there's some tweet going around that's like a classroom seating diagram of ffxiv characters and you're supposed to choose who you want to sit between and I keep thinking about the untapped potential of this situation. like yes obviously I want to stick gum in emet's hair and kick his seat. hythlodaeus (self-explanatory)
but what really compels me is the opportunity to study zenos under a microscope while he fixes his flat lizard gaze on the horizon out the window and methodically eats an entire box of pencils one by one from the tips through the erasers

random thoughts abt Gisele and the EW endgame while vibing to the OST on the express bus home
originally I had the idea that Gisele fought the Endsinger alone in phase 1, holding her own until she got overwhelmed and was nearly killed until phase 2 when she turned into a Primal with aether empowerment from the Azem stone, her own Crystals of Light, and the prayers of the Scions + Hyth (who sticks around after being summoned back from the Aetherial Sea) and everyone back on Etheirys. Mainly because I really loved the callback to the final battle vs. Zeromus in FFIV in the actual game with the prayer sequence and want to go even harder with it
But now I’m thinking about Gisele and Ysayle combining their Echo powers on top of that and essentially becoming an Ascian Prime of sorts, doing what Lahabrea and Igeyorhm did in the ARF except they would do it to become a Primal
by then Gisele’s been taught by Venat to have a degree of control over the Echo that she never had before—invoking it at will—and it would be a powerful bit of development imo given Lahabrea’s taunts way back when that she was ignorant and feeble wrt her gift (not to mention it would be yet another parallel with Zenos). Gisele may not have Azem’s vast aether stores anymore but she’s the most powerful mage on Etheirys as of that point
and she and Ysayle are the last of Hydaelyn’s Chosen after all, in a place that literally runs on emotion, their love for each other being the thing that quite literally empowers Gisele to save the universe is. A lot. Plus it solves the issue of Gisele not really knowing the actual, practical mechanics of turning into a Primal beyond the stuff Ysayle told her if Ysayle is literally doing it with her
the only problem I see with that is the pre and post-battle stuff with Zenos…the former loses its impact a little if Ysayle is there and Gisele’s not alone when he does his big damn heroes thing (unless she summons her back with the Azem magic afterwards, just before the fight). And the latter would require Gisele sending Ysayle away before she duels Zenos or something
idk
