FLEKKERØY is named for the southern Norwegian island from which she originally operated. She’s shown here in 1940 in an image taken from the deck of a Swedish freighter.
FLEKKERØY Facts
FLEKKERØY is a double-ended pilot cutter built in 1936 in Høllen, Norway. Her keel, stem, and sternpost are of white oak. Her 5″ (sided) frame futtocks are of Norwegian pine, which makes each double-sawn frame 10″ wide; they are spaced about 20″ on center. The planking is 2″ white oak fastened with trunnels measuring 1¼" in diameter. The trunnels have conical heads, go all the way through the frames, and are split and wedged on the inside. The deckbeams are of roughly 6″ × 6″ pine and rest on 3″ × 8″ sheer clamps, also of pine. The deck planking is 2″ pine. The deckhouse, stanchions, covering boards, and caprail are of white oak.

The boat measures 40′8″ on deck, and is about 57' overall if you count the spars. Her beam is 15′2″ and draft is 6'. Her volume is 17.04 GRT, and she displaces 55,000 lbs. She is rigged as a gaff cutter with a mast measuring 53′ from the waterline, and a retractable bowsprit. Her sail area of 1,345 sq ft is divided into four sails: a mainsail of 610 sq ft, a staysail of 245 sq ft, a jib of 335 sq ft, and a topsail 155 sq ft. We also have two smaller jibs and one bigger one.
For no-wind conditions, she is equipped with a British Leyland 113-hp six-cylinder diesel engine, with a 4:1 PRM gearbox and a 32″ Variprop feathering propeller. She has no outside ballast, so ballast consists of 9,000 lbs of lead ingots placed in the bilges. The rudder is of white oak and is hung outside on the sternpost and steered with a tiller. She has a Windpilot servo-pendulum windvane selfsteering system. The anchor windlass is a manual two-speed double-action Simpson-Lawrence with 300′ of ½″ chain and an 88-lb Rocna anchor as the main bower. There are no other winches onboard.
For heat we have a Kabola diesel pot burner of 4.6W, and a Webasto diesel cabin heater of 5kW.
Lighting consists of a mix of kerosene and electric lamps. Cooking is done on an Eno propane stove with two burners and an oven. The Kabola also has a cooking top. We have a cooler with electric refrigeration, but when the water is cold, the bilges work just as well. The tankage is 135 gallons of fuel and the same amount of fresh water. Communications are made via mail (the one with stamps), VHF radio, HF radio, and the occasional WiFi connection.

Includes the basics (bladers, beyblades, battles, events, debuts). Specific scores of individual matches not included. The English surname Granville, as in Dead Gran, is the surname of Phi and Hyde in this fan-made series.
Each opening would have different scenes from the original, but while I can draw I can't animate whatsoever, nor do I have time to draw an entire opening. So use your minds to imagine alternate scenes for the opening.
Clarkov Sahaidachny is intersex but is more masculine so goes by both he/him and they/them. Pretty much the closest any person can get to being a true hermaphrodite without it being critically dangerous. This goes for all variants of this OC.
I should point out that my fan-made version of Beyblade Burst includes murder, witchcraft, a monster girl bey, unethical science (a la Dr. Ziggurat with the Arrangement), yanderes, possession by spirits, torture, reincarnation, youkai, suicidal intentions, more lore to the bey spirit realms, bey spirits being able to appear as visible spirits, and more besides. If it were a real series, it would get an older age rating than the existing Beyblade Burst series.

Dead Hades! -> (Free loses to Hyde [GC], Ranjiro loses to Shu [GC], Laban loses to Lui [GC], Hae-Jin loses to Ken [GC], Osiria loses to Phi [GC]) -> {Esmeralda makes her Turbo debut, Hyde creates a tournament called Gran Cemetery in which bladers start at the entrance of the Dread Tower and have to race their way to the top during which he will roam and battle anyone he comes across with those losing to him or anyone else being eliminated, Aiger/Fubuki/Ranjiro/Suoh/Toko/Nika/Shu/Valt realise that Hyde has been completely corrupted - or inversed - by his own warped resonance giving Aiger bad flashbacks to his own time under dark resonance, Aiger vows to show Hyde what true resonance is all about, Phi creates Dread Phoenix and petulantly declares that he will destroy Hades, Phi puts on a new outfit to get people to fear him, Aiger/Cameron/Clarkov/Dariel/Evel/Free/Fubuki/Genki/Hae-Jin/Kaede/Karaina/Ken/Kirumi/Kit/Laban/Lui/Osiria/Ranjiro/Reichiru/Shu/Sora/Suoh/Tien/Valt/Xavier are transported to Dread Tower and chosen as the participants in Hyde's sadistic glorified reality television tournament for which all battles are televised to all bladers and all fans, Phi's new outfit fails miserably in making anyone grovel before him and only gets him ridiculed, Vice Leopard is revealed to have been repaired, Esmeralda shows up unannounced taking Valt/Free/Kit by surprise, Valt/Free/Kit find out why Esmeralda left Sol so abruptly that time as she is revealed to be Clarkov's self-appointed and rather vindictive bodyguard before Esmeralda informs everyone that she'll enter the Dread Tower alongside the participants to protect her client, Karaina admits her glasses are just for aesthetic purposes annoying Cameron, Phi crashes the tournament and enters himself in, Xavier's castle maids turn up in the crowd at the Dread Tower main stadium to support him, Free tells Valt that if no one succeeds in beating Hyde it will mean their way of blading is a total failure, Free sees his victory snatched away from him at the last second in the worst way possible, Hades shatters Fafnir, Free is left in broken stammered sobbing by Fafnir's death, Clarkov witnesses Free's crushing defeat and gains a newfound hatred of Hyde which is a feeling they are confused by, Esmeralda suspects Clarkov is slowly regaining the ability to feel genuine emotions again letting on her knowledge of their mostly unknown past, Hyde's victory over Free in the very first match of Gran Cemetery sends shockwaves through the other participants, Ranjiro makes Wild Bey Gang proud despite his loss due to how resolute he was against Shu, Lui pretty much says "screw destiny" and defies Laban's fortune telling like in the Lúinor Cup final match, Free/Ranjiro/Laban/Hae-Jin/Osiria are eliminated from Gran Cemetery}
44 - Xcalius vs. Mysurarni! Xavier's Kingdom! -> (Phi defeats Cameron [GC], Clarkov defeats Xavier [GC], Sora loses to Fubuki [GC], Nightfell loses to Evel [GC], Dariel defeats Kaede [GC]) -> {Clarkov creates a new launch, Clarkov takes a leaf out of their sensei's book and creates a new move called Deprave Spin, Xavier realises that Aiger was right about Mysurarni back on Battleship Cruise, Clarkov displaces Xavier as a member of the Turbo 7, Xavier leaves to join his castle maids in the audience at the main stadium of Dread Tower, Evel takes back his research from Nightfell, Kit comes across Valt and challenges him to a surprise title match during Gran Cemetery, Free catches Kirumi in the middle of a poem about what a long-lost lover would embody and asks her to deliver a letter containing helpful tactics to Clarkov, Kirumi takes the opportunity to see the student of Free's that intrigues them so much, Cameron/Xavier/Sora/Nightfell/Kaede are eliminated from Gran Cemetery}
45 - Enchantment! Survival In The Tower! -> (Valt defeats Kit [GC/TM], Tien loses to Genki [GC], Karaina defeats Reichiru [GC], Lui defeats Suoh [GC], Hyde defeats Ken [GC], Aiger defeats Fubuki [GC]) -> {Valt retains his title as world champion, Karaina inquires to Reichiru about how she joined Slavaria Cossack and ends up becoming intrigued with both Valentyna and Clarkov in particular, Karaina is revealed to have been put to death for false charges of witchcraft in multiple past lives and holds an intrinsic desire to save those she holds dear from ever having to go through the same thing, the attendees of Gran Cemetery are shocked to learn that reincarnation is actually a real thing, Suoh finally gets his long-awaited match with former fellow Canadian school student Lui that he missed out on in the Lúinor Cup, Hades shatters Kerbeus, Hyde mockingly calls Ken a disgrace to bladers representing the underworld, Hyde falls further under the warped resonance's control, Fubuki helps Aiger train to overcome his self-doubt during their meet-up and battle, Kit/Tien/Reichiru/Suoh/Ken/Fubuki are eliminated from Gran Cemetery}

Seasonal Showdown! -> (Genki loses to Aiger [GC], Shu defeats Lui [GC], Clarkov defeats Kirumi [GC], Phi defeats Dariel [GC]) -> {Shu and Lui reminisce about the times they battled each other in the National Tournament and International Bladers Cup, Lui declares he intends to get payback for Spryzen Requiem shattering Nightmare Lúinor but begrudgingly admits that it helped him and Lúinor get a new perspective on how fun battling a worthy opponent is, Shu expresses his pleasure at finally having a chance to battle Lui with no mental baggage or pressure, the announcer Daemon almost accidentally grants the victory to Lui/Lúinor before correcting himself and awarding it to Shu/Spryzen, Kirumi recalls her loss to Free when he told her about his student Clarkov and their personality to which she became interested with their student due to said personality being almost everything she likes in a person though initially not believing Free due to the described personality, Clarkov becomes confused as to why Free had Kirumi deliver a letter of tactics to them for use if they have to battle Hyde and unconsciously admits to Kirumi that they think they have to shoulder their burdens on their own, Genki/Lui/Kirumi are eliminated from Gran Cemetery}
47 - Researcher Spirit! Scientist vs. Witch! -> (Hyde defeats Clarkov [GC], Phi defeats Dariel [GC], Karaina defeats Evel [GC]) -> {Kirumi's somewhat cryptic talk helps Clarkov becomes able to put their trust in other people in full and stop trying to handle everything on their own, thanks to Free's advice Clarkov is able to prevent Mysurarni from being shattered though they still lose quite badly, Evel compliments Deprave Mysurarni as one of his best pieces of work after watching it battle Hades, Kirumi tries to fight out the concept of really falling in love with Clarkov having told herself that she'd never be like this, Phi mockingly outs Dariel for being slightly unhinged and passes brutal judgement onto him in battle, Phoenix shatters Dullahan, Evel insists he has no interest in entertaining Karaina due to her being a witch and tells her that magic is a lousy excuse for being an imbecile, Karaina likewise insults Evel's scientific intelligence which he takes with tranquil fury and accuses him of using both Hyde and Clarkov for his own purposes which Evel denies, Evel and Karaina very quickly become rivals, Karaina is revealed to have overheard the Kirumi-Clarkov battle and decides to employ Evel's methods to collect data on his assistant, Evel tries to call out Karaina for her slight hypocrisy but she's already run off excitedly to find and battle Aiger much to his exasperation, Clarkov/Dariel/Evel are eliminated from Gran Cemetery}
48 - Blading Together! Spryzen vs. Hades! -> (Shu loses to Hyde [GC: Final 1], Aiger defeats Taiga, Aiger vs. Hyde continued [GC]) -> {Shu becomes the first person to make it to the main stadium of Dread Tower followed shortly by Valt and then Aiger, Fubuku ponders about how the battle is between the main blader of the previous incident and the main blader of the current incident, Hades shatters Spryzen, Valt challenges Hyde to avenge Shu but ultimately decides to let Aiger challenge him instead, Hyde declares his match against Aiger will be a Burst-only match in an attempt to prolong Aiger's/Achilles' suffering, Shu is eliminated from Gran Cemetery}

True Resonance! -> (Aiger defeats Hyde [GC: Final 2]) -> {Aiger masters Achilles' sword and shield and thus fully bonds with Achilles for the first time, Aiger manages to free Hyde from his warped resonance, Hyde/Hades experience true resonance for the first time, Hyde realises how much he has been hurting Hades all this time and worries that Hades will abandon him but his bey holds no grudge like Phi has been, Hyde is eliminated from Gran Cemetery, Gran Cemetery ends with Aiger as the victor, Hyde tells Aiger he is welcome at Dread Tower any time, Aiger wishes Hyde luck in his move to settle things with Phi, before leaving Hyde turns around and thanks Aiger for helping him get out of his brother's shadow, after Gran Cemetery's completion Hyde stands up to Phi calling him a pathetic spoilt brat throwing a tantrum because he didn't get his own way for once that time Hyde chose Hades, Phi is too rocked from his loss to Shu and Hyde's match with Aiger to even respond, Hyde outs Dread Phoenix as being a rip-off of Dead Hades, Aiger's win in Gran Cemetery earns him the chance to battle Valt for the title of world champion, everyone who attended Gran Cemetery leaves Dread Tower and catches a flight from England to Japan to see the title match}
51 - Bonding! Simple Seaming Techniques

Simple Seaming Techniques
Stitching two pieces of fabric together using a straight stitch creates the simplest of seams. If you’re working with a commercial sewing pattern, most seams are stitched with a 5/8"- wide seam allowance (meaning the stitching is 5/8" from the fabric edge), though some patterns use narrower seam allowances. Always check the guidesheet for specifics. The seam allowance width is the space from the cut edge of the fabric piece to the stitching or seaming line.  
Straight Seams
To stitch a straight seam, pin the matching project pieces right sides together, matching any notches, clips, dots or other pattern markings. Pin at regular intervals and perpendicular to the cut edges. Position pins about 2" to 3" apart to keep the fabric from shifting. Begin stitching at the cut end of the seamline, backstitch 1/4" to anchor the seam. Stitch forward to the end of the seam and backstitch to secure .
Corner Seams
To stitch a corner seam, follow the directions above, but as you near the corner, stop 5/8" from the corner (or whatever the seam allowance width is) leaving the needle down in the fabric. Lift the presser foot and pivot the fabric, realigning the new seam allowance edges with the seam guide marking on the machine. On acute or sharp points, such as shirt collars, take one to three stitches diagonally across the corner to allow some room for seam allowances turning inside. Use one stitch on lightweight fabrics and three on heavyweight fabrics. Lower the presser foot and stitch along the second side of the corner, keeping an even seam allowance width. allowances to eliminate a visible ridge on the project right side. If all edges “drop off” at the same width, it’s easy to get a noticeable ridge, especially during pressing. Grading provides a gradual slope of the enclosed seam edges .
Exposed Seams
Exposed straight seams are usually pressed open flat, and depending on the type of fabric used, some finish may be needed to keep the seam allowance edges from raveling. Edge-finishing options include cutting the seam edges with pinking shears, zigzagging, overcasting, binding or serging. 
Enclosed Seams
Enclosed seams do not need a seam finish, but they must be handled differently than exposed seams. To reduce bulk, trim the enclosed seam allowances from their 5/8" original width, but trim each seam allowance edge at a different width—a process called grading. The seam allowance that will be closest to the outside of the garment/project should be the longest, followed by narrower widths for each successive seam allowance. There will always be at least two seam allowances, but if there is a separate collar and/or interfacing layer(s), there will be more. Curved Seams
Necklines, armholes, princess seams and other curved areas require an additional step in the seaming process— clipping or notching, depending on the shape of the curve. For inward or concave curves, clip into the seam allowances at regular intervals to allow the fabric spread and lie flat. Leave about 1/8" of the seam allowance width unclipped to avoid weakening the seam . For outward or convex curves, cut out notches in the seam allowance width to allow the fabric to lie flat without bubbling when the seam is turned right side out. Notch (cut away small wedges of the fabric) into the seam allowance at regular intervals to remove the fabric, but always leave 1/8" intact at the seamline to avoid weakening the seam .
Corners
On enclosed corners, such as collar points or front facing edges, you need to eliminate seam allowance bulk at the point so that when the project is turned right side out, the corner will lie smooth and flat without bulges. Trim the corner seam allowances diagonally, close to the stitching, and taper on either side. The sharper the corner is, the wider the tapered trim area should be to reduce bulk .
Princess Seams
A princess seam joins one inward curve and one outward curve, adding fullness to the seam instead of having a dart in the same location. Joining opposing curves requires extra care. Before joining princess seams, staystitch the outward curve 1/2" from the cut edge; then clip to the stitching. Place the cut edges together with the clipped seam allowance on top, allowing the clips to spread as needed to match the curve underneath. After the seam is stitched, notch the inward-curve seam allowance to allow the seam allowances to spread. Press the seam open over a pressing ham or other curved surface.
Thread Tensions
Before stitching any seam, stitch a test seam on two layers of fabric; use scraps of the project fabric. Examine the stitching on both sides of the fabric. If bobbin thread is visible on the top, reduce the needle thread tension slightly. If needle thread is visible on the bottom, increase the needle tension slightly. Read the full article

no one asked but here we are:
i am procrastinating my ass off today and i saw this on @something-tofightfor ‘s page and thought “OH LOOK A NEW WAY TO PROCRASTINATE MY ASS OFF!” So here’s some useless information about me: 
1. Do you put ketchup on hotdogs?
Yes. Alllll the toppings. Onions, relish, mustard, mayo and ketchup. 
2. Choice of soda?
I don’t really like soda because I don’t love sweet beverages. Ginger Ale, I guess, if I had to pick. 
3. Do you put salt on watermelon?
So I never knew this was a thing until I worked at a fancy schmancy place where there was a fancy schmancy watermelon cocktail that was finished with a wedge of watermelon that had been sprinkled with kosher salt. And it was fine but seemed unnecessary. So that was my long winded way of saying: not on purpose. 
4. Can you swim?
I can. I had a small above ground pool in my backyard growing up and I was in it ALL the time. I also took lessons and grew up only a few miles from the ocean, so learning to swim with currents was part of my childhood. 
5. Hot dogs or burgers?
Toss up. Gimme one of each at a cookout.   
6. Favorite type of food?  
Tacos. All kinds. Any kinds. 
7. Do you believe in ghosts?
I do. But I’m not afraid of them. 
8. What do you drink in the morning?  
Coffee, black with a little drizzle of honey. 
9. Can you do 100 push-ups?
The most I ever did at once was 40 (not the kind some asshats call “girl pushups”- we don’t have time for why I hate that- with your knees on the floor, but with my legs all the way extended) but I could certainly get to 100 if I had a few weeks to build up to it. I couldn’t do more than 12 a few years ago. 
10. Summer, Fall, Winter or Spring?
Fall and Spring over Summer and Winter. But Winter is last. 
11. Your favorite animal?  
Giraffes. I got to feed one once and it was one of the best days of my life. 
12. Tattoos?
I have one - the number 26.2 on my right foot. I got it after I ran my first and only full marathon (marathons are 26.2 miles). I have plans for more but there are other things I need/ want to save my money for before I can spend on ink. 
13. Do you wear glasses?
I sure do. I have thick coke bottle glasses and without them the world is just a bunch of formless blobs of color and light and shadow. 
14. Do you have a fear?
I have a very irrational fear of something happening to someone I care about while they’re driving. If it takes someone longer than expected to get somewhere I start to panic until I hear from them. It’s a problem. 
I used to be afraid of clowns and I still certainly do not like them, but now I know how to choke people so... they can come at me I guess. 
15. Do you have a nickname?
Most people call me Lyss. A few family members call me Lissie. My sister calls me Sissie because she had trouble with L’s as a small child and couldn’t say Lissie, not because it’s a cute form of sister. One of my very good friends from college calls me Fro-ho Baggins because of my giant ass hair. 
16. Can you change a tire?
I’ve done it once and I dented the wheel well. After that time I always ask for help. I *could* do it...but I don’t wanna fuck up my car. 
17. Favorite flower?
Daisies. 
18. Can you drive a stick?
No, but I want to learn. I always wanted to know that in an emergency I could drive any vehicle I needed to. But that’s not true currently. I know that soon they will probably do away with manual transition altogether but I still wouldn’t pass up the chance to learn. 
19. Ever gone sky diving?
No but I really want to! Fun fact- the head instructor at my gym has done like over 100 solo jumps. 
20. Kids?
Nope. 
21. Favorite color?
Green. All kinds of greens. 
22. Can you whistle?
Yeah, like, really well. 
23. Where were you born?
New Jersey
24. Surgeries?
I had major surgery on my right foot in 2018. I had an accessory navicular bone, which is the roundish kind of bump bone on the inside of your foot, right under your ankle. I had a second one growing on top of the existing one, and it was pulling the tendons in my calf and foot in the wrong direction. It caused my arch to completely collapse and it got to the point where it was excruciatingly painful to even walk. So they removed the extra bone, cut my heel away from my foot, moved everything back into place, took out about a foot of diseased tendon, and then screwed everything in place with one LONG screw through my heel and into my foot, and one small threaded anchor holding the good tendons to the spot where they’re supposed to go. I was in a cast for...I think it was 8 weeks total, and then a walking boot for about a month after that, and then another two months of PT. 
25. Shower or bath?
Shower. Baths bother me. I know they’re supposed to feel relaxing but I can’t help feeling grossed. Maybe if I had like a super nice jacuzzi tub with like jets and enough space to really lounge and stretch it would feel better, but i’d prefer a shower anytime. 
26. Last song you heard?
Papillion by The Airborne Toxic Event is playing right now. Does that count? 
27. How many TV’s in your home?
One.
28. Worst pain?
When the nerve block wore off the second day after the aforementioned surgery. I was so out of it for the first like 20 hours that I was home that I really couldn’t feel a thing, but then all at once it was there and it was awful. I have a VERY high pain tolerance and I was just in tears. 
29. Do you like to sing?
I do! I’m not very good but I do not give a single shit. 
30. Are your parents still alive?
My father is. My mom passed away 9 years ago. 
31. Do you like to go Camping?
I LOVE CAMPING. I want to camp every state. And I want to do a Canadian camping adventure sooooo badly. 
32. What do you binge watch?
So, binge watching is the only way I watch anything anymore. So...everything I watch I watch all in one go. Most recent binge of something new (to me) and not something I’ve seen a million times was Hanna on Amazon Prime and I frickin loved it and I love Erik and I’m not okay. 
33. Pumpkin or pecan?
Neither. Sweet Potato, not pumpkin (a new development) and Pistachio not Pecan. Replace the pecans with pistachios and voila. 
34. A photo of yourself.

Trekking to this cave from Bandipur is fascinating and takes about the one-and-a-half-hour hike. Instead, you can also hike uphill to the cave from Bimalnagar. The 131 meter long tanker Eastern Glory allided with the Barelang II Bridge in Batam City, Riau Islands, Indonesia. The Eastern Glory had been at anchor off Barelang Root Island when a tug arrived on scene. The tug took the Eastern Glory under tow to re position the tanker so that other vessels could anchor nearby.  The tug struggled to keep the Eastern Glory under control.  Strong currents and wind gusts pushed the tanker overwhelming the tug.  The tug was forced to drop the towline and the Eastern Glory drifted away until it struck the bridge breaking its main mast. No reports of injuries.

The Eastern Glory remained wedged against the bridge for several hours until several tugs arrived and were able to pull the the tanker free. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.  No reports of pollution released.

5.     Marking with pencils and scribers the cutting lines of the materials.
6.     Erecting framework, scaffolds, hoists, roof supports or chutes, and forms using hand tools, plumb rule and level.
7.     Using nails, bolts, anchor rods, steel cables, planks, wedges and timbers, anchor and brace forms and other structures in place.
8.     Installing rough window and door frames, subflooring, fixtures besides that temporary supports in structures undergoing construction or repairing work.
9.     Examining structural timbers and supports to detect decay. Also replacing the timbers as required using hand tools, nuts and bolts.
10.                         Boring bathhouses using a power drill in timber, masonry or concrete walls. Using woodworking and metal working machines fabricate parts.
Finish Carpenters
Finish carpenters are also known as trim carpenters. They usually work on the final stages of the carpentry projects.
They mainly do the following
Decking
Roofing
Drywall detailing
Remodelling
Interior Trimming
Intricate woodwork Projects
Finish carpenters are more expensive to employ. They are veteran and too much skilled so that something is little extra in them from the rough carpenters and that's why they can provide a clean and artistic finish to a wooden project.
So that it's considered that to give a project a successful finish, trim carpenters are mandatories.
