3. What is the most amount of research you’ve done for the smallest detail? What was the detail and how much time/effort went into researching it? ahahaha *sweats* I don't actually research. I write what the characters tell me to write, so I write about stuff I already know - I don't think 'oh I want to write a story about XYZ' and then have to go read up on XYZ before I can write; I don't plan my writing like that. I am indeed an archivist - but that means I don't enjoy research in my free time because it's something I have to do for work. I have, however, included a *lot* of work stuff in All I Want Is You - Bard's mate Stella is basically a self-insert, the house is based on a real one that I work in every now and then, and some of the characters are inspired by members of the family I work for (specifically Thranduil's great-grandmother and great-great-aunt, the two gardeners/photographers/etc), basically because it was stuff I already knew.

4. Share a headcanon about Dáin in The Hobbit/Bard in Empty Vessel! Oh, Dáin, I love him so much. Billy Connolly is an old old favourite and he does such a fantastic job. It's been a very long time since I read the book, but in the movie I absolutely adore how bolshie he is and how rude he is to Thranduil - but I do headcanon that secretly he actually rather likes and respects him and that's why he's so rude. And he has a soft spot for kids so he is very fond of the Bardlings, particularly Sigrid because she stands up to him. XD Bard, meanwhile, in EV-'verse, never quite comes to terms with the whole leadership thing; it was different in Lake-town because he wasn't actually in charge, he was just looking out for the townspeople and trying to keep up a resistance to the Master. Of course, he's a born leader with resting nobility face, and there's nobody else who can even begin to do the job, after the battle, so he steps up because he has to, but he's never really comfortable with it, and he hates that they all decided he was going to have to be called a King.

5. Is there a tiny detail in one of your fics that you feel goes tragically unnoticed? Ooooh. I do like to put little references to canon like bits of dialogue and so on in there (so I have more than once had Thranduil saying that he's patient and he can wait, and I did recently have Aragorn boldly claiming to the twins that here's one ranger you won't catch off his guard, and Legolas alluding to 'they're taking the Hobbits to Isengard!' for example XD ), and sometimes people pick up on it and sometimes they don't - or at least, if they do they don't mention it in the comments :D I don't think I really have plots or plot points, I'm nowhere near that clever, so I don't think there's anything like that, but there are a lot of callbacks and internal references particularly across most of my canon-set stuff as it's almost all set in Empty Vessel-'verse, and I don't know that anyone's as invested as I am to notice it XD

Is there anything about any one of your fics that you have been dying to discuss but haven’t had the chance to? omg, anything and everything, I would be delighted to talk about whatever anyone wants to ask about; I don't seem to be the sort of author who gets lots of random asks about their writing but it always makes my year when it happens, and when people are kind enough to ask me questions from this sort of meme, which is basically me begging for attention XD I love talking about my headcanons and characters and stories and will happily do it at the slightest of provocations.

I was able to approach the topic of gender with my mom yesterday, which was a conversation I have been thinking about and terrified of for months now. ❤️

And the whole conversation started with me explaining my plans and excitement of cosplaying c!Eret (!!) And she asked me why I kept swapping pronouns.

I hadn't really planned to talk to her about how I feel about my own gender, but starting there, explaining how some people use multiple pronouns, helped me break the ice and it lead to the conversation continuing, and it was genuinely an amazing talk. To be honest, I never expected it to go that well. I had created a lot of worst case scenarios in my head, and none of that happened. She even related to me on a lot of points, and pointed out some things about myself I had thought I had pretty effectively managed to hide. (She told me that "when you wear particularly feminine things that you're not comfy in, you look beautiful, don't get me wrong...but you shrink up on yourself. You don't stand tall." ...like, frick, man. 😭)

For a tiny bit of context, (because I know I've never really talked about myself here) I'm 22 and I've been comfy in my sexuality (pan/bi) since I was 17. I also came out to my mom immediately back then, and that was never an issue! I love her more than anything, but talking about gender identity felt like a whole other ball game. I feel pretty non-binary, not sure specifically what label but I know for sure that I like multiple pronouns (she and they in particular are great, but I'm also realizing how there are masculine terms I like for myself too! I'm testing things out!), and the best way I can describe how I feel (and the way I described it to her) is that my gender feels like an addition, like it all just adds, not subtracts. I still like she/her and feminine terms, but I'm also adding more on that also feel right! I think maybe the closest is genderfluid? Maybe???

and I know that's not clear cut, not simple, I don't know the label for it. I'm absolutely still figuring it out (if anything is proof to you that there's no time limit to figure yourself out, let it be this.) But I'm just happy she seems to get it, and I don't have to be as nervous forcing myself to fit into a neat little box.

So, yeah! Tumblr felt like the best place to type this all out. I'm so relieved and bewildered that our talk went so well, I felt like I had to write about it 😅

I'm going to separate each one into fics and analyses, as my answer for each will be different!

3) Name a fanfic/story you are particularly proud of writing. Fic: I've been told I'm very good at writing angst, and I agree! I can pinpoint emotions easily and describe exactly what that feeling is, so it's come in handy for writing spooky/horror fanfiction... :} Anything I write of that genre, I'm usually proud of. Analysis: I'm proud of anything I write on Stephen Stotch, as his character is so strongly represented through little pieces of information throughout the series, so it makes me feel smarter to have pieced everything together like that! Although the organization was a little messy, I'm still proud of that analysis I wrote on Stephen and Linda's emotional connection to Butters. I see the two as very good friends and they're both aware that they don't have romantic or sexual attraction to each other, but they stay together just because... they need each other, really. They're both dependent on others in different ways, so I feel as if their personalities and struggles fit in a lock like that... so everything I write on those two I end up loving, even months after I write it (which doesn't happen often).

4) Where did you get your inspiration from? Fic: It usually comes through seeing the creativity of others. If I see a really good piece of fanart, then it might inspire me to write something, whether it be a little headcanon or a full fanfiction. This is a weird one here, but funky-looking and unsettling South Park merchandise also inspires me to write. It's so fascinating to me because with as long as it's been airing and as popular as it is, it creates some weird merchandise, official or bootleg. The creations of those always have stories stirring in my mind based off of them. Analysis: Writing analyses! I have an entire list on my notes app of things I want to write, and most, if not all, of those ideas come from me writing or researching an analysis. For example... my most recent addition on that list is "The Overarching Message of Generational Superiority in "#REHASH" and "#HappyHolograms" (with a focus on Kyle), which came from me analyzing those episodes in my ongoing Ike analysis, which came from me doing my Gerald analysis and realizing Ike is a much more interesting character than people know, which came from me fascinated by Gerald's behavior in "You're Not Yelping", which... finally, came from me deciding to rewatch season 19 last December to try to understand why it didn't appeal to me as much as the other seasons. The more analyses I write, the more inspiration I get to write, just because there's so much to be said about the show and the characters... Everything is connected. I like thinking about themes and deeper messages, and why characters behave as they do... so I'm constantly getting more ideas for analyses through research. Very cool!

5) Where do you find your motivation? Fic: Comments and feedback! The more comments and feedback I get on my writing, the more I'll write. I think this goes for a lot of writers, as it's always nice to see people enjoying the things you create... and it makes you want to create more for them and yourself. Analysis: In October, I was having so much trouble writing and just... this awful writer's block that lasted weeks through any type of writing I did, and it was so funny, because you know what got me out of this multi-week writer's block? I turned on a South Park episode on TV and Gerald spoke for two seconds. I counted. Two seconds. The entire episode. Suddenly, I was filled with so much motivation and I wasn't even writing about him. It was like I was some video game character and I was restored to full health 😭. I was wondering why this happened, and I came to a conclusion. You know when you see a character you like and you suddenly want to be surrounded in content of the character? It's this adrenaline rush of love and adoration, I think, and this goes for any character I feel strongly about. It's happened with Kyle, it's happened with Linda Stotch... It's like this desire to create from what you're feeling, and that's probably what gives me motivation. I don't know if other people feel this way, but this is the conclusion I came to based off of my own experiences.
