#I’m ranting in the tags bc I don’t want my words to be so bold#anyway#idk if this is what the 1975 does per say with their ‘sign ups’ on their website#but I think they use the information of how many fans they have that sign up in certain cities to choose where to tour#I could be completely wrong#but even if I’m not#I genuinely think more artists should do that#like it’s not a super great way to see how many fans are in a place that maybe isn’t normally toured in#but it’s a starting point#and if there’s a big demand of fans in a certain city that a band or artist has never been to or hasn’t been for a while#then they tour there#you know??#it seems like within the last 2-4 years specifically artists are choosing to go to the most popular places#I’m speaking as a Canadian but like#6+ years ago I remember big artists and not so big/not so small artisrs#going to Vancouver and Edmonton and Calgary and Montreal and Regina and Ottawa and Toronto etc#and now we’re lucky if they go to both Vancouver and Toronto#leaving out the entire middle of the country when Canada is the second biggest country in the world#it fucking sucks for people who can’t afford to travel for concerts#and I feel like I’m never going to see anyone ever again because of it#like Harry only going to Toronto was a low blow#but NIALL?? that one hurt#especially because that’s essentially travelling to the other side of the country for me#it makes me feel defeated#idk I’m bitter today#rant
