It's been hours and I'm still giddy over the fact that the Bad Batch got to raise Omega in peace. Hunter, Wrecker, and Crosshair got to stop running. The remaining original members of Clone Force 99 were able to heal together and start a new life in this little corner of the universe they carved out for themselves with their little sister. And that's so beautiful.

Being frozen in time definitely does something to you. Physically it cages you. Mentally it throws you into the longest dream you could ever have. It's not comfortable-- far from it in fact-- but you've grown to look forwards to it, when you loose. It's better than being mashed to dark paste at least.

You're frozen right now, in fact. Waiting in silence for time to loop back. Stuck with your thoughts and a vauge feeling of a dream. The house is around you and you're moving through it. Empty rooms and endless hallways, curling and twisting in ways that make them feel alive despite the lack of any living thing that isn't you. No sad monsters, no frozen bodies, no dark stains. There doesn't seem to be an exit.

The dreams you have when frozen seem to correlate to how you're doing emotionally. Most of them have been lost to time, like most things in your life now. Dreams, wounds, emotional bonds; everything is turning back with you, and that’s started to do something to you, because now you can predict the actions of those around you with quite a bit of accuracy. You can recall little bits of things, but the further back you go is just static. There was a bunch of dumb things that you can’t piece back together anymore, there were times with those you love, there was endless rage flowing through your very being, and there was this. The desperation. The empty halls of the very House you’ve worked so hard to protect.

You want out.

You've kept count of how many times you've been frozen. How many times you've died. How many loops. 61 is the counter and it's far, far too many times to relive the same day over again. You grew tired of the monotony by the tenth go around. Twenty five felt like a stab wound. Forty, like you were being split in two. Big 6-0 felt like drowning. You don't feel real anymore.

But that's fine! You can still see the good in this, if you stretch your imagination like taffy, as far as it'll go. It's better to be just you, just one person, than everyone else! You can live with the weight of the country on your shoulders for a bit longer, if only to keep it off of Euphrasie's. You’re doing this for her! For everyone. You can do it for a bit longer. You just need to find the King’s weakness, or something. Make a more powerful potion, or scrap together the materials to make a second craft bomb, or, or something! You’ll find it soon enough. You’re smart! You can do this!

You have to.

You turn down the hallway. Find yourself on an entirely different floor. Just as much of a ghost town. Just ice and cold and tiredness, your breath forming clouds in the air. That’s fine. This is just a dream or something, anyway. You’ll wake back up at your desk any time, with the looming vials of all sorts of toxic stuff you keep drinking that you crabbing neglected to put away because you didn’t think time would crabbing loop, because realistically, WHY would you assume that would happen? Preposterous! Ignore the burning feeling in your throat and the smell of sugar and push on. Wait for it to start all over again.

Because it has to be you, doesn’t it? You wished for this, or something. You don’t remember. It was a long time ago. It has to be you, because only you have the power. It HAS to be you, because who else would it be? Euphie? She’s already got enough on her hands. Mirabelle? You’d rather die. It’s better you do this than the ones you love.

Okay I understand where people are coming from with the "emotional suppression in Vulcans is learned not genetic" talk re: "Charades" but, consider......... the emotional suppression is muscle memory, and the aliens took away the mental muscles that remembered how to do it. It's a crude metaphor on my part, but that was the way I saw it.

Also consider: it's a sci fi show using extremely high-concept bullcrap science on a weekly basis and maybe nitpicking it is a fruitless endeavor because none of it is going to make sense otherwise and enjoying the ride for what it is is a much more enjoyable way to engage with this franchise. Sometimes you need to shrug and let dumb things happen and laugh.

I READ IT AT 16 AND CRIED SO MUCH BECAUSE SHE JUST NEVER HAD A LIFE. SHE DIED THE MOMENT SHE GOT FREEDOM. THE WORST ENDING PLOT TWIST BUT OH MY GOD. (Also I’m a bish so I was hoping other sister would finally tap out and be like “I have VASTLY overstayed my welcome on this planet at the sake of my sisters health and wellbeing” which she technically was ready to do but she ended up having a long life???? . Also white privilege is that the brother never goes to jail).

when i got to the part where the dad is like 'he wants to be punished for being a serial arsonist so i'll do the worst thing to him--giving him a hug' i thought abt the ask u sent me earlier and thought thats what u meant bc that pissed me off bad BUT IT ONLY GOT SO MUCH WORSE. like it was ooooooooooooooooooooo weird the book did all that about that child having no autonomy or choice just to kill her off and her organs donated without her conscious consent. it was such a cop out. even if she went through all that decided ykw? i DO want to give a kidney that wouldve been a bit defanged on the whole autonomy from her parents BUT deeply realistic or hell even if the car crash happened and the sister said HELL NO i do not want this kidney im ready to go. like its so odd that in this specific narrative the sister is like im done suffering i feel like such a burden bad things keep happening to my family bc of me and then her sister dies and shes in the throes of agony but just takes the kidney.

im just kinda let down bc this book requires you to 1. fill in a lot of emotional blanks. like i can fill in the blanks and say the sister took the kidney despite being ready to die earlier bc she already felt like she had to live for her mother or it would be a waste of the sisters legacy. but it wasted so much time on that useless ass love story when it couldve been fleshing out the emotional ramifications of the ending

which leads to point 2. a LOT of the parents shortcomings are just glossed over? the parents emotional neglect 2 out of 3 kids and the 3rd feels like a black hole that's ruined everyone's lives with a disease that's beyond her control but its quite clear to me the author expects us to believe the fitzsgeralds are good ppl just 'doing their best'. like its sooooooooooooo white american early 00s middle class w no care for anyone but themselves it honestly makes me fucking sick. the mother especially like basically had a favorite child and lowkey resented the son for daring to want to be loved and was clear about how the youngest was expendable. and the book emphasizing on how much she mourned 😐ok but u got what u wanted lmaoooo. like im sorry idk where i was supposed to get the feeling that she loved all 3 of her kids at all 😭😭😭😭😭 and then the brother turning his life around all bc his father negated consequences for him AGAIN. not to be a cynic but ppl don't change just with a fucking hug lmaooooo he shouldve gotten 15-20 years. gotten out in 5-10 for good behavior, started a prison outreach program and THEN maybe i'll believe he's changed.

1. Cuz they overcame a local overlord that thretened to cut the village they were living in from the tea business, not buying their tea leaves anymore, they created together an alternative plan to sustain the village and then when the overlord burned down the school where Tiam worked at they did their best to take down the man and they did! wile almost dying in the meantime They also overcame the fact that Tian was on some way responsible for the death of the previews voluntary teacher that was the reason Longtae was in university If they are fine after all this and still love eaxhothers like brothers I don’t know who could 2. The platonic besties, the sunshine boys of PhuPanDao(the village they live in) they became instant friends and bonded so much, they love eachother dearly, they help eachoter all the time! Longtae keeps Tians secret even if they are pretty big secrets, and after the biggest one got revealed(secret that in this case Longtae didn’t know) he is the first one to forgive Tian in just a couple minutes They are also just the fluffiest pair of besties! like just look at them and tell me they do not screem confort characters? especially Longtae he is just a baby mushroom with squishi cheeks!

Before the DLC drops I'd like to say my fav part of the base postgame is def the epilogue story bit of Team Star bosses...

I'm biased towards Team Star (I love them a lot ok) but it's just heartwarming to see them trying to adapt to their school again and get along with other students despite formerly being in a ""villain"" team (also because...they WERE bullying victims, remember)

And it's not like a typical cliche story of the crowds bowing down to the rebel team after they got called out for it. It's Team Star who were the ones standing on their own feet and making an effort /by themselves/ to fit in with everyone despite the scars they have gotten (and may have caused) from the past in the very same school... Building that courage is NOT an easy feat, after all... 🥲

Idk. I'm just glad this story existed and they were given a proper happy ending like this... 😭 And the fact that such a topic is handled in Pokemon at all haha

I think you're trying to distance yourself from these people because you know they're undeniably your party and that horrifies you. That you really were replaced. That they were never your family, and now they'll never be yours at all.

Toootally unrelated, but does anyone else ever think about how there's The Universe? Singular. And to say Loop is from a "Different Universe" implies that there's multiple of the same "god" in some way? And that the more likely option, canon wise, is that wish craft just made a second Siffrin to fulfill Loop's wish?

There's a deep tragic irony that Loop feels so broken when the party don't recognize them as Siffrin, and yet Loop describes them as copies. The world so familiar and yet to them, Loop unable to connect to it.

Even before they met face to face, Loop tried to separate themself from their family, and it wasn't until they saw them as a stranger that Loop truly felt that loss.

Balloon & Suitcase:

Ima provide a bit of context for this one: So Balloon is hated by every other character on account of being a bit of a dick in season one, and Suitcase seems to experience hallucinations. Suitcase is the only one who makes an effort to befriend Balloon, and is then the only friend Balloon has. While he was a dick in season one, the shit the other characters did was a tad bit unwarranted tbh! So their friendship is just super super wholesome as they feel safe with eachother and as Suitcase tries to get the others to at least be nice to Balloon. She stood up for Balloon when no one else would, and he helps her realize that the friends she had weren't that great. AUGH i'm sorry i could rant for AWHILE about how sweet it is, the way they find solace in each other- buuut uh yeah!!
