it's very easy to justify terrorism and the murder of children and the elderly when you and your loved ones aren't affected by it at all, and you barely see anyone involved as a person but rather as a hypothetical idea to further a certain political view. which is why these days we get to see the most braindead takes from ppl in the west on both the right and the left
