LG microwaves Review

Of course, this south korean giant does not require the introduction. Today, models under LG brand successfully compete in almost all segments of consumer electronics, including robotic vacuums, smartphones, dishwashers, projectors, etc. And of course, LG holds an undisputed leadership in the OLED TVs segment. Microwave ovens are no exception. Many experts regularly include LG in the leader list of this segment, along with Whirlpool, Samsung, Panasonic and Miele. In the past few years, LG NeoChef has become one of the most popular series. In fact, it embodies all of the company's innovative technologies, including iWave (uniform distribution of microwave power), Smart Inverter (smooth adjustment of magnetron power), antibacterial EasyClean coating, ECO ON system (energy saving), Sensor Cooking technology, and hexagonal-shaped Turn-Stable. The range of adjustable power ranges from 200 to 1100 W. In addition, the Hexagonal-shaped Turn-Stable with six wheels virtually eliminates tipping over and increases the maximum allowable weight to 4.4 lb (2 kg.)

Moreover, in 2015 this series have received the PIN UP Design Award and Good Design Award. The compact LMC0975ST with 1040W and 0.9 cu ft capacity is one of the most popular models in this series.

Today, its price ranges from $ 160 to $ 200. The model has LG's EasyClean interior with Anti-Bacterial Coating, intuitive SmoothTouch glass controls, bright LED lighting, and reliable Hexagonal Stable Ring. Moreover, the company provides a 10 Year Warranty on Magnetron. The model supports a wide range of cooking programs, including reheat, beverage, fish, bacon, pizza, soften, vegetables, potato, rice, bread function, meat, dinner, poultry, and casserole. Of course, this is great functionality for models costing up to $ 200.

Main innovative technology and functionality

1. LG’s proprietary Intellowave (iWave) technology uses circularly polarized waves instead of plane-polarized.

It enhances the cooking process, providing deeper and even heat penetration by increasing the number of hot points within the cavity of foods. In addition, the company uses complex geometry of the chamber walls. It increases the number of reflected waves in different directions, providing a more even distribution of energy. 2. ECO ON In fact, ECO ON is a traditional standby mode. It automatically activates 5 minutes after the end of the last working cycle and turns off the display and backlight. 3. Hexagonal-shaped Turn-Stable with six wheels prevents tipping over even when placing dishes from the edge.

4. Smart Inverter technology provides all the benefits of inverter control, including reduced power consumption, increased magnetron life, etc.

5. Humidity-sensing in Sensor Cooking technology determines when food is cooked and automatically turns off the microwave. But this feature is only available in the LMC1575 and LMC2075 models. Today the company offers a wide range of models with different functionality. This list includes: - LG solo models have standard equipment for heating and defrosting products; - models with a grill use a heating element and a skewer for cooking steaks, chicken or fish; - convection models provide hot air circulation in the chamber by the fan; - models with a steam generator provide steam cooking; - a microwave with a yogurt maker provides the preparation of yogurt with bifidobacteria without the use of chemical additives; - models with a deep fryer provide the preparation of dishes such as breaded chicken, french fries, etc.

Smart Inverter

Of course, microwave power substantially affects the cooking quality. Unfortunately, the design features of magnetrons do not allow the user to smoothly adjust their power. Therefore, developers use periodic on / off to control microwave power. In fact, the device periodically turns off the magnetron, stopping the generation of microwaves. This works as follows. For example, in the food warming mode, the magnetron turns on for 4 seconds, and then turns off for 17 seconds. Such alternation corresponds to a minimum power of up to 100 W. But defrosting requires an increase in power, for example, up to 160 W. In this mode, the device will increase the duration of magnetron generation to 6 seconds and will reduce the shutdown duration to 15 seconds. Changing the ratio of the cycles duration, for example, to 10 and 11 seconds, will provide a further increase in power, for example, up to 360 W. Finally, its continuous operation without interruptions will provide maximum power, for example, 1000W. But the rapid development of inverter control has changed the situation. Functionally, any inverter technology is an analogue of the gas pedal in a car, providing smooth adjustment of power. In recent years, companies have been actively offering inverter air conditioners, washers, refrigerators, etc. Microwaves are no exception. Panasonic and Siemens were the first to offer inverter models with smooth adjustment of magnetron power. But soon the LG NeoChef series joined the list. Formally, the technology reduces temperature fluctuations. But, probably, only a very experienced chef will be able to use this pros. The Bluetti EB240 features the exact same basic two-tone ABS plastic and aluminum alloy case style of its smaller brother, the Bluetti EB150. It is however significantly bulkier, both in size and weight. Though the Bluetti EB240 is strictly “portable”, you’ll struggle to carry this beast of a battery for more than a short distance.

How Long Does it Take To Charge?

Using the included AC charger will take about 15 hours for a full charge. Charging from solar will depend entirely on the rating of the panel, and the weather.

The specifications of the panels need to be within a working voltage of 16-60V, and a maximum of 10A. If you’re unsure, Maxoak sell a matched portable panel that we’ll be taking a look at next month. To charge fully using solar only, you would need to have good sun and as close to the maximum 500W of solar input as you could. It is possible to fully charge in a day given enough panels.

How Long Would the Bluetti EB240 Last For?

Watt-hours is a capacity rating typically used for large batteries. A watt-hour is a total amount of power used by a device that draws one watt of power continuously for one hour. So running a 50W LED strip for one hour would use 50Wh of power.

To work out how long the 2400Wh of the Bluetti EB240 would last you, you need to know how much power you’ll be drawing from it. This includes both the AC and DC outputs. Then divide 2400 by that number. As an easy example, if you want to run devices that totaled around 100W, this should last you 24 hours (2400/100). In reality, the inefficiencies of power conversion may give you up to 10% less.

Since the Bluetti allows you to simultaneously charge from solar, you could also extend the number of hours your devices will run for by plugging in a solar panel.

You might be used to measuring battery capacities in milliamp-hours, or mAh, but that actually depends on voltage and by itself isn’t a complete measure of capacity. It’s only by convention that USB batteries can be rated like that, on the assumption that they’re running at 5 volts. If you wanted to compare the 2400Wh capacity of the EB240 to these, the value can be converted, and it works out to around 480,000mAh (at 5V), or 235 charges of an iPhone X.

For real-world testing, I plugged in our fridge freezer, which lasted just less than 24 hours. The resting rate was reportedly 42w continuous but spiked up to 150-300W for up to 10 minutes after the fridge or freezer was opened.

We had better luck with a large chest freezer, which is designed to be very power efficient. In fact, the resting rate was so close to zero that the Bluetti didn’t report any usage initially. However, again after opening the freezer and at other intervals throughout the day, it would spike up to 100W. In the end, the Bluetti EB240 powered the chest freezer for about 3 or 4 days. With even a modest-sized solar panel augmenting this, it could run almost indefinitely.

Is 1000W Continous Output Enough?

One of the drawbacks of the Bluetti EB240 is that despite such large storage capacity, the output is relatively small at only 1000W. Even at maximum output, the Bluetti EB240 could run for just over two hours. But if you do need a large burst of power, even for a short time, you’ll need to look elsewhere.

Still, 1000W is enough for most small household appliances. To really push that limit, I used an induction hob. Using P3 cooking program was 850W; P4 maxed out at 1024W, which may have been limited by the EB240 not permitting more. Still, P3 was more than enough to fry a lovely home-laid egg.

  Is This the Backup Battery For You?

Given the ability to hook up the Bluetti EB240 to a solar panel or two, could it be a complete off-grid kit? Only if your needs are relatively small. As I showed, you could easily run one large appliance and smaller devices for a day or two, or longer with solar input. You certainly couldn’t power an entire house off this. It’s not a small-scale Tesla Powerwall and the total capacity cannot be expanded. While some competitors allow you to daisy chain units together to increase total capacity, the Bluetti EB240 is a self-contained device.

If you need a bigger burst of power than the 1000W limit, consider the Bluetti AC200, currently crowdfunding on IndieGogo. The capacity is smaller, but allows for up to 2000W continuous.

But for cabins, sheds, caravans, or emergency power outages for an appliance or two, it’s ideal. The Bluetti EB240 is a neat, all-in-one solution, with integrated solar charging circuit and AC converter. In terms of price per watt-hour, it truly can’t be beaten.

Is 1000W Continous Output Enough?

One of the drawbacks of the Bluetti EB240 is that despite such large storage capacity, the output is relatively small at only 1000W. Even at maximum output, the Bluetti EB240 could run for just over two hours. But if you do need a large burst of power, even for a short time, you’ll need to look elsewhere.

Still, 1000W is enough for most small household appliances. To really push that limit, I used an induction hob. Using P3 cooking program was 850W; P4 maxed out at 1024W, which may have been limited by the EB240 not permitting more. Still, P3 was more than enough to fry a lovely home-laid egg.

 Is This the Backup Battery For You?

Given the ability to hook up the Bluetti EB240 to a solar panel or two, could it be a complete off-grid kit? Only if your needs are relatively small. As I showed, you could easily run one large appliance and smaller devices for a day or two, or longer with solar input. You certainly couldn’t power an entire house off this. It’s not a small-scale Tesla Powerwall and the total capacity cannot be expanded. While some competitors allow you to daisy chain units together to increase total capacity, the Bluetti EB240 is a self-contained device.

If you need a bigger burst of power than the 1000W limit, consider the Bluetti AC200, currently crowdfunding on IndieGogo. The capacity is smaller, but allows for up to 2000W continuous.

If you need reliable 240v power for either at home or in the bush, then you need to figure out exactly how much power you are going to need to keep your campsite or home essentials running smoothly, particularly when you are off the grid.

When calculating the capacity of your next generator you need to work out the approximate wattage figures of all of your appliances, factoring in your essentials first and adding a buffer for any additional accessories you may not have in mind now, but could add to your setup later.

Whilst a generator will have it’s MAXIMUM load displayed clearly, many times this MAXIMUM load is designed for the peaks and surges encountered when devices are switched on and will not be adequate for long term usage – when selecting your petrol generator you need to plan to have a large safety margin factored into your power supply.

CIRCUIT LOADING There are 2 types of circuit loading that are possible to put on your portable 240v generator, the first being a resistant load which is typically “unchanging” or static with the wattage measured, a resistive load, although it might bring the generator near its highest end of rated output, it is a lot easier for the internal circuitry to manage a resistive load, it is typically found within devices that contain no electric motors, like toasters kettles, campsite lighting and many other styles of ‘static’ or stable loads.

The other common type of power load typically found in a circuit is what is known as a reactive load, these reactive loads is usually found in systems that have electric motors in them. Wat doet de Vizio A11-065N1A Adapter eigenlijk?

Net zoals vrijwel alle elektronische apparatuur (bijv. tv's, versterkers) functioneert elke laptop intern op gelijkstroom (DC). Uit de oplaadbare batterij voor uw laptop komt dus ook gelijkstroom. Maar de netvoeding in uw huis levert wisselstroom (AC) aan. Bij gelijkstroom lopen de elektronen steeds één richting op. Bij wisselstroom keert de richting 50 maal per seconde om (50Hz frequentie). De wisselstroom uit de wandcontactdoos dient dus te worden omgezet. Dit gebeurt in het voedingsgedeelte van het apparaat, dat ofwel is geïntegreerd in het apparaat ofwel als externe Vizio A11-065N1A Laptop-oplader is uitgevoerd. Dit laatste is het geval bij laptops.

Een gereguleerde voeding zoals bij laptops zal de uitgangsspanning vergelijken met een referentiespanning en eventueel corrigeren.

Als ik de Vizio A11-065N1A Adapter in het stopcontact steek zie ik een blauwe vonk. Is dat erg?

Nee, dit is niets om u zorgen over te maken. Het maakt hiervoor niet uit of u een geaarde of ongeaarde contactdoos hebt; bij beide kan het gebeuren. Bij apparatuur die veel stroom trekt, zoals een frituurpan of een wasdroger ontstaat ook wel zo'n ‘vlamboog’. Een laptop is dan wel geen zwaar elektrisch apparaat – in bedrijf vraagt het circa 0,5 Ampère – maar tijdens inschakelen trekt het een veel hogere stroom omdat de buffercondensators (een soort voorraadvaten) in de adapter zich supersnel willen vullen. Bij het uitnemen van de stekker kan ook een vonk ontstaan, omdat de condensatoren hun opgeslagen energie dan weer razendsnel loslaten.

Zo’n blauwe vonk is echter geen vorm van kortsluiting, aardlek of wat dan ook, maar een onschadelijk fenomeen. Stop niet eerst de stekker in de contactdoos en pas daarna de adapterplug in de laptop. Dan zult u inderdaad geen vonk meer constateren. Maar dit kan juist wél uw notebook beschadigen. De spanningspiek verplaatst zich dan namelijk naar de aansluiting op de laptop zelf; zo kan een vonk bij het moederboard ontstaan. Plugt u daarom eerst de adapter in de laptop en steek daarna pas de stekker in de contactdoos. De onschadelijke vonk neemt u dan voor lief.

Mijn Vizio A11-065N1A Adapter wordt heet. Is dat schadelijk?

Wanneer u langdurig werkt op uw laptop die is aangesloten op de netstroom via de AC adapter én tegelijk uw accu daarin oplaadt, kan deze adapter behoorlijk heet worden. Zo lang u de adapter nog gewoon in uw hand kunt houden valt dit binnen de specificaties en is dit niet schadelijk. Als de accu volledig is opgeladen zou de adapter weer minder heet moeten worden. Hier is een klein testje:

Sluit de AC adapter aan op de netvoeding en de laptop. Gebruik de laptop normaal totdat de accu volledig is opgeladen

Schakel nu de computer uit zodat processor en beeldscherm geen stroom meer verbruiken. Maar laat de AC adapter aangesloten.

Na een half uur moet de ingeplugde AC adapter al flink afgekoeld zijn. Na een paar uur moet de adapter op kamertemperatuur zijn.

Laat in ieder geval nooit de adapter in de contactdoos zitten zonder de laptop erop aan te sluiten. De adapter zal niet heet worden , maar nog steeds stroom verbruiken; dit is dus pure energieverspilling.

Als niet de Vizio A11-065N1A Laptop-oplader maar de plug bij de laptop heet wordt, is er een serieus probleem. Dit duidt namelijk wél op een defect. Een nieuwe adapter kopen is dan eigenlijk de enige oplossing.
