I swear I try not to comment stuff every time I watch an episode of Golden Girls, but they make it so hard. Take this conversation between Rose and her daughter Kirsten from S1E16 The Truth Will Out:
"Well, I thought, why would anyone who could afford to be totally independent want to live with someone else?" "Kirsten, I think there's something I should explain." "You don't have to, Mom. I understand perfectly. Meeting Blanche and Dorothy explains everything."
Like, come on. Kirsten obviously thinks they're romantically involved. This has to be intentionally cryptic.

Ok I’m sorry if you’ve already answered this before but I saw some of your older posts talking about your headcanons regarding Helia’s Dynamic with Miele as well as Flora’s dynamic with Saladin and they were just so wholesome! I’m just a sucker for wholesome (future) in-law dynamics. So anyway, it made me wonder if you had any thoughts or headcanons on Helia’s dynamic/relationship with Flora’s parents, Rhodos and Alyssa. Its already a crime that we don’t get to see Flora’s family that much in canon (not to mention her parents don’t get introduced until season 6/7 of all things). Its an even bigger crime that we get practically zero interactions between Helia and Flora’s parents in canon (from what I remember). Like at least between him and Miele, we get a little something in the comics, but NOTHING with Rhodos and Alyssa! So yeah, I’d like to hear your thoughts
AHHHHHHHHHH OBSESSED
i have mentioned this before (teehee)! but it's not suuuper fleshed out so i'm taking advantage of your ask to talk about helia more ajdgkdag
you're so right it's an Absolute Crime that we didn't get to see her parents till the later seasons (and we don't even know if they're what rainbow/iginio originally intended her parents to be like either), but i actually really like her parents! rhodos being So Goofy and making a bunch of puns?? AMAZING also fully obsessed with both flora and her mother having strangling vines that grab everyone like we really see where flora gets it from aldhgjlg
anyway, with how friendly they both are, i think they would fully adore helia! especially since flora probably talks about him a lot or at the very least doesn't hide that she's in a relationship, i think they would end up knowing a lot more about him than he realizes ajhdgl i definitely don't think it would take till s7 for them to properly meet though! i can see flora officially introducing him near the end of s3 or sometime in s5 (considering the earth gap year)!
but Anyway, headcanons!!
rhodos and alyssa are absolutely devasted that helia has next to zero knowledge about plants and plant care, so rhodos takes it upon himself to teach helia every single time he visits
rhodos is also very excited to say every single pun/joke about plants he knows since he figures helia hasn't heard them yet (helia: takes one step outside - rhodos: well, I can't WHEAT to see you again ;;;;))
in ep6 it shows them taking care of the magiwolves and since i also hc that helia has some good medical knowledge, i like to think that he'd be able to impress them with that! i can see them comparing notes and maybe even asking for help with other animals!
in the comics, they mention that flora and helia played together when they were kids and i hc that it was actually alyssa who remembered him and told them!
rhodos is way too friendly and cheerfully tells helia that he can call him dad if he wants to. helia's too nervous to tell him he thinks that's weird as hell ajdgl
helia still calls them mr. rhodos and mrs. alyssa decades after meeting them aladhg
i mentioned in the miele post that she would eventually ask to know when he's going on missions, and i think after a couple years (probably around s7 time), rhodos and alyssa would also ask for that information. timmy helps him make a little timetable that he can just fill out and they can access whenever
i think i mentioned it in the first post but they absolutely try to subtly drop hints that they're okay with florelia getting married aldghl (they're not subtle At All but they're trying okay alhdgl)
helia would definitely be a little awkward and nervous around them at first, even more so after experiencing how nice they are to him. i can see him feeling like he doesn't deserve it or like he needs to earn their respect. that would last for a couple of years but eventually he would have a moment where it just kind of clicks that they literally don't care what he does as long as he treats flora with respect and love.
after that, he would randomly get a lot more comfortable with them and they get excited because they think it means florelia are getting married or something ajdhgl

how would you rank the characters in s7 i assume cheryl and toni take the top 2 spot but everyone else?
yes, they are top two, always.
cheryl: forever my fav, but i think what they've done with her this season is so, so good. the way they've used the 50s to show cheryl's growth is on par with how well they're using it show choni's. i do think the difference in her is also a result of her not having jason related trauma, but it's also obviously showing how much she's matured over the course of the show. i'm just so proud of her every week and pray they can keep it up for just nine more eps.
toni: her best season, bar none. they've finally figured out how to write her and write for her, and it's both so satisfying to finally see and frustrating that it took them this long to do it. but this is the toni i always knew she was, and seeing her perspective and struggles has been so nice. my single complaint is that she's missing so many episodes. anyone that has a bad word to say about her this season is dumb and nasty and has no empathy for black characters.
tabitha: no we haven't seen much of her but i love her so much and i miss her so much and i just can't rank anyone else higher than her, sorry.
reggie: we haven't seen much of him yet but i already love him so much. it's so interesting to see such a different version of him and think charles is doing a great job. best boy for sure.
archie: i do not find most of his plots interesting and he's been kinda meh in the last few eps, but i can't deny that i've found him really endearing for the first time in seasons. i do wish they would pull back on the straight savior stuff a bit, but still. i'm charmed most of the time.
kevin: it's been nice to see him get some meaty stuff to work with again, and to not be made a villain for once. i wish the writers would give his relationship with clay more onscreen development, but i'm glad kevin's journey has at least gotten some focus and has been taken seriously. i really hope they take the time to show that it helped him with his internalized homophobia in the present.
midge: listen is it unserious of me to put midge so high? yes, but i think she's cute and i love her dynamic with cheryl and toni and i appreciate her existence when it comes to fangs and i don't care which way they choose to bring her back to the present (there's a lot of ways i can think of), just that they do.
clay: i really like this guy and think he's sweet and a great match for kevin and a great fit on the show and in the gang. i wish we knew more about him and still think he should have been a topaz to give toni a family as well as kevin a love interest, but whatever.
veronica: i'm happy to see her with a bit of her spunk back, but i will just always struggle to find veronica or her stories interesting. i think she started the season off strong but now she's just fallen back into boring business and family related plots or mooning after boys with betty. meh. still, gets point for variety.
betty: i usually love betty, but find her kinda meh this season. i understand what they've been trying to do with her and i think lili is doing a good job, but it just feels so repetitive every episode, omg. we get it, betty is horny and wants to fuck the patriarchy both literally and metaphorically, can she come up with something else?
fangs: i don't mind him this season at all and i appreciate that he shaved and cut his hair so he doesn't look like the nasty man he was last season, but it's not like he's gotten anything to do for me to enjoy. but i don't hate him so good for him.
jughead: ranking him below fangs... look how they massacred my boy. i grew to love him at lot in the time jump, but i guess i'm just never going to like high school jughead because woof. the fact that i completely forgot about him until i almost hit publish says it all. completely isolated from the rest of the cast, with the most boring storylines on the show that's largely just him and guest stars... it's bad for him. not even tabitha could get me to pay attention to him.
julian: he does his job as a villain well and nick seems lovely, but obviously he's last. the one good thing i can say about him is that i'm glad they went with him over jason because i hate jason and think they've beaten that dead horse more than enough, and i'm actually intrigued by the dynamic between julian and cheryl.

the context of the “spoiled entitled princess” comment is even worse. she wasn’t just saying elena was a spoiled entitled princess but that all robins are spoiled entitled princesses. but the difference between elena and other robins is that her spoiled entitled princessness is acknowledge by the other characters and specifically the ted. she said that elena was a weak robin because everyone talked about her goodness and compassion, whereas if she was a strong robin the other characters would acknowledge she was an asshole but be obsessed with her anyways. which is honestly such a wild take because most shows/books/movies say that their protagonists are good and heroic people unless it’s a show like breaking bad where the main character is the villain. the wildest thing is she used buffy (a character she claims to love) as an example of a strong robin whose selfishness is acknowledged by the other characters, and she did this by using one quote of angelus calling buffy self absorbed. which is ridiculous, angelus is the villain, you are not supposed to agree with him. and like in what fucking universe is BUFFY SUMMERS a spoiled entitled princess like the fuck??? also the other characters on the show don’t talk about buffy as being a spoiled entitled princess. the other characters (including angel) acknowledge that buffy is a good, kind and compassionate person because she is one!
UGHHHHHH
Okay so first: if she wanted to make that argument against BUFFY (one of the most selfless protagonists ever) then she could've used the whole S7 shenanigans where suddenly the show decided buffy had a superiority complex and the culmination of that arc that resulted in her family and friends kicking her out of her own house. As absurd as that argument is, at least she'd have a stronger basis for it than the words of the villain of the season that up until that point held no ground.
Second: what.... Like you said, no book, tv show or movie acknowledges their protagonist is an asshole and have characters "loves them anyway" unless that's the point of the show. And even then, deep down the show *wants* you to love them too. If a protagonist is supposed to be "unlikable" but characters love them anyway, that protagonist *is* being validated in the text. The show is telling you that despite their unlikable manner, they're actually a good person, they're actually righteous. They're an antihero. No show ever wants you to dislike their protagonist or they'd be doing a bad job. Shows like House or Jessica Jones fall in that category. They are at their protagonist side.
On Breaking Bad, no one loves Walt despite him being an asshole, the people who love him don't know the full story. When they find out that love falls apart. Because the goal of the show is a story of moral decay.
TVD is a badly written show; they don't think elena is an asshole, they truly believe whatever they put in their characters mouths. If we the audience perceive her as an asshole but that is acknowledged in any way by the text, then that's cause the show believes it. Because it's bad written.

What happens when Nya meets Kai once Ronin is gone and the ninjas discover Kai?
When Kai meets the ninja its chill for the most part, there some back talk and they don't see exactly eye to eye, but there after similar things and its kind of a if you scratch my back I'll scratch yours. Since the soul archer is working for Morro, you find morro, you find soul archer, you find Ronin.
I'm unsure if they meet Kai in the shop when they go looking for the scroll, or when they are traveling to Stiix they happen across each other (maybe the train station??). Probably the first one, Kai saying the scroll is 1000 coins [idk what their currency is] and agrees to give them the scroll for 100 if they will help him find Ronin. And as a bonus he throws in the aeroblades. Then they probably get attacked by ghosties like in the show. Soul archer probably taunts Kai about Ronin's debt, and I'm pretty sure Morro also ends up there too, so Kai gets introduced to all the baddies. and they probably loose the scroll too
Basically everything goes well until they regroup and Nya and Kai see each other for the first time in about 8-ish years, and all hell breaks loose.
Nya hates Kai, he was the last family she had and he ran away and left her behind. He never contacted her and she was left alone in her village. Abandoned by her whole family, she left with terrible abandonment issues. But with the found family of the ninja's she doesn't feel alone or is worried they'll leave her.
Kai resents Nya, he's felt as if ever since she was born everyone compared him to her. She seemed to do everything better than him and he quickly fell under her shadow. He hated how he was pushed aside in favor of his sister, and he also believes that he is unwanted. His relationship with Ronin eased some of those fears, but when he ran away he believed that she would only want him out of her life sooner or later.
So when the two get back together they kinda explode. 90% of their conversations dissolve quickly into petty arguments. They have had some healing apart, but their anger and resentment they have for one another is very unresolved. They almost have a physical fight at one point and have to be separated by the other ninja.
And this isn't something that will be resolved by the end of the season. If I actually continue this I plan that their reconciliation would happen over several seasons and would probably resolve or they'd become at least on good terms around s7 when they find their parents. They're not super close family per-say but they understand what happened between them and there is a lot of pain, and they can work together. Even if they get on each others nerves, they're willing to work towards a better relationship.
They're still mad at their parents tho
