of Red's tail, frozen in a time block by Blue, and spikes moved by Green trape S!Lumi.
