Oh then, how we gonna cry?
'Cause it once might not mean something?
Love, a second glance, it is not something that we'll need
Honey, understand that I have been left here in the reeds
But all I'm trying to do is get my feet out from the crease

For the (not) musical chairs thing
How about this one? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BU6SA2RVFq0
This is just a really sad song T-T
I love the song. I love the emotions of it. But... it's just so sad. I don't know who I'd apply it to. It almost feels like I'd be willfully drowning whoever I associated it with ^^;
It seems I've missed the chair on this one and am just sitting on the floor xD
Not quite musical chairs

I might finally start getting tattoos. I’ve been really in the fence about it due to me not being sure if I can sit still during them as well as the possibility of it triggering a psoriasis flare up. But I really want to get a sleeve of 22, A Million symbols

Flashback: When the Party's Over - Billie Eilish
13th November 2023
Well, Taylor's album re-release didn't exactly prove to have legs. Last week seven songs from 1989 were in the top ten. This week 'Is It Over Now?' is the only song remaining at #3, with Tyla's 'Water' reclaiming the #1 spot. This only reinforces my opinion that the whole Taylor's Version thing is a bit of a marketing gimmick first and foremost - there doesn't seem to be much longevity here.
Anyway, since we've already covered 'Water', we'll flashback five years to 2018 when the #1 song was Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's 'Shallow'. We've, uh, already covered that one as well, and we've also already covered the #2 song (Ariana Grande's 'Thank You, Next') and the #3 song (George Ezra's 'Shotgun') which were both #1 at some point.
Instead we'll look at the #4 song, Billie Eilish's 'When The Party's Over'.
youtube
The song, Eilish's first solo release to chart in NZ (after previously reaching #4 with her duet with Khalid 'Lovely') is fairly different to the other songs in the chart at the time, with it's darker lyrics, and musically sparse arrangement. Apparently the song features over 100 vocal tracks layered together by Finneas O'Connell, Eilish's brother, and the writer and producer of the track.
Although 'When the Party's Over' 'only' peaked at #3, it definitely put Eilish on people's radar. Over the next several months she became incredibly popular and it didn't take her long to score her first #1 with 'Bad Guy' a mere five months later.
'When the Party's Over' was inspired by Bon Iver's '715 - CRΣΣKS' and also Imogen Heap's 'Hide and Seek', and you can definitely hear the song's shared characteristics, especially in the later case. Interestingly, Bon Iver and Imogen Heap have both worked with Taylor Swift before which brings this whole thing full circle. Bon Iver features on Swift's 'Exile', and Heap co-wrote and produced Swift's 1989 track 'Clean'.
Eilish continues to be a fascinating artist who's always bringing something interesting to the table with each new song she releases. I may not always love each of her songs, but I'm always curious to listen to them. It can't be too long (hopefully) until she releases her third album, so stay tuned. And see you next week!

Ooooh! I think this is the song in YB's insatgram post. Interesting.
https://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/boniver/715crks.html
OMG, is this really his attempt at getting her back? *This*?
Has he NOW realized what be threw away? What a POS. (You, OTOH Anon, are a treasure. TYSM.)
"715 - CR∑∑KS"
Down along the creek
I remember something
Her, the heron hurried away
When first I breeched that last Sunday
Low moon don the yellow road
I remember something
That leaving wasn't easing
All that heaving in my vines
And as certain it is evening 'at is now is not the time
Ooh
Toiling with your blood
I remember something
In B, unrationed kissing on a night second to last
Finding both your hands as second sun came past the glass
And oh, I know it felt right and I had you in my grasp
Oh, then how we gonna cry
Cause it once might not mean something
Love, a second glance it is not something that we'll need
Honey, understand that I have been left here in the reeds
But all I'm trying to do is get my feet out from the crease
And I'll see you
Turn around, you're my A-Team
Turn around now, you're my A-Team
God damn, turn around now, you're my A-Team

Finally getting around to drawing character references. Started with this lad a while ago since I was in a train mood. Obviously no better character to draw in relation o trains than good old Jack McLane.
Tumblr media
General information:
-Worked as an fireman and engineer for the Southern Ditch Creek Railroad. (And later BNSF)
-He was well known before his accident, often going over the allowed speed to get trains in on time, but never had a wreck.
-Was always telling stories of ghost trains, wrecks, accidents, and just silly harmless mistakes of fellow workers.
-He had one of the most famous accidents in the railroad’s history. Where when driving one of the railroad’s famous Steel Gator passenger trains, engine number 715 named Anchor, the bridge over the Mississippi River collapsed with the train on it. Of all the people on board, only Jack McLane(engineer), Lewis Dudley(fireman), and George Farman(conductor) survived the wreck by jumping from the train before it hit the water and what parts of it that weren’t submerged, caught fire from the engine’s embers that went everywhere.
-Jack was generally well liked by the people he worked with. Often telling stories, pulling his weight, and being friendly.
-Jack is certified to drive both steam and diesel locomotives on class one railroads. Despite this he’s never driven an electric.
-Jack is often the bane of his boss’s existence, breaking and bending the rules without ever causing trouble, and being one of the best workers around so it’s not worth the loss to fire him.
