"It's a dragon, a toucan, a parrot, a Disney dog, a cobra, a horse, a centaur (not to be mistaken with horse), an ostrich, a dinosaur, and a pentapod!"
"Oh yeah, the Ancient Greeks called the original one the Snalvos."
"Da fuq?!"
"Yeah! A servant of the Goddess Hecate who would illuminate ropes and lines for sailors and farmers and others toiling at night. One of the objectives in the Perseus gaiden was a piece of rope still glowing with the light of the Snalvos, but Perseus had to search by it for day in a pile of ropes that were all shining under the bright sunlight. He had to charm Nephele to get her to bring him a cloud to blot out the sunlight, and then after finding the right rope he had to get out of there in a hurry when Zeus was angered by the cloud marring his pristine summer sky."
"Wow!"
"Anyway, the Snalvos' descendants are counted in Greek mythology among the great τέρας."
"My girlfriend's name is Tera!"
"Well, she obviously has classical breeding and possibly five legs."
"HOW DID YOU KNOW?!?!" 😰

#Greek Mythology#A “Snalvos” is not a real thing from Ancient Greek mythology sadly#But maybe now it can be! =D#Art#Most of the Perseus gaiden has been lost to history#Having not been localized at the time into PAL or NTSC.#Notable remaining fragments include the aforementioned Snalvos story#A trip to the original McDonald's on the Island of Krokos#And the source material for the Pink Elephants scene from Dumbo.
