i think even if will does know now after living in cali for a bit that gay people can have happy endings, that he still doesn't think it'll happen to him specifically because all he's ever known and had is "bottom of the barrel literally never fails to somehow get impossibly worse what in the FUCK did i do in a past life to possibly deserve this bc god clearly has some kind of personal scorched earth beef with me" levels of Supremely Awful Shitty Horrendous bad luck so why would that of all things be any different?
