#I randomly met a curator a few weeks ago#had an admittedly interesting discussion with them#and they emailed me an invitation to their exhibition opening today#(not as part of a mailing list. they actually wrote out an email and referenced some stuff we talked about)#so. what are the reasons to go :#1) they remember me and this would be a good networking opportunity#that's it#what are the reasons not to go :#1) I feel a bit sick#2) it's raining and I want to stay in bed#3) the gallery has a particularly awkward parking lot and I don't park very elegantly as it is#4) my friend has an emergency and can't go anymore. so I'd be going alone#5) the new covid is going around. even if I weren't sick already I could get sick there#and yet even at 1:5 part of me still feels like I should go......
