I know the microwave line seems kind of silly at first. (It did to me too.) But consider this: It's an intentional parallel of sorts to Ayans confession in ep 8. You know. The one where he compares Akks face to a cup of coffee? That one.

Because here's the thing: Akk is like a warm cup of coffee, bc the coffee on the inside is warm, so it warms the cup as well. Because Akk is so warm on the inside. And when he let's his feelings out, it affects him whole body. Everything about him is warm, when he loves. Also: there is comfort in love, (with and) for Akk.

And Kan is like a microwave! Because they're always cold until you give them a purpose by turning them on. And Kan gets warm when he's protective of Thua and when he spends time with his friends. He becomes warm when he gives himself the task of telling Thua how he feels. He needed some encouragement, but now he's fully there. And he's a bit intense about it (electric, even). And some of that warmth is always radiating off him in those moments.

(Something else fun is, that both microwaves and coffee can cause burns, but idk what that means regarding that. Maybe it says something about the intensity with which both Akk and Kan love.)
