We’re delighted to have two new donations related to Maynard Pirsig, class of 1925, former professor (1929-1970) and former Dean of the Law School (1948-1955). We just unboxed these two items: Pirsig’s Rolleiflex 3.5F (c. 1972) and Montblanc Meisterstück pen. Pirsig’s personal camera was used to take photos already in our collection, some of which we will share soon! We are grateful and excited to have these ties to Pirsig join the collection.

A few days ago I posted a picture of this crane and two more cranes that reside alongside this one. Unfortunately that picture did not appear in the Flickr Activity Feed of any of my contacts and it got even less attention than my pictures usually get! So here I am trying again and hoping this time that it does get some visibility. I'm not holding my breath that Flickr have fixed the problem. 120 film photography Rolleiflex 3.5F Schneider Kreuznach Xenotar 75mm f3.5 Kodak Ektar 100
As promised, we’ve dug through our photo archive and found some shots of Maynard Pirsig (‘25, Dean of the Law School ‘48-‘55) with his Rolleiflex 3.5F in its trusty case!
And as this is the time of vacation photos, we found some photos from Pirsig’s European travels circa 1970. We can’t confirm that he took the photos on his Rolleiflex, but we’d like to think it’s a possibility!
