Mathews in the 1950s
Heartthrob actor Kerwin Mathews is best remembered for starring in the swashbuckler films The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958), The Three Worlds of Gulliver (1960), and Jack the Giant Killer (1962). He retired from acting in 1978 and opened a clothing and antiques shop in San Francisco.
Mathews met Tom Nicoll, his lover, in 1961. The two remained together for 46 years, until Mathews’ death in 2007 at the age of 81.

Part 1 Studio portraits of Marilyn Monroe taken in November 1948 by photographer JR Eyerman for Life magazine (he covers a photographic report of Marilyn which will appear in an article in Life in February 1949). Marilyn is wearing here the long silver dress that she wears in the movie "Love Happy". Some photographs will be taken by United Artists studios to promote the film.

On this day in 1954, Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio attended a special Sukiyaki dinner in Kobe, Japan, organized by the Central Baseball League in Joe’s honor. The event took place at the Isami teahouse in the Hanakumacho district, with guests including Francis 'Lefty' O'Doul and his wife, Jean O'Doul.
At the dinner, Marilyn and Joe shared a table with Seizo Noda, president of Hanshin Electric Railway and owner of the Hanshin Tigers, as well as Matsutaro Shoriki, owner of the Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper and manager of the Yomiuri Giants. They were introduced to geishas, and Marilyn received several gifts. ✨️
