birthday this week... going to zoo with family (my mom, my sister, and her boyfriend), mom buying me new pair of leather boots (they're brown lace-up boots from blundstone i'm so excited bc my docs i've been wearing since 8th grade are...nearing the end, i've worn them to DEATH), baking my own cake (red velvet, of course)

#also i specifically chose to not get docs bc i feel like their quality is so hit or miss these days #my og docs (the 8th grade pair) broke in so well and were my most comfortable shoes for so long #but i got a pair of jadon docs a few years ago and just.#1) i didn't like the different leather. it was overly shiny and felt cheap to me #2) they were absurdly heavy #3) i could never break them in (after months of trying) and they gave me the worst blisters of my life TWICE #which is damn shame bc they look so cool #but yeah dr martens has kinda lost my trust #and also i want something different. something a little more akin to hiking boots. a lil sporty if you will.
