thought about the first mate again for a second too long. lying down to weep for three hours
#i will return to sunless aea eventually and i will die bc i do not know what i was doing so then i will be able--#--to play thru the entirety of aigul again. yelps !!!!!!!!!!#the way that they say the wounded captain cannot get better if nobody asks about him. how they get emotional to the point of near--#--tears when you DO ask abt him. good god they mean so much to me they make me feel so emo#mine white whale is the multichapter extremely emo and weird fic abt hydes time in aigul. will never write it but it will always haunt me#scene. he sneaks in to speak with the wounded captain and at one point the man notices the spine-calcification upon hydes arm and goes--#--quiet. just runs his fingers over it light enough that the still haeling skin doesnt hurt. it takes hyde reassuring him that hes got no--#--interest in anymore of THAT aspect of aigul for him to try 2 shift the conversation. ends up w the most shitty attention shifter instead--#--and points at the sunlight scars from when hyde almost died and goes 'ANYWAYS. whats the story behind those lol'. awkward--#--moment but hyde handles it well enough and they settle back into safer waters. i just think that quiet moment of the captains--#--own regret when he sees the spine-signs on ANYBODY not just the first mate is crushing. aigul always leads back to one single--#--thing and nobody is safe from that black hole. it always spirals down to the shouldve wouldve couldves of life
