Grocery Shopping w/ Shanks, Ace, Zoro, & Sanji <3

Summary: You ever wonder what it's like to go grocery shopping with Shanks, Ace, Zoro, or Sanji?

Akagami no Shanks

⁃ He likes it when you invite him to go shopping with you. It’s nice to spot different varieties of food from individual islands. Or comparing different market stands from other past islands he explored over the years. 

⁃ Since the red-hair captain is always busy maintaining & partying with his crew, he takes grocery shopping as another way of spending quality time together.

⁃ Shanks will not accept separating from each other. He’s not fond of the thought of losing you or being harmed if alone. He’s a very popular man, so he knows people aiming for his title will not miss the chance to take you alone. 

⁃ Hand-holding is a must, of course that would mean you’ve be left to hold the basket or push the cart due to his one arm. However, if you got tired of holding/pushing the groceries, then he let go of your hand and take over.

- He wiggles his eyebrows when he takes the cart, translating it as, “Wanna hop in?”

⁃ Anyways, It’s attractive to see him handle a cart with one hand. Especially when theirs a tight corner around the isles. You silently watch as you see his arm flex, trying to adjust the shopping cart direction. A small groan will fall from his lips as he sets the shopping cart towards it new course.

- Meanwhile, you may or not have been blushing when seeing the veins that once erupted from his forearm, slowly go back into hiding. 

⁃ “What’s next?” He chirp, as if he didn’t just make you think of naughty thoughts. \_O-O_/

⁃ Anyways, expect Shanks begging to be pushed in a shopping cart. Once he sees the cart, he knows his goal : get into that shopping cart. The red-hair would drag you towards a quiet isle, and after checking no one was insight, he immediately jump in. 

⁃ “Shanks! Careful!” You whisper yell, startled and quickly grabbing him by the side to provide support. Done adjusting himself, Shanks will merely look like a kid ready for a rollercoaster, chanting, “Let’s go!”

⁃ His favorite sections is the booze section. It’s cute to see his cheeky smile reflect on the glass bottles. But, make sure not to bring him to the booze section if he’s tipsy, or else he just start drinking everything. One time that happened and it resulted an angry manager to yell in his face. 

⁃ Shanks likes shopping lists. It helps him keep track of needed supplies while enjoying time with you. 

⁃ Expect him to add his own treat to the list. *cough* booze *cough*

⁃ The red-hair loves it when you think about his crew-mates and what they need. Like grabbing cigars for Benn, or more Meat for Lucky, and bananas for Monkey - It makes him feel so lucky to be in love with someone that cares for others.

⁃ Did I mention that Shanks likes to tease? You can’t reach a specific item on a high shelf? Oh, well good luck dealing with that manchild

⁃ “Shanks can you get that for me.” You ask, pointing to a needed item on the top shelf that you couldn’t reach.

⁃ “Oh, this?” He asks and points at the item, his eyes twinkling when seeing you on your tippy toes, and instantly he’s coming up with a mischievous idea. Nodding your head at his question, the Red-Hair slowly wraps his fingers around the item, and just as you were about to thank him, he moves the item to the very top of the shelf. 

⁃ A smirk would ascend on his lips when he sees you glare at him. Though, if your eye suddenly twitches, then he stop. Shanks incidents of going shopping with you when angry never go well…

⁃ In Conclusion, he’s not a bad person to shop with! Just be careful shopping with him after he had a couple drinks. 

Portgas D. Ace

⁃ He loves it. It’s simple. Ace feels no need to worry about his best appearance like an actual date. He gets to spend time with you without the crew. And he won’t be bored because... there's food everywhere.

⁃ Ace won’t mind separating, understanding if you want to wonder on your own, just as long the store isn’t flooded with customers. But if the grocery store is crowded with people, then he’s holding your hand like an iron gate. 

⁃ If you begin talking about meals you plan to make, Ace would just melt like pudding. He even get all handsy, (mostly in quiet isles) the thought of all the yummy recipes that fall from your lips just makes him so so happy. 

⁃ Will 100% get shy if an old lady ask for his assistants. 

⁃ “Excuse me young man? Can you grab me that jar of jelly on the top shelf, please?” 

⁃ Oh boy. Immediately he’s grabbing it as fast as lightning, but since his hands are so sweaty, he almost drop it. But Luckily, the lady didn’t seems to notice so he be calm about it, playing it off cool and handing her the jar of jelly.

⁃ “H-here you go,” he carefully give to her, not letting go until he was 100% sure the elder had a firm grip on the glass. Meanwhile, you just in the back, smiling at your boyfriend cuteness. You envision him having a big fluffy tail, happily shaking back and forth when the lady calls him a good boy.

⁃ Meat Section All The Time. So if you ever lose him, don’t bother to ask for help, just go to the meat section and you catch yourself a gawking Ace.

- By the way, he definitely thinks of Luffy when entering the meat isle; knowing it’s his little brother favorite food. Of course he soon begin to talk bout stories of Luffy as you and him stroll in the meat isle. He share funny tales of him and his little brother fighting to the death for just a sliver of meat.

⁃ He doesn’t mind grocery lists. One time you told him to hold it - of course he did because he’s a precious boy - while you grabbed a quick item. On the way back of grabbing it, you ask for it back.

⁃ “Ace, can I have the list back?” But, Nope. A wicked smirk would crawl onto his lips as he slowly raise the list in the air. Good luck getting it back. 

⁃ Sample Stands is Ace’s Best Friend. He nervously ask the owner of the stand if he could have one; and of course they say yes to his bright smile. Yet, unknown to them, you in the back holding the millions of samples that Ace told you to hide so be doesn’t get caught for taking more than one. 

⁃ Ace fucking loves pushing the cart. If theres no one in the isle, then he instantly jump in and persist you to push him for a little bit. And how can you say no to his puppy face? 

⁃ Surprisingly, Ace doesn’t attract Marines when going shopping. He’s always so quiet, memorizing the delicious food on the shelves and listening to what you were planing to make, that he just silently follows you.

⁃ When you stroll through to the cold isle, he loves it when you cling to him. These moments really brighten his day.

⁃ Overall, he’s a good boy! 

Roronoa Zoro

- You have to hold his hand or he get lost. One time you even had to tie a rope around each other arms to avoid being separated.

⁃ If he ever gets lost, you either come across Marines or Zoro in the booze section. Theres no in between, so good luck.

⁃ He hates when people carts take up the entire isle. Zoro won’t hesitate to move it just so he could get through, but if you don’t like that then he will go around the isle. 

⁃ He likes samples. Zoro will always bring some samples back to the ship for Chopper. <3

⁃ Will get moody very easily if you don’t give him a task. For example, tell him to hold the grocery list, tell him to push the cart, tell him to grab something (that is in your eye of perspective), tell Zoro to do anything - he do it. 

⁃ Zoro is an intimidating man, so expect lots of babies crying when seeing him. One time a baby in a stroller past him, the kiddo had a lollipop in his mouth, and less than a second, the baby instantly burst into tears with his lollipop crushed on the ground.

⁃ “God, Chopper doesn’t even cry that bad.”   You grab Zoro by the ear and drag him away from the scene in hopes of not gaining attention from your boyfriend comment.

⁃ Will lose the grocery list, so it’s your job to hold it.

⁃ Zoro refuses to touch ingredients that Sanji asked for. 

⁃ “Can you grab the celery? Sanji said he needed it for a soup he wants to make tonight.” Cue Zoro rolling his eyes. “No,” he glare at the ground below him and groan, “that shitty cook can get his own shit.” Again, Goodluck.

⁃ He likes the booze section. 

⁃ But, another section he likes is the protein section. Especially when you begin talking about recipes that you can involve the protein with, oh boy - thats one way to get Zoro in a good mood. He be leaning by your side and nuzzle close into your neck, listening to your delicious protein meal ideas as if it was music to his ears.

⁃ Without his crew around to make him feel flustered about regular ‘relationship stuff,’ Zoro is more open with his affection. So he perhaps wrap his arm around your shoulder or waist.

⁃ Bonus, he will bring Chopper depending on how his day is going. So when the little reindeer does tag along, the swordsman will just plop him in the cart. 

⁃ Another great thing about going shopping with Zoro and Chopper, is the doctor will hold the grocery list and practically order the big man what to do. 

⁃ Overall, he’s not the best go grocery shopping with, but he comes in handy

Vinsmoke Sanji

⁃ You might as well have your wedding at a grocery store, because it feels as if he’s getting married to an angel in heaven when going grocery shopping with you.

⁃ He will definitely hold hands, maybe even wrap his arm around shoulder or waist. Sanji already feels like he’s in heaven, so he’s gonna want to soak every moment.

⁃ He won’t be a fan of separating, he understands if you wish to wonder on your own, but he much rather stay together.

⁃ If you ever make a list, he leave the list with you. All he needs is for you tell him the meals you plan to make this week and he figure out the ingredients along the way.

⁃ You tell him to push the cart?

⁃ “Of course, [Name]-swan!~” Oh, and he would push that shopping cart like a ✨gentleman✨

⁃ You ask him to grab the item you missed?

⁃ “I would love too! I be right back my dear, [Name]-chan!”

⁃ You want a sample but feel too shy to ask?

⁃ “Anything for you, my lovely [Name].” Cue him running up to an old man and releasing a puff of smoke from his cigarette, “Oi, may I have one of those samples?”

⁃ Sanji will have heart-eyes when he sees you reading the ingredients, or checking the health of the fruit/vegetables. It just feels so touching to have someone value food just as much as he does.

⁃ He refuses to get stuff for Zoro. The moment you ask if he can grab a jar of whatever for Zoro, he immediately groan, “That Moss-Head can get it himself. I don’t need that wasteful shit in my kitchen.”

⁃ Instead of teasing, he’s more into being romantic.

⁃ Like if you ever need an ingredient on a high shelf but can’t reach, instead of putting it over his head or teasing you, Sanji would instead hand it into your firm hands. Then, he lean in close to your face as if he’s the only person you should focus on.

⁃ “Here you go, [Name]-chan,” he seductively whisper, then walk away while pushing the shopping cart with one hand and smoking a cigarette with the other. Acting as if he didn’t just make your face red as a tomato

⁃ Yes, he smokes in grocery stores. But if you don’t like it, then he’ll stop.

⁃ Sanji doesn’t really have a favorite section, as long you by his side and happy, then's he's happy. However, the wine section, is a different story. He loves scanning the luxurious liquor, his cute smile always reflecting off the copper/emerald glass.

⁃ In conclusion, he’s probably the best to shop with out of the rest. Just make sure you can handle his… affection.
