Story? Sounds interesting!

Alright, here's the story:
It's Tuesday, and I usually have Drawing 1 on Tuesdays for this semester; we basically draw a photo together in this class to hone our skills in traditional drawing.
Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, my college does this thing where only a batch of 15-20 students can attend the session face-to-face (abbreviated f2f onwards) while everyone else attends online. My entire block/class of 40-50 students had been divided for that policy, but we can swap out slots as long as we inform our professor.
Now, today isn't just one of my regular Tuesdays — my class had a scheduled meetup in a barangay hall later that afternoon for a dance practice as part of our Physical Education class final. Four of my classmates and I had to squeeze into my family's car as we went for the venue.
I'm fairly well-acquainted with my blockmates and even good friends with one of them, so casually there came a conversation about yesterday.
One of them asked something like, "Hey, so sino pala yung crush mo? (Who is your crush?) Is it [crushie]?"
Remember: we're all squeezed together in my family's car with my mom driving and my dad in shotgun.
It's kind of funny to think about.
I laughed ("Ha? HAHAHAHAHHA hatdog!") before going, "Si Mark! Sina Markiplier at Jacksepticeye! (Mark! Markiplier and Jacksepticeye!)"
"Oh, nah, it's [crushie]," goes another blockmate.
"Paano mo nasabi? (How can you say that?)" I jokingly asked.
Oh, oh my poor poor self.
One would think that I'd only get this kind of situation only in fanfics when supporting characters are telling the main character about their love interest.
Why do I say this?
A blockmate responded to paano mo nasabi? with, and I quote:
"Halata kasi eh. Obvious."
Halata is an adjective, meaning obvious or easily noticeable. Kasi is the Tagalog equivalent for because.
I tried to brush it off with another paano mo nasabi and the same blockmate replied like, "Isa, halata since we were groupmates during first term."
Ah.
Tumblr media
Hatdog na lang po ang masasabi ko. /j - [in Tagalog] Hatdog is all I can say now.
BONUS:
We were at the venue already and I was getting changed with the blockmate I was good friends with.
I actually personally admitted to her who crushie is while changing, and she went, "Oh, I knew it" and laughing light-heartedly.
She also said that I exuded Wattpad fanfic energy. It has not left my brain since.
